I'm a single mom and I love taking my kids to WDW !! I cherish the memories especially since I have 3 grown children and I feel like our trips to Disney were some of the greatest moments of their childhood.

Really enjoying your trip report. I have to tell you I am a single mom of 2 girls and I took them to DL for Thanksgiving in 2012. I can understand the concerns of the long flight, mine made it through 5 hours then fell apart on the plane. You are right thank GOD for the dvd player and Ipad.
Can not wait to read more.

Thanks for your patience guys. My computer konked out on me and I've been waiting to get it all patched up. Now that I'm all ready to roll I'm just organizing some pics for day 3 of our trip and I'll have something up for you soon. I am so excited to get back to this.

Day 3 of vacation: EPCOT & Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party

OMG! What a long and wonderful day. We woke up late and made it to Epcot just in time for lunch. Shortly after lunch Lily decided she was ready to leave EPCOT. LOL! She stuck it out and had a good time.

Mickey has been to our room again while we slept.

This time she gets a Muppets Vinylmation. Dr Bunsen Honeydew.

When we arrived we were STARVING. So we burned stroller wheel rubber and dashed into Electric Umbrella Restaurant. As we wait at the window for our food, I am so hungry I'm beginning to shake. The tray of food arrives. Finally! I balance it on top of the stroller and start to roll away, trembling with anticipation of getting some protein into my body. I'm fighting the hunger shakes and trying to navigate through the people while balancing this food tray on top of the stroller when I hear "Mommy. I need to go potty." Oh man, are you kidding me? So, what choice do I have but to turn the stroller around and balance everything over to the restroom and get the issue taken care of. The delay to food consumption was no more than five minutes, but to a shaky mommy, it felt like an eternity.

FINALLY we sit down to eat. I was so hungry I forgot to take a picture before I dug in. Once I was digesting and about my wits, I got this shot.

I think it was maybe a meatball sub?? I can't remember. All I knew was that I instantly felt better. My dessert was strawberry cheesecake.

Lily got the cheeseburger meal.

Now here's a little bit of a funny story. At this time, the guy I used to date (who shattered my heart to pieces) sent me a text asking how our vacation was going. You know, because he likes to interject himself into things that are important to me and insure I am always pining away for him. I decided to be polite enough to send him a picture text of us eating lunch. Little did I know that DD snuck in a personal message to him.

So now we're done eating and it's time to check out EPCOT.

We walked over to check out Journey Into Imagination With Figment. I have never been on it before and I was curious to see this Figment character I had heard so much about. Well, we both loved it. In fact we loved it so much we decided to ride it again immediately.

Did you know they had EXIT signs in space? The stuff they don't teach you in science class...

DD loooved the interactive play area after the ride.

We were happy to see that right next door was one of our favorite Disneyland attractions, Captain EO. Couldn't pass that up!

Going through the pictures when we got home, I notice that for most of this day there is a finger print smudge on my camera lens, and it really irritates me.

About this time, Lily starts asking about Enchanted Tiki Room Under New Management and Mickey's Philharmagic. She's wants to ride them again. I have to explain to her that those attractions are in another park and we can't ride them right now. But I tell her that we'll be back there tonight for Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. So of course, she's ready to go. Now. It's around one in the afternoon. We've got quite a few hours left before MVMCP. Oh dear.

Thankfully as we wander around, we run into Duffy the Bear. He is adorable!!! There was no one in line so we ran over to get pictures and autographs in Lily's "sign book".

After our meeting with Duffy I was in search of The Seas With Nemo and Friends. We were a little turned around in here. We didn't stay very long and I'll tell you why. We headed straight over to Turtle Talk With Crush, which had just started the instant before we arrived. So we had a good wait. Lily started to get bored and antsy during this time. I'm explaining to her that once you get inside, Crush will come out and talk with all the kids. I also told her that he answers questions, so we better think of one in case he calls on her. So she decides to ask him what sea turtles eat.

She loves these birds so much. Out in California they've got them set up at the Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage. She was very excited to see them here too. We stood and listened to them for about 7 minutes before I could convince her to come see what was inside.

Well I'm thinking now that it may have been better if I'd sent her in unprepared. Because now, she expected to get called on...and it didn't happen.

Oh my goodness, you would have thought the world had ended. She was adament that we go to see it again. Not only did I not have the patience to walk around and wait through the show that was now starting as we exited, and then sit through the show again, I knew there was no guarantee that she would be called on next time. Vicious cycle. So I did what any sensible parent would do. I bribed my child with a souvenir.

I'm not quite sure who's idea it was, but we decided to go back over and ride Journey Into Imagination with Figment again. And then again. Aaaaaand then again. Five times so far this afternoon. And you know what? It isn't bothering either one of us. We love it. We love spending time with each other. We love Walt Disney World. We're having a ball. About this time thought I'm reeeeeally wanting to choke the Imagineer that decided on a skunk scent in the Smell Lab.

Finally full on Figment we head over to World Showcase.

Waiting in England to meet Alice. See her back there?

Alice was wonderful. She spoke with Lily for a good long time. Why? Because she asked Lily what her favorite ride had been so far. Lily goes into full scene by scene description of Mickey's Philharmagic.

God bless Alice. She was adorable and that was such a cute moment.

A little shopping detour through England. I do LOVE The Beatles.

He was 6 and determined to go on it again and again. The cm's out front started counting the times we rode after #4. My son loved it and we were having such a good time it didn't matter how many times we rode it. Love the pics of you and Lily in front of SE and Lily and Alice. Can't wait for more.

Oh I know what you mean. Just recently DD and I were headed to Disney's California Adventure and she had it in her mind that she wanted to ride it 7 times. Thankfully it was a slow day, and the CMs were fine with us staying in our seats. She was shocked when we finally exited the show and walked outside. "It's DARK outside now!" We were inside so long that the sun had long since set.
