I second what Lynette said!! What a sweet thing to do.A great son you have there. You must really miss him.

:confused3..anybody..heard there's a swine flu going around...?

...[ i blame "porky & the three lil'pigs...." ]

work? a real ":headache:". mano,i'm getting old. then there's the

news. :scared:.

...:yay:,our lil' disney girl....runner! how did you feel..@ the end?

:thumbsup2, sandy....what great memories.

me? watching...."seniors gone bad". [ hope i'm not in it,

..well, if only it shows my good side...:rolleyes1, oops i don't have
one.

:scared1:

the swine flu..sure effecting cruising. i guess we're lucky....getting
thru the panama canal?

...we ,disney cruises..., the reason i think, most of all, is
the oppturnities to focus on the people that you take for granted ..
everyday, family.

..i miss my nurse friend. we were together for such a long time. [ it got
me thinking....of retiring in a few years.]

..so many kids....families being hurt by those that should be protecting
them...confusion, i guess ....i can remember..how important the values
my parents and...our community endorsed...made it clear the
differences between rights & doing wrongs.

now, i could be wrong...but when i read about fathers killing their
families....something went wrong.....or missed.....where they view
their "families"..like property. sorta like the pharaoh's way of
thinking. i think, prevention might depends....recognizing others..with
diffculties with "property & relationships" issues.

we know..what we're doing...& most of it..is common sense. lil' tiny
things....can make up .....alot of solutions if we just..."remember"
to used them.

wonder..why..we don't see reality..shows , showing families living
...the good life?

Uh...I daresay I have evidence to the contrary. :rolleyes1

Hey y'all! It's been a busy week so far. Natasha's First Holy Communion is this Saturday morning. My house is all abuzz with preparations. Of course, she also has a major project due at school on Monday.

I still have a gazillion little things to do, so I decided to take tomorrow off (YAY!). Oh, and thankfully, Mr. Lalijack went back to work today (DOUBLE YAY!). :rotfl:
What could you possibly be talking about? :confused3:confused3:confused3
;)

Hey, Martha...what happened to the simple coffee and cake affair?
p.s. Did you enjoy Obama's speech tonight? As I looked around at the gym pretty much every person had it on their tv. Meanwhile I was watching The Penguins from Madagascar. Does that make me unpatriotic?

My day flew by as well. BIL is still coming everyday since Hubby talked to him.

Hannah got another award at school today for literacy, I guess she is pretty good at using descriptive words when writing a story. I must say that girl can write a story and she is always writing them not too.
Glad that's working out. Maybe it will be done soon!

Yay for Hannah!!! Maybe she's destined to be an author. :)

Sorry about the triple post, but I just saw this in DS's pics from CA. Sniff!
Well crap. All of my 8 gazillion California pictures don't include anything like that. Guess I'm a bad daughter. Again. Jk...that's really sweet, Marita.

I think I'm going to go read.

Guess What? (and no it's NOT chicken butt)

Our schools are closed due to two PROBABLE cases of swine flu at DD's school! :scared1: They are Kindergartners, and the are at home recovering, and were never hospitalized, but they have closed all the city, county and surrounding schools until Monday. Although, my son is upset because his sister's school will be closed for 7 days. :rolleyes1

Thought y'all might be amused, or not. It might explain DD's unknown virus last week. :rolleyes1 Bad thing is, we have teased her about it this week. I guess we're BAD parents. :headache: I do hope the two kids recover, and it sounds like they will according to the news, but it's the news that is causing widespread panic, by saying DON'T PANIC!:mad:

Now I'm gonna have kids home with me for the rest of the week. Wonder if they'll have to make up these days......Peej, any thoughts?????

LilG - I actually felt pretty good at the end. Just HOT and TIRED!! I feel all normal now. I'm really amazed that it didn't take more out of me. Of course, I tried to "run smart" and not push too hard. Thanks for asking!

Marita - That is so sweet of your son! Hope you have a goog trip!! Bon Voyage!!

Marita - That's so sweet!

I'm heading to WIC this morning. So thankful that they opened up the office in my town again. A 10 minute drive is so much better than a 40 minute drive. :) After WIC I'm heading to Walmart to pick up our monthly Walmart products so I don't have to step foot in that store again until June. We've been doing all our food shopping at Sweetbay. I'm also in need of matching thread for my diaper bags. Chad's working again tomorrow night and Saturday, so I'll be sewing.

Late in the year to have to start making up days. Yuck.

This year swine flu, next year "horse flu" and a swine flu vaccine I'm sure. Soon when you bring your newborn in for a first checkup they'll have so many vaccines to check they'll just have to hook them up to an IV. ;)

Moring.

Allie that makes me think of what we and the day care kids went through the last 2 weeks. All sick and just trying to get through it. Hope it was swine flu so we're kinda immune now. Make sense?

My neighbor's little boy who I just love cause I started watching him at 8 weeks until he was school aged is making his first communion this weekend and I made the pierogies for the party! I have it down to a science now and it took me no time to do it.

One of my FB friends saw my frustration about my puter and her husband is fixing it very inexpensively as we dis and I also gave him the kids puter to fine tune so its not so cryptic. Yea for friends with mad geeky tech skillz!!!!!

Got through Wendy's Hump Day yesterday, even through her rough time she still has an amazing sense of humor.

I'm wondering if our Cancun trip will still be a go come December.

No one but Mony posted ALL day? Are y'all sick? With the swine flu? ;) Is it any more contageous than the regular flu? We have never gotten a flu, ever. There was a supposed case in Cape Coral today. I wonder if they'll shut down the schools.

I was thankful that no one had so much as a sniffle at WIC today. If you're going to catch the swine flu, it's going to be at WIC. I've never been there and there NOT be a ton of sickly people.

Anyway, WIC was quick and Walmart was dead. It was a good morning out, although tiring. Isaac is very heavy these days.

2. Hey, Martha...what happened to the simple coffee and cake affair?
3. p.s. Did you enjoy Obama's speech tonight? As I looked around at the gym pretty much every person had it on their tv. Meanwhile I was watching The Penguins from Madagascar. 4. Does that make me unpatriotic?

1. :rolleyes1

2. Yeah, yeah. Make fun. I'm ordering the cake from the bakery, but I'm making some stuff too.....a coffee cake, some chocolate chip snack bread, banana bread, chocolate chip cookies, lemon squares, brownies, a trifle or two. These things don't bake themselves, y'know! :snooty:

3. No. In fact, I pretended that it wasn't even happening. :sad2:

4. Not in my book.

I got lots of stuff done today. Still lots to do, but more than enough time.

Where is everyone today?

Hi everyone, checking in...

MP, sounds like easy shopping, what is WIC?

Mony, yay for puter fixing geeks on the cheap! Love your new siggie, LOL.

Martha, sounds like an awsome lineup or food for the party. Maybe Mony could ship you some perogies too?????????????

Allie, how scary about the probable swine ful at school, yikes! Disney is now posting swine flu information on their internal website. Protection, what look for etc. No official cases here so far (knock on wood!)

I got home at 8:30 again tonight, but only because I left early so I didn't have to drive in the dark, and I was just watching and not contributing. They are having issues with an explanation file that is a mess. I IM's BB over an hour after I left and they still had not made any progress. I heard stories about this file before, it confuses the heck out of me. When I asked her if there was anything I could look at to help (I know what they are looking for), BB said "shoot us"! They are still there :scared1:
BB is hoping I can fix the mess going forward. I told her "will do or die trying". I need to understand it more first. Gonna email the files to myself and see if can work on it some from Germany, if my brother has Excel. Only the parts that are fun for me, since I will be on vacation and just sitting around the house a lot anyway.

I'm off starting tomorrow, YAY!

Busy day for me. Besides trying to do my work, I was also trying to coordinate a ride to an all day medical appointment on Monday for my friend who had the MRI over the weekend. Problem was, I was working with another person on these arrangements and the other person wasn't keeping me informed. I didn't think the other person came through with a driver, so I made alternate arrangements and we ended up with two potential drivers. Arrgh! And my friend prefers to go with the person I arranged for. So now she needs to figure out what to do. I think I'm done trying to arrange things for a while!

Anyway, I'm going to be busy tomorrow and this weekend because my hubby's having his weight loss surgery in the morning. Please send up some prayers and positive thoughts for Don around 9:00 tomorrow :goodvibes

Sandy - LOVE the photo book you made!

Allie - Hope things turn out OK in your DD's school system :grouphug:

Lynette - WOOT on your party plans!!! Hope you have a lovely day for the big event :flower3:

Mony - Hope you get your computer back soon.

Nabbie - Congrats on Hannah's award! :thumbsup2

Marita - Awwww, what a great photo from your son! Just in case I'm too exhausted tomorrow night to wish you safe travels, hope you have a very good trip and that your mom is doing well.

We have to be at the hospital by 7:00 am, so I'll be getting up about 4:30 am. I KNOW you feel my pain! :) But it's all for a good cause - it'll be nice having the same kind of eating limitations. My hubby had to shave off his mustache tonight though for the anesthesia, so he looks like an Amish guy!!! :lmao: I haven't seen him without a mustache since 1977  That was the last time he was cleanshaven. At least he still has his beard this time.

Moo, sending P&PD for Mr. Moo tomorrow!

I hear you on the getting up at 4:30, UGHH!

When my DH started at Disney, he had to shave off his mustach. I had NEVER seen him without one. When he walked into the bedroom, I fell backwards on the bed, rolling with laughter :rotfl: DH was not amused!!

Thanks for all the wellwishes on the trip. I'll still be here tomorrow and I am sure I'll check in Saturday morning before I leave. It's not till 12 or so.

I know, Marita! There's just something about seeing that bare upper lip when you're not used to it!!! :rotfl:

I've been sneaking peeks all night and giggling to myself. I need to take a photo for my daughter, since she's never seen him without a mustache before either.

Rise and shine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good morning, good morning to you............... (insert music)

We have to be at the hospital by 7:00 am, so I'll be getting up about 4:30 am. I KNOW you feel my pain! :)

I am up everyday at 4:30 for potty time. I don't know what it is about that hour. It should be illegal for anyone to have to get up that early! I hope you're surviving the day. GL to your DH.

Thanks for all the wellwishes on the trip. I'll still be here tomorrow and I am sure I'll check in Saturday morning before I leave. It's not till 12 or so.

I have sewing plans today, so I might not make it back on here again before you leave tomorrow. Have a good trip. I hope you're able to get some good rest on the way there!

Anyone else watching Survivor this season? I'm about ready to not have to watch Coach anymore. I'm liking Taj for the win, just because I can't stand anyone else anymore. Bunch of lying, stuck-up....GRRRR.

Marita - WIC(women, Infants and Children) is a program for low income families(with children under 5) that gives you vouchers for nutritious foods such as milk, cheese, juice, eggs, peanut, butter and more. They track your kids growth and development at their twice a year appointments and you get the vouchers(checks) for those foods. Very helpful with little ones who drink TONS of milk which is SO expensive these days. :thumbsup2

Mook, thinking or you and Mr. Moo. Hopefully it's all over by now and all is well.

Marita: Have a wonderful trip.

Moo: Good luck to dh!

MommyP: I'm watching Survivor. I would love to go on that show. DD likes JT. The cattle rancher. Go figure that the cowgirl would like him.

PJ & LYNT: Facebook does say true things, but you have to have great intuition (like fb says I do) and underestimated fabulousness (again b/c fb says) to know which things are true and which things are not. OR you just have to have a little common sense.

Everybody: Have a "fabulous" Derby weekend. It is a pretty much a major holiday here, so the kids don't have school. All the locals go to Oaks day. My friends from work are all going to Oaks and wanted me to come, but I think I'm going to spend time with the kiddos instead.

Marita-- your were up so early and dusting too. :faint: Must be time for a nap or are you trying to make yourself so tired you will sleep the whole time on the plane.

Moo-- hope hubby's surgery went well. You probably need a nap too.

Babynurse-- Who wouldn't love T.J with that accent. I really don't don't coach and wish would go next or Debbie. Are you watching the Ponderosa clips. Tyson is really out there.

Mommy P-- glad you and the boys are well taken care of. And agree on the milk thing. I shop around for milk. Cheapest is $3.97 for 4 litres.( this is three small bags sold together) but some place want $5.99 and I buy three at a time. :sad2: It all comes from the same dairy for pete sake.

This is why my former boss is the boss and not me:

Request came in Thursday (forecast week, which is crazy busy):

Team,
What a week of FY10 AOP planning reviews. They went very smooth (despite the recent transitions for all involved) and the upfront work that your teams did with operations/labor really paid off.
Each of the reviews encompassed some great dialogue and we need to capture the key thoughts / adjustments appropriately. All areas invested a significant amount of time and we owe it to operations to properly follow up / identify their concerns and make any agreed upon adjustments. Our teams, along with the GMs, were the only participants that sat in every meeting for each resort and should be able to pull together a summary.
Call to Action:

Please have someone from your team document, by LOB, the following:
Adjustments needed to align between labor / finance. Please note if the financial impact can be covered or if more discussion is required
Shifting of hours between CC for improved consistency across resorts. Also, note if this will require a new CC
Existing "pain points" in the agreed upon staffing guides. Please note if it can be implemented or should be on a "Wish" list due to financial exposure
Potential "pain points" where the operators / LOB have agreed to use a "wait and see" approach
Next Steps:
The final list should be shared with your resort's leadership team
A list by LOB will be shared with the LOB leaders
BIG VP will be provided with a list of "pain points" and an overall recap of the meetings
Follow up between Finance / Labor on the agreed upon adjustments
Please send your completed lists to XY and PD so their teams can compare notes and make any necessary adjustments. Also, copy JH, Marita, Stacey, Michelle, Kathy and I.
The summary should be sent out by EOD Friday (5/1), given that next week is forecast.Thank you and please call with questions,

Former boss' reply:

Thanks for providing some direction regarding next steps after the Labor Reviews.
Based on the other work we have had this week, the access to team members that may have key notes from the meetings, and the need to focus on other critical work, some of my Resorts may not be distributing this information until Monday.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks,
Matt

In other words, take a hike, LOL! I lack this knack for being diplomatic...
