Thanks everyone!!! We are so excited.

Maggie~ I don't think it is girly but I don't think its masculine either. Probably not too much help, lol.

I don't like 'sets' or when things are too matchy. For our nursery we used this photo from the same site as inspiration. http://www.babysupermall.com/main/products/lai/lai6606v.html We bought the mobile and the decals and that started the airplane theme.

Then we bought this set in light blue from pottery barn kids and blue sheets with white clouds http://www.potterybarnkids.com/products/nb51/index.cfm?pkey=cboys-nursery-bedding|b

And so the colors for the room will be light blue, white, and red with a touch of navy here and there.

That was long but I couldn't find anything I liked but finally I chose the theme and it all came together.

I think it all looks very masculine except for the flowers, but for a baby boy I think the flowers would be ok. My DH would likely NOT like it becaus eof that though, but I think it is masculine.

Thanks for being honest... i was worried about the flowers too. Its really hard for me to pick out baby boy bedding-- everything is either really babyish (which isnt really my style)... or its got some kind of girly tone to it. lol.

Okay I have a question. When you see this- do you think its a girls or boys bedding? Honest question here. (It does have some blue flowers on it- you can go to the detailed photos to get a closer view). I HATE being told what someone thinks I want to hear-- so shoot me straight. Just remember-- im not an animals/character type person.

Honestly that looks like it could go either way to me. I think it would be fine for a boy.

I saw both of those sets (as a matter of fact i think ive seen every set under boys on nearly every website there is). LOL. Ive looked at EVERYTHING! Im not a real matchy matchy person either-- we would definitely only do the bedding in that-- and then use the blue to accent with (along with a maybe a pale orange thats also in the set). That stuff definitely looks like it fits in my house more-so than some of the other stuff Ive seen. I am so picky. I sent Dh an email at work with about 20 different bedding sets-- i dont know what he will think. MY luck he will hate them all. Girls bedding is so much easier. It doesnt help that I am a girl- so my tastes are more femanine anyway. I guess this is why DH's tastes will help balance us out.

yeah... its not really me either. I know- im terrible.

I did find this one, by the same designer as the last one (with the flowers)... but it looks less femanine.. although my own personal tastes draw me to the other.
http://www.glennajean.com/pages/esquire.html

ETA: I think i can better explain my taste by saying that im a deep, rich, color kind of person. I absolutely hate the color white (only because it shows, EVERYTHING).. and deeper colors are my thing. Rich bold colors. In my siggy pic- that is the wall color in every room of my house. We will not be painting the babies room either - so thats been something ive had to worry with too. I dont want too much dark colors in one place-- but im really good at accenting a room. The bedding is only a small part of it. However, i wont buy my furniture until i know what bedding i have and what furniture color will go best with it.

Maybe instead of looking at sets try finding a sheet pattern you like that has bright colors? Then you can easily accessorize or find a solid bumper. It is really hard, I thought I would never find anything. Then I found the stuff I liked and it is back ordered so I won't really know if everything goes together until a few weeks before he comes.

i think i found a set i like-- but the crib sheet is white-- which is a turnoff. I know its just a crib sheet though and i could easily find one with color just about anywhere. The bad thing is not seeing it in person before you order it... i hate that part!

CONGRATULATIONS!! How exciting!! When do you move in? Now you know we have to see photos! And just think, you get to start the nursery ASAP (and hopefully the nesting phase will help you get everything done before litte man arrives!).

I would say it is gender nuetral but, more on the boy side. I really like it.

I'm completely staying away from bedding sets. I just picked something in the colors I want and then make the room itself special. Since you're not really supposed to use the bumpers or the comforters and you don't need a diaper stacker, I feel like I just want a bunch of nice sheets and things that work with my room overall.

(Plus it's all too pink!) ;)

I'm not even going to look at that site since I already bought bedding and I don't want to be tempted. I bought his bedding at Pottery Barn Kids and even though it is back ordered until June (still plenty of time) it was only $110 for the bumper and skirt and I bought 2 sets of cloud sheets for $23 each. I didn't want or need a quilt because I plan on using the sleep/swaddling sacks to prevent the risk for SIDS.

On to more exciting news WE GOT THE HOUSE!!:cool1::cool1::banana::dance3::dance3::yay::yay:
Congrats on the house!! How fun and exciting!!
I've been reading up on ways to decrease the risk of SIDS too...its terrifying!

I think it's pretty.... but looks more for a boy to me...

TY. I really like it. I cant believe its only $100 shipped (on a different website i found than above). Its Glenna Jean and thats not inexpensive. Its discontinued though and Babies R Us was carrying it online up until today. Dh and I are having a boy-- DH likes it, but he likes a few others too so we will have to decide. Im also not looking for something straight up blue-- if we have another baby im sure the bedding will continue over to the second- regardless.

I'm so happy we got the set on sale. I was thinking about just getting the crib and using DS1 changer but we still use it for him and storage. Oh well, it's an investment for the boys.

We found a bedding set finally. DS1 has Critter Chatter by NoJo. We didn't know what we were having the first time so we picked something for either. The second time around for this baby we ordered Splash by Migi. It's exactly what I wanted the first time but in much better shape. I'm just going to get my own valance and curtains.

Here is the bedding:

Here is the crib, changer, and dresser:

The crib is shown in white, but is the same color as the dresser and changer.
Hooray!

We might be going to Macaroni Grill with DH's family and grandma. All I need is 5 more pounds due to Italian food. :sad2: Who can resist that darned bread they serve?

I hope everyone has a nice weekend. Congrats on the house Skylarr. What a great way to welcome a new baby. I tell DH we should just buy a new house when the baby comes so I don't have to pick this one up.

Maggimus, glad you found something you like.

Veronica- I was totally peeking all over your myspace last night and cracked up when you used the actual pe*is word to describe the US picture! :rotf:l

I know, all my friends were all "that is SO like you" :lmao: What can I say? I don't beat around the bush!

I can't stand myspace. There are far too many little kids on it. I love facebook for its appeal to older audiences...tho my wall is getting a little nuts with the 10+ friends I picked up yesterday for telling Disers that I'm level 45 in Mafia Wars...now everyone wants to be my friend! lol
I've been creating a separate list of friends from the DIS especially since we've picked up several from being on Mafia Wars-just helps me to keep up with where I know them.

I really need to get a facebook huh? :confused3 Am I just too old for myspace now?? LOL
I don't like myspace now that I'm on fb. Its just a whole lot easier to deal with fb-I don't have to "pimp" my profile! :lmao: Plus all my friends are mostly on myspace.

I'm going to order this here in a few months:
http://www.amazon.com/Teether-Cover...UTF8&coliid=IS42LKN20MT4Y&colid=3PVK7HPPGGRLI

Or the next time I want something from there and it's not enough for free shipping.... I don't want Lucas to ruin his crib!
I wish I had had one of those with Madeline! Thats gonna be a good investment Patsy!

I kinda lean more towards girl but only because of the flowers-if you took those away I would think definitely boy! I love the colors though.
HAve you checked out www.babyearth.com? They have some decent sets.

I love that bedding set...I love the lighter colors is why I think....

LOL thanks Piecey- now i have nothing to eat for lunch (jk).

Okay so I have certainly fell in love with a designer of crib bedding. Its not all animals and letters (nothing wrong with that at all - just not my style). However, the sticker shock is really out there . I probably wouldnt have thought much about it-- but i know what BRU and places are charging for 4 pieces-- so this will make you scared. Anyway, the designer is "Little Bunny Blue" and they have the cutest girls and boys bedding (not just boys- i know the name sounds like its only for boys). Just thought id share if any new upcoming moms were looking. Ive had the hardest time. Im going to continue looking-- i need something to jump out at me-- and i must admit- the boy bedding is never as cute as the girl bedding.

I'm so ashamed. I'm so sorry.

The bedding I got for Lucas is priced at $375 if you buy it from the designer :scared1::
http://snopeasprouts.com/starshipdreamer.html
I guess I have expensive tastes, too. However I scored it at a local chain store kinda like TJ Maxx, for $29.99.
I didn't get too themey with my room, either. It's mostly just colors and the bedding.

Honestly, my first thought was girlie... for someone kinda like Sarah who is avoiding pink.

I'm completely staying away from bedding sets. I just picked something in the colors I want and then make the room itself special. (I totally put that line about Sarah being the one avoiding pink before I got to your post! :rotfl:)

That is definitely what I like best about Lucas' bedding- the skirt. I wanted colors. When people ask me his theme I say "Primary colors"...
Eventually, he'll use the quilt but not for awhile so kinda like you said, a bit unnecessary.
My Dr. OK'ed putting the bumper on because I'm going to be using a sleep positioner.

What a deal you got! Holy Ca'moly! That first bedding I showed (the one that some find a bit femanine-- although it could be leaves and not flowers..:confused3) you can order online for $100 NO taxes and Free Shipping. So thats not bad at all. I really like it and DH does too but I dont know how family would react-- and its not worth dealing with the hassle ya know? LOL. Family drama during pregnancy- they should make a reality show about that. (luckily ive been okay with all of mine thus far).

*******TARGET DEAL ALERT*******
I did want to mention one deal though that some of you might want to take advantage of (Target again)

Go to this website and on the left hand side where it says "Parents Help your Classroom Hero" under there click for the B2G1 Free Clorox Wipes coupon. (you can print two)
http://www.cloroxclassrooms.com/?tq...ail.com&cl=&cp=&eb=1&ci=&bq=&r=&lang=&cista=0

Then at Target they have $1.00 off coupons for the Clorox wipes right now.
http://sites.target.com/site/en/supertarget/page.jsp?title=coupons_specials

If you use 1 manu coupon and get 3 wipes, you can use 3 target coupons and it makes those clean up wipes only .52 some-odd cents a piece!
What a steal when you are trying to clean up the bathroom/kitchen really quick when the baby comes! Dh and I go through these like crazy!
