MOOvers on the MOOve Again

Hello Moovers. Not such a good day here. When I attempted to pull out of my driveway on the way to work this morning, I discovered that my minivan's power steering is apparently not working. :sad2: I had a REALLY hard time getting back into my parking space in the driveway, and I ended up having to drive my mom's car to work. We probably won't be able to get it to a mechanic until Friday, since it's dang near impossible for me to drive it, and DH won't be able to drive it for me until Friday (which is supposed to be his day off this week). Hopefully, it won't cost an arm and a leg to get fixed.

Also, FIL is in the hospital (2nd time in 2 weeks) with some ailment of an unclear nature. DH visited him after work today, but was unable to find a doctor to get any info. :confused3 The hospital FIL is in is awful! Several years ago, FIL went in to that same hospital for minor surgery to have fluid drained from around his knee. Four days later, we had to call a priest to read him Last Rites because the hospital "didn't notice" a rampant staph infection which left considerable scarring on FIL's heart! I just don't understand why my in-laws would choose to go to Lou's Hospital and Shoeshine when they are a mere 25 miles from Mass. General and Brigham & Women's! ARRGGH!

I survived. And I passed with flying colors. :cheer2: I will get my official teaching certificate now!!! As soon as I mail a check in for $50 of course. When I passed I just started crying. And now I'm crying again thinking about it. I have wanted to be a teacher since I was five or six years old. I can't believe I'm actually doing it. Laugh at me, but it really is my dream come true.

Moo, I had a meltdown yesterday, too. I just broke out in tears, ran out of the room, went into the next room over and said "someone watch my kids!" It was just all the stress of this internship combined with a couple other things. I didn't even know who was watching my kids or if anyone had even made it into my room. I just went to my friend's room, she had her assistant take her kids outside, and I just sat there and cried!! I don't really know where it came from...sometimes ya just gotta cry!!! Hope today was better for you, enjoy your time with your friends tonight.

:banana::banana::banana: YAY PEEJ! :banana::banana::banana:

We all knew you'd do well! And OF COURSE you cried! It's a HUGE deal! Congratulations!

Moo, sorry your DH is being less than supportive. Hope you're doing better today!

NAB and Sandy, ITA about Biggest Loser.....both Filipe and Sione can go home NOW. I'm thinking that I want Tara or Kristin to win. Or maybe Mike.

EEk and ACK, Lynette, not good stuff! Hope your FIL and your car get well with minimum trouble.

Nothing much to report here today.

Some rumor of more layoffs in other divisions tomorrow,

Keep finger crossed for DH. He thinks they will lay off people close to retirement, and he will turn 63 this month.

9-5 days drag on forever, and I still work at home cause I'm bored.

But I cleaned the kitchen surfaces tonight and dusted :cool2:

Tomorrow we have to park way out of at the Villas, due to 3 big retirement parties for execs that took the package to leave. They are laughing all the way to the bank. "I'm ready to retire anyway and getting a big bonus to do it" It's a good 10 minute walk.

So, I am going to take the opportunity to swing by a shop on the way and buy am Omelette croissant as breafast for lunch.

Thank you, everyone. :)
:grouphug:

L...that sounds like a pretty crummy day. What on earth are you going to do without the loser cruiser???!!! :scared1: Sorry to hear about your FIL. Hopefully you'll get some answers soon.

Moo...:rotfl: That made me laugh.

Back to my planning. Someone tell me to go away and focus!

Lynette - Sorry you had the day from helk today :grouphug: Sending wishes for reasonable car repair costs and prayers for your FIL.

I had a better day today. A couple of my good friends from work just left. They brought me some nice cards and a goody bag from my coworkers - three books, a journal and matching fridge notepad, some pens, and lots of low cal beverages to give me some variety as I try to get all my liquids in! They were even able to find some Minute Maid Cherry Limeade Light. Yum!

Peej - Get back to work!

Marita - Hope your hubby's job is spared  Sorry about your long walk tomorrow. Think positive - the exercise will do you some good and make you hungry for your breakfast!

I finally have an inkling of how it feels not to eat much at all. So far, I haven't really been hungry. I just lose my energy if I've gone too long.

Today, I finally was able to declutter my dining room table. It took a couple hours to be able to figure out where to put everything :headache:

Moo: Not to sound stalkerish, but is there any chance you will be home on Friday?

I just got a pm from someone for my fridge swap and they are staying at POP for 20 days.

10 just about did me in. I can't imagine a day more.

Lynt: Was there any fluid on your driveway? Just a thought, maybe there was just a leak.

Moo, I think you transferred your lack of appetite to me! The last 3 days I have had cravings for sweets. Yesterday, I wanted Reeses Peanut butter cups from the vending machine, but there were none. Today, I decided I would got for Peanut M&M's. BUT the had Peanut butter cups today! SO I deposited $1.10, the machine started turning, but stopped! :sad1:

So I stood in line to get money refunded

I decided not to take a chance on the peanut butter cups again (although the rotor was already half turned) and got the M&Ms.

I just ate some leftoever halloween candy

Thanks, ladies. :grouphug: There IS a chance that the dad of one of Natasha's friends might be able to fix my car. He's a mechanic for a local Mercedes dealer, but he also does lots of work out of his house. His wife offered his discounted services...I have to call to see if he's available. Fingers crossed!

Peej, GET BACK TO WORK!

Marita, I'm keeping you and your DH in my prayers.

Moo, sounds like you have some pretty cool work friends!

Hi Mony....you snuck in! There WAS fluid in my driveway - quite a bit, in fact. That leads me to believe that if we fill it up again, it'll just leak all over the driveway again. ACK!

hey where'd my congrats to PJ go?? :confused3

Large purplish letters?? :goodvibes

sheesh!!
:woohoo: and :yay: PJ

so glad you found someone to dry your tears - sounds like its been building up and that certificate was a great release!! YOU'VE MADE IT!! :woohoo:

Lynettethat's so not good!

June 21 or 22 is our start for the Mission trip (my post gave lots of praise and thanks :worship: I have something I can go back to the Pastor with!! I'll look into the indoor swimming!! Of course our Mission Trip has over 400 people! :scared1:and I'm sure we all will have the same day off!! :faint: )

DS CAME HOME!! :woohoo:He took his Dgf on a Hiking trip to Kentucky - they had an AWESOME time!! :woohoo:

Sandy, YAY for your DS coming home.

DH just came storming out of his bedroom. The dog was still out, and I had my headphones on, so I didnt hear him. So DH stormed out, let the dog in, but didnt say anything to me.......... Sorry, DH, thats what happens when I have to keep the TV really low...

Mony - Yes, I will be home on Friday - are you going to be in the area?! I'm going to try to do some work from home. I may need to have PDFs of a couple things e-mailed to me though. My friend was going to bring me my briefcase tonight, but got busy and forgot to grab it.

20 days at POP! :scared1: Hopefully, they're going to do some serious relaxing during that time. Or maybe just use it as their home base to do some other things in the area.

Lynette - I DO have some awesome work friends!!! I have worked with many of them for 15+ years. Some for my entire career. Hope your mechanic comes through for you :)

Sandy - I thought you were doing your mission trip over spring break, hence the comment that Cedar Point wouldn't be open. Glad you have some good ideas to run with.

Marita - You crack me up! :lmao: Maybe you're doing some sympathy eating for me, LOL!!! My friends stopped to grab dinner before coming over. It's pretty slim pickings here at my house right now, but I was able to rustle up a beer and Bloody Mary fixings.

Marita - You crack me up! :lmao: Maybe you're doing some sympathy eating for me, LOL!!!

That must be it, Moo! I haven't eaten candy in ages! Well, except a couple of Lindt trouffles that were presents, and half of those were eaten by Knitfreak and Asst #2.

Hi Mony....you snuck in! There WAS fluid in my driveway - quite a bit, in fact. That leads me to believe that if we fill it up again, it'll just leak all over the driveway again. ACK!

I was justing wondering if it was a leak, that maybe it was noting too serious or costly, but I don't know of anything else that would make your PS go out?
Hope the friendly mechanic can help you out.

Moo:Unfortunately I won't be in the area, but something else will.:rolleyes1

Please keep my DH in your prayers, he is just going to have some x-rays/pictures taken to see if anything new has developed. Can you believe 9 months have passed since it all started?

Congratulations P.J.!!!

And you are going to Disneyland so soon. :woohoo:

Lynette-- hope it doesn't cost you to much. Thank goodness you were not further along to work.

Marita-- I have some more Halloween candy I can send you. The kids always stop eating it a month after and now I have lots left.

Moo-- are you even allowed Beer? :laughing

Mony-- fingers crossed for your husband.

Well I am off to the Science Center today. Should be fun with all the hands on stuff. The kids have a workshop on Structures as well. They just finished up building bridges at school.

Congrats Peej! yay for you:woohoo:

I hope everything is ok with your hubby, Mony.

Hi everybody. Have a good one!

Mony - :scratchin Hmmmmm?!!

Sending prayers for Tim. Hope everything is fine.

Nabbie - No carbonation allowed for me! I was good and drank my non-alcoholic drink. Have fun on your field trip!

Hey, bbn! - Anything exciting on the agenda for the kiddos today? Or are they spring-breaked out?

Tim's at the medical center now getting at CT scan. Had to drink Barium. Yum! Not.

His office visits have all gone well, so this should to.

I used to love going to the science center when I was a kid. Toronto has one right? Chicago has some good ones too.
