Moonlight magic at epcot

I wasn't one of the people complaining that a bonus chance didn't work out. I was logged on before 11 also, and got 2 high lottery numbers - over 8400 and over 9400. My complaint was that others were sharing their links which resulted in people who jumped ahead in a randomly selected line.

I also logged on well before 11 and got a slightly lower number than you, but I just checked my confirmation email and realized that I got it at 11:53. I think I had been estimating 12:30 based on how quickly the numbers were going down, and then it suddenly went a little faster.

I am sorry you didn't get tickets. The first MM we successfully got was in March 11 2020 for June and we all know how that went....
I have never gotten an MM night. Either because my trip dates were planned before announcing the nights (missing them by days) or because they were sold out before I had the chance.

Its nice you get to experience them more than once. I am happy for those who get it…I’m just done trying to run a race me and so many others don’t stand a chance at winning.

There are other things to do…of course they cost $$$$ and this is free, but I am getting used to missing out enough to realize I shouldn’t bother anymore. Too aggravating. Membership is supposed to be enjoyed, not annoying.

I have been looking at Universal. I won’t have a car so checking out prices for lyfts and ubers. Maybe time I share my vacation dollars outside the kingdom of the mouse.

Enjoy!

Are these things that great that it bothers folks so much not to get in? Personally I doubt I’d ever base my entire trip around one of these or any other similar event night, paid or free. We were lucky (I guess) that the week we already were coming to enjoy our membership happens to have two chances at MM. We certainly would not be cancelling our trip had we not been able to get one or if they weren’t offered during our time at all. Why not just let everyone that wants to attend in? Guess here is that many of the annoyed folks would also be annoyed at the crowds …
IMO, MM is great if you have individual date tickets (vs. an annual pass). It's a free night at a theme park. Plus some really enjoy the free snacks.

Considering how much late-night ticketed events cost, it's a very good deal.

It looks like DVC rooms are available for the MM at DHS at the end of August.

For those who can change their travel dates that might be the next best chance at a MM.

Well, that Epcot MM I was so excited to get -- didn't happen:

I registered on March 11, 2020, and then the world as we knew it shut down on March 13. This is the email I got on June 3:

Dear Members –

We hope this message finds you and your loved ones well.

As you may be aware, Walt Disney World theme parks will open beginning July 11 for Magic Kingdom Park and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park followed by EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios on July 15. Due to the extended park closures, the EPCOT Moonlight Magic event you registered for in June is cancelled. We’ll evaluate Moonlight Magic events scheduled for July and beyond as we approach those event dates and will share any updates as soon as possible.

To learn more about the phased reopening plans at Walt Disney World Resort, including Disney Vacation Club resorts, please visit [the DVC website].

Our first and only MM that we ever went to was in 2022 at AK. Usually the dates don't line up for us either. I am bringing a friend for a girls' weekend, so we happened to get lucky with the date here.

My question is to the people who are in the queue already when it opens at 11 AM. Do you just click on the link that is in the email to us. And then do you just wait on the page that shows that the queue opens in so many hours and minutes and seconds.

Yes, just wait.

Don’t click anything, don’t refresh, just wait.

Yes, very easy. Be on the page prior to 11 so you're eligible for the random queue. And then wait. Even with numbers 9000+, just needed patience - as people got what they wanted, logged off, or got impatient, that number went down at a steady rate. Just needed an open internet connection and window, checking on it every now and then. It refreshed a couple times per minute showing you moving closer to the front of the queue. Then the page automatically changed to the registration page. So whether you opened the "Pluto" page at 8AM or at 10:55AM, you were randomly assigned a spot in the queue.... If folks waited until after 11AM, then they went to the back of a very long line.

I think part of the problem may be a member signing in on multiple devices.
I was reading on another post that people were signed on to the sign up page using multiple devices and I am not sure how that effects the system.
I had read on DIS about using multiple devices to line up. I signed in on my computer about 3 hours early (I know they say the number you're assigned is random) and on my tablet maybe 1 hour before. At 11 am the tablet was assigned 9000+, and the computer 125 or so. Once I finished on the computer in about 5 minutes, I canceled the tablet. I waited until I signed up in case there was a problem with the computer link.

For at least two previous Moonlight Magic events, people reported being dumped from the queue if they had a very low number (perhaps less than 500).

I did not see this happen this time but imagine having your 125 number and then suddenly being disconnected due to no fault of your own. :(

I was 401 and since it was our first time signing up we tried to read everything carefully …. Ended up getting a ‘timed out try again’ page but backed out of it and thankfully it picked up where it left off … got the confirm email so all appears to be fine

I was 847 just now at 11 am. Apparently registration closed in just 15 minutes. I was down to 309 and didn't make it. 😞😞😞

Honestly, thinking about it, how could that be? When I got assigned number 847, I was like oh my gosh this is the lowest I've ever gotten! So they only got about 500 before it was cut off. How can that be? Someone please help!

This wasn’t during the early registration period right?

It was for general registration. I don't have a resort reservation but live only 90 minutes away. I've been a member since 2001, I have never heard of this closing so quickly. I mean, my number was so low it wasn't even 1000!!!!!

This is how it is normally for general registration. Almost all of the spots are given out during (usually 8-9000 parties) pre-registration and then 500 parties make it through the queue during general registration. Sorry you didn't get into the event.

That's ok. Thank you for your quick response 😊

We got group 1 today!!! I could not believe it! We have never been that low before!
