:thumbsup2I booked my airfare.
I arrive at 10:50, which should give me time to enjoy saratoga springs before MNSSHP.
Thanks again, Moo!
You're welcome, Cel! I hope we get a goog location there.

I'm thinking that that day I may end up going to the Food & Wine Festival for tasting around the world in lieu of lunch before heading to MK. That will be the first day. It may depend on whether I buy an annual pass and what my sis and her friend end up getting ticket-wise. Or maybe they'll do a soft opening the day before so we can try some things before the crowds descend.

Marita! 11 pm and you still haven't eaten tonight??!!!

Lynette - You should've been pampering yourself instead of washing the floor!
ITA with your sentiments about MJ and Farrah.

What a day.

I ate at 11:40

I saw MJ walk into the Grand wearing his face mask back in the day. Just sayin' , he wouldnt know me from Adam... Oh, make that past tense.

I am brain dead!

Jonny Deoo is on Letterman tonight, but I think I will turn it off and go to bed

How I wish I could post about report cards, basement remodeling, flight booking, or vacations.

still working....

but I need to get some dinner first.

Marita, I would much rather be posting about flight bookings and vacations too. If you need me, I'll be in my usual spot on the couch. :rotfl:

Nah, Moo. It's all good.....I also managed to get some laundry done. :woohoo: I feel like I was able to accomplish some stuff with everyone out of the house. Even Mojo stayed out of the way....he went into my mom's and took a nap. He's not too sure about the bucket I use to wash my floors. When he sees it, he runs and hides under something.

I am off to bed now. Sweet dreams, ladies (and lurkers).

Thanks for being so compassionate!

I'm off to bed too, not getting anything accomplished at this hour.

Morning all....

First official day of summer vacation here!

Lessons and camps haven't started yet so I should have slept in. Nicholas is and Hannah is next door at a sleep over.

We had a wicked storm go though yesterday. I think we are in for some weird weather this summer just like our spring.

Marita-- to bad the two of you can't switch jobs. Can you look for something else there that you could apply for?

Mommy p-- I hear you on the cost of eating out. That is why we avoid other places. Even Wendy's is expensive for us and I like it better but McDonald is it.

When I do eat fast food, I'm a dollarmenunaire! :thumbsup2
but I love chick fil a's diet lemonade. it's yummy and I can actually have it cuz it's made with splenda.
but I can't really eat anything there - everything is breaded.
they might have grilled chicken sandwiches, but since I can't eat the bun, I don't want to pay that much for a piece of chicken.

mcdonald's double cheeseburgers rock. I eat them without the bun and it's like 25 grams of protein for what USED to be a dollar.
lately some places are charging more. darn them!

I'm in the tucson airport right now, if any stalkers are interested.
I set my alarm for 4:15 this morning. (it's pacific time, so it's not THAT early).
then I kept hitting snooze until 5.
so I jumped up, rushed getting ready - ran down to the car and realized it was 4:30 in the morning. :headache:

oh well.
since I had extra time, I'm enjoying a steak and onion omelet. it was really good!

Howdy Moovers!!!

Wow, what a week!! Ed McMahon, Farrah, and MJ. RIP :angel::angel:

Well the kids spent the night with their Granny last night, and I get them back this morning, only to turn around and go to the DMV and trade in DS slip of paper, he earned from Driver's Ed., for a REAL license. :scared1::scared1::scared1:

PSA - Do NOT come drive in AL! :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: No, he's doing really well, but the defensive driving is what is still being developed. ;)

He's very excited, and I am very nervous. :scared:

So CEL, you are meeting Moo in Disney? Cool!! Oh, and that poster is the reason all prepubescent males had that poster hanging in their room during the 70's.:rotfl:

MommyP - Glad to see "she" has turned around for ya'. :thumbsup2

Nabbers - Happy Summer Vacation to all of you! :sunny:

Marita - Don't work too hard.

Twinks - Sending you A/C! :)

WT -

Lynt
- Take some time for you today. :goodvibes Those floors will be shiny clean :cool2: until little feet get back home. :rolleyes1

Hi to Peej, Sandy, Wendy, BBN, and all the rest of y'all! :wave2:

Thanks for the A/C Allie. I have it cranked. All the way to 79.

Moo- I was looking for your before/after pics but can't find them. Did they poof?

MP-I hope Baby Poppins is indeed vertex... and going to need pink bedding. ;)

It is amazing how much you can get done around the house when you are not leaving every 12 minutes to shuttle some child to some activity. Grasshopper fell asleep in the highchair this morning while eating a mid morning snack. Obviously the "rat race" is catching up with him as well.

I am planning our summer trip where we load up the minivan and drive to east coast and tour the grandparents. Due to all sorts of things like job schedules, phases of the moon, softening of the economy when we drive back it will just be me, my dad and the twins. Everyone else is flying. So instead of trying to cross the country as quickly as possible we are planning to do some sight seeing/a more road-trippy adventure.

Any suggestions on activities/sights/restaurants that would interest seven year old girls in Nashville or St. Louis?

My dad wants to visit a high end guitar shop in Nashville... and of course we were planning on going to the arch since the girls have only seen it from the window. Any other thoughts Moovers? TIA

I happen to know a lawyer and a stalker who know about both of those cities!!!! :thumbsup2

The Frist Center for the visual arts.
Outstanding kids section! Kids are free too. I'm not sure what exhibit is on now or later for this summer, but I'll look it up.
do NOT miss the kid section. it's called Artquest and is on the second floor. there are always several exhibits that relate to the exhibit downstairs -
like when African cloth art was on display, the kids got to make their own print on a piece of cloth. that's probably still there.
when it was stained glass, there was that cool transparent paper that you can color with markers and it looks like stained glass.
they have figure drawing, a big piece of plexiglass so two people can draw with dry erase markers and make a collaborative art work.
and the kids get to keep an online portfoilo (probably not too beneficial for a one time guest) of all their work.

if they're into science (and being your kids, how could they not be?!?!?!) the adventure science center is TONS of fun!

I'm guessing you'll be driving through the knoxville area too - wonderworks in pigeon forge is both science AND art kid friendly exhibits - and it's not too far off the interstate.

if you want to go to the aquarium in gatlinburg, that'd be cool, but it's a good ways off the interstate.

I'd forgo the country music hall of fame in Nashville unless you're just REALLY desperate. it's way too expensive. I've never been cuz I'm a cheapskate.

not sure which guitar thing your dad wants to see. there's some big one downtown and then the gibson showcase at opry mills.

at any rate, a certain stalker works in downtown nashville and wouldn't mind to have lunch with the twinkies.

or you can be too cool like peej.
:snooty:

Marita-- to bad the two of you can't switch jobs. Can you look for something else there that you could apply for?

I dont want to particularly go back to where I came from, I was there for 3 1/2 years. And I am pretty much stuck till September, when budgets are over. Finally got targets out to the hotels today, so it should get better now. It was supposed to be around noon, but we didnt finish till around 4.
And I could apply for positions in other areas, but at this stage of my career, I would rather stick with what I know. Only a few short years to go............. At least I dont have to do any work tonight. I put in close to 60 hours a week for the last month.

Nab, yay for summer vacation!

Twinks, yay for summer vacation trip!

Allie, good to see you post!

MP, the baby turned? How did I miss that? YAY to that too!

We had quite a storm around 11 am today, rain was blowing sideways. I thought of the BBN clan. But it didnt last long, thankfully.

Just ate dinner, I think I will crochet for a bit. Any work can wait till this weekend.

Twink - I hadn't posted progress pics on here so far, but there were some photos from my sister's birthday party over on FB.

Now that I'm three months out though and close to 70 lbs lost, I'll share my before and current photos. Bear in mind that the current pics are a little closer up than the before pics. I've only gone down one size. Most people are noticing that my face and upper body have changed. Hopefully, my hips and thighs will start melting faster and I'll be fitting into smaller size clothes soon!

*POOF!* PM me if you want to see the pics. I PMed them to Twink since she wasn't around tonight.

Thanks, Marita! You'll be seeing me in September ;)

I'm hoping to have hit at least 100 lbs off by then. I now weigh about 20 lbs less than I did during out September 2007 meet. w00t!!!

Your shrinking Moo!!!! You look great.

Hannah had a play date today that turned into a sleep over. They are still up banging around up there.

Nicholas has a birthday party/ sleep over tomorrow night.

Poor Hubby he just wants to get the trailer out but we have something to do every weekend.

Marita--how many more years until you retire?

Marita--how many more years until you retire?

At best 3 years. My problem is, I dont know what to do in my free time once I retire. Unless we move to some retirement community with lots of activities. Which would probably be best for me, but hubby and I haven't discussed it so far.

Marita-- I think I would stay put then too. I can't see you in a retirement home.....and doing activities. I see you more sitting on your couch with a glass of wine and your computer.

Hubby and I were talking rugs for the basement and he asked when I thought Buddy would start peeing on the rug.... I told him not for a long time maybe 10-11 years. He said we would be retired by then and maybe one of the kid would take him when they left.

Don't know what we would do in retirement either but we have a ways to go yet.

I cant do that all day long!

Yeah, good luck with the kids taking the pets. Both of mine can't (claim they want to, but apt. restrictions, etc.) so be prepared to be stuck with any pets.

Thanks for being so compassionate!

:rotfl: You know I feel for you!

Lynt[/B] - Take some time for you today. :goodvibes Those floors will be shiny clean :cool2: until little feet get back home. :rolleyes1

Allie, congrats and good luck being the mom of a new driver!

You were right....my floors were clean until DH and the moppets came traipsing in last night. Apparently, the store was near some sort of nature trail which they felt compelled to walk. They managed to bring a good portion of that nature back with them and into my kitchen and mudroom. so now the floors need another good once-over. Oh well, at least I tried, right?

Oh, we had a doozy of a storm last night too! A huge boom of thunder woke me up around 3am this morning. Shook me right out of a sound sleep! There was some stunningly beautiful lightning to accompany the noise. I sat up in bed and watched it for a good 20 minutes. Truly the power and force of God at work!

Sure you can Marita....I do it all the time. When my BIL is here he must wonder why I am always sitting in front of the computer.:lmao:

I think that is what is going to happen with Buddy too. They will have busy lives I'm sure. Hopefully go off to higher education so I shouldn't complain.
