Moonlight Magic at HS

Has anyone here done the Moonlight Magic event at Hollywood Studios? How difficult is it to get tickets during the period when only those with room reservations are eligible and how crowded was the event?

Very difficult. DHS lets in far fewer people than MK. Lots of people were shut out and salty last year.

Lots were shut out, but Toy Storyland was packed. Rest of the park was empty. RR and ToT were basically walk on. All TSL rides were long 40+ minutes.

Any idea if tickets were gone early in the morning of the first day or did it take a couple days to sell out? I’m trying to figure out how hard to stalk the tickets for the 3/27 event during our Spring Break trip.

Incredibly difficult. We couldn't get tickets last year despite logging in and stalking. DH ended up being able to go thanks to the incredible kindness of someone who ended up with a ticket they ended up not needing.

He liked the event, had a good time and really enjoyed the character meets. It was more crowded than he expected. It wasn't super crowded but it wasn't "walk right onto slinky dog" empty either.

Last year they were gone in under 20 minutes. I think closer to 10 minutes.

Just keep trying. It was hard to book. Disney IT is not good. It took a long time to get in.

It was very difficult to get tickets last year. I was having difficulty logging on from my phone, but my husband got on the site to purchase our two tickets with no problems. I heard they revised the MM registration process to involve an online waiting room, which is supposed to be an improvement.

As a side note, we enjoyed the event last October! I think it's a nice perk. The park was fairly empty aside from TSL. SDD was a 20-25 minute wait, but we weren't able to get a FP+ so I didn't mind the wait. CM were really friendly, dinner was free, and there were rare character meets. I'd never met Ewoks before.
