Sbell - Congrats on the arrival of Sarah! What are her stats? How is your wife doing now?
Adi - Wow, that was definitely a birth story to remember! How big did Isabel end up being at birth?
Madison passed meconium before birth too and it was definitely scary to think about the possibility that she could aspirate it. Luckily she was fine too.
Patsy - I never really saw my kids 'dirty' either and I had V births both times. 1st kid had meconium so she was whisked away immediately to be suctioned so she didn't aspirate. 2nd one was preterm so he was whisked away by the NICU peds to be sure he was okay. So really, don't beat yourself up too much as there's no guarantee either way. I would like to get the chance to see this one immediately after birth, but I'm not counting on it after the 1st two.
We're back from WDW, and likely the last trip we'll have for awhile. It was a good trip overall, but of course being with lots of people, particularly those who have never really been to WDW, can cause a lot more work than necessary on vacation. One of my cousins was 35 weeks pregnant so she ended up staying home, but sending her 5yo with her parents and sister. Well, she sent the kid sick, fever and vomiting, and my daughter caught it while we were there. So she and I spent a day in the room, doing absolutely nothing. We couldn't even use the pool cause she was too sick.
We also did a
MVMCP which was fun, despite about 1.5 hours of rain. Because of the rain, WDW made all the party tickets into 1 day MK tickets valid for a year. They also let us turn ours into vouchers for a MVMCP or
MNSSHP for next year since we had APs so the 1 day tickets didn't benefit us.
The crowds were great while we were there and the weather was overall really nice too. Made it pretty enjoyable to be there while pregnant, much better than over the summer when I was sick and not thrilled to walk around in the heat all day.
Oh, the one thing was that I forgot to bring my needles/syringes for my progesterone shot. I had the actual progesterone, but that clearly wasn't going to do any good. So my husband had to take a bus to DTD, then walk a mile to a pharmacy, come back, etc. Took over 2 hours, but I wasn't willing to go nearly 2 weeks without a shot, particularly given how much I contract everyday.
Today I took my kids for ice cream, which negated the 3 miles of walking that I did. I did come home to find an interview request for my husband, finally, so that was pretty exciting. I am really hoping we can move to Arizona and while he has a guaranteed job here in DC, this was the 1st interview request out there. Of course, I am mildly upset that I can't go with him, or at least likely can't go, cause I would have liked the time to check out the area. Guess that can happen in the spring if he is in fact hired and accepts the position.
