I called the doctor's office today to set up appointments and this doctor does it different than my doctor I used with my son. Apparently, I'll meet with the nurse for all the tests @ 10 weeks and then the doctor @ 12 weeks. Last time around, they got me in as soon as possible...beats me.
Every dr is different. My last OB wouldn't see anyone until 12 weeks, unless there was a medical need for a sooner appt. My current OB wanted to see me as soon as I called, which was 4 weeks and 1 day!
Seems like too much work, but we are going to Hawaii in a few weeks, no kids except the one in my belly (for the first time ever), and I'd like to have something that's at least cute and maybe a little hot looking for that (and that keeps me cool in the humidity).
Have fun in Hawaii - I'm so jealous!
Oh I'm in love with my B's! I am going to be super sad when they are gone. May have to get manufactured ones.
That was one of the things I was happiest with after my last pregnancy - even though I lost all the weight, I got to keep an extra bra size!
Thanks for the kind words - Danielle's heart beat is going strong - doctor thinks i will feel her this week (although I have been thinking that for weeks). I have tried juice and sweets to get her moving.....I do feel much better having heard her HB yesterday and in 2 weeks Doc scheduled ultrasound to measure her.
So glad you were able to hear that hb!
Heya

Things have been super crazy around here, I'm sorry I've been MIA.
Oh and I"m a little bummed, a little relieved. We've downgraded from the Poly to CBR for our Dec trip... saved $1k. I'm a little sad because the Poly is like my dream, but an extra $1k... thats a lot of money.
No worries, life happens!

CBR will still be tons of fun - it's a beautiful hotel!
Had my 28 week appointment today. I'll actually be 28 weeks tomorrow, but its close enough. Passed my 3 hour glucose test. Baby is continuing to measure big at 31 weeks. Everything is looking great and we have an official date and time for this baby's arrival. Sept 16th at 7:30 am. Only 11 weeks and 2 days till he will be here. Wow!
Good news passing the glucose test! Sept 16th is my wedding anniversary! I haven't scheduled mine yet, but if my RCS goes as the dr first planned, I will be right behind you on Sept 21st!
Just heard the news that my SIL had the 2nd twin on Sunday. She survived for 9 hours before going to heaven. My SIL had been almost 24 weeks pregnant. Please pray for them.
So sorry to hear about their loss.
At least the new Dr. is cautious. Could be a LOT worse! Honestly c-sections aren't as bad as you'd think. That said, I was devastated when I was told I'd need one with DD... and now I'm dying to schedule my 2nd.

My Dr. schedules them at 38-39 weeks so it doesn't hurt to ask! I think if they scheduled them at 40 weeks, they'd have a lot of emergency c-sections because a LOT of women go into labor before 40 weeks! I'm not wild about leaving DD for 4 days either, though. Oh well. Sh** happens.
I agree c-s aren't as bad as many fear, and I can't wait to schedule my RCS, which will probably also be at 39 weeks. Will you have a 4 day hospital stay? I only had a little over 2 days after DS was born via c-s.
I had my 16 week appt yesterday. All went well and the appt was short and sweet. They took my vitals, dr came in and chatted with us for a few min and then did the doppler on the baby. This time she found the baby almost as soon as she put the doppler on my belly! HB is in the 140's this time.
I have a private gender scan scheduled for Friday at 3:00pm ET. I can't wait!!
So all in all it's been a pretty good week for me so far! It will end with awesomeness and then next Monday I will be in WDW!!!
I was wondering if any of your dr's are measuring your belly growth? Is that something that they used to do but don't any more? Mine hasn't been measuring me. Not that I really care, I just thought it was something they normally do.
Sounds like everything is going well with you - can't wait to hear the gender results! Have fun in WDW! It will be extra fun picking out baby items.

I think enough people have answered this already, but I'm pretty sure my OB started measuring my belly at 20 weeks as well. He took out the tape measure at the previous appt, then stopped himself and said I wasn't far enough to measure yet.
I'm seriously debating how much longer I'm going to continue working.
I plan to work up until the day before my rcs, but I have a desk job and can even work from home a couple days a week. I think if I was on my feet all day, it would be a different story!
Well I had my 20 week ultrasound this morning and everything seemed good. Of course the ultrasound person doesn't tell you squat, but everything seemed to all be measuring consistently and looked fine to my untrained eye. DD went and enjoyed it the first - oh 5 minutes - then got bored. The good news is she is still a she

Although the tech did tell me to bring the baby by the day after she is born and he can tell me boy or girl with 100% certainty....funny guy.
Sounds like your u/s tech was a comedian! At least he enjoys his job and you were able to verify your baby is still a girl!
Yeah, I just worked 3 nine hour days and decided that was it, I'm done. I had planned to work until Friday, but I'm just too pooped. Funny thing is, last night I slept better than I have in weeks. I wonder if going on leave eased enough stress that I could actually sleep.
Doesn't it figure! I hope you are able to relax and get some rest before your LO arrives!
I am really uncomfortable today. Baby feels like he is putting a lot of pressure on me. My Dr said to call if I have more than 6 BH in an hour and a lot of pressure and they will do an ultrasound and make sure I'm not too effaced or dialated. Right now I am having 3-5 per hour, usually 1-2 painful. I don't want to look like an idiot by calling and having it just be normal discomfort...but I also don't want to try to be a hero and having something happen because of it. Then I would look even stupider. Right now I'm just waiting, hoping I don't get to six an hour!
We thought of getting just a regular carseat as well since we didn't want a travel system, but decided to start with the infant seat simply because it will be easier for somethings like going out to eat or to the store...we can just leave him in that if he is asleep!
I'm also a big fan of the infant carriers for the same reason. I hope your contractions don't increase and that baby stays in a few more weeks at least!
Hi Everyone -- I just wanted to introduce myself and join in the group! My name is Lauren, and I'm pregnant with my first baby. I'm due on February 4. I just had my first doctor's appointment yesterday, and she said that everything looks good. My husband and I have basically no experience with babies (although I do know a little bit more than he does -- he thought babies started to crawl when they were about 2 weeks old

)!
Welcome Lauren! This is defnitely the friendliest and least judgemental board I have seen - such wonderful ladies here!
Didn't get to schedule my RCS. My OB had a death in her family so I saw the NP again. July 15th is the date to schedule now.
Sorta disappointing though I don't think I'll have any issue getting the morning that I want.
Sorry you didn't get to schedule your RCS yet. My next appt is July 8th, but I'm not sure if I'll get to pick a date then or not. I start having appts every 2 weeks after that!

This pregnancy is going so fast!
Uhhhh..... I'm not sure how good of an idea staying home alone was. All I've done is eat all day. Cereal, giant fruit and yogurt smoothie. Then for lunch tortilla chips with melted cheese on them plus red & yellow bell peppers w/ blue cheese dressing, and now ice cream.

Good god, I'm gonna gain another 10 lbs.
Sounds like you ate a lot of healthy things too, so that's good! I can smell my DH making home-made pizza now and it smells so delicious!
My u/s went well. Baby is head down and appears to be about 4.5 lbs! My fluid level is on the low side of normal so they are repeating the u/s this Wed. I hope and pray it does not drop. I had the same problem with DD, but it was discovered later in the pregnancy and I was induced at 38 weeks. I am almost 33 weeks right now so I am really hoping that I don't get put on bed rest. Of course there are worse things but I have no idea how I will manage an active 3 yr old!!!
You must be relieved to hear the baby is not breach. I am worried about managing my 3 yr old after this baby is born too, especially since I know I'm having an RCS. I have no idea how moms on bedrest keep up with active toddlers!
