Mom & Son Going Back! 10 days DxDDP! Complete 10/2 - LTT, GG & Cost Totals

So as much as I want to be able to say that I have eaten at all restaurants on Disney property (hence H&V this trip!) I just haven't been comfortable with Narcoossee's. So after talking with DH today, I changed out dinner to Kona so we can just head out to the Poly beach for Wishes! Plus DS really wasn't thrilled with Liberty Tree so I changed our lunch on the same day to The Plaza which we all love and I just couldn't fit in before. I think the lighter lunch works as the sandwich between our big Kona breakfast and Kona dinner.

I made the changes to the 'list' in post 3.

I really think this is the last of my changes. I think at one time or another I have had reservations at just about every restaurant! Those cancelled that didn't come back? Cali Grille (may end up regretting), Narcoossees, Flying Fish, Liberty Tree, CRT for breakfast, Les Chefs, Brown Derby, Chef Mickey's breakfast, Cape May breakfast, Nine Dragons, Tokyo Dining, Biergarten and I am sure a few more that I am forgetting. You just can't eat every where despite my best efforts!

Edited to add that I have now rebooked Cali Grille and added The Wave to my cancelled list!

I'm so in! I took my oldest on a mom and me trip when he was in 6th grade. It was a HUGE hassle with the teachers, so with the younger son, I decided to go in 5th grade. (This will be in 2013.) Then moved it to 4th grade (2012). Now moved it to this year--already received the a-o-k from the principal, so I'm psyched! He doesn't know about it yet--thinks it is in 2 more years. We're attaching a sign to the inside of the trunk and when we get to the airport to supposedly pick up a friend from the airport, it will read, "Mikey...you're going to Disney World....TODAY!" Can't wait!

So, I will read your report with great anticipation of my own trip. You have picked out some great places to eat!

That's fantastic! When is your trip? Your DS will be so excited! My trip with DS (then 12) in '08 was absolutely fantastic. I feel bad for DH when I say it but it was truly the best 10 days of my life. I definitely enjoy our family trips but absolutely cherish the trip with just DS!

I love your ADR plans! Lots of places we like and places we want to try. We are DxDP people too. I'll definitely be looking forward to the food report!

Sept 23-Oct 2. I understand. My trip with my DS was the best trip ever with my 40th b-day with friends a VERY close second!

So I have had 3 different Cali Grille ADR's and cancelled them all for different reasons. Of course I have been regretting that! This morning I was able to get a Cali Grille ADR for 5:30 the night we were going to eat at The Wave. Figure we will have dinner, head to the MK for the Parade and then head back to the Contemporary to see Wishes. I am really happy.

So the last thing is whether I change Kona to The Wave. I don't have a preference so I will ask DS & DH. I have a feeling they may be split so we will flip a coin.

I should know today if DSis is going with us or not. If they are not, I will cancel our ADR at Crystal Palace. DS15 just isn't in to the Pooh characters any more! I can't imagine why ...

And then finally, 24 days before our arrival ... I will be done. And the trip will be practially perfect in every way! :goodvibes :cloud9: :lovestruc

I also am looking for CG adr. Since we ate there last time, I thought I could let it go this time. But as the time approach, I really want there sushi! I've been looking religiously for their adr opening but no luck so far. :sad2:

I can't wait for your reviews as we've got some of the same restaurants and we'll be in Disney at the same time you will! Unfortunately we won't be eating at the same places on the same days. But I compared your plans to ours - we are one park per day people and I see that we'll be in Hollywood Studios on the same day as your 50's PT ADR so I'll have to keep an eye out for you! :) You've really got me thinking about switching our our Wave reservation to see if I can get Cali Grill. Hmmm...just when I thought I was done switching them! :rotfl:

I felt the same way. Been there, lets try something new but after having and cancelling 3 ADRs there I decided I wanted it back! :sad2: So after two weeks of checking often, a good time popped up.

I know! The online system makes it so easy to make changes! We are now debating whether to keep Kona or add The Wave back in since I cancelled it for Cali Grille. I really like both places so I am having a hard time choosing. DS says Kona. DH says whatever I decide. He hasn't eaten at The Wave so I am leaning there so he gets to try it. Ugh. Decisions, Decisions! :upsidedow

Ok, I am really done with changes now. DSis is not going to make it so we cancelled Crystal Palace. And I changed Kona to The Wave for dinner.

All changes made to post 3. This should be our final plans! ;)

Ok, so we had been debating going to the Campfire Sing-a-long after our dinner at Artist Point. Decided against it and made our dinner later. Just saw the movie schedule and it is Toy Story 3 that night! I just have to go now! :)

So now we will have a later breakfast at Boma, spend the day in DTD and snack if super hungry, then an early dinner at Artist Point. That meant cancelling Sanaa which DS did not want to do.

So I moved Sanaa in place of The Plaza on a MK day. Figure it will break up our day a bit. Will be nice to relax a bit and watch the animals mid-day. That meant making our Kona breakfast much earlier than orginally planned!

And DS really wanted to go back to Chefs de France but because I wanted to try new places, I couldn't fit it in. Reconsidered today and since I prefer it for lunch I moved our Rose & Crown lunch to dinner in place of Marrakesh and booked Chefs for lunch on our last day.

Whew! Ok, I really, really think I am done now. 3 weeks from today DS and I check in to POP. 12 more days of work ... ok, today really shouldn't count so 11 days!

So, on Sunday, February 27th I was up at 5:30am to get online to make all of our ADRs. First one I made was for a Fantasmic! Dinner package. Somehow over the past several months I decided I didn’t care if we saw F! or not so I cancelled it. Well, last night I decided I wanted it back again. Luckily I was able to get one but it required juggling several other reservations. :headache:

I am truly, finally, completely done. 267 emails in my Disney ADR folder. :scared1: Funny how before the online system I would call make my ADRs and be happy. And yet this year I have not been able to stop changing and tweaking. :confused3

I think DH will kill me if I propose any more scenarios. Just under three weeks til the trip and I am forgetting now that there is an online ADR system.

I must be done … I must be done …. I must be done!

The online reservations has been a curse and a blessing! I have cancelled, added, changed a million things this week and for the last 4 months I have left everything alone so what is wrong with me now? :lmao:

The one reservation I have not done a thing with is Le Cellier...I know if I scratch that one I will never get it back...but I'm not sure I really want it anyways :rotfl:

I think you should keep it ... give a try. Or if our meal is terrible, then cancel!

I started with lunch and then DS wanted to try dinner. Started with a really late time. A week or so later found a better time. Then a better one. Then finally a perfect one. So people do cancel. But you have to keep checking. As you said, a blessing and a curse!

I totally agree! Online adr has been both curse and blessing. Yep, I was up 5:45 AM on my 180 day to make those ADRs. I thought I got every adr I wanted at the time. However, I've been tweaking it over the months and even now, I search to see if there's anything better!! :lmao: I'm just glad that I'm not sharing this info this DH or he'll think that I have some kind of psychological problem. :rotfl2:

Did you get the Restaurant.com coupon for Garden Grove? There are oftentimes codes that allow you to buy a $25 gift certificate for $2!!! I'm sure that someone on here will have the code.

Yep, we do! :thumbsup2 Thanks for letting me (and others) know though. Found out about it here on the Dis.

and both SOX fans (didn't you love last night!!!) thought I'd post our plans - Reg DDP as I still think DxDDP is too much for us, current plan is for no park hopping and all meals are dinners

Monday - MK - Liberty Tree Tavern
Tuesday - AK - Boma
Wednesday - Epcot - Biergarten (had a wonderful meal last year!)
Thursday - DHS - 50's Primetime
Friday - Epcot - Via Napoli (DD's choice - not too excited myself)
Saturday - probably working on DD's new place - no park plans - Cape May Cafe or Cap't Jacks
Sunday - MK - Whispering Canyon Cafe
Monday - open - DME @ 4PM

Somehow we're very heavy on buffet type meals this year. Didn't plan to but it just worked out that way :confused3. LTT is an old friend we haven't visited for years, ditto WCC. I have been trying to get to Boma & CMC for a while & dang it we're going this year!! And I loved Biergarten last year, sat with a lovely, engaging German couple & had a great time.
