It was a very nice snow day! :) And they already announced that we're doing it again tomorrow! Driving home about an hour ago the roads seemed okay but I guess all the slush is supposed to freeze overnight. My friends and I went sledding afterall. Some guy had built a big fire so we sledded and sat around the fire and talked and then sledded some more! It was a lot of fun. Then we went over my one friend's house for dinner and to watch a movie.

Nab...I didn't exactly bake. Well, I made manicotti to bring over to my friend's house for dinner. But I did bake brownies just now to take over to her house tomorrow because we decided snow day #2 calls for brownies a la mode. ;)

Hope everyone else had a nice day...heading to bed!
:grouphug:

ok? who ready for spring? :goodvibes

is that you pumba? [ really hope the furnace back on....:cold: ]

as for me , i love warm feeling.

the way things are? a little sleet down south? sign me up!

..oh disneygirl, you still should be glowing s/p tide big victory.

though the game was pretty boring [ what happened to the offense-
well it didn't help with colt m. getting knock out. then i wasn't impressed
with the 'bama qb...until i learn later..he was playing with crack ribs,

...you know how tough that must been?!] . i am still feeling that
the press did not do t. tebow justice. it almost they don't want a nice
person to do well. as far as i am concern..the college game needs more
role models....., with his type of spirit.

then the saints win~ sorry b. nurse but you got to admitt....how ironic
is it...a purdue , indiana native leads the saints to victory. darn those
boilermakers,

moo?....darn wolverines/sparties!....that got al kinds of recruits from
the buckeye state?

fyi, one of my favorite college story..was when the penn state
defensive back broke his neck in ohio stadium. & making it back when
they won last year. * they did a great job stablizing him before leaving
the field. [ it made all the difference. it also illustrated what really
more important than any score. ]

well osu has a great basket ball team, because they got that chicago kid,
...evan turner. don't anyone play for their home state? :lmao:

you do know d. girl?....bama's coach is n. saban? the guy who lead
lsu...to the national c. just 5 years ago? that be like c. tressle taking
over for the wolverines ....can you imagine ? the chilling reception

....? :cold:

speaking of cold... i better not catch any ground hogs hanging around
my door. :scared: ...or gophers!

on a more serious note..did you all read about the cousin & her abortion
posting?..she begins by talking the usually 16 y/o problems like
drugs., sex, abortions....i wanted to post..., no! these are not the normal
behaviors..for any 16y/o. & this isn't the road to maturity. instead
regrets & misery, there something to doing the things today, one
would wants to remember tomorrow. wow~ i can tell of many adventures
..i was out for wheni was 16. but none including any of this!

Well I expected to wake up to 10cm of snow this morning but there is only a dusting out there, I can still see the sidewalk. Maybe it just hasn't reached us yet. I think it is too cold to snow anyway , says is it -12 .

Moo-- yay for working at home tomorrow. If you got the snow they were callig for , safer at home.

Marita -- Can't blame Canada for this one it is all you guys this time. I saw on the news they are using helicopters to bring in snow from three hours away for the Olympics. Vancouver is getting a lot of rain and warm temp. and can't even make it. They are just trying to keep the snow they bring in to stay with straw and piped in cold underneath.

Lil'g -- I saw that thread too but didn't read it all. I am sure your were a rascal when you were young. Heck you are one now by the sounds of it.:lmao:

P.J.-- brownies sound good. Maybe I will make some for Valentine's Day and decorate them with little hearts in the icing. Sounds like you had a good snow day. You get to sleep in again today.

Pumba-- Hope you didn't freeze to death yesterday.....is the furnace running yet?

My internet's been down since Friday night. It comes and goes but they are working on it. It's working right now, so I thought I would pop in and say "Hi" and ty for the condolences on Dumbo and on my beloved Colts.

Another snow day here. The kids are just a "tad" stir crazy, but haven't driven me out of my mind...yet.

yup and Thank goodness for heat.......hubby is a great guy and managed to understand the problem and fix it up on the furnace......he can do plumbing and heating and at one time had his masters license for Electrician....it was to much for him to do crawling into small holes( happened when we grew older) and carrying 100 plus pounds of wire.....so he opted out of that and transferred to the Electricial engineering part of the shipyard....he works in an office and at a desk and has a computer and does all the design work after the Engineers tell him on paper and computer what they want....Hubby also does his own shortening of pants and mine too...gotta love a guy that can handle a sewing machine.....:rotfl:

Marita....I understand when a person is warm and then voila gets cold air coming at ya.....that is for the birds....or for the polar bears.....yah those guys.

Moo thanks again for the sites you send me.....I truly appreciate it...

Cel.....you are just tired. Take a relax break and do something for cel day.....Hope you can do that for yourself.....hugs to you anyways

Slow day around here! I was very happy to be working at home today.

Pumba - You're welcome. Hope that site is useful for you and your niece. My hubby also knows his way around a sewing machine whereas I caught my finger with the needle while sewing in home ec class and have never tried again.

I'd saw we got at least 6" of snow yesterday and it's spitting out there again Lightly, thank goodness.

Peej - w00t for your snow day again and brownies :)

Marita - TG you're taking Friday off! Do you have to work on Monday?

Lil G - Guess I haven't seen anything about that recruiting you mentioned . . . but Ohio is a border state after all.

The Drew Brees Disney World commercial is on right now

Moo, it was hit or miss today on my vacation day, as my partner is out of the office for 3 hours in the morning, but it got approved in the end. Yes, I have to work Monday.... :guilty:

I could use a husband with sewing skills about now, one of the suits I bought needs to have the pants and sleeves hemmed. No such luck. I might have even tried it myself by hand (sewing machine is long gone...), but it's lined, more than I care to take on.
I found this place called "Beyond Alterations" near my house, so I plan on taking it there on Friday, hope it works out and is not too expensive. At any rate, its a suit I got for $80, good quality fabric and lined, so even if I spend half on alterations, its still a good deal.

The power went out in my house apparently sometime during the night, and half my alarms didnt go off. So I got to work 40 minutes late, plus my coffee wasn't ready!!!!!!!!!!

BBN, I would go totally crazy without my internet, not only for the sites, but also because I do so much work from home just out of boredom. Basically, the internet is my lifeline, sad but true. I also miss our old regulars. Maybe we got too boring :rolleyes1

NAB, yikes on havng to fly in snow for the Olympics:scared1: I hope that all works out ok, sounds scary. I am looking forward to it.

I am going to miss Jay Leno on at 10 pm - random thought

The pics from Washington look awful. Sounds like most of you are doing better than that though. I had already put away my thick turtle necks and had to get them back from the other closet :sad2: Hopefully it will be better next week.

Better get something to eat...

Hi to eveyone

/
good morning.

Today is not to bad ...The snow all stayed to our south of our state.........AINT LIFE GRAND......hahaha....Our bil had to shovel five feet off the deck in Maryland.....he is in the little circle of DC and va and maryland......So he leaves maine and goes to NH and then ends up in Maryland and whammo...hubby and him laughed a little bit at this.

Yesterday went shopping with my dil and munchkin....DIL got some good sales for her shirts and stuff to go to Disney in May. I got some prilosec and peanuts.:lmao:..I will look over my clothes and see what I need....but still thinking if I behave and lose those extras that I found last fall, I may be able to get away with buying nothing but a new pair of sneakers. I do wear my LL Bean sandals that have velcro on the top and on the sides....they are wicked comfortable and I walked one whole day at Disney last year...I am not sure about walking in Disney in sockless crocs. I have a pair of mickey crocs that I could feel good in with socks but that looks silly....I dont know ...any opinions...

Just read the newspaper and two local people are going to be on the Rachel Rays show tomorrow and the guy pops the question to his girl friend. I am gong to see if I can finangle a way to walk later then her show. I do not know how to tape it ...and I dont have another thing that people are talking about....

My dear sweet innocent daughter (who will be 38 in a few days) is going to play womans hockey. She got her skates the other night and they have been molded to her feet and she got her padded pants and Helmet with a cage in front of her face. all she needs is a thing to protect her front of her female area.......catch my drift...like a guys cup ..... She starts training in three weeks......I will probably be asked to go and watch but I will wait a little until she gets her feet under her going in the right direction...

Last night my computer sort of had a mini attack and died.......right here while I was fixing my farmville farm. Hubby worked on it for two or so hours with a few dirty words blended in. He got it up and running and hopefully Saturday morning he will take out the hard drive and put in the new one. I have two always here. One is a back up and he backs up all my info...

Anyone that is going to Disney in the near future and has made dining reservations......CHECK and recheck them. I made one reservation Sunday for the luau and something made me recheck it and sure enough ...the ding bat that took our reservation (she could not get the info right) kept on saying two adults and four kids....well she didnt get ANY adults (:scared1:) on the reservation and put in 2 kids age 4 and 5. SO yah we are going to let the two munchkins go to the luau alone. I called yesterday and got a person that was VERY MUCH with the program and got it fixed up.....so CHECK CHECK and take your confirmation numbers with you to disney....
GOTTA do my Restaurant board speal....HAHAHA....just dont want my friends or non friends mess up and not get into where they are thinking they are going.
have a good day everyone

Hello!

Super sick with a migraine today. Having had one in forever. So bad I even took a pregnancy test(always get migraines in early pregnancy), but thankfully that's not the culprit. :) Chad did say he was going to come home if I was still so bad when he got off work. (school night)

Monday we did our volunteer time for the free disney ticket. It was HORRIBLE! lol. It said ages 6 and up, but really only adults could help, so Chad got to pass the time actually volunteering and I had to sit in a room with my 3 boys and 3 other kids for 2 1/2 hours. But I survived and a free ticket is worth it, but then....Yesterday I get an email from the program saying we MISSED our volunteer opportunity and had to sign up for another. WHAT???? Not cool. I've been trying to get in touch with the head guy at the church to see whats the deal.

I've been trying to work up a trip plan while FL. residents can get 4 day tickets for $99. So far no luck breaking Chad. :(

MommyP - Feel better soon :grouphug: Migraines suck. Plain and simple.

Marita - Whew! Glad you're getting tomorrow off. I wouldn't want my hubby doing any sewing for me but I'm glad he can take care of his own stuff!

Pumba - I'd go crazy if my laptop croaked. It drives me nuts when the Internet is down for a short while  I have "heard" so many people saying to double check your ressies. I won't have to worry about that for a while (boo hoo).

Nabbie - I didn't realize opening ceremonies for the Olympics were so close! I'll probably have to go watch them in my room, but at least I have a comfy chair in their now. No BL for a while

I take a day off and nobody is around. What's up with that?

Here is an interesting list of top 10 things to look for tonight at the Olympics:

I was slighlty worried this morning. Tried to get to work website and it kept telling me access was denied. I thought, did I get fired??? But it finally let me connect, whew!

Gray and overcast outside today, rain is expected all day, but nothing so far. That doesn't bode well for me going out and getting nails done (finally) and go grocery shopping :guilty: Hate going out in weather like this!

Hope everyone has a good day!

I thought that is what we were suppose to do when you had a day off Marita....:lmao:

I was out getting my groceries this morning and picking up some chocolate for hubby for Valentine's day.

Last night we went to a concert at the school. The school band needed practice playing for people before they go to the other schools in the area. Nicholas got to play jingle Bells and the Ants go marching...on the tuba. It was loud and wasn't too bad since we could actually make out the songs. Some of them it was like what song is this. :confused3 Plus the money they raised last night will go to uniforms.

Got home just in time for Survivor. It was pretty good last night. Nice when you know all the people.

Well now I am off to get my hair cut. Can't stand when it is in my eyes.

I thought that is what we were suppose to do when you had a day off Marita....:lmao:

Very true, always happens when I take a vacation day! :sad2:

I really need to vacuum, but I am dragging my feet.... Hubby finally took down the xmas tree 3 weeks after I took off the ornaments, but left a mess on the floor. I can't vacuum during the week cause is is sleeping by the time I get home.

I have already decided that grocery shopping can wait, but maybe, just maybe, I can get myself riled up to get nails done, they are definitely getting too long for typing

that is to funny Marita....I need the extra length of the nails so I can reach the top row of keys....I have always had nails even when we typed in high school and it was a manual typewriter.....so I can do it YES I CAN......hahaha...

Just finished my week of walking with my niece....made her go into the celler and weigh herself and we are keeping a log......I lost two and a half pounds and am aiming for MORE>......but the most important thing for her and me is to lower our blood sugars.....I showed her that eating a half of an italian sandwich which is thirty carbs is enough for a lunch. She has issues with portion control.....she is also a snacker.....she made me laugh when she said she had an ice cream with chocolate coating for a snack and then a creamsicle push up pop later on...I said GEESH...nicole.....a snack does not work when you have ANOTHER snack an hour later and then supper another hour later.....ONE SNACK inbetween lunch and supper....SHe is reading the food choices and how many carbs are in each type or kind. THE CALORIE KING is a great book....does calories for those who watch those, fats for those who watch those and carbs for most of the diabetics. I told her we will do carbs for now and then later on concentrate on the fats...even has common restaurants and fast food places we all go to.

Tonight I get to splurge and we will go out for dinner......cant decide yet where to go...but I will work on that.....

Hope you all have a good day and MARITA go and get those nails done......;)

Nails and eyebrows are done, whew! I almost fell asleep during it though, tookk over an hour.

I'm hungry, haven't eaten all day, so I decided to make beef stew just now at 7pm. Probably not my most brillant thought. :laughing:But nothing in the freezer appealed to me, see I guess I will slice and dice and fry and cook and make dumplings (yum!)

Olympic coverage starts in 1/2 hour!
Thinking of you, Nabbie!!

Hey Marita........have you heard of the alarm clocks that have battery back up....so you wont ever miss out on getting up when the power kills out.....or get one of those wind up jobbies......those work pretty good and make a horrible wake up noise........although I hate any type of music in the morning to wake me up....I would prefer a noise......so when the alarm gets the noise of it going to click on I get rid of it..

have a good night

We are sitting here waiting for them to start too Marita.

I hope they show the red mittens that have been selling like hot cakes here.

So sad to here about the luger that died today in practice. Can't even imagine what his family must be going though. They were probably so excited for me to be going to the Olympics.

Hannah bought a Olympic teddy bear tonight while we were out. I sent Twinkie the same one for the new baby. My sister bought me a hoodie for Christmas. Lots of Olympic spirit here.

Pumba, yes, I know about batteries for alarm clock. It's on my calendar as a reminder, just haven't done it yet :sad2:

Nab, go Canada!!!

Beef Stew should be done in about 15 minutes, if I am still hungry by then....

I always get misty eyed when they play O Canada.....written by an ancester......and my next door rug rat that goes to our hockey games here can sing it in both French and English....we have a league here that most of the teams are from canada.....so he sings it and it sounds pretty good. I sing the English vs cause my pronouciation STINKS........good Frenchman that I am......hahaha..

we did chinese buffet and I ate two plates of steamed clams........low in carbs.YES YES YES.....then a piece of salmon .....zero carbs......then a small amount of fried rice....probably fifteen or twenty......steamed pot stickers I ate three of those and those are equal to four carbs per ......so twelve there..Then I had a piece of apple pie and vanilla ice cream...very very small ..HONEST....and a tank of chinese tea .....just plain ol' tea...no sugar or milk in that.....I know some people do it and I think YUCK.......

so have a good night everyone......and go Olympians......

Stayed up way to late last night. And so did the kids.

Loved the opening ceremonies. The floor was so cool. The whales swimming, the leaves and the ice. I also like K.D Lang when when she sang. They only had that one glitch at the end. It seemed like it took Wayne forever to get to the outside coultren thing. Not sure if that was suppose to be like a big campfire? They were big on the native theme last night.

Tonight we are going to a Valentine's Day dance at the church. It is a combo going away farwell to one of your priest as well so the kids are coming with us. They have never seen us dance before. Nicholas thinks we can't but he is in for a big surprise when he see his dad dance. He got some moves. When we go to wedding and such he gets lots of complaints and asked how he can do that.....:lmao: It will be nice to get out since we missed the Christmas dance this year.

Don't even have to find us clothes since we will wear what we wore for our Christmas picture. Just the right colour for Valentine's day.
