Moms to Be Part 3

Tomorrow I will be 17 weeks-everything is going pretty good so far.I am now hungry pretty much all the time!I have had a few days to get used to the idea of a boy and it's growing on me!!I had an appointment on Tuesday with my OB and everything was good-I have a yeast infection but other than that good.He asked me if I had alot of them with my dd and I said no I didn't have any so he said oh maybe it's a boy.I said yep my high risk doctor told me the day before.Unfortunately while I was at the doctor I got a call that my house was robbed.I was really upset the whole day and everytime anyone came over to see how I was I would cry again(hormones)It was a few very stressful days for me and my husband but I know it's not good for me to be so stressed so I am trying to stay calm.We went out today and got me a new laptop so I can get back to my disboards. It is not just the stuff that they got(2 flat screen,tv's 3 laptops, xbox, ipod, camera, jewerly etc but the fact that they were in my home and went through my stuff that really upsets me.They took my 8 yr old dd's pillowcase from her room and went through her jewerly box.The nurse from my doctors office loves my dd and she called yesterday to check on us-I thought that was sweet of her.I feel better today-I got some sleep last night and am happy we are all safe.

Pooh - That is so terrible! I can't believe how violated you must feel, and with the hormones kicking in at the same time too. I hope you and your family are doing okay now.

DMickey - I want to say congrats to you, since I was not feeling up to actually posting yesterday when I put your name on the list. I will be praying that things go smoothly for you this time around.

So the one food I find that I can eat daily without getting sick is the sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich from Starbucks. Gross, I know, and weird that all that grease doesn't make me sick while strawberries do, but for some reason it works. Anyway, my husband walked to Starbucks today to get one for me and they were out and now I'm in this weird funk cause I'm hungry and don't know what to eat. Cereal makes me sick so I made Bagel Bites and that seemed to go well, but I'm still hungry, we are all out, and I'm fearing eating anything else. 11 weeks, I just keep repeating that to myself cause it's like halfway through the sickness. Tomorrow's my 1st trimester scan and while I am excited to actually see this baby (and have some sort of confirmation that I am in fact pregnant, other than the HPTs I took), I am fearing my son in the ultrasound room. I remember when I brought my daughter at his age and she emptied the contents of my purse onto the floor, one item at a time, and I was confined to that table so I had to just let her do it. I know a friend would watch him, but I feel guilty about taking my daughter and not him so he'll be coming. Guess I'll just keep him strapped in the stroller.

Congratulations DMickey!!!!!!!!!

Sorry Pooh, I've been burglarized in the past and it's very scary and upsetting.

Hi boltfans. I'm having a sonogram tomorrow also!

Hi Everyone,
I'm new to the moms to be thread! We just finished our first trimester and I'm feeling sooooo relieved. I've been watching this thread for a while now but I wanted to wait to join until I felt more comfortable. So excited to be along for the journey with all of you.
(We're due January 20th!)

Thanks everyone-we are doing okay and most important the baby is doing okay too.On the plus side we were not sure if we were going to cancel our trip next month(with all the money it is costing us for an alarm and after our insurance deductable)because we couldn't find airfare home for less than 229 a person but today I got 79 so we decided to go and enjoy our last vacation as a family of 3!!Disney better watch out because a very hungry pregnant woman is coming for free dining:laughing:

Hey Guys ... Can I cautiously join you now? I got my first BFP on a FRER and Digi Thurdsay at 9DPO! So early and they are getting nice and darker already. I feel really good about it this time. I had an early miscarriage in March but didn't get a hint of a line until 11DPO then. My LP tends to be short so I think the baby didn't have enough time to snuggle in before my body prepared for AF. I had a beta on Thursday and again today, we'll get those results on Monday.

EDD: 3.30.2010

We are praying for a sticky health baby girl! :lovestruc

Congrats! I'm so happy for you!:goodvibes

Oh my, my name sure is getting close to the top!!! Yikes!

I'm off to work in the nursery today (have to re organize a few things for the hundredth time) and I need to finish getting stuff together for the hospital.

We took our hospital tour on Saturday and they told us they don't provide any clothes for the baby so I need to pack a TON of stuff because I don't know what size he will be and I want to make sure he is comfy. Now I am second guessing my light packing, everyone told me they give you everything you need while there but I don't want to leave it to chance.

Hope everyone is doing well.

They don't provide those little white t-shirts or anything? That's mildly annoying, cause I know my kids went through a few of those a day, so I can't imagine if I had to use all my own stuff and leave the hospital with a laundry bag. My kids were just in that little white snap up shirt, the hat, and a blanket. They did ask us to leave the shirt when we were discharged, but we were allowed to keep a blanket and the hat.

My day started out so wonderfully by me walking probably 2-3 miles up and down hills by 9am. Now we live in a city so I walk a lot, but come on, not how I wanted to start my day. My daughter's in a camp at the zoo this week and we only live a few blocks from the zoo so I figured I'd walk her there (my husband was home till 11am so he drove my son to his camp). So it's like a 3 block walk down a steep hill to the zoo entrance, then uphill all the way to the front entrance of the zoo where the classes are held. Fine, I left early so we could walk at a normal pace. Then we get there and surprise, surprise, my daughter's class is being run from a totally different place, a classroom all the way at the bottom of the zoo, right next to the entrance I came in from near my house! So we trek back down there, at a rapid pace now cause we had a total of 8 minutes to get there and it's far (though at least downhill at this point) and then I had to walk back uphill to my house. My initial plan was to go to the Starbucks near the main entrance, where my husband would have picked me up after dropping off our son. But clearly that didn't pan out. I was annoyed that I was given no information that this camp was run out of a different location than all zoo classes (we do many classes there year round), and that there were no signs up at all, since I passed the place on my way in and saw absolutely nothing there, except the signs at the place I thought the class was held. Apparently they have signs up there cause the older kid camps are run out of there, but to not have a sign up for the smaller kid camps is insane. Other parents had to look around for it too, but most of them drove so they didn't go through the insanity that I did, and the 1 other family I know who did walk came from the other direction so at least they didnt go out of their way like me.

Anyway, enough of my rant. Clearly my hormones have me a bit grouchier than normal! Time to pick up kid 1, then feed her something for lunch, get kid 2, and hopefully keep him up till it's time for my ultrasound. I'm hoping he'll fall asleep on the way there and sleep through the appt to make my life easier.

Oh wait, another great event this morning. I'm making my son's lunch and my husband yells out "OMG, there's a mouse in here!!" I first jump and run, only to see it's a hamster. We're watching my daughter's class hamster for a few weeks. Yesterday, my son opened the cage to feed him and apparently did not replace the paper-clip type things on the cage door so he escaped and was running all over the house last night. I have no fear of rodents, but being pregnant I did not want to pick him up and risk getting bitten (he bites a lot), so I havemy husband do it, but he is not a rodent person at all. So the animal crawls into a hole between the cabinets and the backsplash thing on the floor. Excellent. Eventually he comes out, bites my husband who is trying to pick him up (with a paper towel no less as he's such a germophobe), then I capture him in a tupperware while he's shrieking and screaming at us. The next family takes him this week and I cannot wait at this point!

Okay, it's official. I'm going to be induced on Wednesday. I'm totally freaked out, because I really thought there was no way I would progress enough in 5 days. I'm 2 cm and 80% effaced and Lily is "very low." It was funny because my dr was so excited that I progressed. I guess all the pineapple really helped!! I also walked a little yesterday--though anything I'm on my feet for more than 30 minutes I started getting cramps on my side...it's weird. But I think it was mainly the pineapple...and that other #1 thing they tell you to try. ;) Today is my last day at work and I'm wrapping everything up.

We're going to see if we can bring our laptop, especially if the hospital has wifi, so hopefully I can post more.

Oh and my Dr and I had a very long discussion about the risks of a c-section. She told me that there was no way that she would induce me if I wasn't ready and that she considers my condition to be HIGHLY favorable. I plan to eat more pineapple and do some more walking and stuff. ;)

That is really exciting Sarah! It must be so nice to have a date and know that your dr will be the one to deliver, especially after the relationship you have developed over so many years. Good luck getting ready!

So I need to leave momentarily for my ultrasound and for some unknown reason I am so nervous. I think it's just that I'm afraid that something will be wrong and I'll be alone with my kids and have to deal with that. I know it's insane though so I am trying to put that out of my mind, but it's not working well. Also I think part of my problem is that I told my daughter she can tell her grandparents about the baby and even though that should be exciting, for some reason that also has me nervous. My MIL could care less if we have 20 kids and my mom knows we're planning on a 3rd, but the timing just seems awkward to me as my SIL just had her 3rd so I know it's not novel to my MIL and on my side of the family my crazy cousin whom I previously mentioned is having her 2nd random child (or 3rd I guess) and we had all this talk about how she didn't tell her parents and stuff. Now, I didn't for the sole reason that I wanted my kids to get that joy since it's the last time, but I still feel weird that we've been talking about other people's pregnancies for months and I haven't mentioned mine. Ugh. The hormones are definitely working overtime today cause I feel insane.

Yea Sarah! How exciting!!

Ugh, I am so sick of headaches!! I have had them non-stop since last night, and on and off for the past two weeks. I want them gone!!!

I am sure it will all be great!! It is so exciting to have a date! Keep up the pineapple, walking and other "recreational" activities ;) Your little one will be here in no time!!

I get nervous at every ultrasound until they put the probe down, I see her and she moves, then I enjoy it. I think it is a mix of nervous excitement and I'm always so scared something happened to her since I last saw her. . . glad to know I am not the only one.

I think everyone will understand you were waiting to be sure all was going well and that you wanted to share it with the kids first. I can't wait to see pics of your little one!!

We're back and all went well. Adi, you're right, it is a mixture of excitement and fear something is wrong. It was very reassuring to see an actual image, the baby moved around a bit, the measurements looked great, and we heard a heartbeat.

I need to get dinner going cause I'm getting hungry and that never pans out well.

I said this on Facebook too, but YAY!! I am so excited to hear all about Lily! And since I have stuff to do on the 24th and 25th, I had better stay away from the pinepple until then. I already saw some extra mucous-y stuff on my last trip to the bathroom which is weird for me this early. (Sorry for the TMI, but if I can't share it here, then where?)

I'll see if this works.

Okay, good. I know they all look alike, but I figured I'd post them all anyway. Kind of reminds me of my son's picture at that age, as insane as that sounds. I think it's the shape of the nose.
