Lauren - I have never stayed at AKL, but have friends who have, and I have never heard a bad thing about it. Disney in December.......AWESOME!!!

Pumba - Did you ever figure out why it was going off at that ridiculous time of the morning? Good things for goog neighbors, but I hope they were able to go back to sleep after that wake up.

Eli update: He and his entire family were at church today! I did not see them because they usually sit on the north side of the building in the balcony and I sit on the south side under the balcony. Although thanks to friends FB posts, I knew they were there. Please continue to pray for him this week. It is going to be a rough one.

One of the smoke detectors in the hallway had dust in it...probably hubby didnt clean it out after he cleaned the carpets on the way up...so it went off...so it is an older model so he bought a new one..

Only thing I heard hubby say to the fire dept when they called...was I am on my way..dont knock down the doors or the windows...hahaha...just dont need to do any more work there...hahaha.......the firemen did say NICE PLACE...

I am ready for bed already...tired and pooped out..

Well I make though High School with Nicholas....it is coming up on exams in two weeks and I am pushing him to study but he says he has it under control blah blah blah. I don't see him doing anything. And now they have this thing called CAT that has to be handed in with the exam. It is suppose to help them study , it questions, maps and cue cards that have to be made up. This is for each subject. It is a big chunk of marks too. He has over 200 questions to do and only had 33 done in Science. This is the subject he hasn't been doing too well in all year. Plus he has a project in this subject due on Friday.

I am stressed he is not.

Then hubby wanted him to be signed up for a baseball camp that runs every Saturday starting Feb until May. I said no way , that is my only day to sleep in and if we wanted to go away for the weekend we couldn't. I tell him the reasons I don't want this and he keeps asking me , am I sure he can't sign him up. .....these guys are going to drive me insane.

I talk but do they listen .....

And poor Buddy won't come out from hiding since we came back. What happen to my nice normal schedule , no problems or stress. I want to go back on the ship. Even after I saw the pictures of Costa. Scary stuff they went though all over a dumb Captain showing off.

Nab I'm telling you, I thing I'm going bald pulling my hair out! DD and studying - she'd start at 8pm stay up all night! The boys, were much like your son!

DH stayed home today - weather predicted to be bad - rain turned to ice - it hasnt happened yet Still predicted!

Still having vertigo problems - hard to get or stay online - or stay upright!

Nab - just one more reason for me not going on a cruise!!

PS - apparently dd is NOT Talking to us! sheesh I'm sure it has to do with the fact we demanded that she clean her Guinea Pig cages, and she refused. so obviously we are the MEAN parents, and she wont talk to us!

We are having freaky weather for January that is for sure. Really heavy fog all day with rain off and on. Suppose to drop down to make it all nice and icy here too. The snow on top for Thursday's weather.

Hope not because I have to take Buddy for his shots then, that is if I can catch him to put him back in the cage.

Nothing much to report here other then the weather....

Moo-- are you watching the newest Biggest Loser. Those trainers sure are battling to win this year. Poor contestants....

I watched the Betty White Birthday special last night. Hope I look as good and move just as good at 90 as she does.

Still getting my bearings after being on vacation and trying to get over this darn bronchitis

Nabbie - I was pretty freaked out by the Costa accident but felt that the DCL crew was VERY safety conscious!

Will try to post some vacation pics in the next couple days.

Took me a while to get caught up on my Biggest Loser viewing. I'm really not feeling it for the contestants yet this season! Not liking the drama. The trainers certainly are competetive this time though.

Moo-- at least we had our cruise before , if we were still getting on the ship it would be weird I just keep thinking them sitting down to dinner like we did and it happen. Yes they do drills all the time, I think this was all about the Captain.

It is so cold out today. I wish it would just stay one temp. instead of going way up then way down in a day. It makes the cold days seem worse. It was raining and very windy last night I thought the house would have blown away. This morning everything that was blown over is frozen to the side walk. Brrrr.

Off to take Hannah to the dentist the an Alter servering meeting after dinner. Busy night.

I play spider solitaire while it decides if it will connect to the sites or not...still slow today ..wonder if it had anything to do with the blackouts yesterday in the US..
Today is COLD..3 degrees and still ...at least the winds died down...yesterday with the wind chill...FORGET going out...we stayed put and put the thermostat up and put more clothes on...I really really liked my old house cause it was so nice and toasty all the time...

I am trying so hard to be good in my eating again...I tested 100 this morning which is FANTABULOUS>...I was so happy...of course I had to go to bed at 9:15 cause I was still hungry...so I ate a few cheese its and went to bed...watched tv...

there is a post on this board about dog beds...AND yah we bought a doggie bed for Megara....and she likes our bed better...we didnt plan on this but she was sick and we wanted to make sure she was okey so we took her to bed with us...like 7 years ago...and she has been with us since..she sleeps on the couch during the day or the big chair upstairs...we put those small type blankets on it for her...cause a Dalmatian sheds year round...those little bitty white wires they call dog hair...

I tried on my bathing suit and I am so excited...My cup didnt runeth over...so it fits...hey I wore it in Disney and that was it last year...didnt want to shell out another 60 bucks for a new one...this one I got at JC Pennys and it has belly control...gotta love something that helps me keep my gutt in...my one big problem is that area...

Had my doctors appointment and I do believe she thinks I am crazy...or nuts maybe...I talk like I do to you ..I talked that way to her...Like my cup didnt runeth over in my bathing suit...and stuff like that...have to go for blood work on Saturday morning..cause it is a 12 hour fasting...I will starve to death before that comes up..

I almost posted on the old thread this morning.

Tired I guess, thank goodness it is Friday I can sleep in tomorrow.

We had a minin snow storm yesterday. Really blowing and had even shovel snow this time. Says it is -14 C out there right now so brrrr. Hannah made me laugh because she said they made them go out for recess yesterday in the blowing snow. I told her it wasn't rain and that she got spoiled with the mild winter. They always go out unless it is -22 C or raining.

Hubby and I are going to go watch The Girl With The Dragon Tatto this morning. I have been waiting for it to show during the day so I can go while the kids are at school. It has been out for awhile so I don't want to miss it. I read all three books and really like them. Saw the Swedish version with subtitles but they say this one is better.

Where is everyone hiding out these days? Must be busy or just plain hibernating I can understand that.....

Last night hubby and I went to Margaritas and I was so good...Only ate one half of my chicken chmmichunga and a little of the rice...BUT I did eat the salsa and chips while we waited...THIS morning I tested really good aGAIN...104...I think I am trying to be good and it is showing up on the blood testing..

We had a mini storm too last night...blowing and very light fluffy snow...no one could even try to make a snow man in this stuff...If Ava brings her snow pants then I will go out and try to push it aside with the shovel...Its not heavy so I am not worried..

It is sixteen F..and our schools dont go out unless it is above 15...anything lower and they are in...fifteen to twenty and they have just a few minutes outside...I think it is to clear their heads...HOPE SO...

Yesterday Ava was restless so she vacuumed for me upstairs and down...she loves to do that...HAHAHA...I of course do the sides and the unders..

GOOD MORNING... BRRRrrrrr someone turn the heat up please! (its been below zero windchill factors here - and Pumba, the school's here dont let kids outside if its below 32F - wimps I tell ya! Which makes it hard substituting, watching all those prettys...)

Moo I'm with you on the after-a-vacation cold... or crud. Hope you're feeling better, drinking lots of herbal tea here -

lol - DD calls me at store and tells me to get her some "Sleepy Time tea" (she gets so wound up at night she cant sleep) So I read her the ingredients, knowing full well its the non-caffeine, chamomille that is the main ingredient - some have mint (both spearmint and peppermint! ) some have lemon, some have passionfruit, or blackberry - its all about the label! So I found some "stress relief" tea - purported to have "kava" in it - Now I'm remembering a news magazine show that filmed a kava kava ritual, a nice relaxing herb - so she makes the tea, and wanted to sleep curled up on the chair!! That mind! (I'm saying if there was any kava in that tea, it would not be noticeable, but dd believed it, so it worked...)

NabI just have another reason not to go on a cruise! lol - I watch a lot of the morning shows, I wonder if he'll stick to the story "he fell off and into a lifeboat"! or was he drinking with a hot blond? lol, really?! I know captain's get to eat, and have that special table and all - but the carafe on the deck while going close to the rock? Someone said that they were watching the carafe of wine? I think Disney does have lots of drills, and thinks about safety - this cruise line hadnt had one yet - it was scheduled for the NEXT day! I keep thinking, you have to leave everything behind - your purse with your money, credit cards, documents... that gives me panic attacks!

well, my eyes are getting blurry, sneezing way too much right now....

Time for meds!

WTG on the health!! wooHOO!!!! I'm on day 5, down 8 water pounds!! Wish it could be like Biggest Loser - double digits every week! (without the annoying sweating of course! LOL)

Sandy-- that was the whole problem they didn't sound the alarm early enough for people to prepare. Disney does do a good job. They actually tell you to go get your passports and meds. Put your heaviest clothes on etc. And of course your life jacket. If you can't get back to your room there is extra life jackets. This does not scare me from cruising.

Just got back from the show. Hubby said we should go to the morning shows more often. $6.00/person. Cost more for the soda and popcorn. The movie was really good. Very close to the book , some changes but there always is. Hope the Hungry Games is just as close and good. That one comes out the day before my birthday.

Yep, I have been hibernating and trying to get back into the swing of work. Ughhh! It has been so hard to concentrate at work while taking meds for my chest congestion, but I'm finally starting to feel better.

Cold, cold, cold here as well. SUCH a shock to the system after Florida/Bahamas weather!!! I went out after work tonight even though it was snowing and picked up a few groceries so I can just relax at home tomorrow while hubby is out spending time with his dad (his normal Saturday thing to do). I have been wanting to get into our hot tub since I've been home from vacations, but between all the wood smoke in the air at night, which really aggravates my breathing, and the cold, I haven't been able to manage it

I'm all caught up on my Biggest Loser episodes, but have a few other things DVRed that I can watch tomorrow. But I've mostly been finding new books to read on the Kindle (Christmas gift from my DD).

morning..
I had to go to the hospital lab this morning for a 12 hour fast blood tests...I had 9 different codes for testing...and the tech took four vials...not bad at all..In fact this girl was so good I didnt feel a thing and she got that blood fast..I will request hospital labs over the doctors blood sucker...The doctors blood person did just one little blood test and omg she hurts me every time...so now I am finally happy with my coffee and I had a fast breakfast...I was starving..

I love the freebies from Ereader and also pixel in ink..I have read a few and will give my son an amazon card because some of the new books are out from our favorite authors..Lincoln Child and Douglas preston....fantastic books...I want to save one for my trip to Disney...

today it is still cold out and overcast...they said a little more snow is coming..snow after snow after snow storm and THEN MONDAY RAIN...well I hope its rain...get rid of some of this stuff..

Pumba Glad everything went fast and painless!! Hope the results are just as positive!

and I got dh the $79 touch kindle, with ads - its not obtrusive at all - the ad only shows on the "sleep" page - once you turn it on, you dont see the ads! His touch took some getting used to - I like the buttons to turn the page better - but the screen for the books is the same size as my $139 Kindle!

I love love love my kindle - it fits in my purse, so I stop in for a bite to eat, or relax with a cup of tea, and I have my kindle. Waiting for dd - I have my kindle!

On the plane to Disney - KINDLE! (of course the airlines do NOT understand kindles so I have to turn it off - nope, just close the case, its not like internet until I turn it on!)

Ihad to hide the rubbish in our old house and this one too...she would like to try to recycle it all...edible or not..
We had a turkey dinner with stuffing and cranberry sauce...it was so good...Now I guess I will have one more meal out of it and then I will make a turkey pie and freeze whatever it left...almost a 20 lber...thought we were having the kids over but our son said..THE GAME is on ...cant come...and same with our daughter...they all forgot the importance of todays game...so we have alot of turkey..

ONLY SO MUCH I CAN EAT>..hahaha...

still very cold here....it was minus ten and then went all the way up to 16...and then the sun hit the probe and wow...21...that was it for the day...oh well...the house warmed up with the turkey in the oven...

It is suppose to be spring weather tomorrow and rain. Crazy I tell you since it has been cold and snowing yesterday.

Busy week ahead. Exams start on Friday, have to get on Nicholas , Hannah's class is doing the monthly mass at school on Wed and skating day on Thursday. Have to tie up some skates for the kids.
