oh, 2 girls with fever, and I am developing a cough. Nice......

some how there is alot of the summer crud going around.......fevers and coughs and sore throats and laryngitis......oh well.....happens every August before and during the kids first few weeks back to school...

Ava is talking on her phone and reading the book to her babies......she multi tasked wicked good...

Tonight Granddaughter and her beau are coming for dinner ..so Mac and cheese requested (again) and homemade blueberry pie.....yummy......and cukes and tomatoes from the garden....

Pumba: Sounds yummy!

My prof posted my final grade and grade for the semester. I was pulling for a C, and got a C+. My final exam I was pulling for a 75, and got an 86.

This class was tough! So glad its over, moving on!

Trying to register for 4 classes. There are holds and restrictions and trying to get that taken care of. So far the wrong restrictions were lifted. The advisor is at jury duty. Totally my luck right now.

Mony, Happy Birthday to your son happy birthing day to you! Yay for the class being over and getting better grades!

Twinkie, good to hear from you again. Hope you can make it more once school starts back.

Same for BBN and sports madness being reduced with school

New show on Fox tonight: "Master Chef" with Gordon Ramsey. First elimination round was cutting and dicing onions cause they need to very even for cooking time. Next is cooking one "stunning, single egg"

They get 1 egg only to work with and 30 minutes to do something with it. Should be interesting.

Pumba. unlike your yummy dinner, mine is crunchy taco supremes with hot sauce from Taco Bell for the second night in a row, but that's OK, I like them.

I love Taco Bell...but ...big sigh....it doesnt like me.........ANOTHER BIG SIGH...

Today is Thursday and I am pooped......Saturday we take granddaughter's bed and bureau up to her house that she and three others are renting.....it has four bedrooms and is about twenty minutes from her new college.....she is anxious and excited about this new school..
next week she has dentist appointment, then a tetnas shot and her tb test......then her birthday is also next week.....21 cant believe that.....she is a great granddaughter and wicked smart too......she got another 4.0 this past semester as did her boyfriend....smart kiddos..

Had to get up in the middle of the night and turn the ac back on....the house was stifling......liked closed in....our electric bill was high but so was everyone else in our area......either that or sweat to death.

Hope you all have a great day

Morning.

Just trying to get my house caught up, to my standards, and I am actually procastrinating about packing. Its just so hard with us wearing everything daily. So, I am just trying to keep up with the laundry.

Plus Maddy and Mal are still feverish, since Saturday, and I made them an apt. this morning to see their dr.

I have a planned family gathering at the house to celebrate my august babys' birthdays.

Then there's one week left until vacation.

DH had one of his employees under him pass away in PA. So, he was trying like a mad man last night to figure a way to get there for funeral services this weekend, on top of baseball tryouts, a family picnic and a child's birthday.
If this stuff didn't happen to us like this, I wouldn't feel balanced? It's just our luck. And please, my heart does go out to the family who lost their loved one. I was the first to tell DH, yes of course we can work this out. If I have to do it all here, so be it. At least I don't have any classes right now.

Very tired tonight just got into the campsite a little while ago.

We were in Las Vegas for three nights and we stayed up late every night. Did not come away rich that is for sure.

Drove though Utah today. Thought of Wendy. It is like a mini Grand Canyon , lots of mountains and red rocks. It was beautiful for a few hours then it got to be a long haul with no turn off for hours. Wouldn't want to break down on I-70.

Tomorrow I will be in Twinkie's neck of the woods. That is where our next campsite is anyway.

Well I must go to bed. Was up pass 4:00am our home time last night and got up really early this morning to get on the road.

Nab, yikes, you are going to need a vacation from your vacation!

Mony, I guess if it weren't for bad luck, you'd have no luck at all

Pumba, congrats to your GD!

Work sucks, but I am having lunch with an old associated tomorrow that I haven't seen in years, so that should be good.

TGIF!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nab: I have the week off when we return from WDW. I'm gonna need it to catch up and school starts that week. Your trip does sound enjoybale.

Happy Birthday to my baby. Maddy is 3 today!

Happy Birthday to Maddy and Happy Birthing Day to you. WOW, 3 years already?

Yay for going in a week.

Work is totally nuts! It just doesnt stop, always new requests.

Nabby, when do you get home? I'll be you will be happy to be home after all this time.

Have a great weekend, everyone.

Tomorrow I will be in Twinkie's neck of the woods. That is where our next campsite is anyway.

Whaaat? did I miss you? Are you already out of my neck of the woods? I would have stalked you!!! Cause who doesn't want to see me and my darling kinder? ;):rotfl:

I am trying to get organized and I am about to give up. It seems like the more I do, the worse it gets. :sad2:

Who know Kansas City, Kansas was so big....this morning that is where hubby said we were stopping tonight so I set the GPS only to find out there is a Kansas City Missouri too. That is where we just landed an hour ago.

It is darn hot here we want to go back to San Francisco where it was cool.
Yes Marita I will be happy to get home. All the cooking, washing and getting the kids ready in a small space is smaller each day it seems. We are not sleeping and eating normal either so we are all off schedule.

Mony-- happy belated birthing day. Love seeing Maddy's smiling face.

Tomorrow Newburgh, Indiana to see my cousin. We were going to stay at a Walmart or at least park this big thing there ,but if it is this hot who knows where we will sleep.

Nabbie, I vote you go on a cruise on your next vacation and take a plane down here!

This afternoon a transformer blew in the neighborhood, power went out for almost 3 hours on a hot August afternoon, ARGHHH!. Do you know how hot it can get here in 1 hour in the house? I didn't or at least didn't rememberhow quickly that happens.

I went to get some gas and wine and manage to kill 1/2 hour. But good news was the the power was restored a full hour before the estimated time!

The dishwasher died about a week ago, today finally a repairman came. Motor is dead, he has to order a new one, so that will be several more days.

Monday finally my new boss starts, but with 7 hotels spread around the property, attention is bound to be scarce. But still better than none, I guess. I have been feeling a void being without a leader for 2 months now and all the stress that is going on. Not that my last one was a great prize, he was a politician more than support. The old boss had 4 hotels, the new boss has 7!!!! So while I think he will be a better boss, the added volume offsets this. Monday morning we have a breakfast meeting to kick off the new organization. It's a low key breakfast in a cast conference room, probably donuts.
Oh, how I miss the old days!

Well, I may have improved my health by quitting smoking (a fight every day), but my nutrion, which has always been bad, is almost non existant now. I eat maybe once a day and just suck on mints or gum or eat pretzel sticks. Yesterday I had 1/2 a sub, today only pretzel sticks. Maybe I'll ask hubby to take me out to Red Lobster for some soup and bisquits tomorrow. He has Mondays off this month. Wait, I should go for the surf and turf (At least get something with nutritional value to eat on the spot) and take a few potato bacon soups and biscuits to go and hope I eat them later days.

Hot Dogs! Dang, I forgot, I should have gotten Oscar Mayer wieners today while the power was out, that is always a good "I really should eat something choice" and we are all out. I could have killed some more time, but at the time I really couldnt think of anything i wanted or needed, and I even took the long way home!

All this talk about food, and i'm still not hungry and i havent eaten all day. This can't be good!

PS: You Have to read this trip report, it's like a novel: http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=37762027&postcount=1

first Happy Birthday to this beautiful bright eyes and smiling little princess......I cant believe how time flies......it really does.....Our granddaughter will be 21 on Wednesday........cant believe this either.

Nab.....have fun visiting Walmart........Hubby says if we ever drive to Florida we would be walmart sleepers......

Marita.....Okey...Your diet is not good....yes you are healthier because you quit smoking but you need to eat something....Try getting a breakfast into you to start the day ....Maybe a bowl of oatmeal or an egg with a small sausage on an english muffin......this is a good way to start....protein keeps us going for some reason.....when you eat lunch......try a half of a sandwich or a chowder or soup.....at least try.....Supper even if you dont want to eat much.....get a slab of steak on the grill and maybe a few fries or baked potato....you are to important not to eat.....your body needs fuel......your brain needs fuel....YOU NEED FOOD.....end of my rant...I care to much for you and our cyber friends not to be concerned..

Get a list of your favorite real meal foods and buy it.....or go out and eat it..

Keep hanging in there, Marita! And I will second Pumba's remarks on stocking some healthy foods. Your body needs protein to function well, even if you just keep some cheese and deli meats or Publix chicken around!

Busy week and weekend for me. I went up north Monday through Wednesday with four of my high school friends, had a public hearing for work Thursday night, and went to my class reunion last night. 35 years . . . where has the time gone??! It wasn't super well attended, but I got to see a few friends who I pretty much only see every five years when class reunions roll around. It was very nice to attend at a lower weight for once!

Here's an updated photo - what I wore to my class reunion . . . the gal who does my hair insisted that I come in and have her do my hair yesterday. She did a great job, I got lots of compliments - it doesn't show here, but it was all flipped up in the back.

Moo. your cow is on top of the barn, LOL. I rember when you started it.

You snuck in the pictrure while I was posting, you look maavelous, darling!

Marita - Retirement is still at least two years away! I should redo my ticker so the cow is in the pasture!

Here's a photo from my trip up north earlier this week:

And here I am at my old BAND CAMP with a couple of my girlfriends who were in band with me!

Moo: You look amazing in those pics! You've done such a great job!!

Happy belated birthing day to Mony x 2.

And now Nab is moving on to Indiana? First she didn't stock Twinkie, and now she isn't stocking me? She needs stocking lessons! lol

Dh and the boys were in a car accident. They are all ok, but the van is completely smashed up. We think it will be totaled, but the van is only a year old, so there's a chance it might still be worth more than the damage. Glad they are all ok, but what a hassle.

The 18 yo boy that came out of nowhere and hit them was TEXTING. tsk tsk

Moo- you look amazing! Isn't it great how BAND CAMP friends are friends for life?

NAB-That is the Eiffel tower of course. It is just a rumor that it is in Paris. Much like that "moon landing" people keep talking about. Heh. You certainly do need stocking lessons.

Lynette- Enough lollygagging and futterwacking.

Marita- Is your daughter living with you guys now? It might be easier to eat with someone. I think you should have your DH take you out!

MP- Happy Giving Birth day! (I think I am late but hey I could say that to you randomly and be right plenty of times!)

Babynurse!-I am so sorry to hear about the accident but I am so glad everyone is ok. How scary!

Yikes! So glad everyone is okay! And urgh, what a nuisance it is to have to deal with insurance, etc. (I may have heard another friend lamenting that same experience. :rolleyes1)

Lynette- Enough lollygagging and futterwacking.

I toadily disagree! There should ALWAYS be time for lollygagging and futterwacking! That's what's wrong with the world today, I tell you what! If more people took the time to lollygag and futterwacken, the world would be a kinder, gentler place! :snooty:

Moo, you look fantastic! Congratulations on the results of all your hard work!

Marita, I agree with Twinkie. Maybe you and your daughter could make a plan to have some meals together. It'll encourage you to eat more regularly AND get you both to interact more frequently.

Mony, happy birthing days! And the same to you, MommyP

NAB, how long until y'all get back home? Don't know if I could be on the road for this long without jumping out of my skin! Kudos to you!
