Hubby took my car in for the dreaded oil change, that was soooo nice of him and very greatly appreciated.

Back to work tomorrow. The work team is taking me out to lunch tomorrow (well, they pay for their own, but boss pays for mine) at a popular pizza place at Crossroads. Khaki is cruising in Alaska this week, so we shall see how the week unfolds.

Marita - Hope you had a nice birthday lunch!

I was feeling a bit down in the dumps today over Mari's departure and ended up going into work for only a couple hours this afternoon. It sure was nice to have over a week away from the office!!! I should be fine working a full day tomorrow

We had a heck of a thunderstorm here earlier today before I went into the office. The pups did NOT like it They were running around and barking their little heads off every time there was a loud boom!

Moo, i hope that the pups dont end up spazzing out like Megara does now...This happened about the age of 5....I read up on noise terror issues and it says that thunderstorms and fireworks scares most dogs but it can be horrible about the age of 5 ...Megara is 7 now and we finally get her into the kennel or give her a pill if we have time...the pill relaxes her enough to be calm after it is done too..

Today one of the nurses from the Assisted living home where my MIL was and where the CRMA friend of ours worked that passed away...well she is picking me up at noon and we are going to go to the funeral...Hubby wishes he could go but being out of work for almost two weeks ..he has a few meetings to go to and work to catch up on...so he wont be able to make it..

I am enjoying my morning coffee and sitting here with the fans going....its not hot enough yet to turn on the AC...they said hot and humid for today...yuck..

Not gone yet.....

We are leaving today sometime to go to my mom's to pick her up. Then we will leave first thing Wed. morning.

At least that is the plan. But last night while eatting popcorn I cracked a piece of my back molar off. Now I have to go to the dentist this morning. I guess it is better them being on the road when it happened . It doesn't bother me now other then it feels funny when I run my tongue on it, but I am sure more will go because it is a tooth that was filled so the tooth isn't too good to begin with.

Pumba-- Sorry about your friend Hope it doesn't get to hot for you today. It has been humid here for the last few days and I have a trailer to pack today.

Well better go see what the dentist has to say, home he can just do a quick fix for now.

Nothing much happening here. It's really, really slow at work. Gonna be a long week and I cant even take time off cause Khaki is cruising in Alaska and someone has to be in the office, uggh!

Sandy - I'm so glad we didn't have any damage or lose our electricity. It's too hot to deal with spoiled food and trying to sleep in the heat. Sounds like you had an interesting vacation!

Marita - I managed a full day at work today. Hopefully the rest of my week won't be too bad and yours will go well. At least I have dinner with friends Friday and Saturday evenings to look forward to

Pumba - I'm hoping our boy dog doesn't get any worse than he already is! If he does, I'm going to have to get him some doggie xanax, LOL!

Glad to hear that you were able to pay your respects today I think that really helps with closure.

I was just listening to the news and it said that Casey Anthony will go into the protection program...I WONDER WHY.???

Today is sunny and maybe wont be as hot...hope not...Yesterday the dew points were in the 70s which is high for us...

Megara was on Acepromazine or something like that...She would jump the two doors with mini blinds on them and break the stinking blinds...so we put two or three chairs in front of the back door so she wont jump it...the one in the living room we put a chair and the rocker to keep her from getting to it.....it drives me nuts...The other night though I had to lead her (and she is heavy to PUSH)..to the kennel and she tried to dig a hole in it......her anxiety level was high and is high during storms......

the memorial service was very nice yesterday...meant alot for me to go and I am glad that I did......One of her sons asked who we were and I said I was daughter in law to one of her ladies that she took care of...he asked her name and then he said....OH I asked Pat for that painting she did...and Pat said .."get over it, it isnt going to happen"...I laughed my head off...to funny..nice to know that she talked of my MIL..

Last night went to the new house and hubby painted some more and I dug up some flowers that took over ...and I mean TOOK OVER...hahaha....hopefully this weekend we get the upstairs done and we can move in some of the furniture..
I took over my pie plates, casserole dishes and my pickle and olive dishes...I needed to do this....TOday I will do some of our 30 or so coffee cups..will decide what we need and what to donate...they will get enough of our stuff ..things I havent used in years..."like hubby calls my training bras"....hahaha..

Pumba - wonder, is it exciting to get ready for the move - or does the excitement come after you've moved and are more settled! Glad you get to paint before you move - and lol at the flowers taking over!!!

Moo - Dad said the "mother board" fried - but not the computer - guess it has something to do with the electrical panel - yikes Glad it happened after we left!! how's work treating you?

Sandy, slow at work is ok as long as doesnt cut over to boring your brain out! But that was remedied today, I got drafted for a special project (which I am not too thrilled about, but I guess better than bored to death)

Pumba, moving sure is a lot of work, I dread when I have to do that, we have so much stuff around

Oh, I ordered a marketing kit for the Villages, it came today. Havent looked at it yet. Farther than I want to move (eventually), but the theme appeals to me. So we'll see.

DS is in Wyoming this week for Instructor training. I hear he isnt learning much, since his undergraduate was education... At least he can buy anothe magnet for his fridge of all the states he's been in. Quite impressive so far.

Friday we have open house for the new Magnolia Bend rooms at Riverside, Not the Royal rooms, just the regular ones.

Going to be a long week..........

Hey I posted yesterday and there are NO POSTS AT ALL THERE NOW....what gives..

Today is a pleasant day so far...YAH I know its only quarter of eight but the air is refreshing....Sunday is supposed to be hot and humid again....and we will be working at the new house....and no AC there yet...oh well....

I am waiting for ms Ava to come and we can start our day....I got a good size pool from my dil for Ava to splash around in....We gave her our three and a half deep one for her to splash with at her house for the two munchkins...they love it...and I am glad...next year we will open up the in ground pool ....not enough time to do it if we dont move in until August or so....

We will try to finish up the main floor this weekend and maybe we can move in some of the furniture...we shall see....depends on how hot Sunday is and how much we get done..

Pumba, sure sounds busy around your parts these days. Will you still have Ava once you move?

Mixed day here today, slow morning, I helped set up for an ice cream appreciation at work and hung around there for a bit, then in the afternoon I got drafted to help out on a project. At 4 I left cause the shy was black off in the corner, hoping to outrun the storm, but I only made it half way before all heck broke loose. Bad storms all over the area for hours, but I made it home ok.

Looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow.

hubby went to the house without me...I slept in...He had a big trailer full of branches and overgrowth plants to go to the dump...they have a place where they will grind it up for mulch...YES take it all.....hahaha...Like I said before the jungle was beyond out of control...

One year I listened to a class on tv on how to declutter....well my place wasnt really cluttered but I listened to this program...it said to go in one area and throw out fifteen items that you do not need or not necessary...Like paper from mail items that what the heck are they still here for...I did that once or twice a week when I had time and voila...clutter that I didnt think I had was gone...HAHAHA..

Hubby made the coffee before he left and omg it could put hair on my chest again...he likes it strong and I am a medium of the road kinda person...

I will stay behind today and maybe pack some more dishes and decide do I really want this stuff to go with us again....
Granddaugher kt and her beau will be here later and we will have her take her stuff from college over to the new place for storage until she moves again next year...she is spending this summer and next years classes at her boyfriends house....The parents are so good to her and even made her a bedroom with a feminine touch...the parents are only parents to her boyfriend and his brother....They love having her and that is fantastic...she gets to save for next year...

Ava and her mama took me for a ride to see how far the new house was from her work and it was another seven to ten minutes more....She doesnt want to lose me so she will get up EARLIER...hahaha...I would miss her if I didnt have her with me....Since six months old and she turned three a few weeks ago...

Guess I will go and put on the ac before the house gets over heated here...

HOT, lazy weekend here in my neck of the woods! I did go to a 50th birthday party last night, but other than that have just been vegging out and reading this weekend

three bedrooms are finished...the trim in the hallway too....and the walls are now done in the hallway...the primer paint is on the walls in the bathroom and kitchen and dining room and big hallway, the living room ...our granddaughter and her boyfriend did the downstairs family room, the wet room (one that comes in from the pool area) and then the laundry room too...so that is finish up work for the trim and the corners...then hubby can paint that and also the bathroom...I thought for sure we would get the upstairs done ...but the heat was to much for us ...we didnt put the ac in there because we need it here for now...

Today is already overcast and the temps will be in the low 90s with humidity and dew points that will make us sweat.....YUCK..

Megara is at the window yelling at someone..good thing the windows are closed and the ac on...

ITs impressive on how many states your son is going to Marita....Magnets are a good way to celebrate the states ...tell him to come to Maine and I will pick out a good lobster one for him...with Maine words at the bottom..hahaha..

Pumba, sounds like things are moving along swimmingly, LOL.

I had a most boring day at work today, blech! But I managed to stay till 5 somehow. Tons of people on vacation, so its very quiet around here.
Hopefully it will liven up soon, or I will go crazy!

Soon I can say ...I am a "real MOOver"...we are progressing slowly but it is happening...after he gets out of work today he will go and be into the kitchen and dining room...
Tomorrow he will take off and the furnace man is coming ...he will also put in a line for propane so I can have a gas cooking stove and a gas insert in the fireplace....I am to chicken to have a fireplace with a real fire in it...so a gas insert will be just as good...

I dont have my little munchkin today so I slept in (by accident-honest)...and now I will start some more packing...wish me luck my friends..(hopefully you are my friends).HAHAHA..

first take a meat out of the deep freeze for supper......decisions decisions...we had steak last night with a shrimp mac salad...so maybe chicken today...yah that is good enough..

Exhausted from a very boring day.............

I'm more awake with lots of work to do

yesterday got a call (hubby was at the other place) and it was hubbies cousin and her husband...they were in another town and wanted to know if they could come and see us...I said OH YAH ...love seeing them...
So called hubby and said quick they are coming.....he said what are we going to feed them...so he stops at the store on the way home and gets three steaks and lettuce tomatoes and cukes.......I had mac salad with shrimp from the day before and I put it in a smaller container and leveled it off and put paparika on the top....made it look pretty and voila instant supper for four...they werent going to stay and I said OH YES YOU ARE...
When we go to the north cemeteries they have a full five course meal ready for anyone ..anytime ...she makes ten or so pies and those are always ready to thaw out and she is outstanding cook.......so my steak and salad and mac salad were good but no desserts....hahaha

Hubby is at the house today with the furnace man...hope it comes out okey...we never turned it on yet and we will have HOT WATER MAYBE TODAY...

Pumba, you certainly are busy these days, but how exciting!
I had some exciting news today too, one at work, the other was that hubby told me to start shopping for a new car to be bought in 3-4 months. I thought he was still paying his off, but he said he paid extra each month and paid it off in March. So, let the shopping begin..........

And now hubby has another bee in his bonnet, now he wants to remodel the kitchen. I really dont want to live here all that much longer, and I dont think it's worth it with house prices being down in the dumps as they are, so I need to talk him out of that. Maybe new countertops, that's it!
