Moms to be Part 4

Hey ladies! Today is a bit of a sad day for me. It was a year ago today that I found out that I had most likely lost that baby (which ultimately I had). The good thing of course is that I'm actually pregnant again now which makes it a bit easier. However I am so sick of being exhausted and nauseaus....it's making me crazy. Any suggestions on how to deal with both? I can tell that I'm definitely older this time around....or at least that's what I'm blaming it on right now.

I'm so sorry, it's so difficult when the "anniversary" or should have been due date rolls around  That was me at the end of April last year, thinking of what should have been.

For the nausea? None of the remedy type stuff worked for me, all I will say is if you are having a hard time keeping down fluids and start to feel really bad, complain before it gets too late. Don't try to be a hero, it's not worth it. I hope it passes soon for you.

Mrs. Charming

Congratulations!!! We are hoping for a boy! I know I shouldn't say that but we are...

Yay for Team Blue, Mrs. Charming!!! Now we can chat about our fears/concerns with raising a boy.....but it will be so much fun!! All my friends with boys say that the boys are so good to their moms :)

Oh, those dinos are too cute! Maybe you can find them on ebay or something?

My periods sound like yours- I hoard painkillers just to get through, it is so miserable being like that though! If I'm not having any more kids, I figure why deal with that anymore?

I looked!! I thought about calling the company, they have a phone number on their website.
If anyone is interested and wants to make their own look the bedding set is called "Baby Dino" by Lambs & Ivy.
I'm planning on purchasing the woodland critters set as soon as I figure out our mess of a checkbook so that I'll STOP LOOKING! :rotfl:

I totally understand what you're saying about the pain, too. That is why I figured I'd do something but stinkin' Catholic hospital. Why do I have to love it so much there?? (Oh what a problem to have, huh? Loving your hospital so much you don't want to go somewhere else.:lmao:)
After my gallbladder surgery I got 100 Vicodin (7.5/750 ones) and I took maybe 12. My DH was like.. why are we getting the refill? Because it's $5 and at least a years worth of freedom from "that time of the month".. Then I got pregnant again. Whoops. Probably didn't need all those Vicodin...

And yes, all the "must haves" What a scam on the part of the baby gear companies!

I'm not sure what happened with us but I used everything we bought. Which I don't think is typical at all... seems like changing tables are a love/hate thing but we LOVE ours. Lucas loves his swing and I'm just really hoping that this one does, too! It was so nice that he was content to sleep in his swing because I was so scared of holding him while he slept. He was so big, though.. that it hurt to lay him on my belly because of the CS incision. He was 9lb5oz and 22" long.. so even with his head right by my shoulder, he hit right where my incision was with his feet. It sucked. :( It does seem my incision is higher than most of the others on the New Moms thread, though. It's pretty much right in line with my hip bones. :confused3

Congratulations!!!!
LOL @ monkeys and dinosaurs!

Yay for Team Blue, Mrs. Charming!!! Now we can chat about our fears/concerns with raising a boy.....but it will be so much fun!! All my friends with boys say that the boys are so good to their moms :)

I :lovestruc my boy. They are definitely rambunctious! My cousins have 3 little girls and they're so CALM compared to DS!! He's like the energizer bunny.

*****************************************************

We have a name! I can't believe I forgot, so I am editing this back in.

Owen. We're still working on middle names. We've only told my parents and my best friend and we're already annoyed because I got 3 phone calls last night suggesting middle names. I'm not against ideas from the internet but people that will have the ability to say, for the rest of his life, "I picked your middle name!" just really bugs me for some reason. Especially since we have a short list already.

My favorite is Owen Reid... but nothing is decided. I think DH favors Owen Walter... but I keep thinking that if I do that people will think we did it for Walt Disney. :rotfl:

We asked Lucas if he liked Owen and he spit up, so I think that means yes. :rolleyes1

That's how my cramps are. I'm debating right now if I want to go for the endometrial ablation or the partial hysterectomy after baby arrives. I need to do something to not have to suffer like I have in the past. I was actually on the pill at one point to try to control my endometriosis and I bled for 3 1/2 months, had to have surgery and everything. It was awful and I don't care to ever experience that again. I am 100000% done having kids after this so I see no reason to suffer through the monthly B.S. As for forgetting labor pain, I dunno, I remember it being pretty awful, I guess having the baby just outweighs it enough to make it worth doing again :confused3

That doesn't sound fun. Mine's not quite as bad though the last time in August was. I have PCOS and hadn't had a period in 4 months so the last time I had one it was so painful! I was at work doing a 24 hour shift and all I did was sit on the couch all day...I felt bad but I was in sooo much pain. I agree with getting the procedure done if you know you're done having kids. I'm thinking about trying one of those IUD birth control methods after the baby, I have a hard time remember to take the pill and I wouldn't have to remember anything with that.

Congrats!! :goodvibes

We have a name! I can't believe I forgot, so I am editing this back in.

Cute name! I like the name Reid...although I'm quite partial to Walter too since it's my dad's name and I love Walt Disney. If I were going to have a boy his name would have been either Nathan Michael or Jacob Michael (I was really leaning toward Jacob) but the middle name...after Michael Jackson. :lmao:
So I think if people had a problem with you naming your child after a man who was a child at heart and has made millions of people really happy, that's their own problem!

I :lovestruc my boy. They are definitely rambunctious! My cousins have 3 little girls and they're so CALM compared to DS!! He's like the energizer bunny

My daughter is so far from calm. In fact, she tells me she is "rough and tumble." The funniest part is she has an angelic face and is a delicate looking as a princess.....boy are looks deceiving...haha...

I guess I am just hoping that my little guy will be my calm one. My mom tells me that I was exactly like DD and my brother, who is 2 years younger, was the perfect child. Calm, good sleeper, never argued or gave them any trouble....I just can't imagine TWO rough and tumble little ones

Still hangin in over here, been having a ton of back pain and more contractions than I'd like. I'm on pretty restricted bed rest now, I spend almost all day on the couch watching tv. I'm ok with that :). DH leaves work to bring me lunch, so that I don't get up and cook real food, which I would likely do. Aline is doing well, but I don't think she's too happy with me right now, I keep poking her when she kicks me, lol.

It's a cute picture though!

Thanks! :goodvibes

Anyway! I picked out this crib:

51T7ccFW4EL._AA300_.jpg

and someone in the review section said that the Leksvik furniture from IKEA matches perfectly... so I'm going to get:

72491_PE188268_S3.jpg

Those look like they match pretty well! Some of DS's furniture is from Ikea too!

This is the bedding I have
Does anyone have an opinion on Epi vs IV? I'm kind of afraid of the epidural and I'm not sure what the options are. My OB is on vaca so I won't see him for another 3 weeks and I have an appt with a diff OB Friday, but I'm not sure if she has a different routine than him. Any advice?

That bedding is really cute, we have the Rainforest swing, bouncer, and high chair for DS that we plan to use again!

Love the cake pics, can't wait for more! My sister has recently gotten into cake decorating too, and she's really good, but I don't have any pics. She sends them to my cell, but the color always is distorted and funky.

As for the Epi vs IV - the IV did NOTHING for my pain when I was in labor. The Epi was wonderful. I :lovestruc the anesthesiologist! Unfortunately, so did all the nurses, and their flirting when I was in pain was driving me crazy! "oh, Dr. T! You're so funny!"

Here is one of part of our nursery...It's the Pop Monkey set from Babies R Us:

That's how we decorated DS's room! You can't tell very well in this pic either, but the walls are light green.

It's a bit far away, but this is a picture before Lucas moved in...
4145_672558001469_25826704_39867710_3433059_n.jpg

Cute!

It is too early for me to shop but I spend so much time daydreaming about what I want the nursery to look like, etc. I can't wait until we know the gender!

So much cheaper than shopping when you don't know the gender yet! You're probably next!

DD is sickies, and I'm just kinda starting to feel human again... except now I'm puking all the time. Ugh. Thanks, post nasal drip. Thanks.

Sorry your DD is sick too, I hope you're all feeling better soon!

Anyway, a few months ago I fell in love with a dinosaur set at Sears.

I also think I've switched away from the monkeys. When I found out who made the dino bedding, I looked on their website and found this!!
room2.jpg

I put our paint chips in with it, still trying to decide if it matches or not.

The dinos is really cute, but I think the monkeys match your walls too. Have you tried looking for the dinos on Amazon or ebay?

Sorry about your sad day. The best way to deal with exhaustion is a nap! :rotfl: Seriously, I can't find anything else that works. Sometimes taking a walk makes me feel better, but it's so hard to get my butt up! I never had much nausea, ginger ale seemed to help. And eating small frequent meals, mine is worse when I let my stomach get empty.

I had lapro and lupron to take care of my endo, and took seasonale to have less frequent periods after, but never bled for that long - scary! :scared1: I would be considering other options if you are sure you're done, but I'm not sure I'm done yet.

It's.....a....BOY!!

Congrats!!

He was so big, though.. that it hurt to lay him on my belly because of the CS incision. He was 9lb5oz and 22" long.. so even with his head right by my shoulder, he hit right where my incision was with his feet. My incision is quite a bit lower than yours, without being too graphic, it's just above the hair line.

I like Owen Reid better. Love Lucas's reaction! :rotfl2: My DS says we're having a boy, and he wants to call him "junior". Junior what, I don't know.

I just can't imagine TWO rough and tumble little ones

That is exactly what I am scared of! :scared1: If this one is like DS, I am pretty sure I am done!

Still hangin in over here, been having a ton of back pain and more contractions than I'd like. I'm on pretty restricted bed rest now, I spend almost all day on the couch watching tv. Glad you're hanging in and Aline is doing well. Lol at poking her - I used to do that to DS.

My daughter Carrington (14 months) has a neutral vintage pooh room.

That is how we did DS's room before we moved. My sister painted it for us as a surprise one day while we were at work, and it turned out so cute!

That's how we decorated DS's room! You can't tell very well in this pic either, but the walls are light green.

Both are so cute! I love the mickey head cloud!!!

BTW I saw a restaraunt the other day called Politos...its one L away from your DIS name and I was like...why does that sound so familiar. Then I thought of you! LOL

I had a Dr appt today and I've finally gained 2lbs...getting on track of what I should be gaining on a biweekly basis. The substitute OB said Allie's heartbeat sounds REALLY good which I was happy to hear. I also asked her about my due date because my OB says its 5/22 but my U/S person says its 6/5. She said that both U/S's are showing the same date so I should ask my regular OB...maybe he has a reason for keeping it the earlier date. :confused3 I don't really care either way it would just be nice when people ask to not have to say "Oh between May 22 and June 5th" and see the strange looks on their faces :lmao: And now Allie has decided to press on my sciatic nerve...that hurts.

I have the PCOS also, as well as endometriosis. I know the feeling of being useless at that time of the month. The IUD is supposed to be a good choice for BC- no worrying about pills or anything, and I believe it lasts for up to 5 years. If you're not in a rush to have any more it might be a really good choice for you :) Talk to your doc BEFORE the baby arrives and have a game plan for afterwards- that's what I did this time around and it was much better to get the info/make the decisions now rather than at my 6 week checkup trying to figure everything out

I  IKEA. The stuff we have has held up well but on the other hand at the price I don't have to feel guilty if after a few years I want to pass things along and try something else

Yeah, that three and a half month long "period" was awful. The worst part was that it started on the day we were leaving for WDW. Literally I was in Target picking up prescriptions and thought I had peed myself but it was a blood gush (sorry for TMI). I guess good thing I was there and could buy supplies, because I was on the pill and totally unprepared to have that happen.

That room is so cute! They both are really cute but that Mickey cloud is just adorable! You're so lucky to have such a great sister!

I have the multiple due dates too, it is very frustrating. I've been told April 10, 11 and 19. :headache: I always have to ask which due date they are calculating things by, everyone seems to use a different one. At one point I got frustrated and I was like, well, I guess the baby will come sometime between March and May! :lmao:
