Allie - Yay for your daughter feeling better. Sounds like a good plan not to take her with you to work. Our child to work day was today in conjunction with the Earth Day festivities. The only thing I was sorry about missing today was seeing my coworkers' kids/grandkids. It's been kind of fun seeing them grow up from one year to the next. That would be so cool if you could see Cel and her mom this weekend! :goodvibes I'm with Marita, we must see pics.

Marita - Sounds like you've got a great plan to make your flight more bearable!

I just finished SOME homework and thought I'd check in. Quiter than I thought.

Maddy's a perfect candidate for tubes. Today she kept getting frustrated with her ear pain and I caught her shaking her head and slapping her ear.

She didn't do well on the audiology tests. That's upset me, some.

I will get a call in 2 weeks to schedule her surgery. We did this 3 times with Zack. She is totally his clone.

she's been sleeping pretty good so far tonight. Last night was a more restfull night but I still had to get up cause her coughing was making her gag/bring stuff up.

She had a happier day, so the meds are working.

Moo: Did you get my text?

Twinks: That was a funny twitter.

MP: How cool you had some one on one time with the baby.

LilG: I'm very curious as to how the Lions are gonna use there #1 draft pick. Soooo many rumors and speculations.

Rememebr that hockey player I babysat for, played for State, well he's in the pros! Minor stuff, but he's on his second team since State ended their season in North Carolina. Keeps taking steps up. Being recruited or looked at with NY Rangers, Calgary Flames, and there was one more that I can't remember, maybe Chicago Blackhawks.

Ok, I'm gonna pass out. Nighty night.

Marita - Sounds like you've got a great plan to make your flight more bearable!

Looks like I will need it more than I thought!

When I reserved my seat way bck when, I had a row of 3 seats to myself, in hopes of spreading out. Checked back a few times, still looked good. Middle of the plane.
Tonight, ALL BUT 4 seats are booked, only 4 in the very back corner by the restrooms.

What is better, the potential of having at least 1 extra empty seat by the restroom (mostly a night flight), but last to be served for refreshments, or middle of the plane as a sardine? On the plus side, easy to ask a flight attendant for a beverage if needed.
Any opinions? This is an 8 hour flight.

Return flight still looks good, 2 empty seat next to me, 1 empty row ahead and behind. But I bet that will change soon too.
Whatever happened to people not having money to travel? :confused3

Allie, sorry about the tubes. Poor baby! Luckily I never had to deal with those, but DD had a heck of a time with having wisdom teeth smashed to pieces and pulled out, that was awful!

Dang, better get to bed................

Marita - That was Monica's baby that needed tubes. Mine has just been running fever. Although, she has been fever free since yesterday afternoon. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. ;)

Twink: I have been known to sing in the rain. But good riddance to the rain. kwim? :boat: :umbrella:

Cel: I saw your wdw pics. Definitely a hott college chick.

Everybody: I'm around. and a square. I read back. Too much to comment on. But hugs to those who need them and woo hoo's to those who deserve them and hi's to all the rest.

Babynurse -- I am sure the arcade lifted your spirits.... You must have great reflexes and vision I tell ya. :lmao:

Hope all the sick kiddies are doing better.

Marita-- Your trip is coming fast. 8 hours is a long time, sorry you won't be able to stretch out anymore.

Moo-- our bring you kid to work day is only for grade 9 students. So Nicholas has 3 more years until he can go to work with hubby. He goes to work with me everyday......:lmao:

Starting June 1st it will cost us 5 cents to buy a plastic bag at the grocery store. I have my cloth bags and baskets so I am not worried. But sometimes I do forget them, then that is going to cost me.

Wonder if my BIL is coming to work on the basement today....he isn't here yet and no phone call at all yesterday. :confused3 I know never hire a relative.....

Nab - Geez. 5 cents per bag to bag your groceries? Environment shmironment. ;) I would totally make my own cloth grocery bags(Those cheapy ones the stores sell for a buck each would never last long) if Walmart had a place to actually bag grocerys. I don't know how they do it with the cloth bags with those stupid wheel things. I can just see all the ticked off people in line behind me while I took time to put my cloth bags on to the wheel over and over again. lol!

However, I do not believe a WORD any environmentalist or government person says about the environment going to hell in a hand basket.

This afternoon is my u/s. I'm curious to see how big the baby looks now that I'm 23 weeks. I'm going to ask him to try and get a profile picture that I can actually show off to people. All I got last time is an alien one. Ick.

I have 4 boys with snotty noses, 2 with coughs, one whose cough is croupy(thanks Mony!). I blame the Easter candy. Next year it's grapes and baby carrots in the eggs. ;)

:cool1: Allie You are going to have FUN! (and btw IFF your knee feels the least bit wonky - I think you should get a knee brace - keep that sucker in place!! It worked for me!! ;)

Moo glad you can work from home! Lines at work!

Our school sends home letters re Take a child to work day - "position" letter - ie while they are not opposed to the idea - WTH - do it when it doesnt impact schools and learning :rotfl: It has changed over the years - as has women's place in the job market - DD said you do it once or twice, and then its always the same - so hardly anyone goes now!

Al Roker has got to go - lol he totally tweets too much! (I wanted weather updates!) :rotfl:

Nab I think the rest of the world is more prepared than US - Oprah mentioned that Ireland (as did Marita) there are no bags given out - unless you pay 30 cents - 30cents compared to the total grocery bill isnt bad!

I remember in the 70's the commercial with the Indian having a tear drop down his cheek - lots of pollution... things have improved since then! I know we are injesting way more chemicals than ever before - BPA crap in bottles - Canada banned it - hmmm, how about the chemicals in dogfood that killed so many beloved pets? To me whatever it takes to make the almighty dollar (peanut butter, pistachios, spinach - all were contaminated)

I truly believe it makes a difference - I always see those darn bags flying around in trees, parking lots - its pollution- I know the kids were all about cutting up the 6 pak soda plastic - I believe we can do better... I can do better! ;)

It helps to have that TArget bag zipped up in my purse!

:laundy: day - dh is going to get dd from school early spend some time with her... she's growing up. *sigh

We did this 3 times with Zack. She is totally his clone.
Is he the one with the food allergies? Might start watching for that!

Cel: I saw your wdw pics. Definitely a hott college chick.
Aww! Thanks!

Hey all. I've been reading, just super busy at work so I haven't had time to respond.

allie - I might make it to the marathon. ok, no, I won't. but I'll think about you!

Now who is NO FUN. Don't forget grape tomatoes, brussel sprouts, and green peas:thumbsup2

Every year (that she remembers) my MIL sends these individually wrapped candy coated marshmallow eggs. The thought is that I could just hide the candy in the yard and wah la- easy peasy easter. This ignores several key things....

1. I live on the prairie not North Carolina. It may or may not be snowing on Easter. Outdoor egg hunts are risky business at best.

2. My family tradition is to dye eggs.

3. While she thinks these candy are delicious, the are beyond gross. :scared: I love marshmallows more than the next person but the candy coating on these babies are enough to break your teeth. Seriously- even Goldenchild will try to gnaw one and then resort to sucking the candy coating off and then give up in disgust and hand you a still rock hard but saliva'd candy to dispose of (how? IDK- I am guessing they would survive all out nuclear war)

4. Even if they were wonderful, we don't need 3 bags.

In conclusion- shall I send you some? :rotfl: Or I could hand them out to my unsuspecting students in exhange for class participation.:scratchin: That is truely an evile plan. BWahahahaha.

BABYNURSE- I was about to post an APB. Also my twitter about you was much longer but I decided to zip it. pirate:

No, the food allergy one is the oldest, Matt.

I spoke way too soon.

Maddy was up all night with HORRIBLE pain. She couldn't find a comfortable spot to lay her head. We were up again, most of the night. She was miserable. So much that at 6am I had it, mommy thoughts took over and I was convinced her eardrum ruptured or they knicked something during her office visit yesterday. We went to the ER. To find out that it's just ear pain.

I gave her Motrin right at bedtime (9:00) and then at 1am when she was screaming I gave her tylenol, it wouldn't even take the edge off.

At 6am I gave her more Motrin and off we went.

She's very uncomfortable and I am a zombie.

My wonderful family has allowed me about a 2 minute nap. I was just about to officially fall asleep and 3 of my kids were in my face. They have a no school day today. Lucky me!

She didn't do well on the audiology tests. That's upset me, some.

Moo: Did you get my text?
Mony - Poor Maddy! Hope just having a plugged ear was what caused the test problems :grouphug:

I didn't get your text until this morning at work! Then my battery ran low and I didn't have a chance to recharge my phone. I keep thinking I should keep my phone on the stand next to my chair in the evenings, but if I did that, I'd probably forget my phone every day :rolleyes1

Marita - I've sat way in the back of the plane before and I think you're right about being able to ask the flight attendants for something to drink when they're back there. However, it's a pain having to wait until last to de-plane.

Twink - Your evile plan to get rid of those marshmallow eggs is genius!!!!!!!!!

Hi, Cel! Sorry you're so busy :)

Sandy - I hear you . . . I think a lot of my coworkers' older kids are pretty bored with coming in for Earth/Child to Work Day.

However, I do not believe a WORD any environmentalist or government person says about the environment going to hell in a hand basket.
MommyP - I could tell you some real-life stories about environmental contamination that would make a believer out of a lot of people.

Marita - That was Monica's baby that needed tubes. Mine has just been running fever. Although, she has been fever free since yesterday afternoon. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. ;)

OOPS!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry I the sick kids mixed up

Mony, sorry about Maddy's troubles, that sounds so painful!

Cel, hope you get unbusy soon, we miss you!

BBN, singing in the rain is good, no?

PJ, where are you???

Nab, yikes about unreliable BIL, how rude!

I'm bored. I have been working some on stuff I dont have to do just out of boredom. I might fold some laundry soon, LOL.

In the good news department, my icemaker seems finally fixed. Some connecting wire was not working. Let's hope it lasts this time.

I got sticker shock in the cafeteria at my new place today. They had a special for salisbury steak with mashed potatoes and asparagus and a roll (per displayed plate of the special), for $4.95 or so. I was hungry, so I ordered that. Got to the cashier and she asked me how many sides I got. I said, none, just what comes with it :confused3 Turns out the mashed potatoes and asparagus are "sides", so it came to like $7.60. Not huge, but still, it was a surprise. I since learned that their specials are usually around $8.
I have yet to find out where the big cafeteria for MGM is. Supposedly close, but I have no idea where. So far I am feeling pretty isolated at the new job, but it's only been a few days. We'll see.

Looks like I will have to wait to learn most of my my new resposibilites for forecast till next month, I have to sit with the girl at my old job this go around to teach her till Wednesday morning, then she is coming to my new job to teach about what to do once the properties submit. I'll miss some things Monday due to dentist appointment and Tuesday due to having to work with my successor.

Speaking of rescue, I could use one! DH had his surgery yesterday morning and is now galumphing around the house, making messes and getting in the way. Urgh.
