Hi Mooooovers.

Wassup? I need to go to bed at a decent time. I need to catch up with y'all sometime soonish though.

Marita - is it just one resort that had the lunch? all employees? which one do you work for? are you allowed to tell us?

I was one resort, I am not going to post it here, you can pm me about it.

Hey, MP, you are up late! What's up with that?

Marita - Chad was watching The Man Whose Arm Exploded so I was playing games online. I was in bed at 10 though.

Not much to post here.

I need to be like Twinkie and get my house in order. It needs to be cleaned something fierce. But I just can't bring myself to do it.

Can't decide what to eat for breakfast. Nothing sounds good at all this morning. I've been eating american cheese melted on bread in the oven. But I don't even feel like that today.

Really I just want to crawl back into bed and stay there for 170 more days.

GOOD MORNING!

Just checking in to say hello!

Good news: the Clean Up Fairy came while I was in bed last night!!!

I woke up and the kitchen was clean this morning. I didn't unload/reload the dishwasher yesterday so I guess DH did it last night.

I've heard tell of such things but never experienced such.

MommyP....only one epidural for me...the first time. They didn't administer it till I was 8.5 cm so it never really took affect. I declined on the second one...big mistake. And the third came too fast. But I'm not a screamer either. I'm a "don't touch me or talk to me" laborer.

Moo!....Pinched nerve? I hope you feel better.

Twinkie
....Were your kids out playing in the rain? My kids LOVE to do that. And then there's all the wet clothes and the wet grassy floors. But. I try not to complain. I know they won't want to do that forever and who am I to squelch the joy? (I draw the line when there's thunder!)

EVERYBODY ELSE.... :wave2:

Gotsta get ready for work. Have a great day! :flower3:

Morning All,

I think it is going to be a fine summer day. After all our storms it got a bit cooler.

Mommy P-- what is american cheese is that like Kraft slices? Hard cheese? Breakfast is the hardest meal around here, no one wants to eat but will eat a snack an hour later which isn't breakfast food. So if it isn't too wild I will give in to what they want. Even if it is goldfish or a peanut butter sandwich.

I saw that show listed what Chad was watching but I didn't dare look.

Lexi-- I a the fairy around our house. I put pop in the fridge for hubby, clothes mysteriously get back in dressers, even the toilet paper is always plentiful...:lmao:

Hi Java! Hi Amy! Thanks for the wishes for a happy & healthy pregnancy!

I guess I'll just read the books from the library. I'm interested in some new breathing techniques and different massage Chad could do. I figured maybe I could make it even better. I had a much harder time maintaining control last time with my water broke so early. Much more painful.

I read Dr. Bradley's book and I reccomend it even if you plan a medicated birth. Lots of healthy tips for eating, exercise, etc. I like his philosophy.
But I am glad to hear your experience. My water always breaks first. With the twins no contractions for about 25 minutes and then labor, fast and steady. I got the epidural right before transition. My doctors had told me that an epidural was non negotiable with twins..... too many possible last minute complications and they wanted to be able to switch to a c-section at a momemts notice. No complications, no pitocin (till afterwards but that is nother story), two healty babies about 5 hrs from water breaking. Everything went so fast with going to the hospital, getting the epi, getting into a OR, etc that DH actually complained that he didn't have time to give me a back rub or eat any snacks like the lamaze class reccomended. With Goldenchild my water broke and an hour later I was having contractions but with lots of time between them. However his head wasn't engaged so it was flat on my back for me. (Please Babynurse or someone remind me that this was necessary because it was awful!) I KNEW if they let me walk around this baby would be here pronto but no. Not even potty breaks. I got the epidural fairly early because they were not letting me move anyway and being on my back was painful without contractions (it was pinching a nerve I think, all I know is that I was super uncomfortable and could hardly breath cause the baby was up in my ribs instead of where he ought to be).... anyways a long labor for me, 8 hrs for one baby. I think I had pitocin too. DH and the OB slept till the last minute. I labored all night while watching music videos because that was the level of mental stimulation I coud handle. I, like Lex, am a don't talk to me, don't touch me, I am working here kind of laborer. I know I am blessed. I hope this next one goes as well.

The first part is funny. Be like Twinkie. Ha! However I hear you on the crawl back into bed thing! It is cool and cloudy here. A perfect morning to sleep in and then read a goog book in bed. Instead I will be Mom. Sigh.

Another thought- check online MP to find out where you can take the bradley training... you could be a bradley instructor and charging 300$/couple ! I bet you would be awesome at it.

What does one leave out for the Clean Up Fairy? oatmeal? chocolate? beer? do tell!

and no my kids will NOT play in the rain... kids should want to right? water, mud, it is all good right? I think they were confused by the weather in the mid 70s after a month in NC. They said it was too cold outside! Looks like rain again today....

You are a gem Nab!

How are you feeling today Moo?

Marita- I bet that fancy lunch will do wonders for morale. Or cause a lot of whining of "if they can afford this lunch how come I don't get paid more!"
Have a good day at work!

Twinkie - I can't believe you went so fast on your first babies. Five hours is nothing to sneeze at! My water never breaks on it's own. So I have the luxury of laboring at home until it's time to go push. ;) Even with my first I was only in painful labor for like 3 hours at the most including pushing. With Seth I was at the hospital for like 1 1/2 hours before he was born. With Ethan it was less than an hour. Most of which was spent in triage. They always assume I am a first timer and since I don't appear to be in much pain they just put me in a room and leave. Thankfully Chad is there to deliver if need be. ;) When they finally checked me with Ethan I was 7. They brought me upstairs and I was 8. My midwife broke my water and they tried to take my blood and ask me all those questions in the 10 minutes before I was pushing. I only pushed like 2-3 contractions. Kaleb was late and since our hospital NEVER has rooms available one of the midwives talked me into coming in and letting them break my water. I was already effaced and dialted some and he was low. So I came in the next morning and they broke my water. I went right into labor with some walking. I can't believe how much having the water still intact acts like a epidural of it's own making. ;) I did NOT enjoy his labor like the other 2 super easy ones. So, hopefully I won't cave again this time and I'll just wait until I go into labor myself.

I have thought about teaching childbirth classes and being a doula one day when my kids are all grown. The woman who taught our classes was pathetic. We talked more about getting an epidural and c-sections than natural childbirth. :confused3 I got nothing from them. Everything I know I learned from having my older sister there with me for number 1.

I got most the house vacuumed. But now I'm off to finish.

However his head wasn't engaged so it was flat on my back for me. (Please Babynurse or someone remind me that this was necessary because it was awful!)

Was your water broke? That is the only reason I can think of why they would make you lie flat on your back until his head was engaged (so the cord wouldn't prolapse) Otherwise, gravity is the best way to move a baby down.:confused3 sounds horrible.

In defense of childbirth educators, a myriad of subjects are covered in a general childbirth class. if you want specifics on natural childbirth, then we suggest a lamaze a bradley class. But that's just our policy.

Besides, by now, you could probably teach the class, right?

:wave2: the moooovers. hope you had a good one.

Yes. My water breaks first before I have any "real" contractions. That is just how I roll. With the twins, Baby A's head was engaged for weeks before I went into labor .... with Goldenchild... to quote the OB "we don't even have a number to describe how far away this kid is"

Actually the same was true for Baby B... A was born, I was feeling GREAT. In fact my body thought I was done. No contractions at all for 11 minutes. Baby B was way up there. I asked if I could have a break. OB said no and started to give orders for a pitocin drip and for two nurses to start shoving little baby B towards the light. I said um "Helk NO! Everyone stand back and gimme some room to work here" ... ok so maybe not in those words. 4 minutes later baby B (aka Twinkerbell) was born without any pitocin or shoving. She was only 4 lbs 14 oz. Easy peasy.

Goldenchild was not a fun labor. Not having the baby's head to act as a cork means with every contraction you get another wave of amniotic fluid. So I basically had a water birth. Minus the tub and Enya in the background. My nurse was great though... a big help and and fun to talk too (since the men where all snoozing). At the time I wished I had gone to walmart to walk around instead of to the hospital. Once they found out my water had broken they put me in a wheelchair to take me to tirage. I didn't even get to walk down the hall! And I like to do all the stuff you are supposed to do in labor- naturally I want pace like a cat, and I like to be standing during contractions.

Oh well.

If this is a linear progression, Grasshopper should be born on time, weigh 9 lbs and I should have a 9 hour labor.

Not to change the subject, ladies, but to change the subject:eek: , yes, Kraft slices are American cheese. Not hard, but not a soft cheese. Lots of milk makes it a little floppy. Melts nicely to make grilled cheese sammiches. We use it as work to make macaroni and cheese. It gives good consistancy.

Hey, if you want to hang with the ladies you gotta live with the girl talk. ;) Why do you think there aren't many men around here? :rotfl:

Nab - Sorry I forgot to answer that! It's kraft slices like DTD said. I get the 2% ones.

Thanks Donald. Can't see making mac and cheese with cheese slices though. We have Kraft slices here but we don't call it american cheese....:lmao: And we do have a Kraft factory about half hour away. Not sure which Kraft product is made there.

I got my hair cut today. I go just across the street. Our neighbour is a hairdresser. Anyway I took Hannah with me. She has been bugging to get her hair cut shorter because the girls in her class did. I got a good three inches off last time. Anyway the neighbours little girl had her long hair cut off and it looked really cute. So I gave in....it is now to her shoulders. She loves it and says it looks like so and so in her class. I think it looks cute. Hubby is going to freak I think and we are going to see my Mom tomorrow she is really going to freak. I took some pictures I will have to get hubby to put them on the computer when he gets home if he doesn't kill me first....:lmao: She has always had long hair.

I can handle the talk. just my weird sense of humor to squeeze in an answer to Nab's question. And didja ever wonder what they call Swiss cheese in Switzerland? But, to make it clear, I don't know nothin 'bout birthin no babies.

:wave2: Howdy, all . . .

Another busy day at work. TG tomorrow's Friday is all I can say.

My hip is still ouching, dang it, so I am going to try the hot tub again tonight. That seemed to help a little last night. Goog thing it's not a constant pain. I am getting a half hour chair massage tomorrow, so I'm going to have her work on that area most of the time.

DTD, I don't have any horrific childbirth stories to share. My labor was pretty straightforward and I only had the one DD! My hubby snoozed through most of my labor, so I'd have to say I was in the don't talk to me or touch me category too. My MIL marveled that I did so well with no drugs (little did she know, it was mostly because I didn't want to carry on in front of her, LOL).

My laptop has been acting up the last couple days, so tonight before I got on here I saved all of my important files onto a memory stick in case it decides to go on strike. I'm going to run a virus check to make sure that's not the problem again. Word docs just don't seem to want to open up. Instead of a black screen at startup, my screen is all mottled. So I'll see you guys later after I run the virus check (HOPEFULLY)!!!

Not to change the subject, ladies, but to change the subject:eek:
 Oh DTD! I thought you were on vacation already. So sorry. First Celery with her deoderant reviews and now this, the Mecca of Girl Talk... Birth stories.

So if this has already been covered, forgive me... but how about a little introduction.... what do you do for a living? for fun? who is going on the all guys trip? what is your favorite thing about WDW?

But, to make it clear, I don't know nothin 'bout birthin no babies.

:faint: and now you are quoting GWTW:love:

"Well, Miss Scarlett, she did help a little"

Last edited by Minnie_Moo : Today at 07:35 PM. Reason: Nab, my hubby always wanted our DD to have long hair too - they might feel differently if they were doing the detangling!

Yep. DH was very opposed to every haircut. Princess had ringlets when she was young. 20 minutes a day just detangling, combing and re-ringleting. Yet for some unknown reason he cut Goldenchild's hair when he was like 12 weeks old (after I asked him not too)... his big mistake was the baby was AWAKE. Poor kid had a bald spot.

I am back. No viruses. Maybe I'll have a geeky friend at work take a look at my laptop.

Gee, where is Marita tonight? And Celery, Uma, and Pumba???

TwinkieMama: Hi, Ive followed you for a while. Your trippies were the first I read (at least all of), then followed links to Uma. I'm a cook at a children's behavioral hospital. We serve them is a cafeteria rather than delivered to their units. I'm a huge women's basketball fan, having not missed a Western KY University Lady Topper home game in 22 years and attending about half the road games. I also follow men's bball, football, women's volleyball, etc ad infinitum. And of course, I'm a Disney addict. On here, recently, CeleryStalker and Dabluestreaker and I have found we have mutual friends.
The guys going with me in Sept all have never been to Disney. We're 1000 pounds of man divided up pretty evenly. All from Kentucky and all went to WKU. I grew up in Louisville and live in Bowling Green now and they all live near Louisville. Durn, that red car is gettin close to the end.

DTD, that's pretty cool that you're doing an all guys trip to WDW! I did a New Years trip with four girlfriends from high school this past January and it was great fun. But we found out after the fact that we're NOT the greatest photographers. We hardly had any group photos. I had taken the most people pictures, but my camera crapped out before the trip was over. Fortunately, my hubby was able to recover the photos that I had taken off the corrupted SD card. Needless to say, I'm getting a new camera and going to be better prepared for our upcoming meet!!!

Are you doing free dining? Golfing? What do you have on your itinerary?! Too bad we won't
overlap.

Good thing now viruses Moo.

Hannah went on a sleep over at the neighbours tonight so she is not home. Hubby will have to wait for his surprise.....:lmao: Honestly I didn't do that on purpose. She begged to go.

We have swimming in the morning so I hope they are getting some sleep. The other girl is only 8 so I think they will. I had her over here last week and there was no problem.

Donald -- Are you an over planner or go with the flow?

Edit--- This is post 4000!!!!!! MOOOOHOOOTY :woohoo:
