Wow today is a day of complaining. I think baby just turned head down and OWWWWWWWWWWW it freaking hurt. I had no idea it would hurt that much. I just hope he actually did it and didn't only go part way.

Ouch, I hope you are right that he turned all of the way!

I had some blood last night so I called the on-call to see if I needed to go in. Yep, he wanted me to get Rhogam ASAP.

sorry about the long night - I don't blame you for avoiding the ER! That's good news that all was well at the OB today and you get your U/S tomorrow - let us know if LO decides to reveal anything ;)

I got a swimsuit this weekend. Ugh, it looks more like a circus tent. At least I look definitely pregnant in it, KWIM?
We are going on a cruise in 3.5 weeks and I am greatly ambivalent towards it.

I got a swimsuit this weekend too, since it's in the 80s today, and will only go up from here til LO is born. The cruise and NYC sounds like lots of fun, I'm sure you'll get more excited as it gets closer!

Anyone else having trouble finding decent maternity clothes that don't look tent-like??? I don't know what it is, but everything is soooo long (and I am fairly tall at 5'7"). I tend to carry small so maybe that's the problem. I actually resorted to just buying tops in a larger size but pants are an issue......and I hate to spend lots of money on clothes that will only be worn for a few months...UGH

I have bought some tops inn a larger size too for the same reason, my regular tops are too tight, but the maternity tops look like tents. I also got a few sundresses that are super comfy. I like the places that sell pants in sizes like 2, 4, 6, etc so they fit better, like Old Navy and Target. I don't have a problem with those fitting, but ones that run S, M, L tend to not fit me well. I hate to spend tons of money too, but I hate more to feel frumpy and ugly for the next 6 months when I still have to go to work and out in public.

Hello all! We just found out on Friday that I am pregnant with our second.
During my first pregnancy I was working 60-70 hour weeks but now I'm at SAHM so I'm really looking forward to keeping up the active lifestyle I've been able to adopt with the additional time I have. Any good suggestions? I go to the gym and am going to try yoga and for now will stick with my usual routine. (Dr. said it's ok)

Welcome! :cheer2: I wish I had advice on the active lifestyle, but the extent of my excercise is chasing my 3 year-old and a walk in the evening with DH. :rotfl:

I had a check up today, and everything is looking good! My BP seemed a little high...130/68. I go back in 2 weeks, and that's when the cervical checks start. Should I be at all concerned that little Blobby hasn't started turning at all yet? He keeps his head to the upper right of my belly button pretty much all the time.

DD never dropped or turned and ended up being breech for the duration. We didn't even discover it til my 36w appt and they scheduled the c-section during that visit. When do they say babies should start moving down? Maybe Blobby will get a move on!!

I bought two swimsuits this weekend. That mirror was not my friend. Despite that, I ended up getting bikinis which I usually prefer. Even if I wanted to cover up my middle (how sad that my pg belly is the most toned part of my body :rotfl:) I am too lopsided to wear a one-piece - I am a large/XL top and a small bottom. I am sure gonna miss my ample busom when this baby comes out. :rotfl:

DS never fully descended either, something that wasn't known until after 15 hours of pitocin and labor. Then I had a c-section too, but it obviously wasn't scheduled.

Vettechick - glad you can still wear the bikinis, I just feel too self consious. And i am with you on the lopsided-ness - right now I am a Med on top (but starting to bust out of the bigger bra again) and XS on bottom! I got a maternity tankini to cover the bump, but I may reconsider showing it as it becomes more obvious that I am pg and not just fat! :rotfl:

I dunno. I spent some time on http://www.spinningbabies.com this morning because I was worried little bumpy was turning BACK to transverse and I wanted to figure out what position he was in. Boy did that freak me out when they said by 26 weeks he should be head down... But then they go on to say that some babies don't turn until the very end... There are also lots of positions you can assume to help the baby turn. Might want to check it out... It's interesting if nothing else.

Hello all! We just found out on Friday that I am pregnant with our second. My DD is 14 months old. We aren't going to tell anyone we know for a few more weeks so I need to talk about this to someone other than my husband!! haha I should be due around Nov 30th but don't have my first appointment until end of April.

How far along are you? I'm 30 wks and I'm pretty sure my little one hasn't turned either. I think you're a couple weeks ahead of me though. Hopefully our little ones turn soon!

Hi ladies! Do you mind if I join in? I have a few questions that maybe someone can help me out?

First, congrats to everyone!

I'm only 10 weeks & 4 days along, due 10/22. I just had an ultrasound last night and the baby is measuring exactly where he/she should be and kicking up a storm with a strong heartbeat of 187.

I just turned 35 in January so I guess I'm considered "high risk" b/c of my age.

I have to go to the hospital at 12 weeks to get an ultrasound and the screenings for Down syndrome, etc. Has anyone had to do this? My last pregnancy was 8 yrs ago and I didn't have to do this, but I was only 27 at the time so I'm guessing this is a high risk thing b/c of my age?

I have to speak to a genetics counselor too?

I guess I'm just wondering if anyone else is over 35 and had to do this and what to expect. The paperwork has Level 2 high risk ultrasound and AMA circled on it. No idea what AMA stands for.

AMA is Advanced Maternal Age.

I didn't have to do it, but it was offered. We skipped because the local hospital doesn't have the ability to do it, we'd of had to drive to a different hospital about an hour from here.

Welcome to the group!! It's always great to get new members!

EmALee-I'm 35 weeks today.

How do you know your little man hasn't turned?

There are some things you can do to try turning him. One of them is moxibustion if you have somebody that does acupuncture. There's also the ol' ironing board against the couch etc.

Thanks for the welcome & info.

I wish it was offered to me, I would have skipped it. I wasn't exactly given a choice. Oh well......... The hospital is not far from me, just an inconvenience with the hours they offer and work.

We had the nuchal translucency scan done at 12 weeks. You can google it. It is a check for down syndrome. The scan results combined with blood work at 18 weeks will give you a percentage/chance of downs. I was 1/50 due to my age but after the tests I was 1/500. We had to meet with a genetic counsellor prior and my only risk factor for anything was my age. To know for sure you would need an amnio.
Remember that everything is a choice and you don't have to do any tests etc. you are not comfortable with. We opted for this u/s because it was non invasive. I would never have an amnio though. Because my blood work was good and the u/s was within normal range that issue never came up.

Welcome sulover! :cheer2: Sorry I don't have any help on the extra screenings. Was the heartbeat really 187 - I thought "normal" range was 120-160? Though I know DS was frequently 160-170.

The first heartbeat my OB found for DS was 182. She told me it was totally normal. I think I was a little over 10wks at the time.

Thanks for that info! I guess I don't mind doing the tests, just inconvenient. I think I'm more shocked I'm considered high risk. I don't feel old. :lmao:

My DD was always very high in the 180's. I have no idea what the normal range is. He just said she/he must be kicking up a storm in there and said everything was fine. I had an ultrasound at 8 weeks and I was measuring a week behind at that point and the heartbeat was 149 at that one. Maybe he/she will be an active one. ;)

Hey everyone. I'm about 7 weeks along and tend to be a worrier. I just ate a deli sandwich for lunch without thinking. Can someone calm me down please? :headache: so i'll quite worrying about listeria. TIA.

OMG I miss so much being sick!! Eeep! Sick + pregnant = horrible. I'm coughing so hard I'm puking!

Welcome new girls!! :welcome: Glad you could join us!

Newddmommy: I wouldn't stress too much. I just *started* eating lunchmeat a few weeks ago... he/she's still kickin! I think it's so rare, but I too was really paranoid about it. I ate lunchmeats the whole time with DD... and she's 2 and a half princess:

OK I need to collapse now

It's really not common AT ALL! I had the same thoughts- avoided Subway like it was serving the plague.

Then I went to the hospital childbirth class and they served us cold cuts. :rotfl:
We were all like "WHAT ABOUT LISTERIA?" and the nurse laughed and said it's a really, really, really small chance and that the hospital had NEVER seen a case of it.

The nurse, and my OB, said as long as you aren't eating meat that has been left out, then put back in the fridge, then left out again... you're fine. :thumbsup2

I am enjoying Subway a lot this pregnancy. :rotfl:

*eta* Do you know your due date? I can add you to our list! Welcome! :)
