Pumba, I promise to make your crab mousse this year.

I've been under the weather still, and my feet still hurt to walk ever since I got off the plane. My heels hurt to step on and it pulls up to my ankles, and they are swollen, and my gland under 1 cheek is swollen. I'm just falling apart! If the walking doesn't get better soon, I'll have to go see the dr., I walk like an old woman!

The new coworker in the office started, lots of training to be done!

DS called tonight, it finally started snowing hard out in Montana. Poor guys and girls are stuck underground with the missiles way out in the boonies for 48 hours cause they can't get out of there with the weather. DS works in the office now, lucky guy (except twice a month), and he has to rework all the schedules, cause the people stuck out there an extra day now can't work as originally scheduled, so he is having lots of fun reworking that, especially with the holidays coming up and alll the vacation requests.

I can't wait for the cruise and to get out of here!!!

Why not go to the doctors now and just get better faster this way. He may be able to give you something to make you feel like a new woman....Like our Marita..

Marita -- I 'm with Pumba go to the doctors. I have never heard of a gland swelling a cheek before. Is that sinus problems maybe. If it swelled that much maybe you have an infection and need drugs to fix it and feel better.

It sure is a windy day here! Only about 48 degrees out there too but aleast we don't have any snow. Rainy though.

Was out looking for Christmas presents. Not much luck.

Hello friends!

How are you feeling, Marita? I hope you're on the mend!

Moo, your tree is up already?!?! I'm impressed! My DH frowns on Christmas prep prior to Thanksgiving. Bah. So Natasha and I have plans on decking the halls the day after Turkey Day!

Pumba, I have a beautiful crocheted tablecloth that my grandma made. Is yours a pineapple motif? That's what mine is, and I love it! It means so much to be able to use that tablecloth on my table at the holidays.


NAB, the wind and rain are pestering us around here too. There are soggy leaves everywhere on the ground, and the poor trees are naked! My floors need a good scrubbing too. I've been putting it off in the hopes that the rain will subside. No sense washing them if it's pouring rain and muddy outside, right?

Yesterday, DH was working and fell because of a patch of soggy leaves on the ground. The weight of his body fell squarely on his right ankle, and it's pretty badly sprained. The doctor x-rayed it and gave him an air cast and crutches, and now he'll be on "light duty" for the next week or so. He'll also have to go to physical therapy for the next several days. All this on his birthday, no less.


Oh, Moo (and Mony)! Before I forget...I can't get my Lexulous games to load over thar. The page loads everything but the board itself. I'll keep trying, but I didn't want y'all to think I'm ignoring our games!

Morning everyone..

Sun is out and it is so bright I had to close the blinds on the right side of the windows....I mean who can read your stuff if Its brighter then looking straight at the sun.

Hubby has the rest of this week off and then all of next week.....he will be either hunting or fixing up the second floor (on going project)...rug has to be laid in the front bedroom, chimney has to be fixed on the inside of the living room area......the small room has to have carpet laid and then the awful kitchen...new cabinets and floor has to be laid..

Just saw on the today show.....food courts in the outside world.(not our disney) are the worst places to eat......Fanueil Hall in Boston Japan guy had cockroaches and mouse droppings..some of the other places the hot food is not hot enough to keep the bacteria out and the cold foods are to warm...GROSS....ecoli poisoning on a stick.

Lynette - It is a major fluke for us to have our tree up. It's mainly because I did some major surgery on it on Sunday! Normally, we wait until the week before Christmas, or right before DD arrives home, LOL! Hope your hubby mends quickly You're up again over yonder

Marita - w00t on your upcoming cruise!!! Hope you're feeling better. A couple of my cousins just headed down to my cousin Gail's house (you met her when we had lunch at Le Cellier) for Thanksgiving today. Sure wish I could have joined them.

Nabbie - It is chilly here in Michigan now! Goog thing you visited while it was still kind of nice

I still feel like crap and can't walk. I'll call and make an appt. tomorrow.
Today we went to look at a new rehab room at French Quarter, looks really nice. Queen Beds! and flatscreen TV and all new bath fixtures and tiles.
TOmorrow is a year-end celebration at Fort WIlderness, that will involve some walking down to the BBQ area, not sure im up to it, we'll see.

Not sure what we are doing for Thanksgiving this year, no invitation yet, with some family dynamics, im not sure one is coming, so I may end up cooking at home this year, yuck! Not looking forward to that at all.

Marita, sweetie - it's pretty normal to be down in the dumps after losing a close family member Hang in there! Hopefully, being on the cruise and spending time with your son will perk you up

Are you taking some vitamins? Seriously, if you're not taking any, I think they'll help a bunch! Sorry if I'm sounding like a broken record, but you know how reformed people become crusaders sometimes? My coworkers and friends are getting kind of tired of me hyping kettlebells and vitamins, LOL!!! But they have to admit that I'm a changed woman, partly because of both of those things.

some of our grocery stores in maine have a buy the whole dinner cooked....you bring it home and it warms up in two hours.....look into that ....that way you have the bird but dont have to do much ...
Hope you are doing okey today....I am glad that you are calling the doctor.....

the sun is out again ..and no winds I think....the dog didnt get blown out of the back yard today.....

I still love the perks of your job. I have never been to the French Quarter on Riverside. What are the colours over there in the rooms?

Moo-- preach all you want. You deserve it. You look fabulous. Most people ask what you did when you lose weight anyway, your just telling them.

Pumba-- It is cold here this morning dipped under 0 and Nicholas still will not put a coat on. I at least got him to put a hoodie on. I have given up this battle , if he freezes that is his problem, just hate being the mom people talk about behind there backs saying didn't his mother see him leave the house this morning....his friend is still wearing shorts and freezing you can tell but oh he is such a cool dude...literally.

Wouldn't you know the dress I exchanged yesterday for a different size for Hannah came on sale today. Now I have to go back to the store and get some money back. It was on sale but not the sale is bigger. Got to love Christmas shopping.

I know a few kiddos in this neighborhood that still go to school in shorts and hoodies too....I told that KID that he is being stupid for freezing just to be cool.....he is ten.
Ava is being a poop today ....has to be the full moon.....she wants to change her skivvies....she likes pooh one minute and then dora the explorer undies the next.......geesh.....she is going to be a diva for sure...

Hubby will come out of the woods at noon and then he can lift that sucker out of the freezer.......My back is killing me and I dont want to lift it again....

Last night just laid on the couch and watched reruns of Criminal Minds.....gives me the creeps......had to make sure the locks were on the doors........hahaha.

tomorrow dil and kiddos and I will go to another city and scan the shopping areas......and then out to eat..I LOVE THAT PART..

back to that pt. [ from before], he went home happy. ok!

this killed me. things this simple should never be missed. i don't know
how many times i preached, ....first rule of doing psych does not change
whether you are a doctor/nurse or whatever......any sudden changes
in behavior , indicate a medical problem. & the more significant of the
change....increased- the odds even more.

(was talking over another theory with our call doctor. & he really think
it would be a great research project. [ you see, even though i already
know my observation is 100% accurate,~~~ you need proof, more
than your "own" observations. .]--reminder, i most often
rely on old~fashioned common sense. )


dick & jane stories,

things in general are not so great. so many get discourage in
life . but in reality, & in most situations , there are a "great" many
solutions if we just apply our ability to "think & do." what we see,
when the majority living a rotten, miserable life, is from their own doing.
even further along improving one's lot? be willing and listen to
what your current needs are....so you can chose those over your
wants. not very hard, eh?


hospitals? protecting our health care for those that do not
have medical backgrounds. md's need better regulations to
put a limit on their greed & drugs. the second part, are administrators
that are ruining their facilities, even to provide standard care.
why? well, locally they are getting rid of any senior/experienced
nurses. so what they are left with? the blind leading the
blind. patients will die/suffer from this action. period. sooner or
later, they will get sued & those few dollars they saved will
be gone in a second. worst, they cannot restore the health
that they "took" away. again, remember the co-worker that
died last year. what a shame on the hospital! whoever, heard
bleeding to death in....an icu unit. where's our govern't?!

you have been warned! make sure if you need a hospital services,
to put them on notice, so they do you or your family no harm.


pumba? guess who wander onto our land? a pretty big buck! why-
, mentioned that?...because he was raised/tame..
he 'll comes up to us wanting us to "pet" him....even posing
for pictures. he never had freedom before & it shows.
whatever reason, he adopted our range. you can tell...he
...there. [ but wait till he meets our other big bucks-

anyhoo, i told those hunting not to shoot him..he doesn't understand
hunters, , we trying to scare him back to reality before
he wanders off....[ when i was taking pictures of him, i noticed
his ear has a yellow tag...so he must have escaped. oh , he's
pretty big boy! 190 lbs-er., with a wide, wide rack. he makes us
nervous when he comes up wanting to petting.....if his intincts
kicked in...we're doom.] however, this is why, deer should never
be tamed....it just isn't right.

moo? how bout spartie? hanging tough! while i root for osu, but also
the whole league. i really like what sports does to support the schools
and make kids want to learn. also what it gives to the players & families.
the scores are actually the smallest value when one loks @ the
whole picture. as for dvc, as you can imagined, i rely on a common
sense approach in doing problem solving. some of these observations
are very interesting. do you know how many working as guides &
sales are also owners. & some of the abuses, are pretty self-[guides/
sales] evident. fyi, i prefer respect over popularity.

It's raining....better then snow that is for sure. Mild too. Love it for Nov.

My sister is in Las Vegas and said it was 48 yesterday morning. I thought it would have been hot there.

Hubby is off this week so we are trying to get our Christmas shopping done. Really want him to help me get the Christmas stuff out too.

Took Hannah to see Santa after the parade. She was funny I asked her what she asked for. Hannah said she choked and couldn't think of anything so she said slippers. I heard him say to her you sure you don't want a game or something else, she said no just the slippers.

Marita how are you feeling....I hope you are better so you can cruise and then tell us all about it.

Hubby has all this week off too and he is hunting.. Found my turkey leaking down the other shelves so I had to clean that up.......it is cold in there but the three days in there ...it is doing good....should all be thawed out by Thursday....I love to make my stuffing too........My memere would make the turkey and stuff it with the meat stuffing and I loved that too....On year I made meat stuffing with a deer roast.....My very English MIL didnt know what to make of it......but I also had a smaller turkey and stuffed it with traditional bread stuffing......Delicious either way.

I hope that my niece makes the meat pies this year for our Christmas family party....I love it.

I think the stuffing is my favourite part....my mom makes the best bread stuffing and there isn't really to much too it but I still never get it right.

Marita-- hope your are feeling better too! Where does your cruise go? What port do you leave from?

Nabbie - It's very mild here, too. 60ish! The warm weather must have addled Hannah's brain when she saw Santa, LOL! We're heading to NC Wednesday morning. Can't wait I should probably get started on my packing. Guess I'd better throw in some more wash during the next commercial.

Marita - I second Pumba's wishes regarding your cruise!

Pumba - We like boring old Stovetop stuffing with our turkey. I can still make my family's stuffing, but Stovetop is SO much easier.

Lil G - Those Spartans are 10-1. Who would've thunk it?!

Can't believe how warm it is out this morning! Suppose to get colder by this afternoon and keep dropping though.

Poor Hannah was loaded down today because of the Christmas food drive. She loves raiding my pantry but cans or even the pasta weights a ton.

Moo-- I usually only use Stove top too. I'm all for easy.

Marita-- are you feeling better yet?

Pumba-- shouldn't your hubby be home making his big pies instead of hunting. Is Thanksgiving at your house this year?

I am easy too......I get two loaves of bread, break that up in little pieces......a couple of eggies, poultry seasoning....warm water so I dont freeze my fingers and start to mush....add chopped up onions and away it goes....I use my nose to sniff if enough seasoning is in it......then I stuff the sucker...

Yup Turkey day is here at our house....Hubby will make the big pie tomorrow after he gets home from hunting.....he will do the pie crust first and then let it cool off..then I found an easier way to do the jello chocolate pudding cook and serve type.......six boxes of that and eleven cups of milk....I do half of it in the microwave in my casserole dish and this is way easier then waiting for the stuff to boil on the stove and sometimies scorch it.....then I will do the second half as soon as that one is in the pie ...works well....

Hope you all have a great day today.......it rained AGAIN a few minutes ago.....can you tell I hate RAIN.....but Nabbie you are right......its not snow or ice and we dont have to move it....
