Early registration opens on January 15, 2025
The early registration window for the January 26, 2025 event is open to eligible Members with qualifying Resort reservations*. See the “Know Before You Register” section for more information. All Resort reservations and modifications—including changing your party size—must be completed by 11:59 PM Eastern Time on January 12, 2025. Modifications to your Resort reservation party size after January 12, 2025, will not increase your party size for the event.

General Registration opens on January 17, 2025

The general registration window for the January 26, 2025 event is open to all eligible Members (limited availability).
For the September 1, 2025 Disney’s Hollywood Studios event:

Early registration opens on May 15, 2025
The early registration window for the September 1, 2025 event is open to eligible Members with qualifying Resort reservations*. See the “Know Before You Register” section for more information. All Resort reservations and modifications—including changing your party size—must be completed by 11:59 PM Eastern Time on May 11, 2025. Modifications to your Resort reservation party size after May 11, 2025, will not increase your party size for the event.

Basic question, they state "confirmed qualifying Resort reservation" without actually defining it as far as I can tell. For the 3 Feb DCA event, does staying at VGC on points and checking out on 3 Feb count as a qualifying reservation? Does the night of the event have to be part of the reservation?

I believe it means a reservation made on your blue card eligible points … no rented points or resale (unless grandfathered)

Also, interesting that the registration for EC, DHS, and DCA are all on the same day. I'm preemptively worried about the website crashing.

They've done 3 events at a time in the past, including fall 2024. The virtual queue moderates traffic. It's undoubtedly less traffic than Disney has seen with people queuing up to buy Annual Passes or register for runDisney events.

I've registered for runDisney enough times to not trust their ability to handle the traffic, even with the virtual queue

I'm getting worried that I will not qualify for early registration.

I am a blue card DVC member, as I own direct Riviera/Polynesian points.

However, for my stay in February, I used resale BCV points.

Now I'm seeing some reports that even if you are a blue card member, you must have a reservation using your direct points to qualify for early registration.

Will I qualify for early registration?

I've registered for runDisney enough times to not trust their ability to handle the traffic, even with the virtual queue

I mean, nobody can guarantee zero issues. But they've done this in the past and there weren't widespread reports of registration problems. I've signed up for 5 or 6 of them personally over the years and never had a problem.

My understanding is that it depends on the membership, not the points. So if your BCV points are under the same membership no as your direct points, you should be good.

Event Registration Limits
In order to allow as many Members as possible to enjoy Moonlight Magic, Members are eligible to register for one event date during each event season regardless of whether your registered event date was confirmed during early registration or during general registration.

2025 Event Seasons:

• Winter: January – February
• Spring: April – June
• Summer: July – September

If you're talking the Jan DHW and Feb DCA, I don't think you can. See my post above about only one registration during the same season.

I just used the Chat function to speak with Member Services and they confirmed that registration will open at 11am EST on the 15th
