Moms to be Part 4

Hi, everyone!

I just had a question for you all. I figure I might as well start the process of packing my bag for the hospital. I've printed one of those basic lists from a website, but was wondering if any of you had any suggestions.

All advice is welcome! :goodvibes

Hi TarzansKat! I am thinking about your bag! I have done this twice, so I should be old hat, but the last time was 7 years ago...lol!

I would bring a book, some mints/gum/candy to keep your mouth moist, your regular toiletries, and lots of ponytail holders for your hair! For your DH, take some antacids, headache medicine and cold medicine! My DH had a cold when I was in labor with #2, so when he went home to let out the dogs when I was in labor about 12 hours, he took NYQUIL...ugh...he slept on and off throught the next 12 hours of my labor...I kept throwing things at him to wake him up when I had a contraction:rotfl: I guess my point is to be be prepared for your older baby while getting ready for your little baby!!!

I feel the same way! I've done this before, but my first is five years old, so I sort of know what I brought, but can't really remember! :lmao:

OMG, that is too funny.:rotfl2: You know what I thought of as well? On the off chance that we can't get someone to watch DS and DH and he end up spending some time in the waiting room while I'm in labor, I thought I should have a bag of stuff for DS. Maybe some books, coloring books, his Leapster, snacks, just a general bag to keep packed on the off chance he has to be at the hospital for any length of time.

The bag of tricks for DS is a great idea! I believe that I will be having a scheduled c-section so there will be no need to pack a bag for my kids...ugh...I would love to just be able to go into labor. I was able to with the older 2, and then finally HAD to have sections, but I would really love to have a regular delivery!!!

I don't know why, but I have a big fear of c-sections...I think it's just the surgical aspect of it that scares me, and the recovery time.

Of course, sometimes we don't get a choice, but I was so pleased to be able to have my first DS the "regular" way.

I'm just sort of at a loss for who will be with my DS. If I go into labor on a day my dad is off, then that's an easy fix. My mom was my go to person for that...actually, they had really specific plans, he was going to sleep over, they were going to bake birthday cupcakes for the baby (more for DS than baby ;)), so without her, I'm trying to figure out who can really help us with him.

My biggest worry, truthfully, is that I'll have to go through it alone, but hopefully that won't happen.

Well, I'm having the RCS, so I don't have things for labor, but here's my list after searching a million other lists.

shampoo/conditioner
lotion
lansinoh (lanolin cream for bfeeding)
toothbrush/paste
facial soap
deodorant
lip balm
hair ties
comb/brush
slippers
button down nightshirts- long enough that I don't have to wear bottoms
underpants (old ones)
clothes for coming home (I'm bringing a blue knit maternity dress)
swimsuit for DH (he'll probably have to help me in the shower)
baby outfit for coming home (socks and swaddling blanket too)
nursing bras
breast leak pads
camera
laptop
phone
kindle
checkbook
gift for DD from DS

I'm a little bit of a minimalist, so this list even seems a little too comprehensive in the entertainment dept to me, but I really don't want to be bored when DH isn't around. I just have to remember all the jillion chargers to go with all those electronics! ;)

I'm taking....

toothbrush/toothpaste
body wash
chapstick
hair ties
laptop/charger
camera/charger
coming home outfit for Owen (and socks, mittens, etc. for him to wear in the hospital)
baby book (for them to put his footprints in)
maybe a book or a magazine.

I didn't ever read my book with DS1 but I'm going to stay an extra day this time so I might want it. I'll probably pack a few toys for when DS1 and DH come to see me at night, I know DH won't think about it so it's probably good for me to just have stuff there. I'm staying the max my insurance will pay so DH has to take less leave with me at home. :)

TarzansKat...Good for you for packing a bag! With DS, my water broke at 35w6d and I had no bag packed so we were scrambling!! That was 7 years ago, but I do remember not being prepared for the bleeding afterwards. The pads the hospital gave me were so big and bulky, I'll definitely be packing my own this time around!

I haven't updated in awhile so I figured I probably should. I had my 35 week appointment yesterday and Squirt is still head down, with her body going up my left side, which explains the excruciating rib pain I had last night on my left side when I was laying down (ya know, trying to sleep!). As long as I'm upright, no problem but I just want to lay down and sleep!

I'm starting to have trouble lying down to sleep too, but more because I feel a tightness in my chest.

But then I asked DH if he thought I'd keep pushing back the reveal after every appointment, and pointed out our new child would be 14 and I"d still be denying it. LOL! Unfortunately, I think he's right! :upsidedow So I decided to go ahead and take the plunge. DS has come up with the funniest questions, so I'm glad we told him.

How cute! What kind of questions is your DS asking? How old is he again?

I'm working today, but it is my last day!:banana::banana:

They'll be starting story hour at the library again soon, and I'm so excited to be able to take my son to that, make some playdates, maybe even do a few short day trips before baby arrives.

Yay - enjoy your maternity leave! Your plans for spending with DS sound great. Sometimes I feel like I am missing out on something with my DS by working full time and not being able to do any of that very often.....

Oh no! I would be more than just throwing stuff at my DH if that happened! Men can be such babies when they have a cold!

Everything always seems to work out in the end, hopefully someone will be there so you won't be there alone with DS!

We've had a pretty good weekend so far. Saturday I took my mom out to lunch for her b-day, she's been wanting Famous Dave's for awhile and a new one just opened by my house, then we went shopping at Macy's and Target to check out the baby sales and clearances! My mom got 4 adorable outfits at Macy's for $26 total, that originally cost at least $30 each! :thumbsup2 And tons of baby stuff is on clearance at Target. I went to one on Friday that just had a few things, then we went to a Super Target on Saturday and almost every carseat in the store was on clearance! Too bad we don't need one right now...

Then yesterday we went to a bbq/pool party and DS put his face in the water and even practiced kicking! Big improvements for a kid that wouldn't come off the steps earlier in the day! :woohoo:

I hope everyone else is having a great holiday weekend!

How cute! What kind of questions is your DS asking? How old is he again?

DS just turned 7 on July 2nd. :) He has asked which room the baby will have. When the baby will come out. When we find out if it's a boy or a girl (He wants a brother!). When do we put the crib up. We just put all of the baby stuff up in the attic maybe a 2 or 3 months ago. LOL! Maybe I should have done that sooner. ;) He hasn't asked me any questions about how the baby got into my tummy, but that may come later when I actually start showing. I need to start preparing my answer!

VETTECHICK: Thanks for the welcome! I'm much more excited to be on this thread with you than the TTC one!!

We had a nice weekend. I actually talked a bit about the pregnancy with everyone at my SIL's house (she BBQ'd). It was fun, so I'm glad DH talked me into telling everyone. I'm still waiting to tell my work until I'm further along. I'm thinking after the end of the month, then I'll be past 12 weeks.

Yes, this thread is much more exciting to be on. Although I'm a bit ready to be done with it - time for Baby G to get the heck out!

We waited until 9w both times to tell people - til we had our 2nd US and saw that all was well. The first time it was hard at first to keep quiet, and then we didn't want to tell anyone. It was our secret. :cloud9: The second time I started showing almost immediately. I had to tell work when I returned from my Christmas break because it was so obvious. Friends learned at the same time - this town is so small, once one person knows, they all know.

I have to share what I just bought Baby G on etsy:

il_430xN.145593573.jpg

I want her to wear it for her going home outfit (along with a onesie I'm guessing). I have had a hard time finding a cute newborn outfit that wouldn't make her look like a linebacker (we had that issue with Scooner - all her pictures stink). Isn't it the cutest??

I'm also trying to decide on a diaper bag. I'm almost positive I want to get a Ju Ju Be Packabe backpack instead of a messenger bag or tote. I hate digging! But $120 for a diaper bag is crazy! What have you guys decided on?

I'm getting a Skip Hop. I think it'll be the Duo Double, but I really want to look at them before I buy. I'm heading to a buybuyBaby next Monday with a friend and I have a 20% off coupon... so hopefully I can find 'the one' there and get it.

Thanks to both of you for posting your lists! They're pretty much the same as what I have, but I think it's always helpful to confer with other people. I have way too much pregnancy brain going on lately to think that I'll remember everything. :lmao:

You know what's funny? A lot of the online lists I checked out said to bring your own underwear for after, but I was one of those who loved the stretchy mesh undies from the hospital, so I'm only packing a pair to go home in. The pads are a whole other story. :lmao:

Yay - enjoy your maternity leave! Your plans for spending with DS sound great. Sometimes I feel like I am missing out on something with my DS by working full time and not being able to do any of that very often.....

Thank you.

And

We all do the best we can, and everyone's situation is different. I know what you mean about feeling like "missing out" because when my DS was little, and before I decided not to go back to work, I said to my mom, but what if I'm not there when he does this, or this, and my mom, oh wise woman that she was, said, "I'd never tell you." She was such a sweetheart that if she saw a first, she wouldn't let it on, and let us have the "first." Oddly enough, it ended up being that most of the first were with me and her watching, since I did stay home for a year, so that worked out I guess! :lmao:

Everything always seems to work out in the end, hopefully someone will be there so you won't be there alone with DS!

I'm fairly certain I'm being paranoid, but it does worry me.

You reminded me, I must post pictures later!

When my mom was still with us, I had taken to calling the baby my little monkey. I couldn't get over all the cute monkey themed clothes, the little onesies that said bananas over mommy and things like that. Well, as it turns out, in addition to having a special luncheon planned that was meant to be monkey themed, my mother had custom ordered some bibs of two different sizes, and a diaper bag (from Etsy or Ebay, not sure) with this wonderful monkey pattern on it. I absolutely love it, and was so tickled when my nana gave me the diaper bag this weekend. Just really reiterates how thoughtful my mom was and how she would always make things extra special. I'm so in love with this diaper bag, I'll try to get a post up later and I can't believe that it's homemade! :goodvibes

Well, I guess I'm ready to join this thread. I'm still a nervous wreck and afraid that something is going to go wrong, but we finally told our parents and DS today, so I figure I'll join on here, too.

I've been a member of the TTC thread here on the DIS since May of 2006. I was diagnosed with insulin resistance and DH had some sperm issues as well. Last year we did 3 Clomid IUI's with no luck. In November, we went to the RE and was told our next step would be IUI with injectible fertility meds. We had a big WDW/DCL trip planned for June to celebrate our 10th anniversary, so we decided to take a break from TTC until after our trip.

AF was scheduled to arrive during our trip, so I was SO mad. My biggest concern was that AF would arrive on our Castaway Cay day! Well, AF never showed up during our trip. The night we got back from our trip, I took a HPT and a beautiful dark BFP popped up right away!!

Due to our history, I had an ultrasound 2 weeks ago and everything looked good. I had a second ultrasound today and everything looks good. :) I'm measuring 8.2 weeks, but based on my LMP I should be 9 weeks. We are keeping my due date as if I'm 9 weeks, even though I think 8.2 is more accurate since I usually O late. But I'll stick with 9 weeks. :) I was 6.2 weeks two weeks ago, so I'm growing on track. :)

Sorry, this is a rambling post, but I've been so nervous about everything since it's taken us so long for this to happen. But I know being worried and googling every little thing isn't good so I'm trying to accept that I'm pregnant and enjoy it. :)

OMG!! Welcome!! Yayyyyyyyyy!! (I gotta find that list...so I can add you!)

all was well with the little guy at the drs today. he is firmly in place head down, but dr said looking at my cervical length there is almost zero chance of ds being born in the next week or so, but they can't tell beyond that. he doesn't want me back for 2 weeks and gave me a perscription for if the bh contractions get really bad. I feel better after the exam. well, physically the exact same but now not so worried. dr was really nice and said he would rather check than have me worry myself like that or wait until it was too late.
Phew... that's a relief! Not yet, little one! :)

Congrats and welcome!!! I am a total worry wart and one thing I decided to stop doing was to use google for pregnancy. Actually, I don't even get the babycenter etc emails giving you updates week by week because it was too much for me.....ignorance is bliss sometimes ;)

*********
DH and I went to BRU for a double stroller but came away with nothing. The sit and stand will not work for our infant carrier (Chicco) because the Chicco does not snap in and there did not seem to be enough room for DD to sit if the infant carrier was in place. Anyone have any good recommendations???

I think the Baby Joggers have a specific Chicco car seat adapter, but they're a little on the expensive side...

Welcome, skuttle! :)

We decided to flea treat our carpets last night (being overly cautious, got a phone call that fleas were found on a dog that was in our house a few weeks ago) and DH put the flea powder down in the hallway outside the nursery and essentially trapped us in the nursery while it sat. We put the time to good use and got the wall stickers up, the furniture arranged how we wanted it, etc... It's looking so good in there! I'm eager to finish it but I need to get stuff ready for the 4th so I'm avoiding it.. I know the cuteness will suck me in and before I know it I'll lose the whole day.
We moved the glider out of DS1's room and into the nursery, too. It was a bit of a sad moment for me and I know he was confused. He kept hugging the foot stool and trying to crawl into my lap, haha.

I still haven't gone through all the clothes from DS1... My MIL asked to come spend a few days with us and help me so I was saving some jobs (like the clothes) for her and she has now bailed. I didn't realize how close I was getting until everyone yesterday told me they don't think I'll even make it to 39 weeks (which they all said about DS1, too, and I did)... less than 8 weeks! Eeek!

We also still have no middle name. My mother keeps hinting to me that my dad's family always re-used their middle names (so my dad has the same middle name as an uncle or something) and how no one has used his middle name. While I'm not against that, I don't want to cause family issues with DH's family because DS1's middle name is my brother's name.
Then again, we were going to use my MIL's last name (she went back to her maiden name) as Owen's middle name and she told us she didn't like it. :headache: That just irritated DH to no end so we're back at square 1 again... :sad2:

Sorry for my rambling book!

I hope everyone has a great 4th and eats lots of delicious, yummy foods!!

YOu have SO SO SO much done compared to us! :scared1:

We didn't do much for the 4th, we stayed inside and then went to our favorite Mexican restaurant... which was closed! Crap! SO we went to another not-so-great Mexican restaurant and Target. LOL.

While on the subject of naming if my DH does not get on board with the name DD and I have picked for the baby I'm going to scream! He doesn't have any names he likes or wants to use...he just doesn't like the one we picked. Well the name we picked is a combination of his first and middle names and the baby would be named after him that way. (DD's middle name is my middle name, my mom's middle name, my grandma's middle name....you get the picture) It's important to me and I LOVE the name I came up with too.

This weekend we will be spending time building a storage shed to get some crap out of our house so we can finish some spaces that currently just house "stuff" and make our tiny house more user-friendly. But it will be a LONG weekend for me I know. Last weekend we spend Saturday working and I really felt it Sunday and I plan on hopefully accomplishing more this weekend. We currently have a backporch that is partially finished, but we need to finish the drywall, electric, lighting and get flooring put down. It just stores stuff though so we have to pull everything out to work on it and after last weekend I told DH that we just had to either rent a storage or go ahead and build the storage building we had been talking about building forever because it was such a waste of time to have to unload the room and then load it back up when we were done. We are making it into an eating area/playroom and then there is a large closet and the laundry room back there too. The eating area/playroom will be about 10X12 - so not big, but it will make it much more realistic having them share a bedroom if it's only for sleeping and dressing (although I will probably keep a bookcase in their room if I can make it fit for books for bedtime). Once we get that area done we need to finish out some cabinets in our kitchen (and refinish them all) and put in new countertops and new tile down. Then we will be putting in new tile in our entryway. So we are going to be very busy the next few months. I hope we are able to get most of it done before the baby gets here. We are doing it all to make it better for us, but also to make it more appealing for sale. We need a bigger house and will be building one, but it will probably be early spring or next summer now (at the earliest). That is if we are able to sell our house for more than we currently owe on it. Otherwise we will manage in it as long as necessary.

Wow....I just wrote a book...sorry to be so longwinded. I hope everyone has fun holiday plans (we do have fun planned for this weekend in addition to all the work) and be safe!

Holy home improvement, Batman! If I had to rely on DH to do all that, it wouldn't get done, lol. Ah well.

What did he say about the middle name? Did he like it?

I haven't updated in awhile so I figured I probably should. I had my 35 week appointment yesterday and Squirt is still head down, with her body going up my left side, which explains the excruciating rib pain I had last night on my left side when I was laying down (ya know, trying to sleep!). As long as I'm upright, no problem but I just want to lay down and sleep! I'm still measuring right on and next week is "the labor talk" and gbs test appointment. The nursery is finallly almost finished now to just finish cleaning/organizing the rest of the apartment! And I did finally end up with the Dooney and Bourke diaper bag I wanted (my mommy bought it for me at the outlet!) so now we just need a "dad bag" for DH (he's not fond of my Petunia Pickle Bottom bag either!). I think that's all I've got for now. Hard to believe only about 5 more weeks to go!!

Ohhh you're getting so close! Why don't you get one of the "Diaper Dude" bags for your DH? I was going to get one (I'm a little more on the tomboy side) but then I found this JJCole one for $39... I couldn't pass it up.

Thanks so much for the warm welcome. So many of you are in the home stretch! Hopefully I'll feel okay putting a ticker in my signature soon. LOL!

I've tried to stop googling everything, because I know only the bad stuff gets put on the internet. The good stuff...people never write about that! I originally was going to wait to tell our parents/DS until after my next appointment, which is June 9th.

My first real OB appointment is next Friday. I haven't seen my Dr yet...just had viability ultrasounds. I'll be 10 weeks and she should be able to hear the heartbeat with the doppler. I did hear it yesterday with the ultrasound. I had forgotten what a wonderful sound that is. :goodvibes

lspst8: My due date is February 3rd, so it looks like we'll be going through this together! With our DS, DH and I were clueless. I never did the baby sitting thing and never cared for babies. DS was the first diaper either of us had ever changed. Also, only the 2nd baby I had ever held. I was 24 when he was born! He made it ok and is now a great kid...talks too much in class, but is still a great kid. ;)

That's so exciting!! Oh, and if you don't hear the HB at 10 weeks with the doppler, don't panic. I don't think I heard ours until at least 14 weeks! Trust me on that one-- you don't always hear it early. I was panicked for about a month afterward... Thank goodness for ultrasounds!

Skuttle: So glad to see you over here! Congratulations!

Tarzanskat: Love the story about the diaper bag etc.

Pollito: That is why I am trying to decide exactly what to do with my job. I have been searching for a new position, but part of me thinks I should wait a few months before being aggressive about it again (obviously I've backed off on it since being pregnant). I am WAY overqualified for this job and have issues with pay/benefits etc., but it is really flexible and I will be able to bring DS with me and also get to spend a lot of time with DH because of my schedule and flexibility. I wanted to quit after he was born (which I could, we have saved enough, but why if it works out to bring him with me?) but now I am thinking maybe look for something that starts once he is a few months old instead so I can spend more of that early time with him. He may be our only child (still very up in the air on that) so I would hate to miss out on too much.

We spent the whole weekend working on the house, again. I wanted the lever-style handles on the door to DS's room. They wouldn't fit on our interior doors, so we got all new doors (needed them anyway, ours were old and gross), painted them, then needed new trim in the hallway, which meant we had to paint the trim in the living room, which led to painting the walls and celings as well (I mostly supervised...I just painted the doors and touched up a wall)...ugh, I am exhausted!

I washed, sorted by size and function, and folded or hung all of DS's clothes yesterday. Wow, he has a lot of stuff already! I told DH no more until he is born! I also did all the sheets, towels, bibs, cloths, covers, you know, anything that will touch him. I still have to put some stuff back together but I'll be happy to be done with that (for now, my "surprise" shower is on Saturday so I may have more to do then! I still need to wipe down all of our gear and such (the plastic or metal parts) and unwrap a few things, see what we get at our shower and finish off the registry necessities, clean the floor one more time, pack my hospital bag and pick a going home outfit, and we'll be as ready as we're going to get!

I was going to pack a newborn and a 0-3 month outfit for his going home outfit since we don't know how big he'll be (hopefully he will fit in the newborn outfit!). This is the only thing DH has been unhelpful on in the whole process. He says he does not care, but usually when he says that he really does care...grrr...IDK what to pick either. I am torn between two really cute onesies for the NB size, and I haven't even looked at the 0-3 month size yet!

Have a great day everyone!

Hi Everyone -- I just wanted to introduce myself and join in the group! My name is Lauren, and I'm pregnant with my first baby. I'm due on February 4. I just had my first doctor's appointment yesterday, and she said that everything looks good. My husband and I have basically no experience with babies (although I do know a little bit more than he does -- he thought babies started to crawl when they were about 2 weeks old )!

I'm pretty lucky in that I really haven't had any morning sickness, but I am exhausted at all times. I've cut back my work schedule to 32 hours a week for at least the next month because I've been so tired. Yesterday I took a 2 hour nap in the afternoon after my appointment and still went to bed at 8:40! My hour commute to work doesn't help at all, but luckily the supervisors here have been so nice.

Anyways, I've been lurking for a few weeks, but I didn't want t join until I had my doctor's appointment. Everyone seems so helpful and non-alarmist:goodvibes. I looked at some other message boards, but they either seemed scary and full of doom or filled with teen moms. I'm sure I'll have tons of questions in the coming months.

Hi!! Welcome!! :cloud9: Congrats!!

Didn't get to schedule my RCS. My OB had a death in her family so I saw the NP again. July 15th is the date to schedule now.

Sorta disappointing though I don't think I'll have any issue getting the morning that I want.

I didn't get to schedule mine yet, and it's driving me *crazy*...

Uhhhh..... I'm not sure how good of an idea staying home alone was. All I've done is eat all day. Cereal, giant fruit and yogurt smoothie. Then for lunch tortilla chips with melted cheese on them plus red & yellow bell peppers w/ blue cheese dressing, and now ice cream. :rotfl: Good god, I'm gonna gain another 10 lbs.

Haha... welcome to the club. All I do is nibble!

My u/s went well. Baby is head down and appears to be about 4.5 lbs! My fluid level is on the low side of normal so they are repeating the u/s this Wed. I hope and pray it does not drop. I had the same problem with DD, but it was discovered later in the pregnancy and I was induced at 38 weeks. I am almost 33 weeks right now so I am really hoping that I don't get put on bed rest. Of course there are worse things but I have no idea how I will manage an active 3 yr old!!!

I had to go to L&D Friday night for some ctx, and I was terrified they were going to put me on bedrest... bedrest + 3 year old = yeah, right!

Odd that you should say that, because I just basically decided that I'm done.

I'm going to work the rest of this week, but when I go in for my NST at the doc's office tomorrow, I'm having them fill out my FMLA paperwork and date for my next date of work (next week) which is Tuesday. I'll work Friday and Saturday, but that's it, it's time...

TK has left the building. :lmao:

Yeaaaaaa!!! :cool1:

Last night DH was so funny. I don't know what brought it on, but he was "prepping" DS for any future boyfriends DD may have and how it will be his responsibility to "handle" the boys. :rotfl2: We still have 2 months to go before she is born, much less how long it will be before she has her first boyfriend!

Haha that's so cute!

*snip*

Thanks - and I am jealous of you keeping the extra bra size! I went from a D at the beginning, up to big DD, then down to an A (!) then leveled out at a C over the last 10 years. I have spent more money on bras. Now I am worried it is going to happen all over again - it already is!

Oh, I was at Target today and they have a whole rack of the Carter's Just One Year summer baby clothes on clearance. They had a ton of boy & girl stuff, and still a great selection of sizes. I got a little onesie ruffly dress thing for next summer for $3.49. Very cute!

I wish our Target had all that great stuff... just some things that were barely marked down. Booo.

That reminds me, I need some new bras. Badly.

Lucas was 9lbs 5oz and the 0-3m onesie was massive on him. I was weird, I didn't want him to wear it again so after the hospital I put it in his keepsake box to hang on to. So I bought a newborn outfit for Owen. :thumbsup2
DH picked out Lucas' outfit so I got to pick Owens... it's an outfit from Carter's that says 'Mommy's Little Monster' and I got a little stuffed monster to go with it. I just thought it was cute. :lovestruc

Someone, on the 4th, suggested Owen Thomas as his name. DH is now befuddled. I told him he gets to pick. I have veto power but I don't hate any of the 3 he is torn between, so it's absolutely up to him. DS1's middle name is my brother's name so I thought it would be nice for DH to pick Owens but he is so stuck!
DH is Thomas, his dad was Thomas, his grandpa was Thomas, etc. and he hated it growing up (it was their first name, though). He hated his Dad. He said he didn't want to pass the name but I think he's realizing now that it's passing HIS name, not necessarily his father's. So he's stuck!
He's torn between::
Owen Thomas
Owen Alexander
Owen Walter

None of which I hate, so he's having a heck of a time.

Lauren and Skuttle, welcome! I like this thread a lot, the people are very friendly and helpful!:grouphug:

Good Luck!!!

:rotfl: I think I would have been finding hard, heavy things to throw at him! I am in the same boat - can't even remember packing a bag the last two times cause its been so long.

I'm sure it will work out, but I don't blame you for worrying. I think it is great that you have such good memories of your mom, and that you were able to spend so much time with her. What a blessing as you deal with all of it.

I'm glad you reminded me of that - they were horrible! I so want to be able to wear my own jammies this time, and you just can't with those monsters (at least I couldn't).

Wow - busy weekend! I love the feeling at the end of the weekend when so much is done. My DH is totally the same about saying he doesn't care about something... I have to play detective to figure out what he really does want. "What do you want for dinner? I don't care. OK, how about Mexican. Well, not that..." Arrgh.

I wish our Target had all that great stuff... just some things that were barely marked down. Booo.

Bummer - maybe I got lucky cause our Target is remodeling (yay for Target groceries :goodvibes). I need new bras - again - too, and I just don't want to deal with it. I think I may just get some nursing bras so I can use them on the way back down, too!

I like all of those names - that would be a hard choice!

I must have crossed the line from looking overweight to pregnant over the weekend, because 3 people today (in stores and stuff) asked me when I am due right off the bat. All men - very brave of them! One of them kept saying "That's so great!" like he had never seen a pregnant person before - it was weird! And another one sat between me & my friends on the couch at the coffeeshop! I had to insist he trade places with me so I could still talk to my friends. People can be so strange!

I feel like we got a start on the baby's room over the weekend, although we actually didn't. But DH did put a new floor in our older kids' room, and a toy storage system (I am in love) and new dressers and a closet organizer. He is going to finish it next weekend, then we can move them in, which will free up the baby's room to be - a baby's room! I am so happy to have a place for all of their stuff finally. I have been moving it from place to place forever and could never fit it all. What a relief! Plus I ordered fabric for the baby's room. It felt so strange to be ordering something pink :cloud9:.

I am very lucky that she got to spend so much time with my five year old as he was growing, and while I lament the loss for this baby, I do feel blessed that my older son will remember her. :goodvibes

How exciting! I love hearing about everyone organizing rooms. For now, our new little guy will be in our bedroom, but we've rearranged all our furniture to accomodate the crib, and I've started setting up a changing area and it's really looking like we're bringing a baby home! :goodvibes
