Hi Moovers! I keep meaning to get over here and check in, but things here have been all out of sorts. Three days after we got back from WDW, we had to put our cat down. We realized almost immediately when we got home that she wasn't eating, and she had lost a lot of weight. She was listless and weak, and acting very confused. We talked to the vet and decided that it was time to put her down. She was nearly 19 years old --as old as my two kids put together! It was so sad for the kids, since they've had her their whole lives. Also, it was really their first experience with death....until this week. Unfortunately, DH's nana died this past Tuesday. :sad2: She was 86, and had lived in a nursing home for the past several years. She had Parkinson's disease, and recently it was getting much worse. We saw her at a family party on Memorial Day weekend, and she knew me but didn't recognize DH. :sad2:

She was such a sweet and wonderful lady! For her sake, I'm glad she's at peace now. But DH's family will miss her so! The wake is tomorrow evening and the funeral is Monday. July is a tough month for me anyway, since it's the anniversary of my dad's death. All this sadness made it that much more emotional this year. :sad1:

But I've been trying to keep the vacation vibe alive for the kids by concentrating on getting our photos printed and starting on our scrapbooks. They've got approximately one month left of summer vacation, and I'm determined to make the best of it!

I read back. In no particular order:

Marita, YAY for trying to quit smoking! Keep at it, you can do it! Also, I hope you're able to find a reasonable airfare and see your mom.

Moo, good to see that you're still riding your bike. Gotta take advantage of the good weather while we can, right?

NAB, I'd love to see the Grand Canyon! Sounds like you and the family are having a great time. Several of my IRL friends have said the same thing about DL vs WDW. I think I'd like to see it at least once though.

Pumba, sorry about your FL property. But I'm with Mony....betcha something better is waiting for you down the line.

Mony, how's your trip planning coming along? popcorn::

BBN, waiting for pics. Git crack-a-lackin!

Hi Lynt, glad you posted. Sure has been slow around these parts lately.

Quitting smoking is hard, I fight a battle every day.
DS is coming end of November, we have a cruise in sight to a private island near Haiti on Royal Carribean. I has rock-climbing, casino, water park stuff (i think), boxing rink, bunch of stuff, about the only think I might do is the mini-golf........

Mom got out of the hospital today, she's back at the home, so i will call her tomorrow

DD went to a birthday party that started at 11! Whats up with that? 11 used to be curfew time (well, she IS 25, but still, STARTING at 11?)

sorry I have been missing AGAIN in action....Megara had an inflammation of her disc that she ruptured a few years back.....so she is on a pain relief with a non steroid med......she is doing much better.....back to piss and vinegar...
We also have been getting the carpets and furniture void of dog hair and the carpet from stains that somehow develop over night.....next saturday is the party at our house.....only 36 replied but always will be ready for more people.....hey I will just eat the rest of the food....RIGHT???

Hubby went out and picked more tomatoes and cukes.......I love a good cuke..smells so good and I love it......

Marita...I am wicked proud of your already accomplishment of quitting the evil cigarette......it is evil and the hardest thing we can do.......giving up a very habit forming addiction......I keep saying this to myself........even after 23 years...

I havent figured out what to have for supper.....someone give me a suggestion...

NAB sounds like you are having an awesome time.....has the earth moved under your feet yet????

Lil G....glad to see you once in a while......and all the rest of you ...HEY!!!

Back from a wonderful time up at the cottage. My sister and her family went with us and we just had a great time.

Just a quick check-in, glad to see all is well.

Sorry about the pet issues, I know how hard it is to have to put a pet down.

Speaking of pet issues, 17 yr old dog decided today that just standing in the middle of the living room is a great place to pee! No warning, no barking wanting to go outside, nothing! Just stand and pee, not even lift a leg!!!!!!!!!!!!! :headache:

Looks like I will be going on a cruise in November of this huge ship with a mall in the middle. DS is comeing home anyway in November, so its all good

No my feet haven't been shaking , only on a ride at Universal. Didnt' like this park either. It was really packed. Waits on rides were over 75 minutes. Crazy. We took a bus tour to get to the park. My hubby was so frustrated with the crowds that he and Nicholas went to a movie on the City Walk instead of being in the park. I did like the back lot tour and King Kong 3D that went with it. That alone took an hour to wait and an hour on the ride/tour. Wish I would have know Toby Keith and Trace Atkins were in concert that night. Lots of cowboy hats and boots going in while we were coming out for the bus.

We are now in San Francisco. Left Anaheim this morning. Wanted to see Alcatraz but they are booked up for two weeks out. Hubby was going to book before we left home and they told us we didn't need too and since we didn't know for sure we were going....another miss. But tomorrow we are doing a tour around town including a tolley ride up the hills that should be fun if I don't fall off...:lmao

Marita -- hang in there with the smoking....you can do it!!

Off to take Hannah swimming ....

Wow I get to follow myself....

Just got back from our San Francisco tour. I really loved it. The big hills that you see in movies are really big. They look like your dropping off a cliff at times. We saw the Mrs. Doubtfire house from the movie. Robin Williams lives here and does a lot of movies here. The tolley ride was so much fun. My hubby was hanging on the front pole just like in the movies...:lmao:

The Golden Gate Bridge was very big but we couldn't see the top of it since it was very foggy all day. It was only 77 here. They said they are having a cold summer. We walked on the bridge the kids thought that was cool.

Now I must go get them supper. This time change is crazy.....

NAB - Sounds like a lovely trip, even with the lines. Cool summer, well I can send them some heat! :lmao:

Moo and Mony - DS got back and said he really liked Michigan! :goodvibes The church they helped was in Auburn Hills. They found out when they got up there that it was against the law to "door knock". :confused3 The kids were disappointed because that is part of the fun to them, but something must have worked because they had a full house by the end of the week. From all reports I heard they did a fabulous job with their VBS! :thumbsup2

Marita & Pumba - Sorry about your pet woes.

Lynt - for losing your beloved furry family member.

Ok, tomorrow is my first "workday"! :scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1: It's like I am going to school for the first time again. What am I talking about, I AM going to a new school again. :rotfl: Our kids start next Monday. I am excited and a little skeeered.

Nab, sorry Universal was another dispappointment :(

I would love to visti SF myself.

Allie, I am sure you will do great in school. Your pictures over yonder look great! Lot's of fun.

Luckily, the dog has seemed to get his self control back and is NOT peeing willy-nilly over the floor anymore (for now)

Swallowed my post again!!!!!!!!!!!

nab, sorry you had a bad trip to Universal,
I'd love to visit SF!

Luckily the dog quit peeing on the spot and decided to go outside again, whew!!

Mony, your pics over yonder look great , lots of fun

Got an email from a forer associate today to go out for lunch soon, from like 6 years ago, so that should be fun.

Yet another forecast week this week, so late nights ahead

Aurburn Hills is a very pretty area. That's where The Palace is, home of the Detroit Pistons. I used to work alot of concerts there too. Nice to hear someone actually liked Michigan. Good luck on your fist day:goodvibes

Let me just say that I cannot wait to get this class over with!!! Today is the last exam. I am so disappointed in this class. Class average is a 64%. She will not curve. I have a 73. Not typical of me at all. All I want to do is pass this dang class so I can move on to level 2. I have College of Ed orientation on Thursday. It brings down my GPA, but at this point, I just have to move on.

Have a great day!

Hey three posts in a row from ME!!!!!

I update my TR, its in the true spirit of ME!!!:dance3:

I'm so giddy my semester is over. Remind me of this when my new semester starts!:rotfl:

Ok, jokes over, you can all come out now.

I was able to get the dinning reservation I've been trying so hard to get this morning!!!!!

Oh, and I'm trying to convince Nebo to do a TR. He just came back from another trip.

:lmao::lmao::lmao:

Jeez, Mony, stop hogging the thread. :rolleyes1

I have nothing to contribute other than a hearty hello to y'all. I just decided I'd post so that Monica doesn't develop some sort of paranoia. ;)

Carry on!

Mony, yay for getting your class over with and going into vacation mode:thumbsup2

Lynt, thanks for coming to Mony's rescue. This thread might in throws of death judging by activity lately.

Worked late yesterday, but hopefully that is over with for another couple of weeks.

DS is coming home at the end of November for 2 weeks. We are talking about going on a cruise, either just him or me or the entire family, but DD doesnt know if she can get the time off yet, so it's all still open.
ANyway, if we go it will be in the big RC ship that has a shopping mall, an ice rink, a mini-golf course, a casino, a rock-climbing wall and a surfing thingy on it, plus a bunch of restaurants, clubs and lounges. It's a 4 night cruise, but it only goes to a private island near Haiti.
I'm not likely to do any sports activities other than mini-golf, LOL. Anyway, nothing is decided yet, so we shall see.

stopping smoking is supposed to eat more, but i'm eating less it seems, except pretzel sticks and spending the same on nicortte mints. So far no money saved! But I guess it's better for me and I smell better...

I guess we permanently lost Cel and PJ :confused3

Moo, Pumba? Where are you?

Nab, hope you are having fun!

Yeah for your it being over Mony!!!!:cool1:

We have been out and about. Went to the Jelly Belly Factory today at one Jelly Belly Lane in Santa Rosa. Went though the Napa valley and saw grape vines as far as the eye can see. Not big wine drinkers but thought of Marita. :lmao:

Nicholas got picked out of our tour to eat a disgusting jelly belly bean. One boy go snot flavour and Nicolas got barf. You should have seen there faces. :lmao: We couldn't take a picture because no cameras allowed on tour. It was also mascot day and Hannah was in her glory, Hello Kitty, Build a Bear, Chuck E Cheese, Mr Pickle , two different cows, a duck, Red Robin and a few more I have no idea where they came from. All with coupons for there stores and restrurant. We ate at the cafe were everything including the hamburgers were in the shape of a jelly bean. Got to try three free sample out of 150 flavours. The newest one being honey. They have pop with some of the flavours too. I bought the ice cream flavours, which include chocolate devotion, strawberry blondie, Birthday cake, Mint chocolate chip, and apple pie a al mode.

Now one is off swimming again and one is on a hayride around the campsite.

It has been pretty cool and foggy in the morning. Only 52 F this morning but warms up, think it is around 80 right now. My sister tells me they are hot there and high humidity. And we thought we would melt. :rotfl2:

Sorry I've been MIA - just enjoying the summer, I guess! I haven't really been posting over on FB either, mostly just reading these days and commenting or "liking" once in a while . . . AND playing Lexulous with Lynette

Nabbie - Sounds like you're having a nice trip! So glad to hear that. I visited the Jelly Belly factory in Wisconsin last fall and it was fun trying the different flavors, but the one you went to sounds a LOT bigger!

Mony - Yay for being done with school for now!!! Your trip is coming right up :cool1: I don't have any Disney trips planned, but I'm looking forward to my girls trip to Old Mission Peninsula/Leelanau and doing some wine touring next week.

Marita - My daughter will be visiting sometime next month :dance3: I'm sure your daughter is appreciating your stopping smoking. Glad to hear you're hanging in there. It's nice that you have a cruise with your son to look forward to!!!

Lynette - Sorry to hear about your cat and your hubby's nana  Have fun with your vacation scrapbooking! I'm sure your kids will enjoy the end result :)

Allie - Glad your son enjoyed visiting Michigan! Auburn Hills is quite a ways from my neck of the woods, but I have been to the Palace for a concert. Hope you're enjoying your new job :thumbsup2
