Moonlight Magic at Epcot questions

Hi all! We were lucky enough to snag ressies for December 4th! All it lists for rides are Soarin, Test Track, Mission Space and Spaceship Earth. Will World Showcase be open during this evening, or just Future World? Will FEA and Mexico boat ride be open? Also wondering if there will be special fireworks that evening? Last year we attended Moonlight Magic at MK, and LOVED IT! Many, many rides were open andthey did incredible “special” fireworks. I’m not sure if this is the first time for this event being held at Epcot. If it has been held before, maybe we could get some reviews or what to expect this time. Thanks in Advance, Jane

It's the first time they've held a Moonlight Magic event at Epcot.

Until DVC provides more information, we only have the event details page to go by for what will be available during the event.

One of our guests has never been to Epcot. I think it’s great we can enter at 7:30, and it’s during The holidays. He’ll get to see Illuminations with the tag! I would love extra fireworks like they had at MK.

We have been to AK and Typhoon Lagoon special DVC events and they were great. Looking forward to seeing what they do at EPCOT! I was so surprised that they maxed out the numbers the first day of signing up. December really is popular with DVCers.

My guess is that world showcase will be closed. Due to only 4 attractions being open, the total number of guests being allowed to attend may be a low number and that is why 12/4 sold out so quickly.

Bill, I sure hope more attractions will be added to the list as it gets closer. IMO, 4 isn’t really enough to make an event. I’d love to be able to walk around World Showcase at night, without the crowds. Even if it’s just for the beauty of it.

All of the world showcase shops and restaurants will be closed even if they allow guests to wander around. Not much to do or look at IMO.

I sure wish they would keep FEA running for this! We only rode it once, when it first opened. DH doesn’t want to burn a FP for it, and I wouldn’t want to wait in line for very long for it. I was hoping this would be a way to get on it again, lol.

The Dis rented out Epcot after hours for their 20th anniversary and we went (last May). The same rides were open, and they had a private showing of Illuminations for us around the World Showcase, although the attractions of the World Showcase were not open. I don’t know if they will do this for the DVC event. I’m just saying they could if they wanted to.
