Aurora - My SIL has the Chicco Keyfit and likes it a lot. Her only gripe was the price of getting a 2nd base for it.
Lauren - When do you go for your first visit? With my 1st kid and this one, I had med students see me first, take my history, all that stuff (likely cause my first appt with both was over the summer, when the new med students start), then the dr came in and did his thing, which was different both times. With my middle child (which sounds so weird for me to say!), I only saw the dr, super brief visit where really nothing went on. Interestingly , I never had any sort of blood or urine test or ultrasound to confirm I was pregnant with any of my pregnancies.
Tigger - I LOVE that nursery set and that was the one I was looking at had this baby been a boy. I actually still really like it anyway, but my husband and daughter don't think it's very girly. We won't be buying a bedding set till we move anyway, which won't be till this baby is about 6 months old, so I guess I have time to think.
I was so miserably sick this weekend. I really thought I had the flu, but now I think it was just a bad cold. I started feeling congested and ill Friday morning, but then it got much worse by that night and Saturday I was terrible, fever and all that. My husband had to work from 3pm Friday-8am Saturday, but then he took over kid duty (which included a birthday party) and I napped much of the day. That must have helped cause by 6pm I felt decently better and was able to go to the Boo at the Zoo event that we had tickets for. It rained a lot of the day so we were going to skip it, but then right around 5:45 the sun came out (started at 5:30) so since we only live a block from the zoo we decided to head out there. The kids loved it and since we never made it to a pumpkin patch this year I really didn't want to skip it if possible.
Yesterday I was on my own again and we had 2 birthday parties and the school book fair. Needless to say, today I will be resting cause I still have the congestion and a nice cough to go along with it and the weekend was pretty tiring.
ETA: At one of those birthday parties yesterday, they had a pinata. The kids were hitting it with bats for a solid 10 minutes and not one crack on the litle donkey. My kids were getting their faces painted so we joined the pinata line late, and the mom asked who hadn't had a turn yet. My son raised his hand and she handed him the bat. The kid took 1 swing, with just one hand, and the pinata broke. Since he routinely breaks things that he shouldn't (accidentally, usually, like our coat rack just yesterday morning) he froze and stood there with his mouth open in shock. All these parents said things like "Wow, I can't believe your son broke it, he's one of the smallest kids here!" And I thought, "No, I am not surprised, he breaks anything he comes in contact with, this pinata was nothing to him!"
