Few things in life are as pleasant as a good heart-felt, belly shaking laugh. A good laugh can quickly turn a rotten day into a fantastic one, a bad situation into a mere challenge, and a grumpy child into a little angel. WDW was created with the goal of making children of all ages do just that laugh. A ride or an attraction that doesn't produce laughter just doesn't seem worthy of the Disney name. Thankfully most of the rides do indeed invoke mirth to one extent or another. Yet, with all of these wonderful attractions producing various levels of glee, I think there is one show in particular that simply outdoes them all in this category Monster's Inc. Laugh Floor.
A relatively new attraction, Monsters Inc. has taken the level of laughter to previously unseen heights. If you can sit through this show, and never once permit a chuckle or guffaw to escape from your lips, it might be time to get a tune up on your laugh box. To put it lightly, this show is simply hilarious. Using some pretty fantastic technology, the Laugh Floor involves the audience in a way that only Crush's Turtle Talk can match, and with similar results. Seeing some grumpy old geezer up on the video screen as the man mostly likely to break out in a Tango, or the cute little kid sitting next to you as the big scary monster is simply awesome.
Another thing about this show that I find so amazing is how it manages to be so different every time you see it (and believe me, we saw it quite a few times). Sure there are some similar jokes, but because the audience interaction is so unpredictable, every show is extremely unique.
Using the characters from Monster's Inc was an incredible idea for this show. I can't think of any other Disney film that could have had the same amount of success for this type of attraction.
I don't want to ruin the show for any of you who haven't seen it yet (and if you haven't I really, really want to encourage you to do so), but I will say this be prepared for anything. Don't be surprised if you are asked to stand up and do the hula dance (and believe me, it's better for you to do what you're asked then to try to act too cool to participate).
Whenever I feel a need for a good strong laugh, Monster's Inc. Laugh Floor is simply the best option I can think of in all of WDW.
Has anybody here been chosen for anything during the show? Although nobody in my family has yet to be picked (on), hopefully someday one of us will be.
