Well, this was one great trip! :cool1:

This was the first all girls trip I've taken to WDW, going for 8 days with my Dsis and Dniece (11). We stayed 3 nights at the YC and 4 nights at SSR, used the DDP and had a fabulous time! :cloud9:

We arrived at MCO at 5:30pm on Friday, July 7, got our bags, which took forever this trip, hopped in our towncar, made a grocery stop, dealt with a car accident on the way to WDW, but happily arrived at YC and were checking in around 7pm. And this is where the pixiedust: begins....

Dsis made the ressies for this part of the trip and had requested a NS room (medical...I've got asthma), std view. When we checked in the CM told us we'd been upgraded to :wizard: concierge!!! :cheer2: Well, since this was our first time with concierge we were very pleased, but after our time there, we decided that it's a nice perk, but not one we really wanted to pay for in the future. We didn't find many perks offered that we would really use and to get the full benefit of the many snacks throughout the day, we just wouldn't do it since we like to be out and about in the parks. It was a very nice treat though! :)

The first night I'd left some :tinker: gifts for Dniece, who thought concierge had done it and wanted to stay there all the time, but then figured out it was me and rewarded me with the biggest hug!

We enjoyed a couple of days at Stormalong Bay, which as everyone at the DIS knows is absolutely the best pool on WDW property! We had a great time just floating along in the lazy river. :woohoo:

We spent our first few days at Epcot and MGM and enjoyed meals at Sunshine Seasons, Teppenyaki, ABC Commissary and Coral Reef. On Monday, July 10 we switched to SSR, where we had a studio in the Springs, which wans't ready when we checked in so we headed to DD for some shopping and lunch at Earl of Sandwich. We got into our room around 2pm and then headed out to Planet Hollywood for dinner then a trip to MK. pirate: We got on POTC in about 20 minutes and loved it! We enjoyed Wishes and Spectromagic and a few rides before we left.

Tuesday we slept in a bit then headed to MK and got rained out so hopped the monorail to the CR for some shopping and then on to our Afternoon Tea at GF. This was a very nice time...just us girls sipping tea and enjoying the view. Dneice was absolutely surprised when the CM brought over her Slipper Dessert...wanted to know if everyone got it...lol Her mom told her that I had arranged it for her and she was so happy...must have said thank you a dozen times. After tea we headed back to SSR, Dniece and I went to the pool for a bit while Dsis rested in the room. Had a light meal at Artist Palette and then headed over to DD for La Nouba. I'd seen it in 2003, but they hadn't...they were both blown away with the show. I got some great seats with my DVC discount...sect. 101, last row (10th), right in the middle. Dniece asked me how I got such great seats...told her I've got magical connections. ;) Afterward, we decided to walk back to SSR using the path from Westside...a very nice walk along the lake at a leisurely pace took about 15 mins. It was too funny though...Dniece kept singing "La Nouba, La Nouba, La Nouba...I wanna go back to La Nouba." Which was what she said the rest of the week. I am so glad she loved it and had such a great time! :thumbsup2

Wednesday we headed to AK, grabbed a fastpass for EE, ate at Flame Tree BBQ...BOY! Is that good food! Did Dinosaur, Primevil Whirl, Tough to Be a Bug and then got hit by one of those great Florida downpours just as we headed to EE...no luck! We had to be back at SSR by 2:30 for Dniece and Dsis to be at the spa, which they loved then got dressed and went to California Grill for dinner at 8...yep! took long enough that as we were finishing up our dessert we got to watch Wishes...just as lovely as everyone says! :thumbsup2

Thursday we decided to head back to AK...we had to ride EE! We got lucky and they honored our FP from the day before...Dniece loved EE, Dsis didn't care for it at all...she gets motion sick and did it without any dramamine and wished she hadn't. I have motion sickness issues also, but did okay...it was the backward part that got us both, but honestly, I just wasn't as impressed with EE as I thought I would be...guess I'd just gotten too hyped up about it. So, with mission accomplished we headed to Epcot again. We visited the last of the countries we hadn't seen yet, grabbed a bite in Germany and as we were finishing up...downpour again, so we headed back to SSR. We had dinner at Flying Fish, which is now Dniece's favorite place...said she'll never eat at Coral Reef again. Dsis was impressed with it as well. We were able to sit at the chef's table and watch the kitchen...just like the last time I was there with DH and DS...and we had the same CM, Larry. He's great! :thumbsup2 Since it was EMH at Epcot we headed back in to do a couple things we'd missed earlier and did some more shopping.

Friday...last day :sad1: But we made the most of it! Got everything packed, checked out, and headed to MK, where we grabbed lunch at Cosmic Rays...quite good and for another ride on POTC! It was a 30 mins. wait and again we loved it! We wanted to ride Splash Mountain, but it had a 100 minute wait...watched Share A Dream, had one last Dole Whip float and headed back to SSR for a light dinner and to grab the bags. Our towncar was right on time and we made it to MCO with plenty of time...had no problem getting through security...about 5 - 10 mins. and had a good flight home, arriving on time at 8:10pm. The worst part of the trip was next for me...a 2 hour drive home after I dropped off Dsis and Dniece.

Overall, this was a great trip! It was the 6th trip for all of us and we all know that we will be going back again, so we didn't rush and if something had a long wait time and the FP times didn't work for us, ah, so what! :goodvibes We were just there to have a good time, which we did! We were able to shop, look around at things we'd maybe missed before...like does anyone else remember the ship behind the American Gardens? :confused3 Dsis and I both don't remember a ship being docked behind on the lake. We had some great meals and one that wasn't so great, but we didn't let it mar the trip. It was brought to the attention of a manager and dealt with accordingly. Dniece said this was her best trip ever and I'm glad. I got such a thrill out of her expressions with every special little thing...so great to see the magic thru her eyes! I think we may be taking more girls trip in the future...Dniece is already said she wants to go to DL Paris, Tokyo and Hong Kong, but Paris is on the top. Yep, she's definitely related to me!

Well, I have photos...nothing super this trip and only about 50 shots, which is about 200 less than I usually take. DH said he guesses that I really was having a great time. :rolleyes1

Any questions? I'd be happy to answer what I can.

I did a trip with my sister and our families and did the same thing!!! I had such a great time but wish I had more photos to look back on!! I love taking pics and luckily get another chance when we all go again next Feb.

Thanks for the report - it sounded like a great trip!!

Did you notice any predictable pattern to the rain? We are hoping to go back to the resort about 2 PM each day and stay there until about 6 PM, then go to dinner about 7 PM. All of our dinner ADRs are between 6-7 PM. I used to live in Tampa and it rained every day at 4 PM, so I am wondering if Orlando storms are similar or if they pop up at all hours? We have plenty of ponchos but I am not a fan of being rained on!
