Moms to be Part 4

Well ladies, I got a form letter from my OB's office today telling me I'm anemic.
The only good news is that I passed the glucose tolerance test... And they said my B12 is "OK"

Sounds like you are more familiar with your results than the OB's office!

Wow - what a crappy weekend! I woke up this past Wednesday morning not feeling real great and one of my eyes was all matted and yucky.
Sorry to be such a downer.....just needed to vent.

Aww, that really sucks, I hope you are feeling better soon!

************************

Tomorrow is my big u/s!!! Can you tell I am just dying of excitement?

Cross your fingers for a little princess! princess:

Thanks! I'll keep my fingers crossed you find out you will indeed be getting your little princess. Let us know!!

Can't wait to hear Pollito!

I went in today. I'll be 39 weeks tomorrow. Absolutely NOTHING going on down there. He's still head down, though, so that's good. I'm going out of work Friday no matter what. I can't deal with it anymore, and I commute an hour each way. I just can't keep it up.

Hi! I just found this thread for the first time - I am 12 weeks along with my 3rd baby. This one was a BIG surprise (our youngest is almost 8), but a happy one (it took my husband about 2 days to get color back in his face after I told him :lmao:. I have read a few pages of the thread - it is nice to remember other people are pregnant, too - no one I know in the "real" world is!

Hi ladies. It's been a while since I posted here. We had an u/s on Monday and saw the baby and heart beat. We heard the heart beat too. It was 111 bpm on Monday and they were measuring me at 6 weeks and 1 day so that moves my EDD to 12/12. As of Wednesday night my pregnancy symptoms keep on coming and going. It's slightly worrying me since I've never been pregnant before and don't know what to expect but I googled it and a Lot of women are saying this is perfectly normal. That the pregnancy symptoms come and go in waves all throughout the 1st trimester. Did any of you experience this? I feel like you all are so much further along that me and I'm jealous LOL. I want to be able to feel my baby move so I know it's ok. My next OB appointment isn't until 5/25. so far away!!! The NP I saw on Tuesday said we should be able to hear the h/b through the doppler by then. I've read/heard you can hear it by 9 weeks. I'm seriously considering renting a home doppler so I can hear it for myself before my appt on the 25th. Do any of you use a home doppler? Did it put your mind at ease or did it make you more stressed?

I am not much further along. :) I am due 11/2. I definitely have days where I feel pretty normal, and days where I feel VERY pregnant - I just try to enjoy the good days. I would not rent the doppler, either. It would be so easy to stress if you found little fluctuations.

Tomorrow is my big u/s!!! Can you tell I am just dying of excitement?

I have 2 boys and am DYING for a girl, and so anxious to know! Did you do the test you can buy from Target? Just curious if that result matches what you find out tomorrow if you did. I laughed at myself for spending that much $ on a silly test, but I am so anxious to know! It said a girl, but I won't believe it until the u/s.

I so remember how you feel! When I was pg with DS, it was February in Chicago, so cold, a terribly snowy winter, and my work was ~ 1 hour from my hospital. And the hospital near my office was a really bad one I would not consider delivering at. Luckily my last assignment at work was to audit an office less than 1 mile from my house. When I finished that, I worked from home until my water broke 3 days AFTER my due date. If I didn't have the opportunity to work from home, I would have stopped when you did.

Welcome! I have been dying to know as well and bought a gender test at CVS - I think it is the same one as Target sells - Intelligender? It said boy pirate:. But I also found a test online called Best Baby ($10 if you take a survey online with your results). It is a very similar (pee in a cup) test, but with that one I got girl! princess:

So only one of them will be right, and we'll find out tomorrow! :woohoo:

TSRE welcome:goodvibes

I am 18 1/2 weeks with #3 and my DD will be 7 and my oldest will be 9, so I know how you feel. It is weird to start over, but exciting at the same time!!! Good luck!!!

Thanks! That would drive me crazy! Intelligender was the one I took - I think I'll stick with it and enjoy thinking its a girl for a little while at least :rotfl:

Thanks! It is weird - we really thought we were done, and I was good with that, but I have surprised myself with how excited I am with this one. It's almost like having a first again in some ways, plus the excitement my kids feel. Other than the whole morning sickness thing (ending soon, I hope ;)), it has been really fun. Are your older ones excited?

Hey ladies :) I've been MIA lately, not a lot of "baby" stuff to post, so I've just been quiet. Had my OB appt yesterday, my 3rd "intake" appt.. what a PITA! At least they're super super nice and the hospital is super nice too. I asked about RCS's and they said usually do it at 38 weeks, which works for me. I have to schedule 8-10 weeks out.... booo! I don't wanna wait!

Oh, and we got our minivan!! LOL. '05 Nissan Quest. Heh, I like it a lot. Shhhh, don't tell anyone. ;)

LaurenLC: Hope you're doing better! How's your BP doing?

Leger: Hope all is well with your behbeh! I was back and forth on the doppler thing, I ended up not getting one. I figured if the midwife couldn't hear it at 12 weeks on hers, I wouldn't be able to find it on mine, and I'd be a trainwreck.

Vettechick: Glad you had such a great trip! I read your 'how-to' on the Families board. :thumbsup2

WDWorBust: I'm sorry you're still not feeling well-- been there, done that, it's miserable. I hope you're starting to feel human again!

Pollito: I hope you get your little girl!! I wanted a little girl this time too... lol, oh well!! I hope you get your little princess!

WDWAurora: I hope you have that baby soon! I bet you're at wit's end!

cmskok: I bet your kiddos are thrilled to have a little sibling... hey, you have two helpers! (lucky duck!)

last but not least...

Pollito, I'm holding out hope for you!

I am going back today for my 23w appt and since she wasn't 100% sure this next one was a girl, I'm going to ask for another quick US. Just to check and make sure. But it better be a girl - I'll die if I find out now it's a boy! :rotfl:

I'm still here! My appointment isn't until 2:00, and I live in AZ. We're on PST now, so 3 more hours to go!

Ok, I'm going to lose it.

I called the OB yesterday to ask about the additional iron for the anemia. (Remember they told me I needed to take 50-65mg twice per day, but didn't take into account that I was already taking 45mg once per day)... They FINALLY called me back today and say "Don't take any more, only what you were taking"... But... I NEED MORE. My RLS is SOOO bad. And when I first went on the supplement (before pregnancy) my RLS was horrid and improved on the iron supplement.

I don't know what to do. I feel like I'm going to offend the OB if I call my PCP and ask him (who put me one the iron in the first place) to do more tests. I can't sleep at night. I tried the unisom (doxylamine succinate) last night and it didn't help AT ALL. I was up until 2 with the worst bout of RLS yet. Ambien does help, but I'm still afraid to get dependent on it... and what if I run out?

Why isn't the OB (and staff) listening to me? I know I sound like a hypochondriac. I even admit that I might be one. Ever since I had the neuropathy problems I've been WAAAY too interested in my symptoms for every little thing... the sad thing is, I'm *almost* always right about what's wrong with me, and my PCP knows it -- either that or he humor's me w/o making me feel like he's humoring me.

I don't know. I am so tired I can't see straight. And if I'm really not supposed to up my iron, then what? Being anemic is NOT good for baby. It can cause preterm birth and low birth weights. It's not good for me because I can't sleep, and it's not good for the rest of my family because I'm exceptionally crabby.

I hope I make it to Friday and my next appt. Right now I am not sure that I can get that far on no sleep and twitchy legs.

Ohhh hun. Call your PCP. I wouldn't think twice about it-- this is your health. I'm sorry your OB is being a SOB about it... it's absolutely miserable when you can't sleep, and even more miserable when you've taken something to help you sleep and you still can't.

Ahhh gotcha! How are you passing the time?! I'm so impatient, haha.

me too, fortunately (?) I had plenty of work to do keep me busy!

Nette - so sorry that you are having trouble still and the OB's office isn't listening to your concerns. ITA with Charming's response! :thumbsup2

Sooo, we went to the u/s appt today.....the little bugger was not exactly cooperative. Head is up past my belly button and butt is right on my bladder! :headache: So it was difficult to get a good shot of the "goods", but the tech is guessing....

It's a girl!!! princess:

She said she couldn't see anything between the legs, but was having trouble getting a good close up of the 3 lines. She was poking my stomach pretty hard to try and get the baby to move, but that just made her cross her legs! Looks like I may have a stubborn little lady on my hands already! :rotfl:

Yay! So glad it is (hopefully) what you wanted! Will they do another U/S to check again?

The u/s tech said it's up to the dr, but normally they only do one. She said as long as the baby is in this position, it will be difficult to get a good shot no matter how many u/s they do. So I'm hoping she turns!
