We are staying at the Contemporary soon and rather than do all the normal things, like the shops, arcade and pools, we would like to see some hidden secrets or do something we have not done before. No matter how stupid it may seem, I still want your ideas. This could apply to any resorts on the Monorail line.

For example, I've heard that there used to be a restaurant called the Gulf Coast Room - we would like to know where it was and explore that area and see what is there now - although I'm not entirely sure where that is (or was).

There used to be a small kid play pool that looked like the main pool. It was located where the playground area used to be. Would have loved to visit that area, but BLT is there now.

Thanks

We find it best to walk to MK in the morning (10 minutes) and ride the monorail back (1st stop).

We love to explore the other resorts. Hang out on the beach at Poly. Listen to the pianist at GF.

We're staying at CR in March, and I like to find alternate things to do as well.

Heard about the butterfly garden at CR. Will give it a shot.

Look at the different activities offered at each resort. There's a beer tasting at the wave, culinary tour of boma and jiko at akl, tour of wilderness lodge. All these things are really informative and fun....best of all they are free!

Last time at the CR, we took some time to go play at their beach area one evening. We were the only people there and the kids had a blast playing in the sand. Plus, it's nice to relax and watch the boats go by. I'm not sure this qualifies as a hidden gem but there was NO ONE else around! :)
