Pumba, whats wrong with a tshirt for the day? thats my uniform after work

Finally got my pedicure today, but boy, the young guy doing it couldnt have been more bored.............:sad2: Not that I expect ecstasy doing my feet, but can you at least be professional? And I think i have nice feet as feet go.

Tomorrow I absolutely have to color my hair, plus a shopping trip for a new PC is on the list. This one died on me a couple of times (it rebooted), so I am getting ahead of the curve getting one before this one dies for good.
Did anyone read about people that totally panick if they cant get online? Yep, that's me!!
So, BestBuy, here I come..............

Oh, I was online with work tonight at 9pm (dont ask) and got an invite to the whole division for a meeting at 1 pm on the day we have the surprise wedding lunch for Khaki planned. So I emaile right away and he moved the meeting to a day earlier, whew!

I know I am old...but I sleep in a t shirt that I dont like...and a pair of skivvies...that is it...I cant do jammies or night gowns...I feel like someone is strangling me..
Yesterday gd and her boyfriend came to help...we dragged over her bedroom set that we gave her ( she doesnt need it now) and put it in the bedroom she claimed when she comes to visit..also put in her closet things that she will need next year for an apartment ...She was lucky this year as she and her boyfriend are living in his parents house....They are so good to her and even made one of the "boys" rooms feminine...he is working on his masters this year and she is doing her second year of studies for pharmacy..one year down, two to go and one year internships...
So her bedroom is finished...the other bedrooms are done too but we need to get another bedroom set for the other room and then we will bring ours when we move in...
Marita ...we need photos of the pup....ITS funny, my mil had an 8 x 10 photo of Jasmine and she called her ..her granddog too...the dog loved her and she loved jasmine...she would buy birthday and Christmas gifts for the doggie and wrap them up and let Jasmine unwrap them...she thought that was so funny...

have a good day my friends..

I'm Back!!!!

Hubby is taking the trailer back to storage as we speak. Now I have everything, and I mean everything just inside the door. Got to get the wash going too.

Dentist fixed my tooth before we left thank goodness and had not other problems.

We had internet in a few places but either were out and about , got in late or it was too darn slow to do anything. So I saved all my rambles for now, or should I say later.

Moo Happy Belated Birthday , hope you had a great one!

Have to go make a dent at least in this pile of stuff , then I will be back.....

YAY! Nabbie's back!!! Hope you had a great trip -- looking forward to hearing about it :)

Thanks for the birthday wishes.

I know how frustrating it can be to get calls from the doctor's office and have to wait through the weekend to call them back :headache:

Sounds like you will be doing LOTS of :laundy:

:laundy: is never ending......

And then I have company on top of it all. My house is a wreck from empty all the trailers contents in down stairs rooms, kitchen living room front hall. It was my aunt and uncle from far away so it was a nice surprise. They were in town with grandkids that play lacrosse. There was a tournment. This is a long weekend for us too.

We were gone 2 1/2 weeks and it flew by. Started in Ohio, then Illionis the first two nights.

Stayed in Branson , Mo for two nights. Went to see a show there called the Baldknobber. They were the first show there. They are all family. They sang old country that my mom loved and I know from growing up. And had lots of stand up comdey that the kids just loved. Laughed so hard. All the real big names come down in the fall and do Christmas shows. This is also were Nicholas saw Harry Potter and Hannah saw Winnie the Pooh. Add some outlet shopping and that was our stay.

They we moved off to Arlington Texas. Very HOT there! We got searched at the border coming across. I told hubby it was because they didn't believe we were going to Texas where it was so hot. He even warned us about it. He did let me keep my one tomato I had. Not allowed to bring them over. Stayed in here in two different campsites for 5 days.

Went to the Dallas to find the American Doll store for Hannah. There was a beautiful mall there. Hannah got an outfit for Ruthie and a matching one for herself.

She also got a Build a Bear at another mall. It was the Texas Longhorn. Only can get it there. We had to go back three times because it had a hole in the leg. Every time we thought we check good enough the next day we found a hole. It was a bad shipment. They gave her $10 bear bucks to spend and I can't remember what else. We finally got a good one. She has been carry him around the whole trip.

Nicholas got to do a backstage tour of the Arlington Baseball Stadium. He really like that, then two nights later Toronto played the Rangers there and he would say I was in that dug out. It was here he also got to see Harry Potter on the IMAX theater. The girls shopped while there were there. My kids are too spoiled .....

The we were off to Houston to go to the Space center. I enjoyed that more then I thought I would. It was the same day the last challenger came home. So everyone was reved up about that.

Then we are off too Baton Rouge....New Orleans. This was the only day we got rain and a lot of it so we didn't see much of it. Did the riverwalk shopping. Very busy, lots of traffic in this part of downtown. We did not go where Katrina hit. They do have tours but like I said it was raining. We did the Plantations here one day as well. Loved this. Toured Oak Valley Sugar Plantation. Huge oak trees line the front. It is the most used on in films and tv so that is why I chose this one. Homus House had beautiful grounds but was modernized inside. This is where Nicholas and Hubby tried Po boy sandwiches, alagator nuggets and gumbo.

Off to Alanta Ga. Here we went to the World of Coke and the CNN building. You can drink all the pop you want. They do have the same kind of stations set up like Epcot only they give you a big cup. Or you can make you own swamp type drink using a bunch of different flavours. Then at the end they give you a free little bottle of coke. They is a 4D movie there, old commerials playing in another theater, Coke pictures and promotions from year past. The Coke bear of course. We got our picture taken with him. Spent a small fortune in the coke store before walking across Olympic Park to the CNN building. This was my favourite. You got to see them actually doing the news and what some do while waiting to go back on camera. That was funny. Guess they are so used to the people watching them on the tours because one was texting and looking really bored and doing like a raspberry think with her mouth. The weather man was touching up his makeup with a compact he took from his pocket. Another was just swinging in there chair. One lady kepted asking "Where is Anderson Cooper" He told her he was in New York so every time we passed his picture he would tell her there he is....:lmao:

Our last two stops were Virgina and Erie. Just did shopping and campsite stuff with the kids here. I used to like Erie shopping but didn't find much this time. Hannah got some school clothes.

Then we had to take grandma home. Where I visited with family for the day before coming home last night. I guess my mom has a racoon living in her attic and they have been trying to get it out for a week now. They have a trap set up but he is too smart I guess.

I guess I will have to get hubby to download our pictures we have tons. Hannah tried to take a picture of every State we went though. And of course herself and her stuff animals. Says she has 600 pictures. Not sure how many hubby took. He goes back to work tomorrow. Overtime and on a holiday. Have to pay for this trip.

Welcome back, NAB!! Looking forward to hearing your tales.

Pumba, that's what I sleep in too, LOL.

I was all set to go get a new laptop today to get it all set up and running before this one dies and I panik, but I wasnt feeling well all day, so I didnt.

Nicole called again today, wanting to get a puppy. I said NO WAY for the 1000's time. Cause you know what will happen: she'll move out to a place that doesnt allow pets and them im stuck with it for the next 15 years. So NO!

Another forecast week, woohoo!

welcome home NABBY....glad that you had a great and interesting trip...I think I would like to do that type of traveling too...maybe some day we will,,
My sister called from upstate NY and they were having Arbor fest and Herman hermits was singing.....so she called me and let me listen to some of his singing.......I did this for her when we were in Epcot and Chubby Checker was singing.......we have fun this way ...

Marita...hope you are feeling okey..maybe the heat got to you..???

GLAD that someone else sleeps ala old t shirts........I have one on that was hubbies and it has a fish on it.....gotta love when he got bigger and kept the t;s...this one is nice though...

Met some of the across the street neighbors as my daughter and I were pulling out the plastic the former owners put down to keep the weeds from growing over her JUNGLE...every thing is out of there now and we are ready for loam and new soil and GRASS........the bricks outside show up nice now..
THE house is starting to become a home......it is almost ...not quite but almost done..another week maybe..
When we went out back my daughter and I were taking out some of the old weeds and plants.......well all of a sudden a swarm of bees or something attacked my daughter and we started to yell and run for the house....I had a very sharp cutter in my hands and I dont even know how we did it ...or how we got into the house....she got bit once on her knee...it was wicked scarey..
hubby will protect the doggie and me by SPRAYING before our meg moves in with us..

well have a good night everyone..

marita how about a little yorkie...those are to cute and dont take up much room....??

Sounds like a great trip, Nabbie! Thanks for sharing :) Looking forward to seeing some pics when you get settled in.

Pumba - How scary about the swarm of bees at your new place  LOLing about your Yorkie suggestion for Marita!!!

Marita - Our dogs are half Yorkie ;) But I totally understand your not wanting another pup. SO expensive to board when you want to go on vacation, but I sure do miss ours when I'm away.

Marita-- I second the yorkie they are so cute! But dogs are lots of work, more the cats. Don't have to walk a cat.

Pumba-- Sounds like the house is coming around. Can't wait to see pictures of all your hard work.

Moo-- We did have a fun trip. Memories made that is for sure. Hubby is off next week too so we will do some day trips like Wonderland (amusement park) maybe a water park. With this weather the water parks are probably pretty busy.

I think my house is almost back to normal now. Wash is all done at least still have some papers here and there and some stuff the kids bought in bags here and there.

Nicholas is applying for his first job today. They are having a job fair at our Canadian Tire store. They are building a huge one opening in the fall. They are hiring 90 people and then going down to 60. I don't want him to get a job because he hasn't even started high school yet and he struggled with 8 grade. Plus being a teen he would probably work on weekends, that is when we go away to see family. Plus I can see him having to work Christmas and that is when we always go to my mom's, it is a tradition. I know I am worrying for nothing and he doesn't have the job yet. I guess I know deep down it would happen sooner or later that he would need a job to save some money for future schooling. He is growing up fast....

Pumba and Nab, I DO NOT WANR ANOTHER DOG, CUTE OR NOT.

If Nicole wants one, she can get it after she moves out of my house. Otherwise, I just know she will move to a place that doesnt allow pets and i will be stuck with it for the next 15 years.

Nab, yikes on Nicholas trying for a job. Yes, kids grow up fast, Chris will be 32 in 5 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:scared1:

I'm taking Friday off again this week, since Khaki will be off for her wedding activities the next 2 weeks. I think I may have worked 2 full weeks in the last 2 months (exluding vacation) Work is painfully slow, except forecast 2 days this week.... Things need to liven up here or I will die of boredom. But to break up the day, tomorrow is lunch at Frebch Quarter (Pork Po' boy), Thursday lunch at Earl of Sandwich (probably taking the boat), and then I'm off Friday, hoping to get a new laptop.

A new program finally rolled around to our resort, which is adding a bunch of resources, the most obvious of which is pool activites - dance parties, pool games, whats in you beach bag, etc,, primarily aimed at kids but adults can participate. Also added new managers and staff to try to get rooms readyas soon as you arrive.

Boy did I sleep in this morning....must be the rain outside.

We really need it though but it is a bad day for it for us because we are getting a new garage door put in today. The one on there now is orginal to the house and wood and it is peeling and you can see the door has been green , then purple( yes it was Barney purple when we bought it ) then we painted it white. The new door is white with windows. I am scared I picked the wrong windows and it will look bad. But how could it look any worse then peeling paint. Trouble is we have to put everything outside for them to do or in the house.....since it is raining.

Hannah is having a friend over today too and I told them I would take them to the splash pad. Guess I just have to stick them outside to get wet.

Got my blood work back....I guess I am border line diabetic. Last year my count was 5.9 - this one was 6.7 . It runs in my family and with the PCO thing it is in my furture I think. Not that I am not going to try to eat better , but we all know how hard that is.

Marita-- Pool parties sound fun , we usually only use the pool after we come back at night from the parks and never the main pool just the nice quiet one by our room. Yay on getting a new lap top and taking some time Friday off.

6.7 is a diabetic range ...I try to keep it under that so my doctor wont have a hissy fit...she did last time...I have diabetes and it runs in the family...but I dont want meds so I do try once in a while......HONEST..

OKEY ABOUT THE DOG ISSUE...dont get one cause I sure as heck is not going to do this again......Yesterday we had three thunderboomers in a row.....kept on going around and around.....finally at fourish I gave the dang dog a pill.....she panted and huffed and puffed and ran thru the house and tried to dig a hole in the corners to get away from it......hubby came home at five and sat on the floor with her...I went out to eat with our realtor and her husband and my daughter....went to a mexican place that is outstanding ....hubby was going to go but decided to stay home with the doggie.. our daughters husband stayed home because her dogs were nuts too..
SOOOOOOO at four am our dear dog wakes up and shoots lincoln logs all on the floor in the living room....she must of had high anxiety and the meds ...all must of had something to do with it.....so at four thirty hubby goes to the other house to get our carpet sucker upper...he comes home and washes the rug in five or so places......and then he left for work five minutes later then he usually does......so five past five he was out of here......sooooooo MY NEW RULE IS NO MORE PETS.....remind me of this ..okey people..

Tell your dear son that there is plenty of time in the future to work.....maybe he can mow lawns or shovel in a few months to earn some money that way he is still around and not tied down to a job...way to young...old is forever...

hope you all have a great day

How you changed your tone from a couple of days ago, LOL!

Just one of the reasons I dont want more pets!

Nothing to report here, finish forecast this morning, had lunch with an Intern at French Quarter, and basically sat around the rest of the day. Things better start picking up, or we'll go nuts.

morning..
Wicked overcast but we can take it...need a few days of no sun and no heat and no humidity but that wont come about.....so one out of the three is good..

Last night went to the house with hubby and he is finishing the trim work in the living room....he will go to another Bed bath and beyond in another town( on the way back from work) to get the shower curtain......we need at least a 78 inch long and around here the biggest is 72 without a special order...
The other curtain that I bought for the upstairs bathroom....geesh the first one was some how stained inside the pkg ...so I return it and get another one...bring it to the new house and geesh it is TOOOOOOO Long...what was I thinking..the window is a 24 inch one and not a 36 like this house ....the windows are not huge so will have to go over tonight and measure...but the bathroom is HUGE...with a closet for all the towels...and four cabinets under the two sinks......I love it...
Sooooo waiting for my Ava to come and then begin another day.....I am drinking my coffee and had a small breakfast.....

When do the kids in your area start school......my daughter teaches at a behavioral school and she has one more day (tomorrow) and then she is off for two weeks and then they start the regular school year....her students go five weeks during the summer vacation...keeps them more focused and on track..but public and parochial schools start in three weeks...cant believe how fast the summer has gone...

I need a vacation...its been a busy working summer but it all needs to be done..

have a good day everyone

Pumba--Your working summer will be worth it once you in your beauiful new home.

Our kids go back the day after Labour day. Sept. 6th. Summer is flying by. We are going to get our eyes checked today. So we know the kids don't need glasses or in Nicholas case his hasn't changed. I am due too so all three of us are going the same time. I teased the kids saying they will have to drive home after since they put drops in my eyes ....I hate drops, he has to surprise me or I won't keep my eye open.

Got our new garage door in yesterday and I love it, now the guy has to come on the weekend to do the capping around the wood so I have a carefree door, no painting. Maybe I will post a picture later. I know how exciting.

Old door...

New Door...

I would like to get a new outdoor light over the garage or better get get someone to come in at put one on each side of the door. Not sure why builders but one in the middle above. I would put a nice plague of our house number were the light is. But we have been saying that since we moved in 13 years ago.

Nabbie - I love the new garage door! Looks very Craftsman :) Maybe I'll lobby my hubby to get one like that when we replace ours. It is white (yellowed) fiberglass and has seen better days.

Wow, Pumba - Sounds like you're still making good progress :thumbsup2

We had a cooler day today :goodvibes Good thing, because several people from my office walked over to the farmers market on the State Capitol lawn today. Lots of fruit, veggies, baked goods, flowers, etc. I got dog treats, some blueberries, pecan pie bars (OMG, so delish!), and various veggies. I also bought two gorgeous bunches of flowers for $15 - gave one to our secretary.

Marita - Did you make it to Earl of Sandwich? Yummm.

Pumba. yay for your progress!

Nab, great new garage door, we only have a one car one, and no room for a car.......

Moo, yes, we did make it to Earl today, it was a lovely boat ride as long as the boat was moving, but as soon as it stopped, the heat was murder! Anyway, lovely lunch, and then we thought of checking out the new Lego place, but it was far over by PI, so we gave that up and went back to work.

DD is starting the drive back home on Monday. A girlfriend flew up today to drive back with her. So I will be sweating bullets all next week. Expected return date is next Friday, maybe Saturday. At least she has a new car. My son isnt too keen on losing her presence, as the puppy apparently is either throwing fits in the crate or tearing up the house when left alone. Anyone have any tips?

And, yes, I am taking another day off tomorrow!! :dance3:

Marita - Yay for making it to EOS today!

Your son really needs to persist with the crate training. Maybe have him be sure that there are some toys in the crate to alleviate boredom and something safe to chew on (rawhides aren't really safe for puppies, but there are other chew toys that should work).

Another thing that helps keep dogs occupied is a "Kong" filled with peanut butter. It keeps them occupied longer if you freeze it.

Our dogs are crated all day and that is their "safe zone". They do just fine.
