Happy Birthday, Moo!

I am giving you an evening at V&A's.

I know the Chef personally and he swears it will not put a single ounce on you!

I'm also sharing a little known secret.

See all those columns around the dining room? The reason they are there is that there was one load bearing column cutting through the room, and so they created the other ones to form a pattern to make it look like it's by design.

Hope you have a great day!

And you are another year closer to Moo Hoo!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOO!!!!

:rockband::party::jumping1::cake::dance3:

HOPE YOU HAD A GREAT ONE!!!!

Had a sad day today my uncle died this morning. He was the one I asked you all to pray for a about a month ago. He lived on Cape Breton Island all his live. He was my last living uncle in my dad's immediate family. Now we are feeling bad we didn't head east instead of west. :sad1:

Went though Oklahoma, top of Texas and now we are in New Mexico. Things we noticed today. It is very windy and hot. And all the houses are one storey. I am guessing it is because of the weather they might get because they advertise storm shelters everywhere. Also saw the biggest ranch with more cows, and bulls all penned up the we have ever saw before. Lots of wind mills for power in Texas.

Oh yeah we gained another hour today. So instead of being 11:00 right now it is 9:00.

Thank bunches for all the birthday greetings and wonderful gifts!

Had a great, l-o-n-g fondue dinner at the Melting Pot with my friends after spending several hours at the art fair. It was so much fun to be able to see all the cool stuff and to be able to do all that walking but my knee was getting pretty sore.

Marita - I didn't abandon the thread! I just didn't get home til 12:30. I would LOVE to go to V & A's!

Moo, is the cow on your ticker on top off the barn and another one is coming, or am imagining things???

Tomorrow is my quit smoking appt. at the laser clinic. Wish me luck! Otherwise I will have a very upset DD and a wallet smaller by $229. After a short breather, work stress has raised its ugly head again, and the IRS wants stuff from us too, forms that confuse me. I already sent the $1000 :confused3

My carpet is begging to be vacuumed, the laundry basket is overflowing (thank god we have more stuff than wo need, so we are not short on towels, socks or underwear). Just another thing that screams "Get it done"

The stove top needs scrubbing too. Never ever get a flat top in beige, you can't boil a pot of water on it without it staining, and i can't get it clean, I need DH to do it, but he gets home at 3 and to bed at 5, so his time is very limited.

OK, enough whining, I better go to bed and get ready for quitting smoking after 45 years. HAH!!!!

Moo: Glad you had a nice birthday.

I was reading a trip report that started talking about lapu lapu's and then it triggered a memory of reading about PrincessV's TR when they wiped the bar out of pineapples, and then I had to find a post by said TR writer to go back and read about it AND that got me to one of my TR's.

Very sentimental, it was the one when DH was going through all his cancer stuff, I am happy for those TR's to be there as a reminder of the great times, and just how much I love and appreciate him.

Two weeks tomorrow and I will be a seasoned exer-scissor (it sounded funnier when I was typing it)! It's in my blood! I average 2 miles a day. And I'm making my miles in earlier times. I want to run in a 5K something terribly in Disney one day. The next one I think is in feb of 2011. I wonder if I can be ready by then? I wonder if DH would let me go just for the weekend solo? I don't want to be swept.

Allie: Do you know the times I'd need to try to finish in so NOT to be swept? I know you sometimes read, so I thought I'd give this question a shot.

Ok, off to my Uncle and Aunt's house to swim. I used to live there, they actually bought the last two homes my family grew up in.

Marita - Wishing you bunches of luck with your appointment and stopping smoking! :grouphug: If I could lose as much weight as I did, you can accomplish your goal too!!!

Mony - That's great that you have been keeping at your exercise program :thumbsup2 I never ever would have thought that I could be a regular exerciser, but I've maintained working out doing strength training a couple times a weeks and doing other exercising for more than a year now. You can do it! I arranged for my kettlebell instructor to come in for a wellness talk at work next Tuesday. I'm hoping to help motivate some people to give that a try. One of my good friends who I work with went to the kettlebell class with me tonight and it was a tough workout but we had fun! :cool1:

Mony - The posted time is a 16 minute mile, but DD and I passed Mile 1 with 19:00 + minutes on the clock. For a 5K, they are not as strict with the sweepers as they are with the Half and Full Marathons. Mainly because it doesn't require as much time to complete as the longer races. Plus, they are more family friendly. Oh and you and Moo better watch out, there are a bunch of Southern teens headed your way. :rolleyes1

Marita - Good luck with the stop smoking appt. Hope it ends up being money well spent. ::yes::

NAB - So sorry about your uncle.

Thanks Allie , have been having family update me by email for details etc. So glad we went and saw him last year on vacation. He was a great fiddler and true down Easter.

We are in AZ now. I am really trying to get used to the three hours back. Our eating and sleeping are getting all out of wack. Stopped a lot yesterday at tourist trap type places. And of course a Walmart. Yours always have different stuff in them so can't pass one by. :lmao:

Saw some of the Petrified Forest and now are heading to Flagstaff where we have heard at our campsite here that they have flooding there. Should be interesting since we were booked to stay there for two nights so we could go to the Grand Canyon . Also calling for three days of rain. I read they usually don't get much rain here.....must have been my bad luck for putting an umbrella up in Walmart yesterday.

Nab, Hope you stay dry at the Grand Canyon.

Well, went to the laser place yesterday, and so far hanging in there. What's really helping me is DD being SOO excited for me to quit, she went with me and totally took over, filling out my paperwork and asking questions and going to clean my car while i was in session. and promising me to take to Eclipse on Saturday.

She has cleared the house of all ashtrays, she is preparation to moving back home; rearranged my kitchen and bought new drapes and hung her artwork in the living room. She wants to go shopping with me Saturday to IKEA and get a bookshelf for cookbooks a her cuisineart and pictures.

She has been the nicest she's been to me since she was a child, LOL. So I really don't want to disppoint her.

Today was hard at work, I had lots of cravings, but I drank my water and got some lollipops. I contemplated getting some nicorette gels, but when I got home, I had some wine, and that really helped (opposite of what they say about alcohol) and nibbled on a bunch of pretzel sticks.

WHERE IS PUMBA?

MARITA, THAT IS SO GOOD TO HEAR! KEEP IT UP, YOU CAN DO THIS. YOUR DAUGHTER IS JUST WONDERFUL.

Nab, it is downright storming here, hope you stay dry. Utahmama was mentioning storms yesterday. I'm figuring you are somewhat in that part of the country.

Went shopping today. Hit a bunch of sales. Got Mal some summer outfits, Maddy too. Got them all new summer shoes which they can use in WDW. Old Navy had their yearly shirts for 2.50. Plus for the next week starting today, teachers and students get 25% off. I finally got to use my student I.D. Just under a month before we leave, the ticker is actually for when we check in to Pop.

My sister is throughing her fiance a surprise party tomorrow and I picked up two trays of BBQ pulled pork and 10 packages of Italiam sausage, buns, and gathered up my sterno trys. Hoping for good weather, they aren't forcasting
good weather though.

Now I too am wondering where Pumba is.........hope all is well.

Hubby took me out to a belated birthday dinner tonight to a seafood place. Yummy! I brought some good leftovers home for a snack tonight or lunch tomorrow and am having a bit of wine this evening.

Nabbie - Forgot to send condolences re: your uncle yesterday  I watched the fiddling video on FB yesterday. Very nice! Hope your weather straightens out for your Grand Canyon visit! I really enjoyed going there, but hubby was just kind of like, eh - it's a bit hole in the ground!!! :scared1: I was amazed by the colors in the canyon.

Marita - Keep up the good work!!!!!! It's great to hear that your DD is being so supportive. I would have loved it if my mom would have been able to stop smoking :) Your lungs will feel so much better :goodvibes

Mony - It is like a SAUNA here today! Hope you get some decent weather tomorrow for the party.

Pumba - Missing you! Hope all is well also!!!

Lynette - Missing you too!!!!!!! Hope you and the fam are enjoying the pool!

bbn - Hoping to hear a bit about your trip soon

I keep reaching over for a cigarette, and they aren't there

Put a glass of ice water there. chew the ice.

I still, and I mean every once in a great while get the urge, but it is so much easier to dismiss them now. It will get easier, great job Marita. I am very proud of you.

Looks like my sister is gonna have to move the party into the house today. More storms and it looks aweful out there. We had major winds and lightening go through here and downed trees in other cities. Today is round two.

Nice pictures of the trip over there Lynette. It was nice seeing the reunion pics too.

Have a great day, off to exercise!

I survived 2 days, 14 hrs, 18 mins without smoking so far. But i spent as much on snacks as I would have on cigarettes, LOL

I am so sorry that I have been MIA...

First off.....Birthday greetings to you and hope it was a great day......everyone should get all those presents that were presented to you.......

Nab sounds like an awesome trip and you guys are seeing things we probably wont...

Marita.....I am so darn proud of you that I could just spit......I know it is the hardest thing ever to do but you are going to do it ...for Marita....yourself....get some tic tacs and suck on them like I do.....every once in a blue moon I get a smell of a butt that I used to smoke....but heck I would never pick up another cigarette......I am a smokeaholic temporarily on the wagon..

Now I know I have been missing .....but so much has been going thru our minds ...hubby and myself.....we put the florida property on the mkt because hubby felt that we can not be an absentee homeowner for another three years.....already it was a trip down there to change the locks and find a lawn person we could trust..then find out there is a feud on the block of homes as who will do our lawn....hubby found a few other problems that would require him to keep on visiting.......so rather then have MORE stress and visit this place once a year for three weeks....we would wait until he is ready to retire......three years exactly and then we will do the plunge...maybe closer to the middle of the state and not on the edges........I hope that our realtor will get it sold and that we break even.....that is all we want...two month home owner in florida......every northerner';s wish

Pumba  So sorry to hear about selling the place, but i hear your concerns.

My brother called a little while ago, mom is back in the hospital intensive care with an IV, but he said she is getting a bit better. He'll keep me posted.

Did not plan on spending my morning at urgent care, but Mal rolled her ankle yesterday at my sister's steppin on an apple outside, and this morning, it looked so bad.....

......just a really bad sprain and they gave her a splint to wear. She can't/won't walk on it, says it hurts to bad.

then caught up with the rest of the fam to visit FIL for his 77th birthday.

Made plans to go up north with my sister this weekend at the cottage. Trying to work out that I have Friday off. I might make a parent mad.....hope not.

I worked my butt of yesterday so my sister could enjoy herself with her Finace's family. I am tired today. Back hurts from all the cooking and cleaning. We pulled it off and he was very surprised.

Gorgeous day here today, hope its pretty where you are.

Good work, Marita! You CAN do this!!! :goodvibes

Pumba - So sorry to hear about the issues with your Florida place  Fingers crossed that things work out OK.

Mony - Poor Mal :grouphug: Sprains can be really painful. Hope she feels better soon. That was so nice of you to help out with the party. We had gorgeous weather here today. I had a late lunch at a sushi place with my little sis, her BFF, and my nephew, then celebrated a friend's birthday with dinner at a place he used to hang out at during college, right across from the MSU campus. We ate out on the patio. It was so nice. Before dinner, I went for a half hour bike ride on campus. It was great - hardly any traffic; just a lot of people out walking and a few people on bikes.
