I didn't even think of thrift stores at all! Does yours have an actual maternity section or did you have to look through everything? :thumbsup2

Maybe try your local Salvation Army. Our Goodwill stores are terribly overpriced and don't have any maternity. My sister has the MT jackpot out by her house. They whole top floor of the store is baby and maternity clothes. I got a pair of ON jeans for $2 and a really cute dress for $4. Do you have anything like a Once Upon a Child near you? Sometimes there is a sister store that sells women's clothes including MT nearby too.

Yeah, I have a OUaC...I don't think there's a sister store anywhere, but the workers there might have an idea of any local consignment shops...I can't find anything...we have a lot of big consignment sales around here, but they never seem to be good days for me.:sad2:

im not a mom or going to be one anytime soon but i just wanted to say congrats to all of the mothers out there! the babies that i ahve seen on this thread are beautiful and im sure that those i havent seen are beautiful too. or handsome if they are little boys. again, congrats!

Yes, the 2 thrift stores I went to had maternity sections, and honestly they had a much bigger selection than a lot of the retail stores I've been to! It was so great to get 2 pairs of pants & 4 shirts for under $20 on my first visit. :thumbsup2

FYI, a warning about Motherhood Maternity. I bought 2 nursing bras there (since my old bras no longer fit), and they made me sign something agreeing that they were non-returnable. Well, guess what. The first time I wore the bras, the material between the cups rubbed my skin so bad it gave me blisters! I was so P.O.'d that I couldn't take them back. The bras felt fine standing there in the dressing room, but after wearing them for a day...ouch. So I got some softer material & sewed it over the scratchy material that was irritating my skin. What a pain.

How sweet of you! :wave2:

I really hate Motherhood...at least my store--it is TINY and I feel like the workers are totally on top of you trying to get a sale. There's a Destination Maternity store at a richie rich mall nearby where they leave you alone (at least the one time I was in there they did)...

I'll definitely be hitting the thrift stores on my day off...I'll take my mom--she's an expert. ;-)

I didn't like the Motherhood bras either. I had bought 2 Gilligan & O'Malley softcup nursing bras at Target awhile back & wore them for the 1st time in the hospital last week. I LOVE them so much that I just ordered $140 worth of the same bra, sleeping bras, & tanks. If Target wasn't an hour away, I would have sent someone after some! I got free shipping since I spent over $50.

Oh, and I'm getting so much closer to meeting my little boy!! DH keeps catching me in the glider in the nursery... :rotfl:

I'm so excited for you! Like you, I'm actually thinking of leaving my job a little earlier than I had planned. As a part-timer (technically), I believe I have fewer rights than a full-time, salaried employee and since they are getting rid of me at the end of June anyway...maybe I'll just turn in my two weeks notice on Fri. (Not required of me, but considering that I want references from my co-workers, I think it's the right thing to do.) Our two biggest school groups are this coming Fri. and next Tues. so as long as I am there to cover those, I don't feel too bad about being gone afterwards. And I don't think I would look unprofessional if I did so either.

That sounds like a very good plan to me...I'll hope for cooler weather your way!

Thank you! That is what she wore home from the hospital-she is wearing white pants w/ pink polkadots, & it came w/ a long sleeved matching shirt. I'm sure it is the same one you have!

Yup...same thing...from Kohls :)

OT - What happened to some of these tickers??? :confused3

We've had the tickers go out before...probably a problem with the origin site.

Oh, Happy day!!! The rug I ordered for Natalie's room came in and it looks so cute in her room. It really finishes things off and pulls things together.:goodvibes I wish my room was as put together as hers.

Well, last night was a horrible sleeping night. I ended up in the chair again. My nose is so stuffy. Funny how when our bodies will be back to normal for good sleeping, there will be another "little body" there to wake us up.

Thanks Sarah-and I did it. I put in my 2 weeks notice today. My boss was actually very nice about it and I feel like there will be good feelings left on all sides if I go in 2 weeks before it gets too hot outside.

I know that is a big relief. I was so nervous about turning in my resignation at work (the other job was finalized on my last day last Wed), but it felt good to get it over with.

They had a shower for me and the other 2 pregnant teachers at work today. The kids got out at 11:40, then the teachers ate together. I didn't go (I was invited, but they understood that the baby is only a week old and I didn't want to get her out). But they brought me the leftover food (steak, salad, potato salad, cake), some gifts, and an $80 gift card. This is a small school, and alot of teachers had already given me things. And they had 3 of us to buy for, so I was really surprised!

How sweet! I was really surprised when DH brought the gift home from teh teachers at his school--1. he's a guy and 2. He's only been there for 2 school years. Super cool--teachers are the best! lol

I'm glad you got some good food and gifts too! I agree with Sarah, teachers ARE the best!

december, Katie is adorable!!!! Congratulations!!! :cloud9:
I love the picture of her with her daddy :lovestruc

Hooray Cseca! Quite a story. Glad all went well. I was waiting for the highlighted part, don't worry it didn't scare me. I though the scariest part was when you said they stitched you up. I just hate thinking about skin that way! :rotfl: Yikes. About the BFing. She might just want something to keep her busy. I was floored to learn that their tummies are only as big as a marble. And that they absorb some of the milk/formula through their cheeks. DS would eat, and eat, and eat and then it would all come out. I was so worried he was starving but he was just overeating. I wasn't too keen on the whole paci thing but he would nurse all day if I didn't give him one. Or at least a clean pointer to have around.

She is just beautiful. It seems like everyone I know is having a girl (except my fellow boy disers!). I keep seeing pregnant people or brand new babies. I can't believe it's almost time again.
...

Thanks so much!
I know what you mean about the paci. I had to break down and give her that as well because she would do the same thing as your DS... Eat and eat and eat and then spit out... sigh... So our ped suggested to supplement and give paci just so I can get a break... altho I don't know how feeding every 2hrs is actually giving me a break...

How sweet of you! :wave2:

Sarah, I did buy some big sized shirts (L and XL) from the sales rack at Sears for the last month of my pregnancy. They were about $5 a piece. So I didn't feel too bad purchasing them hehe... I refused to spend too much $ on maternity clothes at the last tri. But I had to buy bigger sized pants because nothing fits me anymore. Basically the last 2 months of my pregnancy I wore the same pants everytime I went out... :lmao:

I'm glad it went well for you! It's the worst feeling having to bring something up to the boss but a relief once it's over. I'm so thankful to be a SAHM now. :goodvibes Happy for you.

Anyone heard from Patsy? She was supposed to schedule her induction this AM. Nothing on Facebook either.

She mentioned something about getting internet shut off at her old house and not getting it at her new house for a couple day's.*
