Monorail Driver told us a rumor about Soarin'...

I am a huge fan of Soarin' & changing the movie to showcase different places around the world is such a cool idea! Thanks for sharing! :flower:

The height requirement is 40" I believe (maybe 42), but my 4 year old was able to ride and he wasn't able to ride everything. My favorite part is the pine trees!!! The smell and the river! Love this ride and love the idea of changing it to the world.!!! ::MinnieMo

momofmikey - thanks, I assume you mean the pumpkin picture. It was taken right outside the front gates of the Magic Kingdom!

We just did Soarin' for the first time and it was wonderful! There are warnings for people with a fear of heights and motion sickness (that would be me) but I decided to tough it out. We'll be there in December with my granddaughter and I'd rather freak out next to my husband than with her. So I tried it and LOVED it. The scenes are spectacular and it ends with Disneyland fireworks -- perfect! Can't wait to go again with my little princess!

I'm with you in those types of fear. But, I love Soarin' rode it multiple times in DL. I would love to see them change the WDW one to world pixs. Could you imagine the Swiss Alps?

OT - Is your dog a Basinji (sp)? He or she is beautifull. Do they make good pets for families? If so may have to do some research - looking for a family dog.

Since we are all having fun speculating about it, I wonder what countries they will do? Do you think since it is in Epcot, that they would stick to the countries that are in Epcot? Kind of like "Soarin over Epcot" sort of thing. I know there would be lots of great countries they'd miss out on, but it would still be cool.

Anyway, thought it was an interesting train of thought.

I agree that they should do all the countries inEpcot. I think a nice finish would be to fly around the world showcase, along the monorail line to the CR and onto the MK during Wishes...

That would be cool...........

When we were at WDW in MAy we rode Soarin 12 times  :cool1:

I would love this!

I hope that the attractions isn't closed for too long while they make the transition. We are very vaguely talking about just the kids and I going to WDW in the fall of 2006 or 2007, and riding Soarin is on the tippy-top of our list of MUST-DOS!

I also wonder if they will have all of the Epcot countries in the movie, or if it would be randomly selected countries. I'd like the see the ending be at Walt Disney World instead of Disneyland.

Soarin is such a cool experience!

Hope it's not just a rumor. Even if they didn't film around the world, just all the wonderful sights we have to soar over in this country would be spectacular.

Can think of many places but one place in particular I would love to see in the film is to swoop down over the Disney Magic or Wonder docked at Castaway Cay and then glide over the island itself. What a sight!!!!!!!

I think that's a great idea "Soarin over Epcot". And to add to the speculation, anyone else think this would be great thing for them to bring out for the 25th Anniversary of Epcot?

One of our monorail drivers told us that they were going to run Soarin' as it is for about a year, which is all California scenes, and then they are going to change it to be Soarin' Around the World, with scenes from all over the earth, which would tie in nicely with the Epcot global awareness theme. I hope they do! I loved Soarin' just as it is, but would love to see more of our beautiful planet Earth. As long as they leave the ending to be that of either Disneyland or Disney World. :goodvibes

Cool news, but I mostly had to comment on the princess in your signature! She sure has grown since the last pictures you had in your siggie! She looks stunning in that dress too :goodvibes

Didn't think this one was a rumor. I'm pretty sure I've read in a Disney pubication this is what they are doing.

The ride did so well in CA that they wanted to get it up an running in the world ASAP, so they are using the original CA film until they can get the next film canned.

Should be changed by next summer/fall.

So, we fly over the Thames, around Big Ben...over the channel, to the lovely fiords of Norway, past the Eiffel Tower, over the vineyards, the Black Forest, Berlin, south past Trevi fountain and the Coliseum, over 'Morocco', through China and the Great Wall, Hong Kong, to Japan with Tokyo and Mt. Fugi and home via Mexico and some ancient ruins, then Canada and the Canadian Rockies, Niagra Falls, NYC, then D.C., and end up on Main St. USA and Cinderella Castle...just in time for Wishes. Oh dare to dream. Did I leave out any countries???
