Oh, hey, some good news-- sort of. I think we decided on a name: Ben (Benjamin.) This one was more DH's idea, but I'm kinda liking it, and it's better than what we had so far. I liked Nathan, but there already is one in the family. Booo.

I'm kinda thinking Joshua for the middle name, I liked the name Josh, but DH wasn't too keen on it. Haha, but I can't help but wonder if we should save the name "just in case we need it." LOL

Congrats on figuring out a possible name! Ben is a great name! :)

I had a VERY rude checker there the other day who told me I should have waited until I finished school to get pregnant (I look really young sometimes), couldn't use food stamps for my purchases, and had no business owning dogs (I bought the bulldog puppy a non-tipping water bowl). I told her (not that it's any of her business) that I'm 27, married, have a MA, have never used food stamps, and have happy, healthy dogs. Crazy rude people. LOL

Wow. Just.....wow.

Sooo...it has been an interesting weekend. Friday night I ended up with a sore throat which continued until yesterday but on Saturday I decided to go to our walk-in clinic just to make sure it wasn't strep, which it wasn't. Still hurt a lot though:headache: Anyway then I woke up yesterday morning with the sore throat still and a fever of 100.5, back pain, muscle aches and a general yucky feeling. So at this point I decided to have my OB paged because I know fevers aren't good for babies. I had to have him paged twice and the third time I called the answering service called his house while I was on the phone and patched us through that way. Well he told me to go up to L&D to figure out what was going on. I got to L&D at 11am, was hooked up to machines, admitted, and was checked and told I was still no more dilated than I was Friday (which I knew because I wasn't actually feeling any contractions). So they kept me on the monitors until my OB showed up at 3-ish. At which point he checked me and said that even though at this point I was having contractions I wasn't any more dilated or effaced. then he told me that he still wanted me to stay until at least 6 just to see if I make any progress. So at that time I was allowed to eat and get out of bed. I didn't have to be constantly on the monitors. Except right before 6 when the nurse came in to check on my DD to make sure she was alright...then found out that I wasn't :scared1: My HR was at 130 bpm. It had been earlier but they just thought I was anxious about feeling sick and feeling the contractions. So then they drew blood, did an EKG, and put in an IV. Well, I ended up spending the night in the hospital in order to get 3L of fluids to bring down my HR. I'm home for now because I still hadn't dilated any and I'm a little anemic and the contractions had stopped around 2 am but have picked back up so hopefully next time I get on here...I'll have my baby girl! :cool1:

I hope you feel better very soon, and have your little girl in your arms before you know it! :goodvibes

I'm taking a half Unisom every night. Otherwise I wake up 10 times a night. And it's not like I'm uncomfortable yet. Just at that stage where I'm waking up a lot. Grrrr!

So remember about a week ago when I posted about having a strange unknown virus? I went to the ER to get some fluids and see if they could diagnose me. Well never again! That 4-hr visit cost me $3,000! I am responsible for $600 of it. Where do they get off charging $3,000 for some fluids and blood work? I am hot over it!

Have you called your insurance company about this? It seems really high for a deductible... Fighting with the insurance company has become my favorite pastime! I'm thinking I'm pretty good at it because I've won ALL of them. All the billing mistakes really drive me crazy and it disgusts me to think of how many people just pay them because they are scared of the consequences for not paying them.

cmskok: I despise Walmart too. Unfortunately, we live in the middle of nowhere and are kind of stuck with it for most shopping :/ . Sadly, this doesn't surprise me at all, but I have to ask, how it the world did all of this come up in the check-out line?

I plan on getting an itemized bill from the hospital. It just seems insanely high. They didn't do much of anything but run a flu test, check my vitamin levels, and give me some salt water. And for this I give them $3 grand? :scared1:

Thanks for everyones concerns and wishes. The whole time I was laying in that hospital bed I was wishing and hoping they would just induce me. I'm so close anyway what difference does it make?! If nothing starts happening soon, I'm going to get kind of irritated. I'm having contractions now but they're SOOOO far apart! I have an OB appt Wed if I don't have her before then and maybe at that point he'll schedule something, but I kind of doubt it. For a guy who was worried about the size of my baby before, he's kind of relaxed about when I have her. It's my understanding the longer she's in me...the bigger she'll get! I'll let you all know how it goes!

I'm surprised he didn't discuss induction too! Your hospital stay sounded a lot like mine for the high blood pressure. Of course, that was at 33.5 weeks. My doctor's said that he wouldn't stop labor after 36 weeks and would like to induce at 39 unless things get worse with my blood pressure or I have more symptoms of preeclampsia. At Friday's visit he surprised me by setting an ultrasound for tomorrow's appt - I didn't think I'd have another, but he wants to get an idea of size and amniotic fluid levels, etc.

Thanks for all of the feedback about breastfeeding, ladies! I think I'm just going to play it by ear and see how I feel about it.

I have no idea what set her off, other than just looking at me (and I grunted once because I lifted something wrong to put it up on the conveyer belt...) I guess she thought I needed her advice. I live in an area where this actually isn't that unusual, people here love to judge others and tell them about their findings :sad2:

Good for you! I hate my insurance. I always get things that say "this is not a bill. Do not send payment". Then nothing, until a few months later when I recieve collection notices for not paying the "bill" :headache: I would have paid if I had known I was supposed to! :confused3

That is insane. I hope something can get worked out.

We bought the crib last night! I am super excited! We went to a store about an hour from us that carries the ones we were choosing between, and I am so, so glad we did, because I absolutely despised the one we liked online when I saw it in person. It looked like a really cheap-o crib, and I thought it shouldn't for the price. We looked around at some others, and they had a floor model for a Natart crib that converts to a daybed and a twin sleigh bed they were wanting to sell for half of the origional prcie, with the conversion kit included. It was WAY out of our price range at full prcie, and still just a little more than we wanted to spend on sale, but it is a beautiful (I think!), well-built piece of furniture and since it will convert we went for it! We are going to pick it up on friday! DH will have to move the last of the furniture out of that room so I can deep clean the floors before we bring it in :rolleyes1

Here's a link to the crib on the mfgs web site. We purchased it in "cognac" out of the colors on the bottom:

How many ultrasounds have you had? I had 3 total between January 1st and the end of April. Reassured me on her gender though!

I hope they figure something out for you! You are so close anyway! :cloud9:

Have a great day everyone!

I had to "check in" with my OB this morning on the phone to let him know how things are going, which is slow like usual. I had 2 pretty strong contractions one at 3:30 and one at 4:30 and my belly has been pretty tight and I had another strong contraction at 11:30 but really this is going too slow for me. I'm considering jumping jacks or running a mile or something!

Congrats on getting the crib! That's so exciting!!

OMG! yay! The FedEx guy just came, I got the carseat! Wooohooo! :woohoo: I'm itching to take it out of the box.

Emalee-- I hope your contractions keep going stronger!! :wizard:

Thank God, DD is back to normal....no more vomiting...yay! But DH and I now feel "off." Not really sick but just not ourselves.....UGH. I was nauseous today so I kept eating small things to try to curb it. I feel ok now. I have to do my GTT tomorrow so I am hoping for the best...haha.

Aww, c'mon, a little boy's gonna be fun ;) I hear they really love their mama :lovestruc

It is funny though because I think of how different it will be raising a boy and a girl. I am one of 4 kids (2 boys, 2 girls) and we are all grown and married and while my brothers are still very close to my mom and dad, once they are married it is different.....plus dealing with a DIL is very different than dealing with a SIL......I think I am getting waaaayyyy ahead of myself but I do think about these things....like I have nothing better to do, right??

LOL, I know, I know, I'm already in love with this little guy, but I'm really starting to think I'm so not done with having kidlets!

I'm an only, so I reaaaally have no clue about brothers! I have two make cousins, but they're a little.. uh... different. Other than that, I know very very little about boys, the only ones I really have interacted with have behavioral probs, so that scares the bejesus out of me!

I'm totally afraid of having a DIL, I've thought about that, too! Eeep! OMG what if she's a brat?! Eeep! (SIL's a total brat--DH's sister)
