K I found 2 on Craigslist that I'm interested in. One is $120 and the other is $100. The $120 is the newest model, not sure about the other one. The$120 is the Advanced one that goes for $329. Hopefully this will work out and I can just buy the new hoses and accessories..
I got mine used too. I'm going to be buying the accessories and such new. Let me know if you find any deals!! :)

I got mine used too.. and they gave me a whole new kit at the hospital. Hoses and bottles and everything. They had me using it on the hospital pump since Vinny couldnt nurse, and then showed me how to use it on the pump I have at home.

Wow! that's sweet!

I'm going to see the Advanced one tonight...somewhere in between our BRU big splurg. :thumbsup2

Do any of you have experience using the % off coupons at BRU? babybargains says that most stores will let you use a general 15% off an item coupon AND a 15% off a specific thing at the same time...I have 4 general 15% coupons and I have ones for a travel system, a bassinet, and something else I can't think of...I know I'd have to do more than one transaction, but have any of you done this? The coupon says it can't be used this way, but BRU's stupid computers will take it off anyway...but only if the cashier will scan them...

Good morning all. I think last night was worst night sleep of my life. I could not get comfy and then I could not turn off my mind. I would lay there and think of all the things I need to get done bofore Thursday. I still can't believe Natalie will be here in 48 hours. :cloud9: We have waited so long for this day, almost 7 years:scared1:! It is pretty exciting.

Piecey- I hope you are feeling better today. I have talked to alot of my friends who went thru the same situation as you. They went into the hospital thinking they were going to have the baby the "old fashioned" way and 12-24 hours later ended up with a c-section. They all said it was horrible. Many of them emotionally felt the same way as you have.

I hear ya! It's starting to get harder for me to get comfortable and as soon as I lay down my brain starts thinking about labor. I'm soooo totally freaked out about it. I'm not worried about going into labor at work or anywhere...I'm not worried about everything after she gets here, I'm just terrified of all the pain and all that goes into it...

Anyone else in? :woohoo:
I'd loooove to join you all -- depending of course on specific dates & finances at the time..... maybe Disney will run a real nice deal for all of us. :goodvibes I know Dan is looking forward to taking the babies to Disney, and Mom being able to take hime on BTMRR & Splash Mtn. DH thinks that we'll need to bring help to handle 2 babies and our older son. I've already told him that I'm planning on getting it figured out -- folks handle multiple kids all the time. He just can't imagine it yet.....

I keep getting fevers, too, so DH is pretty sure I'm overdoing it and bringing it on myself. My mom took a half day today to help me take Lucas to his pediatrician appointment and it exhausted me.
I feel like such a wuss! I never really thought about what a major surgery a c-section is!!

Yep a c-section is major abdominal surgery -- you need to take it easy & let folks help you as much as they can. You may want to mention the fevers to your doc -- can be the first sign of infection.

I'm hoping to avoid a c/s if at all possible -- but I know with twins it may be out of my hands. I'm just not looking to take care of 2 babies while still recovering from surgery -- would much prefer a v@ginal delivery if at all possible... Good news is that my DH may be able to take about a month or so off once the twins do show up -- or at least extended work from home... his co (and state laws) have a pretty liberal parental leave policy & he has a good relationship w/ both his direct boss as well as his boss's boss (who has twins himself.) :) So they have been very understanding about unscheduled time off to take me to appts or because I was in the hospital & not stable...

I found an article in a book last night that said contractions and cramps are a GOOD thing after a c-section! It said they are "cleaning out your uterus" like pushing would in a natural delivery. That excited me greatly because the book said these pains are "desirable" so now I am optimistic that things are speeding up on the recovery front. :woohoo:
Amazing how much knowledge changes your outlook on things! :rotfl:

It's reassuring to know that other people reacted like I did, thank you! I'm getting better but I told DH we're not doing this again unless I know, in advance, that it'll be a c-section and he can take minimum of 2wks off of work. I'm getting Mirena next month! :thumbsup2

Congrats on Natalie being here soon!! It's so nerve wracking to KNOW that you only have one more day... only 12 more hours... etc.

Ask, first thing, when you can get the epidural! :rotfl:
It's bizarre to me so many different hospitals have so many different policies... like my hospital said "Whenever you want." and others have to wait to 4cm (though I may have already been 4cm when I asked, I can't remember :confused3)

And remember that is can wear off so if it starts to feel like it can... hit that nurse call button and demand that anesthesiologist get sent on his way to your room! :rotfl:

We have picked out a first name, Caramia. Mia will be her nickname. I am having trouble with a middle name though and would like some opinions if you don't mind. I would like to have Jo either as the middle name or first 2 letters of her middle name, the problem is our last name is Jones, so it sounds a little funny. Jo is my middle name, as well as my mom's middle name and my grandfather's name. My DH and I are needing some opinions (outside the family) so please let us know what you think. I can't believe we are 2 weeks out and haven't made a decision on the name!

Hi Amy! :goodvibes How about Caramia Joelle Jones.....
or Jolyn or Johanna or Jolina or Josie or Joslyn

Did I come up with enough choices? Any winners in there?

lol I was planning on asking my dr about this next week. I plan on waiting until at least 4 cm and hopefully more like 5...

I didn't have any issues getting that far-- I got my epidural when I did because the guy was already on his way to do the ladies across the hall and my nurse suggested I take advantage of the guy already being on the floor. :lmao:

I got mine was at 5, and I really didnt need it then. They told me the sooner the better though, that way I could get my pitocin, and take a nap. Easiest labor yet!

Really? The dvds I watched instead of paying to go to the hospital classes made pitocin sound like the most evil pain inflicting drug in the universe...it actually made me scared at the thought of induction...I guess as long as the epidural works, the extra hard contractions don't matter...

That's what I always heard about pitocin too! My cousin that just had her baby said the pitocin made her contractions more frequent and SUPER painful. Then again, this was her first baby too so I guess she didn't really have anything to compare it to. But I read that the pitocin keeps the contractions coming back to back whereas if you don't get the pitocin the contractions come naturally and you have more of a break in between. But labor really is different for everyone so I guess some women don't mind it (or even prefer it) and some women thought it was horrible. I have mixed feelings on it. I guess I'll just have to wait and see what happens once I actually go into labor. I'm getting scared though!

Yeah.. with the epidural, I felt NOTHING! I have been started from being about half a centimeter.. and YES. The pitocin gives really hard painful contractions.. But they gave me stadol until I could have my epi. So as long as your nurses know you want to feel as LITTLE of what is happening as possible, they will stay on top of it for you.

Really.. I have been induced twice.. with my oldest and they were short, easy labors. After having my second, I practically jumped off the bed and danced my way to the shower..:lmao: I was REALLY glad not to be pregnant anymore!

With the babies I was in labor, and I just got the pitocin so I wouldnt be in labor all night, and it worked like a charm! I want to say it took an hour or two to get from a five to a ten.

Oh please, please, please let me be like you! :worship:

I didn't think Pitocin was too bad.

They started it at 5:45 am on me and I only got my epidural at 11am because the anesthesiologist was already on the floor. I was fine, the pain was minimal. They even broke my water at 8am which makes contractions harder.

The only contractions that I couldn't take were the ones when the epidural wore off at about 7-8cm and then it was more that it was back labor/gallbladder stuff.
They weren't constant either, I had breaks. If it hadn't been for those breaks I think I would have killed the anesthesiologist for his "half dose"...
