Hi.
I was just wondering if you can take the monorail if you are not going into one of the parks that day. If we want to take it to go the Poly, then Contemporary, then Grand Floridian. Does anyone know?
Thank you!

That is no problem at all. We've done that many times. You just have to figure out how you are going to get there. In the past we would still take a bus to MK and then walk over to the monorail station and check out the resorts.

Anyone can ride any form of transportation at any time.

If you are onsite you can take a bus to the MK and ride around there or for a longer trip start or end your trip at Epcot.

You will need to take the Resort monorail not the express. Just a note on the order it will go MK -> Contemporary -> TTC -> Poly -> GF (or any start order). Not saying you want the most efficient route for your travel, but if you're starting at Poly it would make more sense to go to GF first then Contemporary and back to Poly.

Thank you! I think we might park our car at Poly, have brunch, then monorail to the other two resorts to look around.

If you are not staying at the hotel, there is generally a limit if 3 hours parking. You could, however, park in the TTC lot, take the tram, and walk along the path for 5 minutes (pretty path) to get to the Poly.

Did something similar on our last day a number of years back. Stayed off property and slept in on our last day, at breakfast told the now wife I would treat of she wanted to do the Richard Petty ride along, we had a late flight and due to a long weekend there was no way we could get on an earlier flight. When we got there they were putting the school cars on the track and asked if we would mind coming back in a bit and that they would put us in the front of the line if there were a lot of people already in line when we got back. With sometime to kill we drove over to the CR, I told the parking attendent that I had never been in the CR and would love to look around. He said not problem and gave us a 3hr parking pass. We toured the CR, went up to the Cali Grill which was not open as it was lunch time but we were able to get out on the roof. That was neat if you have never done it, great views. After the CR we had time to kill and took the monorail to the Poly and the the GF and walked around each place. We had fun checking out the resorts that after Petty we drove over to the WL too.
