Pumba, yikes on falling 3 times, not good! Hope you feel better

Nab, you can't count on kids to stay home, sadly (look at me, i'm clear across the ocean and DS is 2,500 miles away).

Khaki called in sick again today, so lunch got moved to Monday, Guess it will be a wedding lunch instead of a bridal shower lunch, oh well....

Nabbie - I haven't made my flight reservations yet. We may drive down and visit Mari for a few days after Christmas, so I may fly to Florida from the airport near her then fly home after the cruise. I need to figure out which airport I would fly home to, since Don will need to pick me up and the weather may be iffy. It's more expensive to fly into the closest airport and there are no non-stop flights. I think I can get both flights for well under $300.

Ouch, Pumba!!! You may want to see if PetSmart or one of the big chain pet stores has the Thundershirts in stock. I think you'd be pleased with the results, but they do recommend a litte bit of training so that your dog doesn't shy away from having it put on. We keep the chest closure Velcroed so we can just pull it over Jasper's head. He doesn't seem to mind that, but we gave him treats the first few times putting it on.

Marita - Sorry to hear your lunch was postponed. Hope Khaki gets better soon!

I came down with a migraine this morning right after getting out of the shower. Bad timing, since I had an important meeting. I went into work as soon as I was able to and was only about 20 minutes late for my meeting. My supervisors are pretty understanding -- they know that I get vision issues and can't see to drive. It usually takes about 45 minutes after getting some medication in me before I can see properly. Kinda scary, but at least I know what to do now once a migraine starts in order to get it to stop!

The twinkie twins were discussing how to jinx someone in pig latin today. I thought of this thread and all my deer friends.

Hope you are all happy and healthy.

Care to elaborate on that connection? :confused3

Hope all of the Twinkie clan is well too, miss you!!

morning..
Okey you guys wont believe this.........but its HONEST TO GOODNESS TRUTH..

When my DIL were first working on the dining room and cleaning the walls and then filling the holes with that white goop and then painting them over....well I kept on smelling a smell.....thought maybe some food was in the baseboard and it was rotted....SOOOOOOO fast forward four weeks.....yesterday hubby smelled the smell........I havent bothered sniffing lately, but he smelled it ...so on the wall of the dining room that is on the same side of the garage...he gets down on his knees and sniffs...he takes off the electrical outlet and almost keels over from the "aroma" ...so he calls me and says we may have to postpone moving cause he may have to tear off part of the wall and find the little stinker..maybe a dead animal...and MOI thinking....Okey to much NCIS and CSI and CRIMINAL MINDS>...I think......OMG a person has been stuffed into a two inch wall....hahaha........so last night ...we dont take Megara over cause he is going to go climbing in the big opening in the garage next to the new chimney...SOOOOO up he goes with a hanging light.......I am at the bottom of the ladder...........he says......finally........you wont like this.....and I am thinking......so I yell.........WHAT IS IT......is it a Bat or a Rat or a Raccoon??? What is it......no dont tell me......so he says....go and get a big trash bag....and I thought.......WHAT IS THAT BIG.....so he has his gloves on and down he comes.......the guy that owned the house before he was moved to Florida with the Navy.....was a hunter and he had put a carcas of a deer.......drying it out........well it was NOT getting there and I almost croaked.......hope and pray that is it the stink.......he did say that there are mouse turds up there too...so maybe a little critter feasting on the carcas fell in between the wall and died too......so we are sitting here waiting and sniffling...
SOOOOOOO another day in the continuing saga of Marie aka the pig...ROFL..

Hope you all have a good day

Pumba-- what luck you have.....I too hope that is the end of your smell drama. I would have been speechless and freaked out. We are no hunters.

Twinkie -- Nice to see you. How is the twin doing that had surgery all better now,is she done sugeries now I hope?

Moo-- We don't have it so lucky paying $300. If we were to fly out of here it would have cost us $2000. more then our trip for four of us.:scared1: We are hoping to spend at least half of that if not less.

Marita-- Are you going to Khaki's wedding? Has it been super hot down there , my sister is heading down on Saturday but going to Universal to see Harry Potter.

Well it is actually nice out this morning after all that rain yesterdays. Parts of the city actually got flooded yesterday. We are heading off to the amusement park today (Wonderland) Heard they are calling for thunderstorms this afternoon but hopefully late because we can be done by then. The coasters for the boys, kiddie land for Hannah and I fun, fun.

Pumba, wow, what a nasty surprise. Hope you get it fixed soon.

Nab, i'm not going to Khaki's wedding party, it's in Ft. Lauderdale, not driving down there! She still sounded terrible today, but left in the PM to get on the flight to Vermont for the knot-tying. Apparently flying with a sinus infection is not much fun/ Bad timing.

DD is somewhere in Tennessee tonight, so hopefully she will get home sometime tomorrow night. I will rest much better once she is home.

/
O.M.G., Pumba!!! Who in the heck would ever DO that??! Hope removing the carcass takes care of the odor. Fingers crossed!

Nabbie - Yikes! I hope my airfare estimate is still accurate. I haven't checked lately. Guess I'd better get things figured out soon while fuel prices seem to be down a bit. Just found out last night that my friend who is cruising with me has breast cancer and is going to need to go through surgery and radiation soon. Please send some prayers for her. It sounds like they caught it pretty early.

Hi, Twink! Hope you and your family are doing well also. I echo Marita's request for an update on your DD :)

Marita - Glad your daughter is making good progress on her drive! I'm always nervous when Mari is driving to and from here.

Marita-- Safe travels for you dd and hope she makes it home today!

Moo-- Hope your friend is still going to be ok to go with you. Prayers for her speedy recovery and health.

We made it to Wonderland yesterday. I weather was a bit strange. We had sun showers, heavy rain and beautiful breezy sunny weather in between. Must say this was the first time I was on a roller coaster when it was raining. Totally different experince I tell you. It wasn't a big coaster at least so it wasn't a very long ride and we were undercover while they loaded and unloaded people. Hannah loved it though , she laughed her head off. The rain was only in the morning too so we were glad we stayed for the rest of the day.

Not sure what is on the agenda today, Nicholas has baseball tonight so I don't think we will do too much.

My niece who graduated from NSCD this past May is going to ALberta in the fall and she will do intern work at Medalta in Medicine Hat. It is some pottery place that she will get loads of experience working with some professionals...
I dont really know much about what she does...but she makes some cute pots and dishes and other items that are weird....

SUN IS OUT.......but I shouldnt say it to loud cause lately it will rain on one side of the house and sun on the other.....weird but that is weather for ya...Yesterday we were outside and before I could say ...AVA run...the black sky came upon us and dumped on us...ROFL..we got pelted with rain...

Guess I will go and pack some more stuff.....and throw stuff out...cause I can..
OH I FOUND some of the pampered chef items that my two nieces had gotten me for gifts....One is a bread or loaf pan, one is a mini pan and a square stone..
all of this is stoneware...I like my stuff..

DD made it back to Orlando safely tonight, YAY! She called to say she was at her friends house that drove down with her, and she was tired and taking a nap, probably spending the night there. I'm just glad the girls made it back safely!

We had an awesome pep rally today at work for a new big program they are rolling out all over Resorts, adding more managers, pool activities, room ready at arrival resources, etc.
So for our pep rally, the theme was "Hollywood Awards SHow", It was great, it was funny, the leadership team dressed up in tuxes and gowns, the Studios entertainment department dressed up the room. there were pictures on monitors, nominees and winners, non-alcohol champagne, swag bags with clappers and disposable cameras and snacks, lively music, visit from VP in a pink Pink Panther tux, a "in memoriam" section for processes that are now gone but never forgotton. etc. The clappers were great, used for entry of any new people arriving and for beat to the music.
Oh, and upon arrival, you had to take a pargo to a back entrance where there was a red carpet, and screaming fans with cameras. and reporters and photographers and leadership team members in tuxes were ushers.
Our head housekeeping manager, who is black, donned this HUGE afro wig, LOL.

Anyway, very fun. The VP said ours was the most fun and spirited rally (only one area to go)
It was called the "Sassy Awards", for Sassagoula River that Port sits along

Thought I had posted last night, but guess I didn't!

Nabbie - I hope my friend is OK by the cruise also. I may go visit her in Ohio at some point this fall after her surgery and treatment so I can see how she's doing. I'm glad we got the trip insurance.

Marita - Yay for your DD making it home safely!!! :goodvibes Sounds like you had a fun work event!

Pumba - I love most of my Pampered Chef stuff too. Wonder if Cel is still selling it . . . Hope you make some good progress this weekend and that it's no longer stinky poo at the new place

It's Saturday and a lot of chores to do. Hubby is back to work now for the next five days so I should be able to get someithing done.

We went back to Ikea yeseterday and got the desk for Hannah's room that was out of stock last time. then we Went bed hunting for Nicholas. I hate mattress shopping but he finally decided on one that wasn't over our budget. He keep going to the $3000- $4000 ones. I don't even have one of those.

So now I have to clean out Hannah's room to make room for the desk started that last niight. Hubby has the desk half build. Then have to get into Nicholas room and do the same by Friday when the bed comes. My kids are pack rats too. Hoping this time Nicholas will let go of some stuff this time.

Plus don't forget I have to to do this too:laundy:

Pumba --When do you think you will be moving in your new place?

Marita-- It always sounds fun working where you do. Well when you are having fun and not do forcasts. Glad your dd is home safe and sound.

Moo-- Hopefully you don't have to use that insurance.

My hubby and our son is at the new place and I have been packing here ...MORE STUFF......I can bring over kitchen, livingroom and bedroom stuff...I did our closet.....found another pampered chef square stone ware....YES I am all set...I use my round stone for everything.......it is well seasoned and almost looks cruddy
Last night hubby was talked into going thru the wall from the garage side...YES YES YES....the stink was right there...he cut a square big enough to do the three sides of whatever they call it between the wood thingies....ROFL ..yah I am well versed in wood and electrical stuff.....so the stink that was horrible and I mean horrible was mouse droppings and the urine....it was in the insulation that was between the walls.......so hub removed the insulation as I stood there gagging (holding the trash bag open) and he will go up in the attic today with a dozen mouse traps and find the sucker that is stinking it up..He will also take the remaining insulation out and replace it with new stuff...the only place you can smell it in the dining room is if you get down on the floor and sniff the recepticle....ROFL...so I wont do that.
Marita....I am so glad that your dd is home where she belongs.......and tell her dogs are not a girls best friend....unless it is a stuffy....maybe she should get a betta ..My Indy is very cute and is 3 years old now...he knows when I come in the room and dances in his tank...and begs for food.....yah they are smart ...

have a good day everyone...back to work

hi guys! ...i 'm soooo excited you "all" are still here! :thumbsup2

..as for me, i am sorry been away, :flower3:

but i am still shaaking though not baking [ my wife is much better,
trust me!]

ok? our alaska/disneyland cruise/trip was darn near prefect.! but the one
the one thing that went wrong....has me a lil'depress. :sad2:.

while on the tram in atlanta, this monster/350 lber -6/10 man was
not holding on and crushed me. [ i had to catch him because i was in his
line of fire.] my wife scream..and all i saw, he had an appox. 3mos.
baby in his left hand. catching him took me to the floor. no
one was hurt. except in the exchange he ripped my camera out of
my pocket. [ it had like 1400 pictures.] it has not turned up. but
it might have been knocked under the tram. crazy airport sent me
someone else. i won't ever forget that baby, he was smiling
liked "let's do this again". { boy] .

that camera required a specfic recharger. and not worth much.
80$ brand new. however, it was a
great , great trip!!! 4-ex., @ dinner one night, our server talking
how he never seen a orca yet.. then my wife screamed.."there one
now-surfacing". it made the whole place raced over to our table!

did find the same camera & the same carrying case. the other
one had our address on the memory card. we did buy the cruise
pictures. on the way home, we went passed a terrible semi
wreck. so it isn't the worst thing, by far!

moo? you're so right about the majority posting on the members'
boards. as you all know, i had to get involved & some of the very
un-disney experiences..we have had. { we will never feel safe
@ blt...s/p what we saw going on (nasty) ]. fyi, others also posting
about dvc workers walking in. one had her credit card stolen. this
was early this year but after we were there. now i read another
cc incident 2 akl. did you know they fired the dvc president?

oh, just like to re-visit, the thing about the osu coach. the point
wasn't about "football" but being done wrong by those in authority
positions. as you know, i had to face a serious wrong done to me,
where the legal system - were doing illegal stuff. i do like college
football but only in general & mostly what "it can be" for all the players
and their families. and especially for the bands.

oh, moo? did i tell you, i ran into the msu players again, @ universal?!
..the band was playing there too! the 2 things i really admired
the osu coach was the troy smith won the h. trophy. football
turned his life around from the gangs. also how he respected
other teams/coaches by never running up any score.

what sports ill. did should be criminal if not already. anyhoo, the facts
will come out. this is really strange... situation. the fact is, the original
violations were small ones. the the coach mishandled it but exactly
how isn't understood. why do colleges give the players stuff if
what they do with it can be against the rules?! also the ncaa are
expecting coaches/all coaches to assume a parent role with
their players- is simply impossible. the players are adults/young
adults that are likely to make errors in judgment. as we traveled,
many people i talk too- can't believe this is happening.

sports ill. @ the end of the article made the comment that "he proved",
the only goal was to do anything to win. oh really?! you can't imagine
how that burns! they are ignoring the terrible cheating going on
the field. { not talking about the players, or teams, or coaches, or fans
or families....}. they - sports ill. need to revisit/reread their 1990
article after colorado was given 5 downs ( each team only get 4)
to beat mizz. tigers. how important that action ? 3 mos later
colorado "wins" the national championship. i feel bad anytime
i see wrongful acts being done against any team. as far as i am
concern, mich.- not usc, won the 79 rose bowl.

they do all of this?#! over this & yet ignored what happened @ cincy
when their coach left them ( 11-0) right before the major bowl
game. fla killed them but they didn't win nothing. this hurt both
teams, and all involved. yet they ignored it.

sorry getting off topic, moo? msu has something special going
because they have one terrific coach. and the big ten network
focusing on the kids [ from all the teams } is something i like
to see all colleges/league follow. [ i still think they are currently
destroying college football traditions for $. i would show them
a structure that could do both- protect & profit - but they don't
want a health specialist input, :rolleyes1]

where's i am @ in life? i am really happy. i am still working but also
doing serious retirement planning. while it 's true..i make just as
many mistakes as the next person in life matters. but i think
my successes are good example on the "possibilities" if one
improve & move on. last year i came to realized that maturity
gives a person insights & the "gift" to look back on all the good things
they have been given. long ago, i felt the most precious gift on
earth- is "time." most people spend time on measuring it. but
i think the secret toward the "payoffs", are the ways we chose to
measure it. many think 100 years is "old". not me! my opinion,
none of us live a long time. we just think we do because others
are here in less time. family time is what i value most. but i
have spent much time @ work. possessions are too me, my "tools"
to use time for all kind of activities including dvc for recreational.
life to me, is 2 things. first a state of being-where good health
matters- and second, the reality of change-/changing. it's crosses
over to death--interesting enough from my observations
{ health field} , death = 2 concepts , similar to the references made
@ changing/change itself. death is the lack of being, much like the color
"black" is lacking light/color...death/dying. dying is a process of take
away -time.it can take alot changing or in a blink of your eyes.

with all these things going on & the fact human development takes
2 groups of physical changes and "times" growing up. is it any
woonder we have trouble grasping all the meanings for life and
if our existance matters @ all? well, as you been hearing from me
all these years, you kinda know my hobby is "thinking & observing".
...here's what i have came to learn this year?

i believe every life has a deep & true "meanings" connected to the force
that created us to being. this belief has come through growing up
( better than saying old?), & experiences including those i shared
my time with, psst that you all too! when one ends with death, i
disagree that we "don't take nothing with us." we do, take something
that our whole life has given us whenever our time runs out. and
we also leave something behind. * ps, note that here are sections
in the holy Bible that i have been trying to understand for "years".
& influenced my insights. { not my knowledge]. it also based on
adding the designs of human being and the specific areas that
does not change-ever. all i am saying.."when all said & done", there
is/are exact changes/times for life that can be measure & valued
even after our passing. just because we do not know the meanings
for our life does not "mean" there isn't any. and it is that element
that i have realized this time around. and i am "thinking", every person
are designed with similar potentials to discover their own meanings
thru time.

advances in health care is nice but it is alarming when we forget
the previous knowledge that does not change. c'mom we should not
throw the baby out with the bath water! [ when i am work- is where
you will find me @ my most serious intent.] this was passed onto me
by those i used to work for, & now i am passing it on. think! is
a useful activity.

benefits of keeping active? well those we seen living the longest are
those farmers. up & @ it..all day long. because we run on chemical
interactions, movements keeps us going & feeling good! so why
i may be retiring, i will still be active.

my wife... has been the prefect match for me. luck more than anything
else. i was looking @ movies i took when my lil' ariel was 6 & doing
her lil'mermaid thing. wow! i forgotten how much she looked the part!
so funny, she using her barbie as a microphone.

nabby girl? canada is a beautiful country. but the blue-est skies were
in seattle! ha! remember the old show-"here come the brides"? the
problem in seattle is being built on a cliff. up & down , you go!
the thing about the alaska cruise? even if you just stayed in
room and looked out the window , you still would have been dazzled.

so who's going to disney world?

Thought I would post a few pictures of your holidays...

Just a reminder of what we were traveling with...

Lil G - Sounds like you had a good Alaska cruise, all in all (other than the caera)! I did see that about the DVC president being fired. Kind of shocking, but it sounds like there was a pretty major Aulani screw-up  And I was kind of shocked to see all the posts about DVC members not being able to book cruises on points. Yikes. I'm sure Marita is glad she's not dealing with any DVC accounting stuff any more!

I'm going back to WDW in January. w00t!

Nabbie - Cute vacation pics!!! Thanks for sharing :goodvibes I sure am hoping my friend gets through her treatment and is feeling OK by January. Nicholas's hair looks pretty short!

I had a pretty lazy, relaxing weekend. Our power went out for a couple hours this afternoon, but fortunately came back on this evening. We went for a drive to see where all the power was out and it was pretty widespread, even at our Meijer store. We went in and did a little shopping - kind of freaky that there only a few lights on with the generator power, but they had quite a few checkout lanes open, thank goodness ;)

Pumba - One of our secretaries at work has a Beta on her counter and it has been fun having him there. Our office also recently acquired a 55 gallon aquarium and we now have five large goldfish in it in our reception area. It has been quite the conversation starter!

hello out there in never ever land..hahaha

Well today we started off by putting the box spring and mattress on the queen bed...then I made it up...emptied a few more boxes that I could...and hubby went and did the last part of that wall..cause we could smell some of the "aroma"...yah right......well now it smells like vinegar....so for that I am thankful...no mice dead in the traps so we are assuming that the 100 degrees in the garage attic was to much for them....they are out side probably.....but when they come in for the winter they are in for a BIG surprise...snap...insert evil laugh here..

THEN when our son arrived to help..(he has come almost every weekend and part of his vacation too) ...we went in the front door ..and I said oh look at the way the sun makes the wall look......and OMGOODNESS........it wasnt that it was a different color paint......one whole room was done in the wrong color and part of the family room and the entrance way......MY HUSBAND was not impressed....a whole day wasted (which was yesterday)... we went back to the store with a bazillion of our receipts so they could see we have bought probably close to 70 gallons of white and open sesame paint...that is the color name...the asst manager said that we should be compensated and she would leave a message to the manager tomorrow to call us tomorrow.a whole day wasted and they did give us the right color today..

so hopefully the rooms will be finished up this week and we can move the rest of our stuff in.....
Love seeing your photos Nab...and what a trip to be able to see all that ...

Grumpy ...always good to see you too

Moo..did you see my tag ...it says Mr. Feeney came out well done....my first beta was cooked in hot water.....I washed the tank out and put in the same temp water..HOT...I goofed...well he didnt make it and we flushed him...Then I had one that lasted four years ...Indy is over three now and doing really good....well except he lost his fin....oh well
