BBN great limerick indeed - very talented!!

and count me in on that Mackinac trip!! Now who's buyin the lottery tickets?? Did you read the group that won the 214 MILLION dollars? They each (10 of 'em) put in $5, one man didnt before they bought, the lady that knew they won, went up to him and asked him for his $5 (no one knew they had won at this point!) He was embarrassed and thanked her for trusting him for the $5.... she burst out WE WON THE BIG ONE!!
(it comes to 10 million each - after the bloody taxes!!)

Allie go for a run!! you'll feel better!! Stupid rules - and our school thinks we can do everything online!!

Bdg Hospital? :scared1:

Last edited by Sandy321 : Today at 11:08 PM. Reason: Marita have you seen the recipe for Canadian Cheese soup?? I actually HAD to try it... once... never again!!

Sandy, you mean the one from Le Cellier? Never tried it, sounds like I shouldn't either. Cooking is not my forte. Not that I know what my forte is, if I have any, but Martha Stewart I am not!

We already have one on this here thread. Maybe she could dumb down the recipes for us plain and simple folks? :confused3

I better go to bed :sad1:

B, sorry you were in the hospital, hope you are all better now

Best of luck to you and dh tomorrow - stupid economy!

stupid when Disney doesnt realize its the lil things that make Disney magical - and the only way those "little things" happen - its THE PEOPLE!!

not the pencil pushers!

you know if all the CEO's werent so selfish they'd be buying their own company stock - not taking salaries over what the "regular" people have.. seriously - they should be helping! monetarily!

Did you cook up those livers?

Sandy, Disney knows what makes the Magic, they are cutting backstage positions. Hubby is in Horticulture management and I am in Finance, you would never know if we were missing. Well, maybe hubby you would.

First and foremost I would like to thank the bbn for that life altering limerick. I think you should compile a poem/limerick book.

bbn...p.s. good luck to your cousin. Tell him all the moovers thank him. Wait. Would that make him think you're wIerd? Wait. Does he already think you're wIerd. Pretty sure that's a given...

1. I will light a pear candle in your honor.

2. ty. and yes, they know I'm wIerd. but they love me anyway.

sounds like you had a rough day.

Peej, I did indeed enjoy my day off.

How many sick days can you take in a year? Every time we call in, it's called an occurence. If you have 3 occurences in one year, you get a verbal warning. 4 occurences and it's a letter in your file. 5 occurences and you risk termination. And they have fired people for calling in sick too much. If you have a long term illness, you have to file for FMLA, or you could get the boot.

Heh. Smartypants.

Who me? Couldn't be....

Good luck to your little Norman Rockwell. I'm sure he will portray him only as a freakin' genius could.

Have a goog evening Moovers!! Send me some PC pixie dust, please!!!!

5. Should read: BDG brilliantly applies the rules of grammar AND punctuation.

1. Goes without saying.

BDG

Gosh you are so humble.

The hospital? I wondered why we weren't getting your usual touchy feely, sunshine and pixie dust morning shout outs anymore.

Glad you busted outta that joint, you know how mean those nurses can be.

Ode to a bbn - YOU ROCK!

I am now craving PF Changs for some reason.

BBN great limerick indeed - very talented!!

Thanks Sandy. How's the marathon training coming along?

Well, that's uh....thoughtful? of you, but I think you really should turn your attention elsewhere. :upsidedow

In all my born Disposting days I have NEVER seen such a pathetic attempt at humor, (that's humour for you Nab). I beseech you, Lint, and all of you, PLEASE, PLEASE remember one thing before pushing that submit button on your well worn keyboard. Humor is best left in the hands of a professional.

Thank you to everyone else who expressed concern over my hospital stay. Several of the nurses even got my Nurse Ratchett references.

Good morning moovers and moovettes. Last night was crazy. We have been battling colds and the "stomach flu" aka norovirus. We have been fever and be'urk free for 3 days when, just as I was about to get dressed for work, Goldenchild runs in clutching his stomach and crying.... well.... let's just say I was busy cleaning bathrooms and doing laundry instead of last minute class prep. I call the DH to come home STAT and when he does I get to work, just 5 min before class instead of an hour early to organize/prepare/set up audio-visuals.

So I "wing it" and just as I finished my brilliant lecture "C is for Conifers, they are my kind of trees" my boss walked in to observe me (we never get warning). I told him he just missed the good stuff but went ahead and reviewed for next weeks test. My class was really good and tried to help by sitting quietly and answering direct questions correctly. I did get marked down for that however as we were deemed to be too "low-energy" . All in all it was a good review. And in even better news, it seems that Goldenchild isn't sick- just had an upset tummy last night.

So today I am waiting to be sure he is ok and then I am headed to the walmarts to divest myself of some dead presidents since I lost the lottery (or did I win?) that would allow me to go on the first grade field trip.

PJ- Here is a teacher hug:teacher: :grouphug: I know working with the thugbabies is emotionally draining. Thanks for doing it.

Pumba- Sorry you flunked your tests. Maybe you should study harder next time. Ha ha. ;) I think they just raised the Vitamin D standards so everyone is flunking. Anyway- I hope they get everything figured out and none of this is a sign of anything more serious.

BDG- Sorry you were at death's door (TMtwinkie). It is good to see that even a hospital stay doesn't sink your sense of humor.

Hi Allie who can't register for high school, Sandy the batchelor fan, Moo the girl of many birthday parties , Marita the 9 to 5 gal, Babynurse the Poet, Lynt the Casino hater and Everybody Else Who is Not Forgotton.

pixiedust: for all you people that need it.

P.J-- hope you have a better day today with you students. They need a Spring break or is it you need a Spring break.

Allie: Not looking forward to the high school days. Elementary is hard enough, just ask Lynette.

Lynette--:cheer2: On the new laptop!

Pumba-- I think you are do for a vacation.

B-- That must have been some sinus infection to land in the hospital. Ouch. Hope your better now.

Sandy-- did you watch Ellen this morning The Bachelor was on.

Marita-- where are you this morning? Sleeping in. Hope your Hubby gets spared from layoffs.

Twinkie-- Glad everything worked out with your class and that Goldenchild is not spreading the flu around.

Babynurse-- I got to see you Nip/Tuck this week for the first time. Let's just say  I was surprised it was on at 9:00 here.

:dance3: TGIF!!

Time to MooooVe onward...

:pixiedust: I really miss being in the classroom!

Marita thinking of you, and your dh, and all those other wonderful people that do not need pink slips... :wizard:

Does anyone Tweet on Twitter? Does anyone understand why you need to Tweet?

I think FAcebook must be coming out with a version of tweeting, because I've been getting lots of emails on comments to status - and I have to go around the circle of comments to comment... is that like tweeting? :confused3

Its a gorgeous Day in the neighborhood - guess that means I have to get up and get outside for a quick run around the block.... :rotfl2:

Hey, did y'all know its Women's Month Every March, the country celebrates the accomplishments of women throughout American history...

Nabbers - Nip/Tuck is DEFINITELY a "Wait til the kids are in bed" show!!!
I had a dream about you and Nichollas and Hannah last night. Me and my family came to see you in Canada! :rotfl2:
Maybe I was foretelling the mover meet at the fancy schmancy hotel!

babycow, lynt and twinks - I watched the nip/tuck season finale last night with ben! oh my goodness!
I think I'm glad I missed the previous episode with the couch - Ben gave me a quick rundown!
I annoyed him last night cuz I kept trying to explain the backstory for everything to him -
he had never seen the show before the couch episode - he just happened to catch it and decided to dvr the finale.

I flunked most of my blood work ...
high A1C ....

Cel, he really wanted to do his report on JFK, since that's someone with whom Boris really identifies, but JFK got assigned to someone else. Then he chose Theodore Geisel, but HE was taken too, so Boris chose Norman Rockwell. He's really excited about the taped interview, and has already decided on the outfit and props (pipe, glasses, sketch pad and easel, etc.).
Oh oh oh oh! Does Boris know about the Disney pin that's an homage to Rockwell's self portrait? It has Mickey painting and looking in the mirror, but on the canvas it's Walt!

Yes, they are thugs. BUT, they need someone to be non-thugish in their lives, kwim? I do NOT raise my voice around my kids. Maybe I speak in a firm tone, but I don't yell. I give lots of hugs and they know I care about them. I had one little boy tell me I was the only person who ever told him "I love you." :sad1: I spend way more time on the phone with Child Protective Services than I wish I had to. In fact, I wish I never had to make another CPS call and every child was loved and well cared for. Hey, I can dream, right? I don't know why I'm saying this. I guess I just feel like I'm at this school for a reason and despite the extreme thug days we go through, I still want to do exactly what I'm doing. Maybe that was my little pep talk to myself for tomorrow.
10. That is my motto.
9. I gave up going to the CASINO for LENT.
8. True. With an emphasis on losing your hard earned cash.
7. But, it does get me funny looks in court. Night court, not so much.
6. Couldn't have said it better. Unless I added, do, sue them for all their worth.
5. Should read: BDG brilliantly applies the rules of grammar AND punctuation.
4. This place is OPEN on Tuesdays?
3. Aaaaah.
2. Or, you have been in the hospital with a severe sinus infection for the last two days.
1. Goes without saying.

BDG

Are you going to have sinus surgery?

Well, you SKIMMER, if you had actually read back, you would know that my keyboard is far from well worn....I just took my new laptop outta the box yesterday evening. Harumph!

Perhaps it is a testament to your professional status as a humo(u)rist that I didn't think you were serious about your hospital stay. Eeek! Glad you're doing better.

The Nip/Tuck season finale was a doozy, fer shur. The couch epi was creepy....I could have done without THAT image!

I didn't know there was a Mickey homage to Rockwell! I may just see if I can get one in time for the presentation. Maybe Boris could wear the pin on his Rockwellesque cardigan? Thanks for the info!

Everyone else:

Pumba: Sorry about the bad test results. Here's hoping that you're able to bring your numbers back where the docs like them.

Marita, continued prayers that you and DH are not impacted by any layoffs.

Twink, more beurking? You must singlehandedly be keeping Clorox in business. Here, have a hug:

Peej, hope your today is MUCH better than your yesterday!

BBN, how about a new limerick to kick off the weekend?

Allie and Sandy, happy running!

Everyone else,!!! Happy Friday!

Cel I HAVE that pin you're talking about!! I :lovestruc Norman Rockwell!!

Nab continued luck on getting thru this school year!!

Glad people post about shows - nip/tuck and lost - I must stay away - the addiction could be so much worse!!

PSA Glucosmine with Controdin (these so sound like space age words :sad2: ) they are very, very effective - if you have joint pain - its a GOOG thing... IF you cant swallow pills :guilty: trying to find a reasonably priced alternative... :upsidedow

DO NOT get the Sam's club liquid for $17 unless you can swallow salty cough syrup (I cant even describe the flavoring!) I was ever so hopeful - 2T, no sachrin or artificial sweetners... (carrots for color! maybe that was the off taste?) <insert beurking symbol>

Plenty of Vit D available per Mr. Sunshine today!! :goodvibes

sandy -I know! I heart mine too!

Big L - I actually bought one of this pin for HaleyB Silly two years ago to send to her. I'll be at the world in two weeks and I'll see if I can find one for Boris.

I would give up mine - but gosh.
it really really makes me happy.
Is that wrong?

Did you just call me a SKIMMER? Thank you for being glad that I'm better. I do have a couple hospital stories. And not all of them having to do with the nurses checking out my hospital gown from behind to see if I was wearing boxers. I think I will post a pic of my arms. They make me look like a junkie. AKA one of BDG's best clients.

BDG

Cel: I watched the season finale of nip/tuck last night too! I won't spoil it for twink, but I thought it was a pretty good finale. Nab: yes, it is definitely a show to watch after the kids are in bed.:lovestruc

Lynt? A limerick for the weekend? well, this is actually your department, but let me see what I can come up with......

This one is brought to you by the good side of my brain.

There once was a gal on the prairie
who found "It" to be really quite scary
she hid under her bed
ate a twinkie instead
and calmed her nerves with a spot of good sherry

This one is brought to you by the naughtier side.:upsidedow

We know lynt can be very crude
her behavior is crazy and lewd
she showed her tattoo
all the men yelled "woohoo"
save "one", and lynt found herself sued

And not all of them having to do with the nurses checking out my hospital gown from behind to see if I was wearing boxers.

BDG

not all of them? meaning there are at least some stories of such an occurrence? Nurses NEVER do that kind of thing.

The pics didn't turn out very well. But, both arms are covered with black and blue marks from the NUMEROUS times they had to draw blood/insert IV. Nurse Ratchett would delight in waking me up at 1:30 a.m., 3:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. to draw blood. For some inexplicable reason she only seemed to care about doing it in the middle of the night. When I was trying to sleep.

BDG

I could also take a picture of my face which is swelled up to approximately twice it's normal size after taking an IV for two days straight. But, I'm not going to. In other news tonight is the Father/Daughter dance. Maybe I will take a picture of me and my date. I plan on showing her a move or two out on the dance floor. I sure hope she is ready.

BDG

great arms. thanks for sharing.

I do not like how nurses are being portrayed in your testimonial. Maybe next time we will take our "ratchety" skills and let you waste away.:snooty:

Besides, the night shift gets boring. There's nothing better than to wake patients up and stick needles in them. Its one of our very few perks.
