Mom & Son Going Back! 10 days DxDDP! Complete 10/2 - LTT, GG & Cost Totals

Last week of work before heading to my sister's on Saturday morning. Hoping the week flies by but I have a feeling it will drag.

We are about 90% packed so that is good. Made some last minute changes yesterday (all updates in post 3). No changes to restaurants just switching around for better times. Was able to get a F! dinner on a night other than the DHS EMH night so I thought that would be better. But of course that required moving a few other things.

I can say that I am now truly done with changes. All plans are final. Whether we change anything while there remains to be seen but for now I am happy, happy with everything!

You must be very excited.... I'm excited for mine and it's not for another 40 days! Hope you have wonderful trip.

And I'll be watching for the updates. I'm very interested on your thoughts on Labor Day Weekend crowd. We'll be doing that next year with our family. (I think 12 so far is definitely going.) That's the only time everyone could commit since some kids are in high/middle school so no off-season trip.

Definitely hard to focus today! We have gone this same week several times now. I think the crowds are more than manageable. A bit more crowded on Labor Day weekend but nothing like 4th of July, Spring Break or Christmas time!

not only did the Red Sox play like crap the last few days but now DD says she has to work on our arrival day until 6PM!!!! Its the LAST day of her internship. For the love of God can't you work a half day??? What are they gonna do, fire you?!?!? And she wants to drop all her stuff off at the new house on day 2. That was supposed to be an AK day but it can't be if we aren't going to get there til mid afternoon!!! We had a fight about this last night .

It has been very difficult planning this trip with her changing her plans every 10 minutes. When she decided to move to Orlando and got a place to live, I thought we were set but no.....

So I spent the morning rearranging days & ADRS. If I could change my flight plans, I might have just cancelled the whole thing. (sorry, issues here) So now I am one of those unforgivable people with more than 1 ADR per day for 3 days of the trip. I just don't know what else to do as I am not a "wing it" person.

I know, easy for me to say, right? Hang in there. You are almost at your happy place. Even if it isn't the exact trip you had planned, it will be spectacular! As for the double bookings, no flames from me. I know you will cancel as soon as you know what you are doing. I had a couple of double bookings up until a few weeks ago when my sister confirmed she wasn't coming. Figure somebody jumped on them and got some pixie dust!

As for the Sox, they need to sweep the Rays. Maybe a lot to ask but a gal can hope. They did not look good against Seattle that's for sure.

She called at lunch & we both apologized. I have to remember that this trip is about helping her, not Disney. She's so scared about the move and staying until the last minute at her internship is a security issue. She feels safe there & Orlando with no job is VERY SCARY!!! I will leave the double bookings for a few more days & then go with my gut & cancel the rest. It will be fine.

Tues - MK - Dinner at LTT (morning/early afternoon at new house)
Wed - Epcot - Dinner at Biergarten
Thurs - AK - Dinner at Boma
Fri - Epcot - Dinner at Via Napoli
Sat - DHS - Dinner at 50's Primetime
Sun - MK - Breakfast at Kona - Dinner at Whispering Canyon
Mon - no plans - whatever she needs or wants - DME at 4PM

My Disney Daughter, who goes every year, calls me up (she's finally starting to relax) and says "any chance we could do Hoop-Dee-Do Revue?" REALLY??? 10 days before the trip you want to add an EXTREMELY POPULAR dinner show!?!?!?

So I told her not likely this close & she said no problem. I, of course, then call and......

got Cat 1 seating for the 9:30 show on 9/4 . Who'da thunk? So I cancelled Kona & WCC and I will forgo MSEP & Wishes so she can see HDDR. The sacrifices a mother makes . Of course, on the upside, all you can drink Sangria!!

Good for you! We have never done HDDR, just no interest. Did Mickey's BBQ and the Luau a few years back but no HDDR. The Sangria has me thinking about a future visit though! I would give up WCC for just about anything though. That is on our never again list!

And you MUST try HDDR some time! It is our absolute favorite and our only must-do every trip. I agree with you about WCC. Yuck!

So I thought to myself - "Self, if you do HDDR on Sunday, you will lose like 4 hours of valuable park time (evening EMH), PLUS miss MSEP AND Wishes. If, on the other hand, you do HDDR on Tuesday, you will still miss Wishes (but can see it on Sunday) and the park closes at 9PM so you'll only lose 1/2 hr or so of park time. HMMMM"

So of course I changed it AGAIN!!! Had to settle for Cat 2 instead of Cat 1 but I don't think it'll be a big deal. And I've put LTT on Sunday night. BTW, we had a terrific time at WCC, even my stick-in-the-mud DH had a blast!

I have to stop. No more changes!!!!! This is making me nuts!

Hello! Our FANTASTIC trip is winding down! Two more days til we fly home! I am a bit sad but know we are coming back as I just booked Bounceback for next August 25th! 8 nights at Coronado. New resort for us to try.

Our trip has been truly wonderful. Food has been great. I have pics of everything! We get in Monday evening so the reviews will start some time next week once I get the pics into photobucket!

A few changes ... don't see that we will be leaving any credits on the table. Maybe be bringing a few snacks home with us.

That's great! We'll be at WDW during same time next year (8/28~9/3, 2012)!!!

Ok, we are back! And after a week of rain & storms with intermittant power and internet issues I finally have my pictures in Photobucket so I can start the reviews!

We had a truly wonderful trip ... I think our best one yet. DS who does love Disney but has advocated to go someplace else for next year's vacation asked me to book the Bounceback. I told him many times that he was drinking the WDW Kool-aid but he insisted that he wants to go back next year so we booked. You don't have to ask Mom twice!

DS and I left on August 20th via Amtrak to go to Deerfield Beach and spend a few days at my sisters. We used reward points to reserve a bedroom car (you can't beat free!) and all meals were included. I was surprised at how good the food was!

First night dinner, we both got salads and a roll ...

(Sorry for any blurriness ... the train was moving/rocking pretty good!)

I had steak with a baked potato

This was really good. Very little fat on the steak, good flavor. I would compare it to a decent Applebees steak, not a steakhouse steak but a decent steak.

DS has chicken with rice

He cleaned his plate (except for the veggies!). I tried a bit of the rice and thought it was quite tasty.

Dessert was creme brulee cheesecake and key lime cake

Again both very, very good!

After having dinner in Baltimore, we woke to breakfast in Savannah!

I chose the special, an egg & cheese quesadilla with salsa. This was truly one of the best breakfasts I have had anywhere. Eggs were well seasoned, tortilla was crispy. It was exceptional.

DS had french toast which was standard french toast ... tasty but nothing special.

For lunch we both had the special ... a wine braised pork over rice.

This was also very, very good. Surprisingly so. No fat, very tender pork. Not real salty. All in all very successful meals.

Up next, we arrive in Disney on 8/25 and made changes the very first day! A sign of things to come??
