Marita - Eating low carb/high protein is what works for me. And boosting my non-caloric liquids intake . . . to at least 64 oz./day.

Go for a yummy steak instead of your fettuccine alfredo! Just eat the taco filling and not the shell. Try rolling up deli meat slices like smoked turkey with Laughing Cow cheese spread inside. Try some Greek yogurt - it's very high in protein. My hubby eats a lot of hard boiled eggs sprinkled with salt, but those don't set too well on my stomach.

Another thing I do frequently is eat a protein bar for breakfast on my way to work. Just a few suggestions that are pretty easy!!!

Nabbie - Glad to hear that Nicholas' graduation went well! Sounds like the kids had a great time :)

I am feeling better today, but I decided not to go to my friend's daughter's graduation open house. Just decided to relax at home instead. I'll put her graduation card in the mail on Monday.

Another slow day here.

I took hubby to see Cars 2 to belatedly celebrate Fathers Day. I thought it was pretty cute, but he thought there was too much Larry the Cable Guy/Tow Mater . . . We decided not to bother with the 3-D this time.

I bought a bunch of bananas thinking that they might be good to eat while I was recovering from the stomach virus, but I only ended up eating a couple and they got really ripe, so I made some banana bread tonight. It turned out pretty good!

My daughter and her boyfriend will be home Saturday evening for 4th of July week, so I need to start working on getting the house cleaned. I washed my kitchen and bathroom rugs tonight and will try to get the kitchen floor mopped tomorrow night. I don't want to vacuum and dust until later in the week. Guess I'll try to make sure I pick up a little bit every night.

Had a busy day yesterday.

Church Soccer in the afternoon , our alter servers against three other churches. We came in third. But the kids had fun.

Then Nicholas had baseball pretty well right after that out of town.

Moo-- glad you liked Cars2 not sure if we will see that one or not. There sure is a lot of toys, games etc. from this movie. Hannah wants to see Judy Moody. She has read a few of her books. Yay on Mari coming home. We actually get a true long weekend coming up because Canada Day landed on a Friday.

Marita-- how is your cold now, better I hope?

Uh, oh . . . hubby came home sick today with the stomach virus. Guess it was pretty contagious even though we didn't interact all that much. Hope no one at work comes down with it!

Nabbie - Yay for your long holiday weekend! I think I'm going to take Friday off to do my housecleaning as well as next week while Mari will be visiting.

Marita - Feeling any better?

Hi Nab and Moo,

Yes, feeling almost back up to par, thanks.

nab, maybe you won't go see Cars2, but it looks like i will, even though I dont want to. But boss put our quarterly team outing on the calendar for Friday, and the plan is for lunch and the movie (cause NOBODY wants to trot around in the heat!). Plus I heard it's 2 hours long, yuck! I might sneak out early, i don't like movies and 2 hours (+previews) sounds like entirely too long for me.

After a very busy week with budgets last week, today was dead. Didnt even feel like doing anything, not that there was much to do. Always a big letdown after the budget rush.

It's going to be a loooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnngg week!

Marita-- If it was a free movie I right there....:lmao:

Moo-- sounds like it wasn't food poisin after all. Hope you don't get it back then!

It feels funny to take only one to school this week. Nicholas is always asking where is Hannah too. She only has today and tomorrow.

She got her report card yesterday. Lots of A+ , a few A's and one B+ in dance. Great report card but she cried over that B+. He offered the kids to do an extra dance to boost the mark she choose not to and do an extra written project that she really didn't need to do but wanted to. My guess is all the kids didn't do so well in dance. So she won't be a dancer.

we close in two hours ...I am stressing......not sure why but I am..

We have had two nice days....high 80s but nice and not to humid....we have the back seat of the truck filled with things to bring to the house after we sign....paint stuff and drop cloths...cleaning stuff.....oy oy oy..

I am sad for poor Hannah......My gd was like that if she got a sniff of a B...the kids are perfectionists.....give her a hug and say .....dance is not the one that colleges will look at down the line.....its her A+'s

Hope you all have a great day......

Pumba, hope all went well with the closing.

nab,i feel bad for Hannah's disappointment, but it's not the end of the world and a b+ is still a wonderful grade.

So much for my anticipated boring day. Nope. Had to update food cost of sales with this very temperamental file. finally just got a new file from Allstar. Then we had labor target issues versus target. too much greek for you, but all to say khaki and i finally turned in our files about 20 mins before deadline, then went to count chairs around the FQ pool for some inane request from F&B line of business. Went back to the office I went home about 4:40 Khaki went to count chairs at RS, and then they sent a note we had to run some system model. All greek to you Im sure.
All this to say, instead of a boring day, it turned out to be quite intense.

I did NOT eat fettucini today, instead ate at the cafeteria and got kielbasa with potatoes. I dont think that was any better (: plus it cost almost $1more!

Marita - Sounds like you had quite a busy day yesterday! Maybe you should carry your lunch to work a couple days a week? I have been doing that pretty frequently lately. If you don't have a fridge, you can always use an insulated lunch bag with a frozen water bottle to keep things cold.

Nabbie - I'm pretty sure I had a norovirus. That can be transmitted through food handling by someone who has the virus or other contact. Hard to know how I picked it up, but I'm planning on using alcohol wipes when I go to WDW and on the cruise in January!

I've been working a bit in the evenings to get my house cleaned up before my DD and her boyfriend arrive on Saturday. I'm taking Friday off work to clean. Not feeling very motivated yet . . . I'm still feeling the effects of having been sick last week. Guess I'd better get back on my vitamins tomorrow!!!

Pumba - How'd the closing go? Hope you were able to make some progress at the house afterwards :goodvibes

sorry I didnt get back on...thought I did.
CLosing went great.....35 minutes and it was all ours...the people, lawyer for us and the title insurance and the lawyer that represented the Army Corp of Engineers.....and our realtor and the realtors rep that only was there to get the check....was great.
Our realtor went out of her way each and every day we were with her....and also to make this house ours...she is beyond fantastic..
Our neighbor came that night to the new house to get a tour and theySonia, Joe and Jacob) brought a cake with the photo of our house on the front.....it was amazing......then our son and wife and two rug rats came and then our daughter and her hubby and we all had cake ...
Hubby went yesterday and the water dept came to put our meter back in and hubby crossed his fingers when he turned it on to see if anything leaked.....Not a drop was wasted....he does have to put in two toilet flaps (or whatever they are)...cleaning is next on the agenda and painting......then windows one at a time replaced and siding next spring maybe...maybe sooner if this house GOES FAST...hahaha
I could of counted the chairs at FQ for you Marita......I loved sitting in them and sometimes they had two or three to close together.......like on top of each other almost...got friendly with your co sitters....hahaha
Marita...try the flatbread sandwich at the food courts......I thnk they were lower in carbs ...so that means less calories too.....or a tossed salad with a small bag of chips......filling yet not bad..
thanks guys for your support during the last few months.......greatly appreciated

Sleeping in this morning was great this morning but throws my day all off.

Nicholas had baseball practice this morning too.

Moo-- Don't have to worry about wipes on the cruise they hand them out to you before you go into any of the restrurants. Glad your feeling better.

Can tell it is the long weekend coming up. Everyone is out shopping, banking etc. We won't be going anywhere since hubby is working some of it. I willtake the kids to the Canada celebration in town. They love this and everything is free , crafts , music , old fashion games and carriage rides. Small fee for food but that is ok.

Have to get some of this :laundy: today since Nicholas has a baseball game tonight and needs clean pants. He has a game then have to run him to the youth group while running Hannah to a Guide event. Busy , busy , busy.

Nab, yikes, sounds like a busy day

Pumba, when do you think you'll move? you have to post some pics, im sure someone in the fam can help with that.

Uneventful day today. tomorrow I am teaching a new girl some tips and tricks, then lunch at Olive Garden, then the extremely long movie i will likely walk out of early.

DS starts his new job on Tuesday finally, yay. Scripts, which basically is like wrting scenarios for doomsday with commands to send to the troops to test their responses, and programming that all in a computer. Like writing war games. Sounds pretty cool...

HAPPY CANADA DAY!!!

Holiday here today, everything is closed up tight. Hubby is in bed sleeping and the kids and I are heading out to Canada celebrations in town and watch fireworks tonight.

Marita-- I love Olive Garden , we do not have them here anymore. I said I wasn't going to see Cars 2 and saw it the other night with Hannah while the guys saw Transformers. Nothing else for us to watch. I did not like as much as the first one, and it did feel long to me even though it really wasn't.

Pumba--Yes do post some pictures. We love sharing in your excitement!

Moo-- you must be excited that your dd is coming home tomorrow. :yay:

HAPPY CANADA DAY, NABBIE!!!

Yes, I'm very excited to have Mari coming home tomorrow, BUT I'm not enjoying the prepping! Finally got the rust stains cleaned off the shower enclosure and tub (I read on-line to try Barkeeper's Friend and that worked GREAT!), but I just can't seem to stay on task on other projects :( So I thought I'd better finish getting her room rearranged and bed made up before I start on something else.

Hubby offered to mop the kitchen floor, but he wasn't going to sweep it first so I figured I may as well just do it myself :rolleyes1

Happy Canada Day!
Sandy, where have you been? Miss you. please check in.

well, we went to Cars2 this afternoon. After previews, I lasted all of 30 minutes. I totally didnt follow the plot (some spy thing), didnt care, didnt want to be there, so I left. hope i dont get in trouble for that, but it's not like it was a particularly team bonding experience.

However, they did show an extended preview of Toy Story 3, and it was very funny. the entire theater laughed several times. Supposed to come out around Christmas. Also Muppet Movie, but that didnt impress me much.

Moo, good luck with the cleaning. I noticed my house somehow has gathered a lot of dust again. I thought I just dusted? Ughh!

The closing arguments for the Casey trial were supposed to be tomorrow but now it's sunday, which is much better. Now i can get my nails done (bleech) and go get some shopping done tomorrow (and sleep in).

Next week is another forecast. getting down to the last 3 months. But, i dont have to go in on monday, so yay! I need to get an oilchange very badly, but I bet they dont have the carwash running again, so maybe I better do that tomorrow too. My poor car is in dire need of it.

Well, I have most everything done except final cleaning of my bathroom counter/mirror, kitchen counters, and dusting/vacuuming. Phew! I should be able to get that done by tomorrow evening. I picked up some pizza for dinner earlier and am having a glass of wine and relaxing tonight :)

I'm going to take Mari to do some grocery shopping with me to make sure we have what she and David want out at the lake on Sunday. I thought about getting stuff for roast beef tacos for tomorrow night, but I think I'll wait on that until after we get back from up north because they'll probably stop for dinner before getting here. Think I'll run to the store tomorrow and have some snack items on hand.

Moo-- it is exhausting getting ready for company isn't. Still laughing over your hubby not sweeping the floor before washing it.

Marita-- I have been following the Casey Anthony case too. What a disfunctional family they are. She is so guilty, they didn't have much a defense case.

Didn't have to go anywhere for fireworks last night. They were all over the neighbourhood. We just sat outside , could see the big show that they had at the community center too. No crowd and not trying to get back home in traffic either.

Not sure what is on the agenda today. Hannah is bugging to go out shopping. Nicholas is still in bed....

Whew! I am exhausted, Nabbie, but my house is finally as clean as it's going to be!!! It sure was hot today while I was cleaning, even with the AC on. I was pretty happy to get into a cool shower after I finished all the vacuuming.

Mari and David got delayed in traffic in Virginia due to an accident earlier today, so they're not arriving until about 11:30 :( Sure hope they don't run into any thunderstorms now that it has cooled down a bit.

We went out a picked up a few things at the store to have some snacks on hand when they get here. I'm ready for a glass of wine!

Moo-- Hope they arrived safe and sound. Now you can relax and enjoy your long weekend.

Not much happening today, just going to church. I know Nicholas is not going to like getting up for it since I sent him to bed at 4:00. I got up to go to the washroom and found him still up. :sad2: I know he wants to stay up late and sleep all day but it isn't happening.

Well better go see if I can get him up.....he is going to be grumpy all day I'm sure but there will be no naps today or It will be in a furious cycle. Darn it is just like having a baby again...
