I woke up with this on my mind again. There is no way for me to avoid the Mexican population here! We live in the city park! The more I think about it, the more scared I'm getting. Besides the 20% Hispanic population in school (from all over-not just Mexico), we have a huge number of Mexican men who come here to work without their families (send money back home-huge chicken plant industry in central MS). Dozens of them come to the park almost daily and play soccer on the fields here-right next to the house. How would I ever know who has been to Mexico in the last 7-14 days!!!!!! I'm really trying to stay calm about this, but when you hear that Mexico has ordered schools and churches shut down, it is really scary!

I hear that it has actually been going on a lot longer than that... That it didn't start out thought to be as serious as it was and was mistaken for just the flu. I think its been going on since around Christmas. Don't worry yourself sick about it. Just wash your hands (or shake too many hands for that matter) and don't kiss any strangers I know, I know, its so tempting.

I know it is scary, I live in Texas and there have been confirmed casses here. As Maggimus said, wash your hands often. Don't touch your nose, eyes or mouth until you have washed your hands.

I hear that it has actually been going on a lot longer than that... That it didn't start out thought to be as serious as it was and was mistaken for just the flu. I think its been going on since around Christmas. Don't worry yourself sick about it. Kissing isn't a problem! But my kids love to touch my belly, and one of my Hispanic girls has to hug me daily (she says she loves getting a 2 for 1). Someone from Mexico City just posted on the other thread that EVERYTHING is closed for 10 days-no movies, church, school, sporting events, etc. Can you imagine?

My mil just picked up my kids. She is back to the rational world right now. She is taking them to North MS (about 3 hrs) in her motor home to see ds11's favorite college team play baseball (Ole Miss). Her dh graduated from Georgia (who they are playing). So you have two adults dressed head to toe in Georgia Bulldogs gear, and 2 kids dressed head to toe in Ole Miss gear. They are going to look really interesting together!

She has another vacation offer, and I may take her up on this one. The rest of her family is still going to Gatlinberg in June (her, her 2 sisters, their kids/grandkids, my sil and her kids, etc.-the same crew I went to CA with last year), but she wants to take just me and my kids in July, and do Gatlinberg and Dollywood. The baby would be closer to 2 months then. That does sound like fun, and would keep the kids from missing a vacation this summer. Dh still won't like it-he just really doesn't like his mother at all

And I think I'm nesting! My house was so bad. I got up at 7 this morning and took my fridge apart and cleaned it!

Dollywood is nice, just don't expect it to be like WDW or Six Flags. They say around here that it is a "theme" park, not an "amusement" park-- so be prepared for fewer rides (although there are rides and rollercoasters there)... and a lot of shows, crafts, buildings, etc. I think its worth a days trip.

I live just outside of all of the tourism- but DH works smack dab in the middle of it daily. Dollywood is on one side of the "spur' as they call it. Dollywood is at the end of pigeon forge-- and gatlinburg is just beyond that. They back up to one another and its about a 5-10 minute drive from Gatlinburg if you go the normal tourism route. Not bad at all. If you go to Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg-- you can expect to do them both because they are clustered right there together. No worries about it-- PLENTY of shopping, food, and touristy stuff.

I think I'm just about out of steam, but I got alot done. I took all the trays/glass out of the fridge and cleaned, cleaned out the kids' closets (our Beta Club is going to Orlando for convention and they asked for donations for a yard sale/fundraiser), cleaned both kids' rooms, both bathrooms, etc. I still have to sweep/mop the bathrooms, and do my room. I was going good until dh called to check on me. I sat down, and now I don't want to finish! My back is killing me, and I want to take a bubble bath in my newly cleaned tub, but not until I'm finished!

Of course, I haven't even started on my grad school assignments that are due tomorrow night, and my shower is tomorrow, so I'm running out of time!

So you think one day would do it for Dollywood? The non ride stuff sounds great for the baby. I looked at the website, and it looked like alot of wet rides that the kids would love. MIL doesn't ride (freaked out on Goofy's Barnstormer when she went to WDW with us in 2006, and the Orange Stingers at DCA last summer almost gave her a stroke!). So she said she'd love to take care of the baby while I rode with the kids. I think she is working overtime to get back in my good graces after her last meltdown.

Piecey- You tell your DH that you can NEVER have too much TP! C'mon-- its the household necessity!

December- One day at Dollywood would probably be plenty. However, if you are worried about getting everything in one day- here is my *budget* tip for you! Go after 3pm. If you purchase a ticket after 3pm- the next day is free (that is their policy all the time)!! So there's a day and a half worth of rides for the kiddos. If you get finished the next day early- you'll be better safe than sorry.

Thanks Maggie for all the tips. Doesn't look like I'll need them anytime soon, though. I told dh about it, and he wasn't thrilled. He doesn't want us going anywhere with his mother, especially with a 2 month old. WDW is worth the argument-not sure about Dollywood! Especially since I'm not really thrilled about taking a baby that little on vacation either. I'll just try to put her off until the late fall or spring, when Katie is old enough to enjoy it as well. She'll be mad, but at him, and they don't really communicate anyway.

I think I overdid it today. The house looks great, all the clothes are washed and put away, and the stuff I'm donating is bagged at the door. But my back is killing me. I also feel like she has "dropped." Dh noticed it too. My belly was right under my ****s, and she was kicking my ribs. Now she is kicking level with my belly button, and I don't have my built in bra! I've been having a ton of Braxton Hicks contractions. I'm really hoping for an early May arrival!

What a beautiful... everything! You were gorgeous and I love all your color choices!!

I'm going to have to start working on DH now for a vow renewal.. Think I can convince him since we only spent $364 on our wedding (Vegas, baby), we can splurge on the vow renewal and do it in Disney??

I love this picture, too. I can remember standing there and sending a picture of that background to my dad... The company in that tall black building is who he works for! I remember one of the frenchmen telling me when I got there I couldn't miss it because it stuck out like a sore thumb...



Maggie- I know, what's his problem? It's not like TP has an expiration date! I handed him a glass of the free V8 and told him to go brush his teeth with the $.50 toothpaste when he was done. He didn't find it as amusing as I did, though...

december- Crossing my fingers for you! Take it easy! I can't even stand up long enough to make dinner anymore- I think I'm starting to get that sciatic nerve pain or whatever it's called... It depends on how he's laying but it takes my breathe away... I can't imagine cleaning.
And I still don't have a hospital bag packed.. or any baby clothes washed..

Hoping your back gets better - and that you get your early May wishes

Piecey, I'm paying for it today. Believe me, yesterday was NOT a normal day for me! The house was really bad, clothes were piled up, dd9's room was HORRIBLE, the kitchen was a disaster.....The 1st thing dh said when he came home last night was "We're having a baby before next weekend!" He couldn't believe how clean everything was. He hasn't been able to help at all. He goes to work at 7am, and he's had games every night all week (as park director he has 12 fields to get ready during the day, and has to be there to make sure nothing goes wrong at night when the kids play-all with one helper since his other 2 employees are college kids and haven't started yet). He's hoping I go into labor next weekend because it will get him out of working a 3 day softball tournament!

The house smells so good. Only the bedrooms are carpet-the rest of the house is tile. I bought the Swiffer pads with Febreze in them-they are wonderful!

I will probably not go into labor early, but I know I'm getting there. My stomach has definitely dropped. I'm having tons of Braxton Hicks. After yesterday, my biggest complaint is my lower back and hips-they are still so sore and achy! I want her to wait until May, but whenever she's ready, I'm ready!

December- when you feel wonderful about yours-- you can take a trip over here and do my floors. All i ask is that you do my floors and master bathroom! My shower is all glass and its a royal pain in the keister! Hoping your baby is ready in May. Do you have a birthing ball? They say if you rock back and forth on a birthing ball that it will help to get the baby in position for labor. If you don't- go get one of those really large pilates balls at Walmart-- they arent very expensive at all.

I'm sorry you're hurting, thats gotta stink. I know the little aches and pains are catching up to me now so I can't imagine how you feel with everything you've got going on and all that cleaning!
I've never seen those Swiffer pads but I may have to look into them... our new house is carpet up the stairs and the entire upstairs and wood floors in the dining/living, ceramic tile in the laundry room and vinyl in the kitchen/bathroom downstairs. Those might come in handy! Thanks for the tip...

I'm so excited, you're getting close! We need another picture on here! I can't imagine my tummy getting any lower than it already is.. but they say that is the different with boys and girls, right? Boys are usually lower. I hope you feel better soon!!

Much more my style (quick, efficient, cheap). And the whole only telling people the week before we left to make sure no one could "happen" to be there at the same time... pure genious! I think I might have told my parents two weeks in advance, not sure.

I'm not sure when they'll double again, but I'll be watching out. I'm going to start saving EVERY coupon I get now and put them in this thing my boss gave me by expiration date. If KMart ever does this again, I'll be more prepared! They doubled all my Huggies coupons- every single coupon I had but the KMart $5/off of $50.. Some people reported that their KMart wouldn't double internet ones and mine said they didn't last time. Well, not really *my* KMart. Neither of the ones in my town here in WV doubled, but the one in OH where I work did- must be a different market..
I don't even really use that Skintimate stuff anymore but for free...

This weekend I have been real tired for some reason. I think it might have something to do with the weather. It has been warm here and really windy. Also, my back has been giving me some trouble. Oh well, if I make it to my due date, I only have 61 more days left.
