GOOG MORNING, SUNSHINES!

Have a great Monday. :sad2:

 Moovers.

I think I have recovered from the crazy weekend. :upsidedow

Hope everybody who is sick is feeling better, those who are away from home have safe travels, and those who need a jolt to get their Monday going have a cup of coffee (or Diet Coke, for you sane people)

Did I tell you that I tried on the three possible outfits that I may wear to the wedding this weekend......First one is a black and red top and a long red skirt.......the second combo is the black and red top and a black skirt......or the red and black top with black pants.........OR I could go and buy another outfit someplace fast......my foot almost is comfy in the shoes.....we are going to NYC for this wedding....leaving here on Friday .....going to NH and driving there with the inlaws......then staying Friday night in NJ Airport......then driving into the city for the wedding and hopefully finding one of those parking garages that my bil googled.......so that is the plan..

Hope you that are feeling ill feel better fast.......and those who put up your Christmas decorations.....way to go......nothing like beating the four letter word of cold water that drops that is white .

Hi! This weekend the leaves really changed colors. Just beautiful. The sugar maples are a glorious red-orange. Today is windy so it is "snowing" leaves.

UtahMama- I hope you feel better! The hard thing about being a mom is no sick days.
BNCG/Lally Smackdown- to E! :cheer2: to L! I actually started to watch the game but fell asleep. It isn't personal. Sitting still in front of anything less riviting that the Who's Line game or Nip/Tuck does that to me these days.
BBN- Glad you have recovered from the crazy weekend.
Cel- you cool kid, surfin' the web at the Panera:cool2:

So, plan A for today was gymnastics for both little twinker-twins, followed by a playdatefor lunch who would take them straight to school. Meaning I would have one child from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm. I had planned an ironing/laundry frenzy- I am still not caught up plus I need to wash all the baby stuff.

HOWEVER

poor Princess Twink woke up and said "I think I have pink eye":scared:

She does.

And is distraught because she can't go to gymnastics or the friend's house or school.

And the worst part is waiting for Goldenchild and Twinkerbell to start showing symptoms.... which will be late today or tomorrow.

Oh yeah. And I will get it too. I hate pinkeye.

Morning all,

Well it is a cool 32 degrees outside. But when I got outside it wasn't too bad :confused3

Twinkie-- we have never had pink eye in our house thank goodness. What do you do for that, drops? Or do you have to ride it out.

Pumba-- how fun to be going away for a wedding. We haven't had a wedding go to in a long time. Waiting on those nieces and nephews. I have a few in there late 20's early 30's. Hope your foot is all better by then. Are you and your hubby dancers?

UMA-- how are you today?

Thanks all, I do feel like a whole new person today! One who is not sick at all. One who wonders how much weight she lost due to skipping 3 meals. One who speaks in 3rd person. One who now needs to do dishes and clean up since the DH was in charge...they had pizza and popcorn. Grrrr! I need a Roomba Robot vacuum to clean up and freak out my cats. :santa:

Twinkie- the prospect of only having one child for most of the day is like chocolate good...sorry about the pink eye dashing your hopes. May I recommend a round of ointment/drops as preventative to you non-pink Twinkies? Does that work? Ohhhh- I love when it snows leaves from the wind. My fruitless Mulberry tree dropped all it's leaves in 2 days. There's a few cling-ons though.

BN- sorry the Colts lost. Are you OK, sweetie? I did check the scores throughout the game just for you and was happy they were winning most of the time. I didn't wear my lucky socks or they would have. :upsidedow

Celery- What is Panera? Is it like Starbucks? Cooler?

Pumba- I vote for the black and the red

Nab, Melinda, Peej, Marita, Moo, Lalijack, UD, and everyone else, Good Morning!!!! Don't you just LOVE the end of daylight savings time? :cool1: I feel so rested!

Whats for breakfast?

You all have my blessing to skim/skip this post.
Twinkie-- we have never had pink eye in our house thank goodness. What do you do for that, drops? Or do you have to ride it out.
Yes drops for pinkeye. The trouble is that it is HIGHLY contaigous until you have had drops for 24 hrs and the more "gunk" you have in your eyes the more the drops sting. So it is hardest to give the drops when they need it the most.

The other thing you have to find a dr who will call in a script without needing to see you. AND you have ask for the exact prescription you want....they are not all created equal in efficiency plus some cost up to $60 for 5 days for one kid!!!! I have found one that works and was only $4 at walmart pharmacy. This is important cause everyone needs there own bottle of drops. However we have a new dr and new insurance and a new pharmacy so today will be spent on the phone tracking down the Cure.

Also- they girls had eye dr apts tomorrow. The dr would see them to diagnose the pinkeye but can't do a regular exam so I had to reschedule those. And I go to the OB tomorrow. I hope everyone is back in school by then so I don't have to drag the masses with me.

Thanks all, I do feel like a whole new person today! One who is not sick at all. One who wonders how much weight she lost due to skipping 3 meals. One who speaks in 3rd person. I am glad you are feeling better. And speaking in the third person. Tres chic!

My inner molecular biologist doesn't like the thought of preventative antibiotics. Plus that would require sharing a bottle of drops which, while I AM awesome at such things, would just risk cross contamination and while I am fairly sure everyone has already been infected I don't want to risk it. Also it is important for the pinkeye princess to get a complete round of drops. I already cheat by making up my own dosing instructions (look away babynurse!).... but I am an intellectual cheat. I used the manufacturer's reccomendations plus my own knowledge of the growth/reproduction of germs. And I usually do more doses than the dr reccomends. When I follow the drs directions the pink eye clears up and then we all get it again about 9 days later.

The ped isn't answering the phone yet.

utah - nab asked if Panera is a combo deli/bakery. I guess that's the closest description.
yes, it's like starbucks, only cooler. Most of the starbucks here are kinda smallish so they get loud.
Paneras around here are all big and have little alcoves and hidy spots with comfy chairs and regular tables.
you can get sandwiches, soups and salads for lunch or dinner.
for breakfast they have THE BEST bagels and other pastries plus what they call a "souffle" but it's wrapped in pastry dough, so it's even worse for you than a regular souffle.
but it's good.
mmmmmmm.
they also make coffee drinks and have at least 4 regular kinds of coffee too.
and always have half and half and nutmeg and splenda.
unlike stupid starbucks who always seem to be out of half and half when I go.
after I ate and surfed, I sat in this neat little rotunda like section and worked on grasshopper's present.
:goodvibes
it made me feel all cozy and stuff.

I'm trying now to pretend that not having a kid right now is a blessing.
like I couldn't have done that yesterday if we had a kid.
I know it's ridiculous, but it gets me through the day.

we're taking the some of the stuff we had to buy for the foster parent certification back tonight.
we can't take all of it back because we've already used it - like the two twin beds and the bedding for them.
but anthony and jeanie use them, so it's ok.
we're taking the non fun stuff back like new locks for the closet doors, a toolbox and lock for medication and the fire extinguisher.
tammy wanted to keep the fire extinguisher, but I told her if we had a fire, we'd just grab the puppies and the guinea pig and run.
ha.

pumba - I disagree with Utah. I think you should go for the red with black. :rolleyes1

nab - Whatever makes your mother happy! I'm tempted to put my decorations up now. hehehe.
but tammy wants to rent a carpet cleaner and clean the living room and the dining room.
which is a very goog idea.
cuz we have various scary pet stains and lots of spit up stains now after a weekend with crawling quentin.

pj - I really like that mickey!

my keyboard just stopped working. hmmm. I have a laptop and when I'm at work, I use a seperate keyboard because the ten key on a laptop is ridiculous.
and I MUST ten key.
well, when I actually do work.

I think my USB ports are having fits.
quentin knocked my laptop off the table this weekend and it landed on Tammy's flash drive that was in the port and smashed it.
:sad2:

my poor computer!

lex - how much do you actually sleep?

twinkie - my sister came over saturday and one of her eyes was pink. I asked her if she had pink eye.
she said she didn't think so, but then she rubbed her eye and chased me around.
she's evile.

Get THIS- My daycare buddy who is a little 18 mo. old boy was just dropped off in big-boy underpants :scared: . His mother insists he goes pee in his potty chair. After prying nicely, I asked how long she was sitting with him in the bathroom after he drinks his sippy cup? 20 or 30 minutes is what she replied.

I'll let that sink in to the non-mamas who may be reading.

AND she claimed buying diapers is getting to be too much money.

AH HA! She's wanting ME to potty train a child who is about a year away from being at all ready. BINGO!

I said I would put him on the pot and if nothing happens for 1 full minute, he will be put back in diapers. I would happily place him on the pot after meals and sippies, but I have a LOT of kids to keep an eye on and will not be waiting 20 minutes to CATCH the pee. I'm sure even the child is amazed he's doing anything at all.

I was very professional and proud of myself, I must say. She has no idea she was put in her place :cool2:

AND, now I want a bagel.

twinkie - you are completely justified in creating your own dosing instructions. what in the world does the doctor know? He sees how many kids a day?
I do, however, feel like our doctors at work know the scoop on our stuff - cuz they're specialists and have a limited number of patients. plus a limited number of drugs the prescribe.
and these patients are in the clinic three times a week (not that the doctor see them every time, but they have super nurses who see them three times a week and can guage their reaction to different medications).
what I'm saying is how can Medicare tell us that 400,000 units of epo a month is the cut off point?
do they even read the stupid package insert?
don't they know the doseage is based on weight?
and besides that, is the package insert going to be accurate for every patient?
no way!
isn't our team smart enough to monitor the patient's iron levels and hematocrit levels and change the dose as needed?
stupid gubbermint!
so I'm sure what we're going to do is continue giving the epo as ordered and report it as non covered to medicare.
only now they say that they consider non covered patient responsibility.
NO!
we are non profit. if we choose to eat the costs for the health of our patients, they can bite us!
and don't even get me started on the fact that Medicare thinks dialysis should only happen 3 times per week.

sigh.
I need passion in my job to survive.
but I've been black balled.
so I can't even discuss this crap anymore.
three months ago I had a meeting with the head of legal and the head of compliance about this and my views.
we scheduled a follow up meeting with the president of the company.
and now I'm blackballed.
and that meeting was "rescheduled" indefinitely.
all because I said "crap" in a training session.

so I sit here and don't work and collect my salary.
and die inside.

man.
I'm fun today.
ha!
and I've only had half a morning spark!

utah - just leave him in there on the potty. give him a sippy and a book.
and walk by every once and awhile and say "Go pee pee in the potty!!"
then after thirty minutes, put a diaper on him.

that's what we did with Jeanie all weekend. ha.
and she went ONE time.
yes, I just rolled my eyes fer real.
she is so stubborn!
but she will sit there indefinitely.
she'll yell "I'm done" and I'll say "No you're not. Go potty!" and go back to whatever I was doing.

ohhh!
put a baby gate in there and corral him.
ha!

or steal diapers from the other daycare buddies.

or find some of those old rubber training pants.
will those things contain the pee in the underwear? or does it get everywhere?
cuz if it contains it, you can request a large number of clean underwear be left and everytime he has an accident, put the wet undies (Don't even rinse them out!) in a grocery bag to send home!

or you can just talk to the mom like you did.
hehehehe.
I'm a wimp when it comes to confrontation. can you tell?

twinkie - you are completely justified in creating your own dosing instructions. what in the world does the doctor know? He sees how many kids a day?

ha! have I been put in my place?:rotfl:

Oh well. I have been on a phoning frenzy to reschedule my whole life. Left a msg at the dr office.

This is a new dr so she will have a chance to impress me with her dosing skillz. I am sure the other drs instructions work for normal children but ninja children spend a good part of each day doing gymnastics and rolling on the floor like puppies so when one gets something they all get it. Maybe it will be better now that the girls kind of understand "don't touch"

I have only said it 14 times this morning already.

Thanks for all the condolences. Utah next time wear the lucky socks!!!:rotfl:

But it is JUST a football game, after all. Not to say there wasn't some disappointment after the game, but the babynurse family doesn't stay down long.

Utah:
At least you are on to that tricky mama's "trick". She wants you to potty train. Tell her you'll do it for a bonus.:woohoo:

Twink: sorry about the pinkeye. Never a dull moment with kiddos, is it?

pumba:
have fun at the wedding.

nab:
32 is getting too cold for my blood. Bring back summmer!!! (told ya I go kicking and screaming)

Have a good day gang. I'm going shopping in a bit.

you got it guys........I will go with the redish and the blackish outfits.....rofl......you guys made me howl with laughter........to funny

Megan pees once in a while too and she is 18 months but heck no way would she be running around in big girl panties ........with wall to wall rugs ......naaaaaaaa.....or my furniture....let her sit on the kitchen floor.....naaaaa. tell her to get the inexpensive store brand pull ups if she wants to.....never mind......as soon as the kid pees a few dozen times on her carpet or furniture it will be a different deal......DIAPERS FOR EVERYONE.......

I will go tonight and visit mama and then go to Fashion bug and then another ladies store and get me an outfit........I hate to buy another set of clothes that dont have anything to do with jeans and sweatshirts.........

OH YAH........keep your hands away from your face and wash hands constantly and maybe you wont get the dreaded PINK EYEEEEEEEEE

no no no! I wasn't being sarcastic! I was being fer real!
he/she probably gives everyone the same dosing instructions - but they are your kids and you know that it reoccurs! therefore your instructions would be better!

Good morning!

We finished school at around 9:30. That might not seem like much time, but we were sitting at the table starting at 6:50. AND thankfully everything today was pretty easy. I'm going to make chili for dinner since it's nice weather! We've been able to have the windows open since Saturday. It is supposed to stay like this through the whole week! Yay!

I am feeling better. I felt really horrible yesterday. Every gland in my head/neck was swollen, but it feels much better today. I plan on going outside to wash the windows and clean the webs and bugs off the front porch. I also need to get the new little dresser into the boys room so I can get jeans out.

They cleared our lot on Saturday and he is supposed to get dirt there today! Yahoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Unfortunatly, we have to get rid of the debris. We are going to get a group of church boys and have them help. We'll just drag it out of site for now until the dirt has a chance to wash away and the branches dry out. Then next winter all that dried up wood will make great bonfires. ;)

I am off to make sandwiches and get outside. Kaleb is whining at my side about going outside.

Have a good day!

Big boy panties were wet before she even left my house. I've potty trained my 4 kids plus at least 20 foster kids. I'd be happy to do it her way! She is after all HIS mama, thus the expert. But, BUT, I will not just plop him on the pot and leave him there to unroll the toilet paper or play in the water. He's got 2 minutes tops, before some other child in the house needs me.

I am thankfully caught up on my chores and am considering doing my TR at nap time. I'm starting to get: popcorn:: 'ed.

Hi MommyP!!! Sounds like a great day you're having! ACK! I think I forgot you this morning! I will not list people anymore! I always miss someone important! So sorry!

Celery- More spark...hurry!

Ok y'all.
Here's a test for you.

Why is this ironic?

Pumba- I say go against the popular opinion and wear black and red ;)
Utah- Diapers are expensive. Just ask me how much I spent this week stocking up.:scared1: Goldenchild is almost 2.5 and only potty trained if he is nakey. So diapers at night. Pullups for all non nakey events which is everything. Also he had stomach upset which put him back in diapers full time for a couple of days. HOWEVER the unmitigated gall of the lady who wants you to potty train. Oh wait. Maybe she is a geen-yus... I will fed-ex the ninjaboy to you. Please return him completely potty trained. Also teach him his state capitals and all the sight words for grades k-3. Pleaseandthankyou.:goodvibes After of course you write some more trippie. We all know that popcorn:: is one step before lynching.
Celery- is that the same as the having to call the phone company to tell them that your line is dead? Don't worry I wasn't offended. I used to work in drug R&D so I feel fairly competent to figure out how to kill a pinkeye germ bug without od'ing my kid. Cause plants are the same as eyeballs- right?;)

MP- Hi lady! glad you are having nice weather. Are you trying to bring on labor by scrubbing windows while you feel sick?

Ding Ding Ding...(hi Kay!)

Just updated my little story, in case you are bored out of your ever-loving minds and would rather read my TR than be pecked to death by chickens. Gosh only knows the next time it'll be updated. popcorn::

Twinkie- Two in diapers (or 3!) is loads of fun for all involved. Especially if said children are in different sized dipeys. Can you guess who has NOT pee'd on the toilet for me? I even turned on the water like his mama said... I've taken him about eleventeen times too. :confused3 Maybe I should strap him to the pot?
