Monorail Drink-A-Thon

The Florida Mall is about 20 min from WDW and it's a wonderful mall. You can look at all the stores at www.simon.com and do a search for the malls in Florida. This mall has Nordstrom, Burdines, Sears, Saks, Dillards & JC Penney as anchors. It's really big.

Another good mall is the Millenia Mall which is about 10 minutes from the Florida Mall (on I-4 go east to Conroy Rd and it's right there). This one is more upscale and has Macy's, Bloomingdale's & Neiman Marcus as anchors.

But don't forget the outlet malls! Premium Outlets is just 10 min away from WDW and it has really good stores.

Decision not made yet...guilt feelings both directions are making it SO hard. DH has in interview Friday..... :wizard: here's hoping! We do have to decide by 12/12 for the room tho...so this torture could possibly continue for another 12 days! :earseek:

Good thoughts gpoing out to your family! I hope the interview goes well ... getting a new job would be a great holiday present! Your DH will have to give ... what? ... 3 weeks notice so you can still go to WDW  .

ctrabada: Yes, things have been quiet. I realized that with 34 days to go before we hit WDW, I am woefully out of shape to perform my LOTW responsibilites. So last Wednesday, I began my training in earnest with about 20 of our good friends. I won't scare anyone with gory details, but anytime you start the night with Guiness, switch to Glenlivet, and then wrap up with Jaegarmeister, the results aren't pretty!

robinb: I'm really impressed with your selections also. I have never tried Laphroig cask strength, but I will now. Sam's is a great place to buy quality spirits.

Wll: Thanks for your trip report. That's one of the things I love about these boards. If I can't be there, then I love to hear about others enjoying themselves at one of my favorite places on earth.

Jim

Finfan- Best of luck to your DH. I feel your pain. I've been interviewing ever since graduating college in May and I hvae to keep waiting to plan vacations, buy a car, get an apt, start my life. It is incredibly frustrating. I just keep telling myself it will get better soon b/c it has to!

This seems like the place to post this...

Does anyone have a copy of the wine list from the Territory Lounge or Artist's Point at the Wilderness Lodge?

Thanks!

If you're looking for a specific wine, why don't you call them? Wine lists are rarely published because they can change more often than a regular menu. Especially for reserve wines.

That's true...but I don't remember the name of the wine I had...I was hoping to see the list to jog my memory...lol...I know it was a Pinot Gris...I just can't for the life of me remember the vineyard! But if I had a copy of the list I could probably figure it out...

I guess that is one of the side effects of drinking the wine before asking what it was...LOL

Another question...

Does anyone know if any of the Disney Bars/Restaurants (Wilderness Lodge, in particular) have a corkage fee if I bring my own wine or champagne?

A group of my friends and I are doing the Disney Marathon and I thought it would be nice to celebrate with a couple special bottles from my collection...any thoughts?

Thanks!

You has some pretty tough questions! I don't know about a corkage fee. Perhaps you can arrange for housekeeping or room service to provide champagne glasses. The lobby area in the WL would be a lovely place to enjoy a nice champagne.

LOL...sorry about that...guess I stumped the panel...any advice would be helpful...

I may be crazy, but you might want to check to make sure they will allow you to drink your own alcohol at their restaurants. Disney is a money making machine and might allow only their alcohol at their restaurants.

Hence the question about the corkage fee...usually the restaurant/bar will have a corkage fee to open the bottles... I'm just trying to get an idea of how much they may charge...

sorry, yes i do understand the whole idea of the corkage fee, but in my area I know there are restaurants that do not permit outside alcohol to be consumed at.

Right...I've been to some restaurants that have and some that haven't...didn't know what Disney's policy was at the resorts...

Actually, someone suggested I call WDW-Dine and ask...I think I might just do that...I'll let you know what I find out...

Thanks!
:D

yes i would reccomend the same thing. and they should also be able to tell you what the corking fee is if you are permitted to bring your own.

LOL, aisleseven...I think your questions may be too "classy" for this group!

If you find out whether or not WDW restaurants will allow you to BYOB, please let us know! And let us know what the corkage fee is! Thanks!

I haven't called yet...but as soon as I do I'll post what I find out!!

Well...I just called WDW-Dine about the corkage fee...

The woman really tried to help me but didn't have much luck...

The only thing she told me for sure was that California Grill would not let me bring in outside wine and she suggested I call Artist's Point directly but did not have a number for me to call...

Bummer...
