Hi all, I have been on a few times umming and ahhrring over wether to book the school week in May, just had a look on Monarch and the flight prices have dropped to £484 from £544 so once again I am tempted. Just wondered tho, if I did want to book this in the next couple of days do you think the prices will stay the same, reduce even more of go up again? My other dilemma is wether to hire a car if we stay at a Disney Hotel, mainly worried how to get from Sanford to the hotel, any advice would be really appreciated, thank you!

TIA, Debs x :)

£484.50 doesn't include your luggage at £40pp & another £18pp to reserve seats. Still cheapest I can see from MAN even with extra fees.
No-one can know which way they will go, if others are tempted to book the price will rise, if no-one books they will drop.
I always want a car even onsite but others manage without. For 1 week rental (approx £100-£150) it will be as cheap as Sanford airport taxis.

Hi Wayne, the total price inc baggage and pre booked seats is £1,627 which is approx £200 cheaper than previous. Its a pity the taxis are so expensive, on this trip we would only be doing the disney parks and village so would not mind using the buses this time, was hoping to try and keep any more costs down, ta for your info again!

Yes thats correct £542.50pp with extras. not cheap but cheapest direct around, indirect similar price but not great times.

Auto Europe have cheapest car i see, £97.38 or £124.75 with tank of gas (& addition driver if required)
After 8.5% Quidco brings prices down to £89.10 or £114.15, probably worth £25 for tha tank of gas.
A taxi will probably be $180-$200 roundtrip + tips. One of the reasons some prefer to fly into MCO and get the free Magical express.

Brill, will have a look as we use Quidco! The dollar rate is really good too at the mo, £1.59 through Tesco, debating wether to get some early spends, really wish I had a crystal ball for everything lol :headache:

Just for a little guidence on the cost of the taxi, It costs us $80 from Sandford to I-Drive last June, so probably like, $100 to WDW?

Cheers Ben, it will be definately be worth getting the car hire if it is that expensive for the taxis, I'm gonna try and hold my breath for a bit and see if I can get the flight prices any cheaper, desperate to go but with tix and spends will still be approx £3,000 for one week :scared1:

Debs x BTW, gonna check my lottery numbers now lol!

no luck on the lottery but just looked at monarch and the flights have come down again now by £120 - don't know what to dooooooo!!!!!!!! :confused3

If you are happy or at least content to pay the price then pay it, you never know, they could shoot up tomorrow and you'll be kicking yourself.

I know, thats the only trouble not knowing! Its for 2 adults and 1 teen staying at Disney but it is in the blinkin school week hence the price lol! I know I'm prob being greedy as we are going in August but really want to go asap, my DD is growing up so fast she leaves school next year so I want to make the most of everything (thats my excuse anyways) lol

Hi Debs, have you considered booking car rental just for the day you need to get from the aiport to your hotel and the same for the day you leave?

There are car rental companies in Downtown Disney where you could drop off the car after you get to the hotel and then pick one up to get back to Sanford on your last day.

We are doing this as we are flying into Tampa this year but don't need the car for the entire duration on our trip.

Regarding the flights, if you are tempted to book then book! I have heard of others who were temped but waited to see if the price dropped more only to see them increase sharply and could no longer afford it! By waiting you also run the risk of the flight being sold out which is very likely if you are travelling peak season!

Hope this helps! :)

Thanks Simon, I will see how much the car rental works out, never thought of doing it that way! :thumbsup2 I am due to leave for work in 1/2 hour so do you know if the prices can change during the day if I chance booking it when I come home approx 9.00pm tonignt? The flight prices are now showing at £444.50pp plus luggage and pre book seats!

Had a quick look at one way rentals, prices look to be about £25 each way with no fuel. So about £65-70 more to keep for the week & a tank of gas included. Worth every penny to me but we prefer to eat offsite.
You also need to check each rental, some have it in T&C's you have to buy a tank of gas, this would make it no cheaper than keeping for the week. I rented from Expedia/Alamo, their T&C's say you have to buy a tank, its cheaper than Hess so no worries for me but it would be for a 1 day rental when you won't use it.

Thanks Wayne, you save me doing a lot of searching lol! Just need to make the decision now if to book, mega headache! My DH is tearing his hair out (what hair he has left) :rotfl2:

Wayne? Are you there my holiday guru??? :rotfl2:

Or of course any of my helpful fellow disers!

Just checked Monarch again out of interest and the prices have come down again - now £404.50 (works out at £462 inc supplements). Do you think this is a good price and would I be silly to hold out any longer :confused3. Just a reminder this is for the school week in May :thumbsup2

I checked earlier today and they were same as yesterday so they dropped after I checked.
For a school hoiday I can't believe they still have availabilty. Manchester is not the cheapest airport and direct flights, didn't expect them to drop so far so who knows, maybe they still have a lot of seats to shift. Total gamble, if you are happy book, if you want to risk not going or getting a bargain then wait.

Hi Wayne, that is what I am surprised at with the date, they only fly on a friday (I think) so I thought it would be booked up or mega high prices too, honestly you would laugh at me, I have been on the payment page with my card in my hand so many times thinking, maybe check one more time tomorrow :rotfl2: Last year I booked the package through Cosmos and if you look for prices same date with the hotel it is £700 more than DIY, madness!

Heyo, I've gone and done it (yes at last lol), got to thinking with it now being weekend might get booked up more so didn't want to chance losing it, just really need to not look anymore! For the hotel, tix and car hire was wondering if to book it all through Disney and quidco, the hotel works out at just £28 more than C/O so can get the magical extras, also can use my Tesco credit card and get the clubcard points as well!

I would use Disney if CO are only £28 cheaper.

I would have to keep checking every few days to see if I was right or wrong to book:rotfl:

Lol, I might cry through all the tension :rotfl2: really tho, think I am quite happy with that price, just better not start looking at next year or my DH might actually commit a crime :rotfl: I will sort Disney out tomorrow now, don't think I can take much more tonight, my eyes are getting blurry and my little yorkie poppy is snoring a bit loud now, need to send her to bed

Thank you so so much for your invaluable info, can chill out and start planning now! :yay:
