Moo-- I broke down and turned on the heat too, 64 in the house is just a little to chilly for me.

Celery-- couldn't have ran over to your Mom's. She would have fed you wouldn't she, You don't eat much anymore.

Pumba --we think your great too!! :grouphug:

we turned the heat up too......had to .....my toes were frosty......and megara was curling up on the couch with her paws covering her nose

Lynette....I assume there was a travel mug involved in the goose mishap? And hat bit about carrying Boris papa's rosary and being named after him made me tear up.

Yes, indeedy, Melinda! There WAS a travel mug involved....but I snatched it up before even a drop could be spilled!

I grew up in the same house as my Grandma and Papa. When he died (I was 15), I vowed that one day, I would have a son and name my son after my grandfather, because he and I were so close. My son has the same kind soul and calm personality as my Papa....my mom thinks so too. (Papa was her dad.)

Cause I could really use a nice weekend AWAY! just saying.

Oh, I could really use a nice weekend away too, Mo. *sigh*

Oh my goodness lint! How sweet!
I was baptized with my father and grandfather. :cloud9: :cloud9: :cloud9: 3 generations saved at once!

Thanks, Cel. :goodvibes

That's cool that you and your dad and granddad were all baptized together!

DH and I are gonna go on a scouting mission. You know, to find a home and job in a non-murderous and gorgeous neighborhood. This isn't nearly as hard as I thought it'd be. Everything is just kind of falling neatly into place. :confused3 Must be meant to be. :cloud9:

I've even talked myself into liking the idea of humidity. For anti-wrinkle purposes. My hair and skin are pretty parched here.

Is this a for sure thing, Wendy? Or still just a serious consideration?

Who are you trying to kid, you were never not standing. You're so strong I bet you could push me over with just one pinky! Well, you could try! :cool2: And did you tell RS that your brilliant beyond brilliant freakin genius friend reminded you of that song???

What a great way to honor your father. I love it. Double goodvibes smiley. :goodvibes :goodvibes

Peej, your geniusosity is astounding! ;)

Thanks for saying that. (But, as posted above, Papa was the name I called my maternal g-pa. Just to clarify. TMBBNthePillarofStrength)

Rob did you escape or were you rescued? ;)

:rotfl2:

1. Oh my, Lynette!!! Glad your coffee wasn't a casualty this morning!

2. Congrats on your skinniness - I'm sure you'll find something cute to wear! :yay: That is a nice problem to have :) :)

1. I know! That would've been a BAD way to begin the day!

2. Ha! Thanks, Moo, but no one would call ME skinny! If y'all knew what my cousin calls me, you'd have a great laugh, I tell you what. But it IS nice to be too small for some of my own clothes. And who doesn't love to buy something new to wear for a special occasion?

I am sitting on the couch with a blanket over my legs, because it is cold, damp and rainy tonight. Waaaaah! I want last week's 75 degree weather back!!!!

Rob: It's cold here too. And rainy. We had to turn the heat on for a spell too. Friday it was almost 80 and today it was in the upper 40's.

That just irked me to no end.

Wendy in the same time zone is pretty exciting. What's Misty saying about all of this? Is she coming too!?:hyper:

Sandy-Cheryl: I am all for a road trip. I love to drive.

What do you think Nab?

Lyn? A nice weekend away. You do deserve one ya know.

Well all that's let of my World Geography class is the final.

My Children's Lit class is tomorrow. Just more review for next week's final. I finished my project early.

I found out today I may be eligible for a scholarship for daycare providers going to school. MI T.E.A.C.H is sending me the application. Over the phone I qualified for the application to be sent through a few questions.

They offer 80% tutition of up to 6 credit hours a semester, cost of books, a gas stippend either weekly or monthly (I can't remember), so please keep your fingers and toes crossed for me. As soon as I fill it out and send it in I can expect to know by next week. Perfect for fall term.

My BIL called DH today. Their dad "found" some extra money he didn't know he had and DBIL wants to talk him into paying for a trip to VEGAS. My DFIL, DH and I and DBIL and his Wife.

They are looking to go August 11-15.

I don't know about this. Never been there. I have 4 kids to figure out. Their 3 kids are 17-25 yrs.

I had other plans for a vacation. Tim isn't too happy about my unexcitment.

Sigh, I am just too spoiled with Disney.

Vegas in August, Mony??! :scared1:

We went for our anniversary in mid-September and I thought it was super hot then.

Road trip!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If Wendy moves into the bestest time zone, we'll no longer be "people of the future".

mony - good luck on the scholarship!

as far as vegas - last time I was there was in June and it was unbearable - just be sure to get your days and nights mixed up!
and see some cirque du soleil shows for me!

Wendy - I still can't believe you're considering moving!!! I'm with Nabbie. What will Misty do without you???
I'm fairly certain I can take her and her family with me. Shhhh. She doesn't know this yet. :cool2:

we turned the heat up too......had to .....my toes were frosty......and megara was curling up on the couch with her paws covering her nose

This is the first day I had my windows open and no heater. It's SPRING!

Vegas in August? HOT! I'm not really a fan of Vegas either. There is some family friendly things there...just divert their little eyes from the porn sold newspaper stand style. Go to Circus Circus and the Treasure Island Pirate Show pirate: (trust me there). The Luxor is sort of marginally fun too.

Misty can easily come with. I haven't mentioned to her yet that she's coming with. OOPs.

Same time zone? I get to be a future-ite?

I spent a goodly portion of the day sending resumes to TN. Guess how many jobs there are here in UT? zero! This worries me, the house down the street that is the same as ours is for sale and they just had to lower it 30K and still no bites.

Celery- FYI, there are NO homes with 5+ bedrooms for sale in your entire area. Well, there was one but it was icky.

Hi Moovers,

Aliie and PJ, on your family dramas.

Pumba, you must be bursting with pride over your GD :cool1:

Mony, all appendages crossed for the scholarship money!!

Sending warm thoughts to all you being cold!

L, yikes on the duck :scared1: i'm sure you will find a cute outfit.

Another forecast week here, So I will be busy.

BUT, they are offerening a 50% discount for Cirque this week and DD really wants to go and take here BF and DH and maby (not sure DS). And I said if you all are going, I am going too. Not that I have a great desire to, but if it's a family outing I want to be there.
Anyway, so I have to meet DH tomorrow in the middle of the day to show my ID to get enough tickets combined with DH's ID. BAD TIMING!!!

On top of that, someone messed up and scheduled an All-Hands meeting(meaning everyone in Resorts Finance) for 2 hours for tomorrow, during FORECAST WEEK!!!!!!!!!!!!

xWendy,

I think this is a really sucky time to move. Can't sell your house at all! 2 houses on my street have been on the market for at least 9 months, and they are not that expensive either (remember, this is still my starter home here, although it was new at the time) They have both been reduced too.
They had an article in the paper today about people just walking away from their homes.

And now for something completely different:

I got a surprise invitation today.

To the 20th anniversary celebration for the Grand Floridian!

Which I opened. 20 years ago. Which is both very exciting and very much work. And this was before computers, or very little.

I worked on the proforma starting in 1985. It was modeled after expenses at the Poly. HAHAHA!!!!!!
I was there for the groundbreaking too.

There will be a reception and a panel discussion (reminiscense) (sp) by some opening cast members who are now BIG WIGS. One is CEO of DL Paris, one is opening DVC in Hawaii (and he was an asst. supervisor in Bell Services at the time) and several others who are now executives. And from what I read, there will be pictures and maybe videos. Anyway, I am thrilled about it.

Here is a memory:
A very scary moment for me.
I took some finance people on a tour during construction and borrowed a master key
the GM was a fanatic about master keys. Master keys are dangerous!!!!!!!!!!!
And the GM was ADAMANT about their security!!!

and I LOST IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It would mean re-keying all 900 rooms at great expense, and my sure fireing!!!!!!!!!!!!

but luckily I found it finally
it got dropped in a sand pile

It was has half buried, I almost ran SOL!
and it was metal (big) at the time, and the sun reflected on it
disaster averted

Thanks PJ for catching me up!! I forgot you donated your hair!! You are AWESOME - and the education system is lucky to have you!! :goodvibes
Sandy!! What nice things to say about me!! At least someone appreciates me. ;) Yes, I donated my hair last February. It was the first time I ever cut my hair. Well, it had been trimmed, of course, but never cut. Anyway, I didn't enjoy the experience. I like my hair. Something about cutting it off felt wIerd. I know I sound crazy for saying that, but I can't explain it.

Before:

After (I swear that doesn't even look like me  ):

Wow. There for a second I almost thought PJ knows what she's talking about. :upsidedow
Wow, for a second there I almost thought Rob was no longer posting on this thread! Too bad you were right and I was wrong.
hee hee hee

P.J.-- I did not know you donated your hair, what a great thing to do. And of course you quoted me when I had the two words mixed up, you and your .....maybe that was what made you laugh.
I didn't even notice it. I guess my mind just automagically reversed them back the right way!

I feel like Marita! There is nothing to eat in this house! I'm having peanut butter (which there's only a tiny bit of because my stupid brother ate all my food!) and cheese.
What a dinner!
Is it a problem that I see absolutely nothing wrong with that meal?

Peej, my DD called last night and said that she has a big group project due this week, one final exam, and then she's done!!!!!! :dance3: She's stressing a little, but I'm sure she'll do fine.
WOOT for her!!! I'm definitely feeling the stress. We have pretty much everything in the world due Wednesday night. Tomorrow night looks like an all-nighter. Bring on the Red Bull! :hyper:

Thanks, Marita. Not that anyone wanted to know, but I'm doing a lot better than I was last week. Things still haven't changed but I think I've come to terms with the fact that you can't change people or take on all of their problems. If that makes any sense.

I've always wanted to go to cirque but it's so expensive! You'll have to tell us all about it.

Goog luck on that scholarship, Mony, how exciting! :woohoo: I took my children's lit class sophomore year (I think). I actually enjoyed that one!

Alright, back to work for me! Catch y'all later.
:grouphug:

When was the last time you saw this? I've heard that they've, ummm, spiced things up a bit with the pirate show.

Thank goodness you found that key, Marita! I'm happy for you that you get to go to the GF celebration!!! :goodvibes

PJ, your was so beautiful  Not that it isn't still, but it makes me think of one of those Pantene commercials :lmao: Glad things are a little better this week. Keep plugging away -- you'll be done and graduated before you know it!!!!!!!!!

Todd, HI!!!

Good to see you! How are things?

My, it;s been a long time!

Hey, Todd! Long time no see. Hope you, Lisa, and the boys are doing well. Interesting blog - new job?

Hey Moo and Marita!!!

And everyone else.

We are all doing well. We are currently packing/prepping for a move. We are heading to the Oklahoma Panhandle. We've been in the NE of Oklahoma for 5 years. So we're heading back across the state.

I'll be tackling the responsibility of 2 churches. Nothing I haven't done before.

Don't worry, it's a lot longer than it was in that picture and it's still growing! Okay, leaving for real. A project on Phyllis Wheatley is calling my name. More like haunting me.
