Hmmmmm, I had a lot of sodium today. I woulder if there is a good potassium supplement that I could take?

:confused3

GOOG MORNING! :sunny:

Crazy weather here. It was 65ish when I took the kids to school yesterdee and 47 when I picked them up. Now it's 50 and the sun's not up. :confused3 Anybody else ready for DST to end??? Nov. 4....I can't wait.

Mommy Brag Alert: Did I tell you that my oldest DD was one of only a dozen of the 400+ in her class who got all "distinguished" ratings on her standardized testing? Made all the more awesome when you know that many of her classmates are in an academic gifted/talented program. I take no credit. She is a gift from God and we didn't do anything to deserve her. She's just excited because she gets an automatic parking space and finals exemption.

MommyP! I'm so excited for you on the new home! That's wonderful! What a blessing! How old is your oldest? He must be a really goog reader! My DS is not reading chapter books on his own yet.

Lynette
....I am reading the Spiderwick Chronicles to DS and he is hooked! They are little books with lots of illustrations. Try those for your son.

Lil G....desk in the corner?! I would have thrown a fit too! You are a goog daddy.

NAB...So true about getting older. We wanted to be older to do all those things and now we're tired of them and just wish we were younger!

Wendy
....Are you feeling better? How's the jaw?

Celery...Was Twinkie at scary Kroger last night? I shop at Kroger but I call it "dirty" Kroger. Although if I shopped at night, I would prolly call it scary Kroger instead.

Marita, Moo, Javamom, BNCG, Twinks, DU, PJ, Pumba, Allie, Sandy, DTD and WT cuz I know you're out there.....:wave2:

HAVE A SPLENDID DAY!

GOOG MORNING, SUNSHINES!!!
From, yours truly

Lexi...sounds like our weather is exactly like yours. I like this temperature. I could live without the rain but I enjoy that it's cool enough that you need a jacket. This is my favorite. Has anyone seen Miss Congeniality (one of my top 5 favorite movies): "it's not too hotT and it's not to cold, all you need is a light sweater!"

Hope everyone has a peaceful and productive day.
:grouphug:

p.s. When you first turn the heat on what is a normal temperature to set it to?

PJ: Turn your heat to 90. Really, it will be fine. Your roomates will love you.:rolleyes1

Got places to go and people to see. Have a great morning Moooovers.

Luther - He is 7. When he was about 2ish he would play with his Leap Frog Alphabet Bus and learned a lot of letters and sounds on his own. I tried to get the other boys to play with that bus when they were little, they didn't want anything to do with it. I am very thankful that the first one I had to teach to read was easy!

Java - Sorry about your foot cramps! That stinks!

Celery - The only time of day we ever turn the Food Network on is late afternoon. Which is a BAD time to watch Food Network. Especially if you are having chicken. Again. (We have like 3/4 pound of stew meat in our freezer and ALL chicken. lol. Sweet Bay hasn't had any other goog sales, so we're still eating our chicken. I got 20 pounds of breasts last week when they were only .89 a pound. lol)

Actually last night's chicken was to die for! While I was making it Chad was questioning me. "What made you think of this?" "Is it a recipe?" He didn't trust me, although everything I've ever "made up" on my own has been goog. Only bad thing's I've cooked were bad recipes. Well, he was blown away. It was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOo yummy!

I need to go motivate the boys and get school started so we can get to the store after lunch.

Hope everyone has a good day!

morning everyone.....it is so so here today.......Megara and I slept in which is very unusual.......
Last night my mama had three pieces of the macaroni and that was it.....her dish was still in front of her and it looked like she may of had a few pieces of french toast...she didnt want her other meal......She also had about a half cup of milk...I had the nurse look at her eyelid cause it was scratched and she bled a little on it....my poor mama.......
Then we went to Walmart after and got some CANDY......I mean halloween treats .....I sort of slipped in a bag of candy corn....my most favorite halloween candy of all.....I even had a recipe for it someplace....so you could do all different colors and designs......

I am still in my housecoat so I had better get shaking......peace my friends.:hippie:

I LOVE that moovie too! Sooo quoteable. "I am for stricter gun control laws......... and world peace!"

My family doesn't trust me either.:confused3 Of course I firmly believe that recipes are just starting points.... actually everything I make is yummy IF you have a sophisticated palate which no one in my family does. However after ten years, I do a better job of pleasing the white-bread taste buds:rolleyes:

Hi Java- yes I have leg cramps at night- stretching before bed has really helped!

I am so thankful. DS is better and we had a good day for a sick day yesterday. It ran through his system pretty quickly. AND no little twinkies woke up in the middle of the night. I was expecting at least one or two to start being  They both went to bed complaining of stomachaches.

I will be lysoling my little heart out and doing :laundy:

I had a full night of sleep so I feel like Wonder Woman.

A big Shout Out from the prairie to Babynurse, Allie, Moo, Pumba, Cel & Tammy, Marita, Nab, Lexy, UD, L-dawg, Lil G and any Lurkers and of course anyone else I MAY HAVE MISSED ;) :flower3:

oh yah.......what is a brine turkey........do you salt it? Us Mainers do turkeys in the oven still......except the few that try out the big deep fried thingies.....My neighbor wanted one so bad and she got it and used it O N C E

The DIS won't let me add a witty edit to my last post.

ANYONE ELSE I MAY HAVE MISSED is of course code for UTAHMAMA

:rotfl: I crack myself up.

I miss you Wundertwin!

Important News!!!!

I have an appointment at 6 AM, 11/20/07 to start Grasshopper's Birthday Party!

That is only like 26 days away :faint::cloud9:

I'm really mad! I lost two pounds at the beginning of the week, but I only count my weight on fridays - and it's thursday and it's the same as it was last week! grrr.

so I'm gonna eat lots of sugar today to make it better. :rotfl2:

lex - I waited and waited for twinkie, but she didn't show! I kept peeking around the corner of aisles looking for a ninja in all black who is faaaar along -
but I didn't see one!

pumba - for your mom woes. we'll have to get utah or lex to give us the lowdown on the brine turkey - I'm guessing you soak it in salt water.

mommyp - I don't like ritz crackers, but I love it when they're cooked in something. mmmmm.
right now cracker barrel has an apple cheddar chicken that has ritz crackers on it. it's pretty dern goog.
have you tried corn flakes too? they give it a different taste.

Oh no! I haven't started grasshopper's burp clothes yet! Can you tell him to wait? hehehehe.

That is GREAT news!!!! I'm so excited for you.:yay:

Cel: I weigh myself once a week. That's it. No peeking, otherwise it will drive you insane. Don't lose sight of how far you have come. You're doing a terrific job.:thumbsup2

bn - I know, I know. no more peeking!

I typed out this really long whine, and then I deleted it. I'm trying not to be a whiner!

Twinkie - Why are you being induced? And why so early?
1. I am a wimp who thinks 36 weeks is an ideal amount of time to be pregnant.
2. For convienence. Mine mainly. My mom will be able to come and stay a couple of weeks at that time. Since we live far from family and don't know that many people here, the stress of finding round the clock just in case childcare is causing me anxiety.
3. My doctor is going out of town for Thanksgiving and given my history of going early we think it is pretty likely I would be having the baby around then anyways.

Ok I am laughing for reals here. Tooo funny MP! I can toadily picture the look on your face even though I have never seen you. All the other kids have birthdays in at expensive times to go and I have no problem celebrating birthdays not on the actual date of birth. The mythical 2008 trip is still on for AFTER the Thanksgiving rush. :thumbsup2

Cel-hugs! how your clothes fit (16!!!) is more important than your relationship to the mass of the earth

Thank you twinkie! This made me do a silent belly laugh! Just imagine what I'd weigh on the moon!!!! :lmao:
Thank you for putting it in perspective.

Anyone here get foot cramps at night?? I get them all the time and they really hurt.

I take calcium for this, it works! I used to get wicked charlie-horses in the arch of my foot or a calf or NECK :scared: ...whenever I don't take calcium for a few days, I get cramps again. Hope this helps (useful).

You soak the turkey in a new clean bucket which contains many ingredients. I'll see if I can copy the recipe from food network. You have got to try this. I swear it is the juiciest, most tender turkey ever! Gimme a minute after this post and I'll go on the hunt for the recipe for you!!!!
