Moonlight Magic Jan 2025!

Interesting for the DCA one. Normally, there is only one registration period for all guests. But now, they are having an early for qualifying reservations and then general. I guess with more guests now at VDH?

I'm sure this info is somewhere, but if I wanted to try for the HS Midnight Magic 9/1, I need to be staying on points that night, correct? We already have a trip planned that weekend at Coronado Springs, but were planning to leave out that day. But we planned to just add one more night on points. Will that work?

Received a registration email. Can you register for all the events (or 2 of 3) during the same registration session?

Registration Dates for Winter Season Events
Early Registration: January 15, 2025
General Registration: January 17, 2025
Winter Season Event Dates
  • Disney’s Hollywood Studios®: 1/26/25

Can you register for all the events (or 2 of 3) during the same registration session?
Ah, reading a little further, that question is answered:

Please note that, in order to allow as many Members as possible to enjoy Disney Vacation Club Moonlight Magic, Members are eligible to register for one event date during each event season (Winter: January – February, Spring: April – June, Summer: July – September) regardless of whether your registered event date was confirmed during early registration or during general registration.

I asked same question above, haven't seen an answer yet, we are also checking out on the morning of.

You must using your membership for a reservation that covers the event date (can be check in or check out day). That means either a cash or points reservation made thru DVC.

Check-in and check-out day qualify (same like EEH).

As long as you are DVC-Y you’ll need either a stay booked on points you own or a cash room booked through Member Services.

It doesn’t matter if your stay is on a different membership number or resale points. The system can see that you are blue card and have a stay on your points or thru MS.

What was removed last year was the ability for DVC-Y member staying on another DVC members points (eg - rental). A regular onsite cash stay doesn’t work either.

I believe it means a reservation made on your blue card eligible points … no rented points or resale (unless grandfathered)
Do you happen to know what happens if your reservation is a mix of direct and resale (not grandfathered points)?

As long as you have a blue card (DVC-Y) membership, ANY stay on your OWN points qualify.

When you sign up, make sure to use the Membership# your stay is booked on (even if that is your resale points). The system still sees DVC-Y attached to your name.

When signing up do not use the Membership # of your blue card if you are staying on your own points under a different membership. That will result in the system not seeing the stay.

The system first checks you have a stay that night, then looks to see your DVC status. If you enter a membership # that doesn’t have a stay those dates, it will reject before even looking to see if you are DVC-Y or not.

I am staying at Swan Reserve for the January 26 MM. Do I have any chance at all to get tickets during the general registration?

As a backup plan I’d put out a post that you are looking for a ticket(s) and someone here might end up with extra and give it to you

Thank you very much, this was very informative!

HS is the hardest to get into for general registration because it's the smallest park. You had to be in the low 100s to get in last year. It doesn't hurt to try though

I see the announcement on the website, but how do you actually register? Is there a link somewhere? What time does registration open on the 15th?

I'm getting worried that I will not qualify for early registration.

I am a blue card DVC member, as I own direct Riviera/Polynesian points.

However, for my stay in February, I used resale BCV points.

Now I'm seeing some reports that even if you are a blue card member, you must have a reservation using your direct points to qualify for early registration.

Will I qualify for early registration?
Piggybacking on this because my February stay used both resale and direct points…

DVC sends an email out to those with an eligible onsite reservation the day prior which contains the link. They will also add the link to the member website (HERE) the morning of and someone usually posts the link on these boards. For the last 2 years, registration has begun at 11 am eastern.

Is there a limit on numbers for early registration? I’m travelling over to the US on the 15th and I’m unlikely to be able to sign up until the evening - will I have any chance of signing up?

You need a reservation for early registration.

For early registration, the maximum number of guests will be the number of guests listed on the reservation. If your room occupied 8, but you only have 6 on the reservation, your limit will be up to 6.

My understanding is that registration (early and normal) both typically reach capacity within 1/2 hour.
