No hardwood, just tile and carpet. Someone from our old church saw my FB post and offered us these cool super carpet fans. A friend of mine brought them out today to our park date. Hopefully everything dries out fine.

Nabbie - Glad to hear that Nicholas seems to be feeling a little better

Marita - Yay for Friday and it's good that your forecast is over :woohoo:

I smashed my big toe at work today. I was moving stuff on top of a cabinet and didn't realize that one of the items was an iron slag core (a heavy, round hunk of metal) and it rolled off the cabinet and fell on my foot. I was wearing Birkenstock-style sandals (with socks) and it lacerated my toe right under my toenail and was bleeding pretty good. I went to Urgent Care and had it checked out. It's not broken, but I had to soak it in Betadine solution to get the temporary bandage off. Got a tetanus shot, some antibiotics, and Vicodin . . . The PA confirmed that I'll lose the toenail at some point, but he decided not to remove it. Since it happened at work, it has to go through Worker's Comp. I can hardly wait to fill out all the paperwork on Monday :headache:

Grrrrrr. At least it's not throbbing at the moment.

OUch Moo! Hope you don't accidently hit when you sleeping.

Went back to the doctors today with Nicholas, they said since the pain went from an 8 maybe to a 5 we have to ride it out. Our family doctor thinks it is something to do with his small intestine but just as long as he doesn't get a fever or the pain worsens he should get better. That's good to hear but Nicholas just wants it to go way now , can't blame him. He is not happy about staying on the bland diet either for another day or two.

Mommy P-- glad you got some big fans. It would take a long time with just normal ones. Hope you don't have mold problems now.

WOW, Moo, that sound painful!! Hope it wont hurt too bad. Maybe you can get some home commuting time out of it???

Nab, our GM here does expect us to pick up trash on official walks (with nametags). She gives us each a personalized picker for this. Not all GM's require that, but in general, all Disney CM's are expected to pick up trash if they see any. As we are told, we are all Custodians.

Nab, glad Nicholas is feeling better.

Got some good news from DS today. He got his evaluation and was ranked #1 of 25, so that pretty much should guarantee him a promotion to Captain next year. He'll find out in July. Timing is really convoluted, dont ask, but has to do with scheduling training and stuff.
He said everyone there is sweating the Govt. shutdown. The commissary had a fire sale to get rid of the perishables. The military folks still have to work without pay. Hope this gets settles quickly.

I'm working on fixing some stuff that Khaki did. She is generally very good, but sometimes she charges ahead without really knowing what she is doing. As my boss said, his daughter leads the way without knowing where she is going, Khaki is much the same way...:confused3

Tomorrow I need to go with hubby to look at towel racks and such for the bathroom remodel. I had second thoughts about the floor tile color (medium tannish), but he already bought it, so I guess that's it.

Oh, and I have to do the taxes this weekend, JOY!!!!!!!!!!!!! We always have to pay, so I wasn't in any hurry.

Had breakfast for lunch today, figured I'd skip the fettucine and got a made to order omelette at the food court. Well, that was a bust. Portion was fairly small, the potatoes were half burnt, and it cost $2 more than the per meal cost for the fettucine. I guess at least I saved a few(?) calories, but back to the drawing board.

I rebandaged my toe so there is less pressure on it - not feeling too bad right now. But I am also applying wine internally rather than taking the Vicodin ;)

So far the tetanus shot isn't hurting either. Hope it stays that way.

Thanks for the sympathy! I'm just really not used to having owies like this

Nabbie - I may have to rig my comforter so I can stick my foot out from under the covers tonight

Moo Moo , try to keep the foot up too.....I remember being five feet away from a person but to my brain they were to close and my foot and brain said PAIN...My daughter burnt her toes last month and the blister was as big as her toe.....so she had to wear crocs or her big birks with snow protection.(hahaha) for quite a while.....Hope that your toe toe heals fast..

Speaking of Mold.....that house that I could hardly wait to see (yes another one) was so great inside the main house...big kitchen and an area for my table..alot of stuff that makes the place looks small but without it ..it would of been fine......well the mold and water in the "extremely" clean cellar...made our realtor say.......NO....dont this is mold.....so we didnt...made my heart break to see a place that would of it the bill everywhere except for that dang cellar....big big sigh.....she is waiting for a disclosure on another place for us to look at.....Just on the mkt and has a "home warranty" for one year on major stuff and needs some tlc inside.....it is a split foyer ...I like that idea I guess...I am sort of feeling like ....blahhhh...

three weeks and the Mouses house will be ours...(fingers crossed always)...

Moo your going to feel that tetanus shot today! Always the next day, it will feel like someone punched you in the arm. Hope you sleep well and the toe didnt' keep you up all night.

Pumba-- there got to be a house out there for you. But your realtor is right stay away from the mold. And when you find you dream home always get an inspection done , lots of things you can't see by just wandering around.

The sun is shining here and suppose to get into double digits. That is good when you are talking Celsuis.

Off to do some of this.....:laundy:

Pumba and Nabbie - I kept my foot elevated last night and got lots of sleep! I think putting ice on my toe right away helped too.

Not feeling too bad today, thank goodness! So far my arm where I got poked isn't hurting either :goodvibes

We've got sunshine here today too but it's still chilly out there.

I got my ten year (last one was 2000,) tetanus shot this past January and that one hurt......the one I got ten years ago didnt.....I think it was the giver of the shot that did me in.......she hurts when she takes my blood too......all these years of having blood tests and no one ever hurt me ....oh I feel the little prick but not a OMG boo boo.....well this lady does.......I will ask for my blood tests to be at the hospital from now on....Black and blue for two days after the last ones.....

we had burgers on the grill and I made mac and shrimp salad......delicious..I love good weather.......had the windows open all day and it was great...

Hope you all have a great night

Hmmm, they told me every 5 years for tetanus and I also thought it was 10 years, Pumba! Oh, well - guess I am protected now, LOL! And it's not hurting.

My toe has been weeping a little, but not hurting, so I'm a happy camper :)

Nice, relaxing day today. It is forecasted to get up to 80 tomorrow, but I'll believe it if I see it!!!

I think that if you have been five years or more but less then the ten and you injure ourself.....then they do it as a precaution.....which I would be glad that they do .....Now they do something else with it.......I cant remember what it was so I googled it.....I LOVE GOOGLE..
n 2005, two new vaccine products were licensed for use in adolescents and adults that combine the tetanus and diphtheria toxoids with acellular pertussis ..
so we are now blessed with it all.....

Marita....I meant to put in my last post about how awesome it is for your son.....always a great thing to read about his accomplishments......way to go!!!

sun is out and hubby made our traditional Sunday breakfast......turkey bacon, eggs and toast and coffee......we are happy ...

have a good day everyone

Yes, kudos to Marita's son! I was glad to see the federal government shutdown was averted because I work with a lot of great EPA staff. And it would have messed up the schedule on one of our projects.

I am definitely feeling that tetanus shot today. Had a tough time curling my hair!!!

We are having a gorgeous, warm day. Guess I'd better get out there and enjoy the sunshine :)

Hi gang. Just wanted to pop in here and tell you guys that my grandma got to come home from the hospital! The doctors thought this was the end of the line for her, but she bounced back and is doing pretty well.

Thank you so much for the good thoughts and prayers. I really appreciate them.

Babynurse-- That is good news about your grandma.

Moo-- How is your toe today? I told you your arm was going to hurt the next day.

We have been having great weather, nice and warm. Night looks like a storm is brewing though.

I woke up with a dang woos of a dog.....quarter of six this morning....thunder boomer ...she started jumping the side door and the back door and hubby just replaced the blinds again.......YES AGAIN......so I went into the cellar and got her kennel and put it in the dump and run room.......and I dumped her into it ....she calmed down better in there then she does even if I sit down and hold onto her.....then we had off and on boomers until eleven or so this morning..

Ava hasnt heard them before or she forgot ....but she said what is that noise....I said just some rumbling.....hahaha

bn I am glad that your gramma is feeling better.....it is power of the moovers and the prayers....

Moo how is your toe toes today......Hope they feel better...

see ya later cause I am on my way to bed..

night

bbn - Thanks for the update! Glad your gram is doing better

My toe is feeling better today and so is my arm. I got all the dang accident paperwork filled out today at work :thumbsup2 My toe seems to be healing pretty quickly, thank goodness. I'm going to leave the bandage off while I sleep tonight to see if it'll harden up a little after having all that antibiotic ointment on it.

My hubby is going to be away for some training for a couple days. It'll be nice to have the house (and the TV) to myself for a bit! Fingers crossed that nothing goes kerflooey with the house or cars while he's away!!!

The nice weather yesterday was a record-breaker but it was back to normal temps today. We drove to the store with the convertible top down :)

BBN, yay for your grandma!!

Moo, glad the toe is better.

Pumba, Khaki had dog problems too yesterday, with nasty presents all over the floors...

Well, we finally made it to Earl of Sandwich on the boat today! (Only took 5 or 6 months) It was very good as always. Unfortunately, I countered my lack of fettucini by picking up some fudge from Goofy's.:sad2: My diet isnt going anywhere....

Finally did my taxes today. Have to pay as expected, but not as bad as expected. Still, $554, OUCH!!

Tomorrow is team outing to F&G festival, and lunch is planned for the new pizza place there. I looked at the menu today and about fainted at the prices! We'll see what the group decides tomorrow. One thing I know for sure know, I'm not going to last for 3 hours walking Epcot in this heat!

Time for the second half of my sandwich now....

Glad you finally made it to EOS, Marita!

I took a look at the Via Napoli menu thinking "how bad could it be?" It does look pretty pricey if you get your own pizza or entree, but (unless you really want leftovers) just find someone to share with and that'll make it much more reasonable! Or maybe just get some soup or an appetizer. I love wood-fired pizza though - my cousin has it at his restaurant. Yummm!

morning.
I LOVE EoS........Hubby says we need to go there a few times on our trip....I told him we go there and then we GO SHOPPING....hahaha..I love to shop in DTD...of course after sandwich and shopping I could always use an ice cream sundae at Giradellas....or however you spell it.....YUMMY..

Yesterday was very very warm here......I mean NICE ...when temps get in the 60s and we still have snow on the ground in areas.....IT IS NICE...

I wanted to sleep in this morning but woke up before the alarm as usual...but I could of slept if I could of..

I will get some check offs on my list today and see what I have and dont have...I got my test strips for my bs testing...so that is done and probably will have to get two of the five perscriptions filled.........I did one last week (90) days and then one last night too....Then count clothes......cause I dont want to wash any skivvies if I dont have to....I think hubby said I have enough for a LONG LONG TIME......he kids me on that issue.....but then I said you put letters and symbols on the bottom of your socks......so go figure...(he feels that if one gets a almost hole then the other one will too and he tosses the sets OUT........

see you later gators

Pumba-- I hear you on wanted to wash on vacation. I am in charge of the wash so if one sock has a hole I throw that one out and safe the other knowing there will be another one with a hole soon. Then I have a pair again. Also don't get the same socks for hubby and Nicholas so I know who's is whos. Hubby said his mother used to sew a spot on their socks so she knew between his brother, dad and him. That is too much work.

Moo-- glad your feeling better.

Marita-- I love how you get out and about at work. I would like that part of your job but could not do the account part.

I just came back from the school. They had there monthly school mass. The kids came home yesterday and said a grade three student got her finger cut off. I told them maybe she just got a bad cut or pinched. She was playing at the gate they have so cars can not go on the play ground. Well asked one of the teachers today what happened and she did indeed lose her whole finger. She put her finger in a hole in the gate at the same time another kids swing on the gate¨(gate is chained). So if you could keep this little Alice in your prayers, can not imagine what the family is going though.
