Moms to be Part 4

ITA!! I am still waiting for that burst of energy and since I am nearly 26 weeks I am guessing it's not going to arrive.

DD woke up at midnight on Wed with the stomach bug :scared1: It has been an awful few days but she is finally feeling better and eating a little today. Is there anything more revolting than cleaning up after a toddler who is sick while you are pregnant????? Calgon, take me away :)

Yep... lol, a 2 year old who poops on YOUR bed, and rubs in all over herself, your bed, and the floor. Holy Barf. However, I don't know which is more revolting, puke or poop.

I completely understand where you're coming from. My DS, who turned 2 last month, literally just started to say "NO" about 3 days ago.....I mean, he could say it previously, but he never really did. Now, everything is, "No, no, no, no, no." Ahhhh.....love this stage! :rotfl:

Yikes! Hope your DD feels 100% soon. :)

Luckily DD isn't too big on the "no" word, but if the girl doesn't want clothes on, dear god, it's not happening. Its like she thinks they're laced with arsenic!!

Forgot to add that since I'm still waiting on my GTT results, I decided I'd better get my sweets in now, just in case I don't pass. So, went to the store, and in addition to the usual boring necessities like milk and bread, picked up some doughnuts, Ben & Jerry's, and then I came home and made brownies. :lmao:

Haha that's been my general philosophy!

Okay, I admit that I am a total snob when it comes to shopping---I refuse to shop at Walmart...I just hate it there!!! So, I was so upset that of course they had the Mickey in the House line for cheap! So I started comparison shopping AND---

on diapers.com, if you send them the Walmart link, they will price match and they also have FREE SHIPPING!!!

WOOHOO!!! I can have the walmart price without the walmart experience!!!

I hope I am not offending any walmart lovers, but 5 years ago, after many terrible experiences there, I witnessed a fist fight between 2 mothers, because one asked the other to stop hitting her child while we were all waiting to pay---I dropped the diapers that I was buying and vowed to never go to a walmart again....:scared1:

You know what, that's not a bad idea. I don't *like* Walmart, but their baby stuff is the same thing as BRU, but much less expensive. I have a little bit of an online registry set up there, but I'm not sure how I could explain to people that they can get a price adjustment from diapers.com? I guess if there's anything else I'm going to buy personally, I'm going to do that.

Oh, and I think all of our babies are gonna have matching carseats! ;)

Haha! I take my GTT next week and I thought the same thing, so I made brownies tonight. Honestly, if I fail, I am in big trouble because I love sweets. I do curtail my intake now but I still have treats now and then.....without them, it will be a long 3rd trimester!!!!

OMG yes! I had to "watch" my carbs with my last pregnancy, I was borderline. Ouch!! I sure hope that won't happen this time, I'm definitely eating better.

Well...I'm not any more thinned than I was 2 weeks ago, or dilated. :headache: My DD is in a "deliverable position" though. :confused3 Ugh, I'm still super uncomfortable though and feeling that back pain so maybe it'll still be soon. I go back in 5 days because my OB won't be there in 7. Plus according to him my due date is next Saturday. Maybe I'll get lucky and he'll just schedule an induction soon! :goodvibes

I hope your baby decides to come really soon... on her own!

phragmipedium: They're your tatas, your baby :)

side note: I quit BF'ing at abuot 4 months (a little earlier maybe) and it took about 2 weeks for all the milk to dry up-- but I was in full swing. If I recall, the Drs can put you on birth control pills to help speed up the process if you decide to formula feed exclusively :)

So how sad is it that I'm up at 4:30 in the morning eating a PopTart?

Not sad at all. I've been up at 5 most nights, snacking on something. :goodvibes

well other than the fact that it is Saturday, not that sad. Yesterday I was up at 4:30 eating a giant bowl of Rice Chex with sugar. I'm not a "midnight" snacker at all and this baby has me hungry 24/7.

I'm constantly hungry too!

Do some of you ladies ever have the feeling you're not going to make it until 38-40 weeks? I've had some nasty BH's lately... nothing regular, but I just have the feeling we're not going to make it past say, 37 weeks. Is that weird?

I also have a feeling that I won't make it to my due date. I have been having alot of pressure and cramping and bh lately

Yep me too. I've been having killer BH for a few weeks now. Plus, when I look at my ovulation chart, I think this baby is a week older than they're giving him credit for. Not to mention I've consistently measured (both tape and u/s) 1-2 weeks bigger for the whole pregnancy. I think this is a June baby (I really really hope... so sick of being pregnant).

I definitely agree! Due to some complications, my first DS was born at 36 weeks. So, even though my actual due date this time is August 11th, my goal is to make it to 37 weeks. I think that everything that can be done to prolong my pregnancy is being done, short of complete bedrest, which hasn't been deemed necessary.....yet. So, I'm keeping my fingers crossed! But, every u/s and doc visit has gone well thus far. :goodvibes

I don't know about you guys, my baby's most active period seems to be right when I crawl into bed for the night. I swear he was doing somersaults last night! :rotfl:

I remember having BH's with DD, but they're nasty this time! I am trying to drink a LOT of water, but sometimes, especially when I'm stressing-- OUCH!!

My ovulation chart O date is so far off from my LMP-- 24 days. They look at me like I have 4 heads when I tell them the due date the RE and I agreed upon (lol.)

I'd say go with your gut and your chart! :goodvibes

DD was 36 weeks also. Everyone *swore* I'd make it to my due date (except finally the Drs got the picture!) My mom even swore up and down that I'd have her late.. um, no. My goal is also 37 weeks, if I make it that far-- sweet!
So far so good on this pregnancy too, no bedrest yet!

Yep, my little guy is most active between 9-11PM, and around 6AM. The kicker is, every time I get DH to come over to feel him, he stops!

Is anyone else not sleeping? The past three nights in a row I feel like I haven't slept at all. Between not being able to get comfortable and getting up every 20 minutes to go to the bathroom it's kind of like why even bother.

I consistently have a fear that this little guy will come early, too! DS was 7 weeks early and DD was 3 days late, so we will see what this one does!!

Mrs. Charming, the only one who has felt the baby move besides me was my son, who was laying with me watching TV and got kicked in the back by the baby!!! They are already saying "don't touch me" even before exiting the womb!!!

Yep, that sounds like my guy. If DH or DD tries to feel or see him move (and boy can you see it!!) he sits super still. I think I should have them take turns staring at my belly as I try to go to sleep.

Yeah, I feel like most nights I'm up either rolling over or peeing every 45 minutes. I can't remember the last time I had an actual dream. And both Friday and Saturday I have been woken by a BH contraction that has set off some lovely round ligament pain. I swear, I think that pain beats out the pain of real labor last time and the aseptic meningitis headache (which I still say was worse than labor) I had a few years ago.

Last night I took a 1/2 ambien... I haven't had one in over a week, so I *THINK* I slept through the night, but you know what they say about ambien, some people get up and don't even realize it. But when I woke up this morning I just wanted to go back to bed for another 10 hours. I'm so tired that I'm completely useless. I can't concentrate on anything for more than a minute or two. I'm actually looking forward to the conf. call I have to make in a few minutes because I can just sit back and try to listen to it rather than try to actually absorb information on how to do something else. I hope I don't fall asleep.

Me! I woke up the past few mornings feeling like I didn't sleep at all! I have this nice little "habit" now of waking up when DH goes to work (5:30) and not being able to fall back asleep. Happened twice last night-- 2:30 and 5:30. Shoot me!

I consistently have a fear that this little guy will come early, too! DS was 7 weeks early and DD was 3 days late, so we will see what this one does!!

Hahaha that's cute! Mooooom, he kiiiicked me!!

I've been thinking of taking a Benadryl myself! Of course, if I did, that would be the night that DD wakes up in the middle of the night, just 'cause.

One thing I do to show the little guy moving is balance the TV remote on my belly, and his movements rock the remote, haha. Otherwise I don't know if DH really believes me, or what!

Well, I failed my GTT. :headache: I go in tomorrow bright and early for the lovely 3 hour test, which I imagine I wlll ultimately fail as well. :sad2:

Oh well. Last time around I was able to manage the GD with diet alone, so hopefully it will be that way again. Now I just have to say goodbye to pizza, ice cream, cereal (except the kind that tastes like bark, which is ok :rotfl:), and cut waaaayyyyyy back on carbs. The one positive thing about this is that it definitely forces me to eat much, much healthier.

Hope everyone else's Monday is off to a better start!

I'm sorry. I'll probably be eating nuts and twigs along with you in a few weeks!

Oh, hey, some good news-- sort of. I think we decided on a name: Ben (Benjamin.) This one was more DH's idea, but I'm kinda liking it, and it's better than what we had so far. I liked Nathan, but there already is one in the family. Booo.

I'm kinda thinking Joshua for the middle name, I liked the name Josh, but DH wasn't too keen on it. Haha, but I can't help but wonder if we should save the name "just in case we need it." LOL

Mrs. C: I like the name!

Leith: Sorry about the test! Good thing you got in all your sweets when you could!

cmskok: I despise Walmart too. Unfortunately, we live in the middle of nowhere and are kind of stuck with it for most shopping :/ . I had a VERY rude checker there the other day who told me I should have waited until I finished school to get pregnant (I look really young sometimes), couldn't use food stamps for my purchases, and had no business owning dogs (I bought the bulldog puppy a non-tipping water bowl). I told her (not that it's any of her business) that I'm 27, married, have a MA, have never used food stamps, and have happy, healthy dogs. Crazy rude people. LOL

This baby likes to be most active between 2-5 AM. I have also had horrible acid reflux at night, and my hips hurt so bad I can barely walk. I am falling apart, and still have a little over fifteen week to go (though I think he will be born a little before his due date for no reason). :)

I got the nursery all cleaned out (except for a big desk and DH's big tool box both of which he will need to move). This weekend I painted everything. I went with light blue walls, white trim, and white doors. I also bought some fabric last week to make curtains with. The fabric has four different Mickeys on it. I used some of the leftovers to make stencils of all four shapes, and made a border of solid white Mickey silhouettes around the room. This is silly, but it made me feel very mommy-ish to do something "special" for my son :)

Today we were picking out a crib. I have it narrowed down to four choice; two somewhat reasonable and two pricy (but far superior quality). I will have to see the pricy ones in person before buying them, so I want to go NOW!

Hope everyone is having a great day!

OMG!! EW!! I can't believe that Walmart checker. How rude!! I don't look 29, either, so I get some looks because I have a 3 year old and a big belly... ugh. If that happens again, I'd tell her manager or at least fill out one of those customer satisfaction cards. (Does WM even have those?!!)

I totally know what you mean about falling apart, and being 24 weeks. My hips kill me if I do a lot of walking around stores, or if I lay in bed too long. OMG last night I couldn't get out of bed, it was awful!

The baby's room sounds awesome! :) I know what you mean about doing something "mommy-ish". I can't do a ton of decorating at the moment, so shopping is my 'thing.' I got him some cute little shorts and hoodies at the Childrens Place yesterday for under $20... woohoo! I'm a little worried since I got them in 3-6 mo though. I wish I had a general idea of how big this kiddo is going to be!

Congratulations on picking a name....we haven't even really started talking names except DD wants to name her Isabella if it's a girl.

How exciting getting the nursery done :) I know I'm probably in the minority, but DD slept in her crib only a handful of times so I would go with the more reasonably priced one.

Well last night was miserable. I went to bed about 9pm but woke up having to pee at 10:34, then again at 12:30, then 2:30 and then again at 3:11 and one last time at 4:03 before getting out of bed about 4:20am. I had committed to coach bootcamp this morning so I had to be there. I had been so lazy the last two weeks I hadn't been going. I am so tired. I was sitting at my desk this morning reading something and my head dropped. I had dozed off while staring at my computer!! I'm already starting to have a time finding a comfortable position to sleep and I'm only 14 weeks....I'm dreading getting big at this point.

Sooo...it has been an interesting weekend. Friday night I ended up with a sore throat which continued until yesterday but on Saturday I decided to go to our walk-in clinic just to make sure it wasn't strep, which it wasn't. Still hurt a lot though:headache: Anyway then I woke up yesterday morning with the sore throat still and a fever of 100.5, back pain, muscle aches and a general yucky feeling. So at this point I decided to have my OB paged because I know fevers aren't good for babies. I had to have him paged twice and the third time I called the answering service called his house while I was on the phone and patched us through that way. Well he told me to go up to L&D to figure out what was going on. I got to L&D at 11am, was hooked up to machines, admitted, and was checked and told I was still no more dilated than I was Friday (which I knew because I wasn't actually feeling any contractions). So they kept me on the monitors until my OB showed up at 3-ish. At which point he checked me and said that even though at this point I was having contractions I wasn't any more dilated or effaced. then he told me that he still wanted me to stay until at least 6 just to see if I make any progress. So at that time I was allowed to eat and get out of bed. I didn't have to be constantly on the monitors. Except right before 6 when the nurse came in to check on my DD to make sure she was alright...then found out that I wasn't :scared1: My HR was at 130 bpm. It had been earlier but they just thought I was anxious about feeling sick and feeling the contractions. So then they drew blood, did an EKG, and put in an IV. Well, I ended up spending the night in the hospital in order to get 3L of fluids to bring down my HR. I'm home for now because I still hadn't dilated any and I'm a little anemic and the contractions had stopped around 2 am but have picked back up so hopefully next time I get on here...I'll have my baby girl! :cool1:

OMG, girl!! I hope you stay ok, and I hope you have that little girl very soon :cloud9:

Why didn't your darn Dr. induce you then?? Or keep you another night and induce you when your HR was OK for a certain period of time? What a butt.

Keep us posted!!! Please!!

EmaLee: I hope everything is alright. I'm also surprised they didn't go ahead and induce, or at least plan to when your HR was back to normal
