P.J-- I think it does have to do with the Jonas Brothers but to me it reminds me of Brittnay Spears in that one video.:lmao:

Babynurse --Yes Nicholas is one big boy for 12. His new shows are a 12 1/2 . I am trying to find the picture we took of Stephen King's house for you but I don't know where my hubby put it under. :confused3

Sandy-- I will go check out that thread. Are you watching Big Brother?

PJ - no controversy about the President's Speech??
You know, there really wasn't. There was an email this morning from the principal telling us we needed to show it and that it wasn't optional. However, my little gems were off at art class when it was showing so I got off the hook. The art teacher did show it in her room. I, however, did not watch it in my room.

I am not well-versed in Brittany but apparently the tie look is all the rage. Who woulda thought?

Guess what time I got home from work today? 1:17 AM!!!! :scared1:

Longest workday to date in this job!

The new director wanted some labor changes made, and a manager had trouble tieing out the final budget submittal that was due end of day today. So there we stayed to get it done. Someone went to Wendy's to get dinner, but I was tied up until my burger was cold, so I never did eat it. But I DID have some chocolate.

NAB, ITA agree the kids and the basement. Hannah looks adorable, and Nicholas got so big!

Sandy, I'll go read that trippe now (or start anyway), I got to get my mind calmed down some before I go to bed. At least I can be at work a little late tomorrow.

nab - I love Hannah's hair!

Moo - Member's services won't talk to me! I left you a voicemail cuz I need magical express added.

pumba - hope you're having a good time!

Thanks for all the prayers and pixie dust!
the neurologist can't see alli until next week. :sad2:
argh.
I don't know if she should be left alone all day in the park. I'm scheduled to volunteer at give kids the world one day while we're down there.
what do you all think?

peej - hollywood is a freak trekkie and she's scared of internet people? Weird.

I approve of the mealworm decision. less traumatic if they die.
we need a cookie update!
I won't ask on facebook again so Eren won't freak out.

Marita! CRAZY! I think you need to apply for your old job.

Happy 09-09-09!!!

But more importantly... HAPPY BIRTHDAY MICHAEL BUBLE! I MIGHT have already wished him that on his youtube channel. hee!:lovestruc

NAB - Hannah's hair is beautiful!!! Love her clothes too, my DD would also love them. :rolleyes1

Ok, my new gutters got to demonstrate their stuff yesterday. No leaking from the corners, or the waterfall that was falling from DD's room over the kitchen windows. :thumbsup2 Although, they put one of our downspouts in the middle of the kids bedroom windows, which is in the middle of the back wall of the house. :confused3 When I asked about it, they said it wouldn't drain right when they put it back in its original spot. I guess I don't care, since it isn't three inches away from the house anymore. It's just weird looking since it is in the middle of the wall and not on the edge. Maybe that's why the other one broke loose, maybe too much water and too much pressure on that one side? I don't know, but I am happy with the new gutters and bigger downspouts. Although, DH was NOT happy that he had to pay the gutter man today, and bring up the fact of the oddly placed downspout. :rolleyes1 DH said that it will probably be the first thing someone asks us to change when we go to sell our house. :rotfl2: Well, I have watched enough HGTV to know that people usually don't fuss about oddly placed downspouts. :snooty:

Oh, and for those of you that have read my FB status today.....Please say a prayer for the Nash and Roberson families today. Dr. Nash was my DS 2nd grade teacher, and her 31 year old son was found dead on his driveway yesterday. He failed to show up at Mother's Day Out to pick up his daughters, and when the wife called a neighbor, she went over to the house and found him on the driveway. The wife is only 30, and is now a widow. My heart just breaks for all of them. I do have the assurance that he is in heaven now, and is much happier there. :littleangel: The Nash family has had a lot to deal with in their family. When my DS was in her class, her oldest daughter had a car accident that flipped her Ford Explorer several times, and she has had a long slow recovery from it. It crushed everything from her waist down. So, if you are so inclined, please say a little prayer for them, and for the two little girls who have now lost their daddy.

Cel - Check your voice mail and please give me a call at the work number I left for you!

8 pages till a new thread....

Nab On and off with BB - I'm following the tweets - AGrodin the producer is promising "expect the unexpected"
Looks like Round 2 will be live on Thursday. Final 3 will go to the Finale and battle it out in Round 3. Never has happened like that before... its confusing Nat/Kev

Moo How are you?

Marita they couldnt get along without you!! Hope you are getting noticed for all you are doing!!

I took the plunge and made dh and dd and I make those MM Tie Dye shirts - we need more practice!!

I tried to fix dd blue MM head with a bleach pen - it got blotchy! :sad2:

Allie-- how sad for that family. Glad you got your gutters sorted out. But I still don't want it to rain. Our news said we got 39 days of rain this summer. :sad2: I tell you the rage is ties. We got that outfit at Macy's I think when we were on holidays. No Macy's or J.C Penny here.

Sandy-- Those shirts look great. The kids have a few tye dye shirts they made at birthday parties and when we were camping at a KOA. I wouldn't know how to make the mickey heads in the middle.

Like I said, I did nothing to Hannah's hair. Her hair is really curly when she wakes up. I just ran my fingers though it. If we brushed it goes fuzzy. Nicholas has the same hair only he doesnt' even run his hand though he goes out with bed head.

Marita...1:17am??!!! Now that's some dedication right there. I hope today goes much more smoothly and you get off at a reasonable hour.

Celery...Many of the mealworms were already dead by the time I got to them this afternoon. You see, they arrived over a week ago in this little container. I was supposed to take them out immediately and put them in the baby food mixture but that got done in Peej time. So, once I put them in the mixture today I got to take a tweezer and pull out the dead ones. There were 200 mealworms and 200 waxworms to sort through. Just sayin.
p.s. did I ever tell you that celery was a spelling word last week? No joke.

Happy 09-09-09!!!

But more importantly... HAPPY BIRTHDAY MICHAEL BUBLE! I MIGHT have already wished him that on his youtube channel. hee!:lovestruc
Oh for the love of all things holy. This deserves multiple eye rolls. And I don't even care if you go tell your bff. I'll just text the pope.
:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Allie...good news about the gutters. Ha. I'll remember that family in my prayers. How very sad.

Sandy...cool shirts! I think they look great! :dance3:

PeeJ, not dedication, I was forced!

Sandy, not getting extra recognition, it's expected when the chips are down. They could do just fine without me and get some other person (have I mentioned I want OUT?)
Love the shirts!

Allie, YAY for new gutters. Sorry for that poor family :grouphug:

Today was a much better day. I finally getting to bed at 3 am, I made it to work around 11 and left shortly after 5, then worked some more until about 7. I was still logged into work without actually doing any work, and got a meeting invite for 8:30 am. I made a very strategic mistake by hitting "accept" on reflex, I should have just ignored it. But alas, I guess my only excuse now is to say I forgot about it. I would have to leave the house by 7:40 the latest, I dont usually even wake up till then (on a good day!), but I set 1 alarm even earlier than it already goes off, which takes an hour at least to reach my brain, so we shall see. It's not my field of expertise anyway, so if I miss, so what?
I printed out my calendars for the next 4 months today, and my list of available time off. I need to plot out vacation time and potential mental health days :rolleyes1

Found out that for our potluck Friday they are providing subs and cold cuts and there will be a cake, so getting dessert from Publix is out. Lots of people are bringing main dishes and veggie casseroles. DS suggested getting potatoe salad from Publix. Not a bad idea, maybe put it in a bowl and get German potatoe salad to go with the theme.

Tomorrow is lunch at Sanaa, should be interesting. I havent seen that whole addition yet.

2 more work days...........

What significance does this have?

It is Knitfreaks wedding day!!! :bride:

Also had not thought about this: I had heard about mass wedding happening on 06-06-06, etc. But on the radio today they said after 2012, it will be well past out lifetimes that there will by any other dates like that. Nothing after 12/12/12. I think the closest would be 01/01/2101. I for sure won't around then.

WTH?????????????

Not a single, solitary post today? What is going on???????

Lunch at Sanaa was ok, I had the bread service, mostly without the accompaying dips.

After lunch I ran to Publix to get ingredients for the 7 layer taco dip I am going to make for tomorrows pot luck. The total came to $16.71 :scared1:

I'll have to think of something cheaper next time, but I consider it a worthwhile experiment this one time. I went this afternoon because I did not want to have to go after my meeting that ended at 5:30, so it would have 6:30 by the time I even got home to go shopping.
Well, good thing I did, I got stuck at work till 7pm :sad2:

So now I just finished up some work, and getting ready to start on my dip experiment ...........

Marita - All of our regulars who have kids must be keeping busy with homework and such this week! Hope knitfreak's wedding was nice. Sorry you had to work late again. I planned to telecommute today, but hubby wasn't feeling well, so I ended up going into work because it's too hard to concentrate when he's here running the TV

Sandy - Love your tie-dye Mickey shirts!!! I'm doing fine. Still trying to get to my 100 lb weight loss. 3 more lbs to go and I'm having a bit of a stall  Hopefully, I'll get there by vacation next week (fingers crossed)! It'll probably be a while before I can get down to Chicago :(

Allie - Glad you got your gutters fixed :) When we had our siding put on, the contractors never put ours back on, so we ended up pitching them. I really would like to get ours redone, but it'll probably wait until our house is paid off in a few years.

Peej - You are happier to have WORMS in your classroom this year??! Ugh!!! I got a good laugh over Hollywood being a Star Trek geek :lmao: I'm hoping to spot her during this trip. Maybe you should give her a heads up so she isn't freaked out if I say hello!!!

bbn - Yep, my hubby's a major ST fan. Fortunately, most of his collectibles are pretty well corralled in his room, although the top shelf of one of the china cabinets in the dining room has his stuff on it . . . pewter starship models, NASA crap, and the like.

Nabbie - I never realized Hannah's hair was SO curly! What a cutie pie :goodvibes

From an e-mail I recieved today:

Mahatma Gandhi, as you know, walked barefoot most of
the time, which produced an impressive set of calluses on his feet. He
also ate very little, which made him rather frail and with his odd
diet, he suffered from bad breath. This made him (oh, man, this is so
bad, it's good)... a super-calloused fragile mystic hexed by halitosis.

That made me LOL, Moo :laughing::laughing::laughing:

They totally LIED on the recipe site about prep time for the 7 layer Taco dip. 5 mins prep time, it said. Yeah, maybe if you BUY shredded lettuce, diced tomatos and thinly slices scallions! At least I DID buy the shredded cheddar ($6.49 for 2 cups). It took me 2 hours with chopping 1 thing at a time, putting it in a dish, cleaning the chopping board and utensils, mixing refried beans and taco mix, cleaning the bowl, sitting down, chop more, clean more, mix next thing, you get the picture!

Anyway, at least its done now and chilling in the fridge. I still have to eat something for dinner.

Moo, I cant belive your trip is next week :yay:

Found out something else today while at preschool. The wife of the man that died on Tuesday, had planned a surprise Disney trip for all of them either for next week or the following week. So sad!

They have released that it was a heart attack. He had an enlarged heart, and had mowed the grass, and it was HOT Tuesday. I was sweating just walking around the house looking at my gutters. The funeral is tomorrow, but it is during my preschool hours. :sad2:

It will be well attended considering that his mom is a teacher in our City School system, and his dad is in charge of Personnel in our County School system and his sister is a teacher in the County system. Plus the church that he and his wife attend is HUGE. Say a little prayer for all of them, but especially his dad, he is taking it very hard, as any father would. My friend told me that the wife is holding up very well. I'm sure she is still in shock.

Allie - Sending prayers for that family. I meant to do that earlier tonight. Those situations are so sad, but it sounds like the wife and kids will have a good support network.

Marita - I've made that taco dip before and it is a lot of work!

One week from today (since it IS after midnight) Guess I'd better get to bed.

Since I won't be on here until tomorrow night:

Hi, just checking in.

Allie: Sad sad story. I am thinking of them.

Moo: WooT on one week to go!

Marita: Didn't realize you were working such strange hours???

PeeJ: Better you than me, I may have to call in sick for that lesson. Maybe even forget to order the worms????!!!!

I submitted my paper work to a local school district for my 40 hours of classroom observation. Might be placed as early as next week. Very excited.

My highschool 20th reunion is tomorrow. Finally. Last minutes all came in this week. I'm expected 40 to pay at the door.:sad2: That money could have been better used for so many things I wanted to do, but couldn't afford. Oh well, I'll think of something.

Treading water with my on-line math class.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

I lost 9 1/2 pounds so far.
